It was morning. A rather bright one at that. It had been a day since she infiltrated Sleepwalk Haven with the other revenants. After they got back from the "failed" scavenger hunt, they ended up just returning their supplies and headed to bed. Today was a new day, one where they were gonna start their mission. Though, she had a feeling of anxiety for the things to come. Human emotions. Fun. Sitting up in her bunk bed, she surveyed the room. She shared a room with the rest of the Revenants, so luckily they had some space to themselves. Though, she couldn't help but observe the fact that she had gotten up before the others. It was almost time for the humans to awake, and they had to follow their schedule if they didn't wanna raise suspicions. Letting out a not so human yawn, she jumped off the top of the bunk with a pillow in hand. She might be the smallest of the Revenants, but she didn't let them think it made her weaker. Raising the pillow, she lightly wacked the revenant leader with the pillow, who was on the bunk below her. "Wakey wakey." She said loudly. Turning towards the third revenant, who slept on a mattress on the floor, she tossed the pillow at them. "Time to get up! Its uh.. The wake up time."

It was just another early morning for Asoka Yamamoto, the recently elected leader of Sleepwalk Haven. While she was getting settled into her new position, Asoka had one other issue; she was very, VERY pregnant and was expecting twins. Thankfully, its not like every single day was eventful and out of the ordinary. If anything, Sleepwalk has been as close to normal as can be. Just with supernatural creatures lurking outside the safe haven and ready to pounce (and kill) the Scavengers that would be sent out regularly during daylight hours and then return by curfew. In the past, before she became leader, there had been times where Scavengers did not come back and search parties would be sent out for them first thing the following morning. Sometimes they came back with the missing party, other times, they were not found, or occasionally found dead with violent wounds. With what plagued the world now, dying a peaceful death outside of the Haven was a rarity. Not that Asoka would know.

Overall, its been a couple of months since Asoka has last seen what it was like outside of Sleepwalk Haven, as going out in her current condition was just a bad idea overall. She was in the final stages and was due to give birth within the next four to six weeks. Not to mention she was being very cautious because of the precious cargo that rested within her. Waking up so early was weird, but it was part of the routine, and she was usually in bed by 10PM. And she would be asleep by 10:30PM because pregnancy got more and more exhausting the more it progressed. There had been several nights where she would wake up in the middle of the night for a multitude of reasons; sometimes she had to get up in order to go use the bathroom, or she would be up staring at the ceiling because she would wake up and be unable to go back to sleep, or she would have a nightmare and wake up completely terrified...then there was waking up because of strong contractions, which were tell-tale signs of her getting closer and closer to the final stage: Childbirth, which she was terrified of due to bringing children into the current ravaged world that she now lived in and endured the dangers of.

6_30_clock_clipart_6.jpg
As these thoughts traversed through her mind, from her Progressing Pregnancy to her Responsibilities as Sleepwalk Haven's Leader to Impending Childbirth, Asoka was worried and scared. Looking at the clock near her bedside on the nightstand, she sighed as she looked at the time, 6:30AM. It was half an hour until it was time to wake up and go to the cafeteria for breakfast and role call. Sighing, she started thinking about the nightmare that she had, concerning the creatures that plagued the world. They had many different names and came in many different forms. Phantoms, Shades, Wraiths and...the most dangerous of their kind, Reverents. Commonly, these creatures resembled nightmarish and demonic wolves, fast on their feet, aggressive in nature, sharp teeth whose bites bring pain before blood and death. Asoka proceeded to take a deep breath as she did her best to calm down, not wanting to further stress her unborn offspring...

Slowly, the expectant mother sat up, but continued to relax in her bed, still thinking about the nightmare that plagued her, robbing her of a good night's rest. Running her fingers down her long, jet-black hair, she looked down at her swollen belly, which had grown to the size of an 'overgrown pumpkin' as she had put it, and just gently massaged it to soothe the restless unborn babies. "Hush little ones, Mommy needs a few extra minutes before the day starts. Don't make it harder for me then it already is." She said, smiling as she felt a few strong kicks.

57ba55c684828.image (2).jpg
While she was happy that the kicks were getting stronger, Asoka wasn't the happiest about them whenever it came to her resting or trying to sleep, as the kicking often made it more difficult due to the occasional pain that it brought. Thankfully, she often took half-an-hour naps to get through the day, or to help with the morning sickness and stomachaches that were a frequent pain, she drank tea. She even had a small bed in the staff room, where she spent a reasonable majority of the day, writing in her notebooks and having meetings, whether it was with other members of the small community, taking in complaints or input on improving the current living situation. As fifteen more minutes pass, Asoka would look at the clock once more. 6:45. Sighing, she got up and straightened out her robe as she grabbed a new dress before taking her exit from the room that she stayed in. Entering the women's restroom, Asoka proceeded to go ahead to claim one of the vacant showers, pulling the curtain for the sake of her privacy.

Calhoun-High-School-Cafeteria-small.jpg
Once she was finished freshening up though, Asoka slipped her new dress on before getting some new slippers before she started waddling to her way to the Cafeteria to make sure that the morning cooks were getting breakfast ready for everyone in the kitchen per the routine. With a rotation for the cooks, every day was different for breakfast. And on some days, like today, Asoka had decided to come in personally to check up on the cooks as well as make her morning tea as she had stopped drinking coffee since large amounts of caffeine was unhealthy for her babies. As she began the process of making her tea, which was putting a filled kettle on the stove. Looking at another nearby wall clock, she saw that time had passed a little more, 7:15AM. Everyone should be getting up by now and making their way here if they hadn't stopped at the bathroom to shower, brush their teeth and whatever else was in their morning hygiene routines before Breakfast. Soon, the kettle started screeching, so she proceeded to remove it from the stove...and pouring it into a teapot, letting it simmer for a few minutes as she grabbed her notebook to get ready for Roll-Call.

Ashborn.

That was the name that he knew he would have to come to get used to. Getting used to another body and the few memories he had retrieved from his willing new body was... Unusual. Looking through that last twenty-four hours of memories he had was enough telling about the type of character the former human had been. A man with a bitter taste in his heart, and yet a love for the two people he seemed to drag with him, to think a human would go so far for what they thought would be the right thing was interesting. Getting into his new body, he could embrace the living, breathing body he was not in control of- feeling almost as though he belonged and he welcome the new world as much as he could. To think the only request that one might have, would be their best interest was a silver platter just being handed to them.

Although this wasn't the time to be mulling over what was or wasn't, and the rousing of one of his fellow Reverent and with a pillow no less. He snorted out, waving out a hand and swatting the pillow away once his eyes cracked open. Rubbing his face and trying to push away the lull of sleep." The wake up time..." The man grumbled out and he brushed his fingers through his messy locks and sat up with a stretch and a deep sigh." Humans... are so peculiar to rouse at such early times. It would be more efficient if they had just allowed themselves to rest and wake as they needed to." He muttered out at the thought, eyebrows furrowing a little bit as he looked to the smallest of the three. He worried how she might fair in the new life they had to blend within but knew that if it came down to it... Well, they would be able to keep her safe from whatever troubles might be laying ahead for themselves.

The large man pulled himself out from the bed and stretched out his arms with a deeper sigh and he popped his back soon enough. Earrings dangling from his ears almost an unfamiliar feeling and his eyes flitted back towards the third reverent and he puffed out." You don't want to stay in bed too long, if we act too out of character, there will be more eyes on ourselves." He grumbled out, and he eyed the both familiar and yet unfamiliar bedroom. He had a good feeling that from the few memories he did have, they wouldn't have too much trouble blending in. He knew Ashborn, was a loner. He wasn't very familiar with the entirety of the group and it was one of the few reasons that led him to the decision of summoning them. It was relieving to have a little bit of elbow room in the sense he wouldn't have to completely act like a different person to appease those around himself.

He knew that at first, they would have to lay a bit low and try and work with the flow of the facility around themselves. Hunting would come after, they didn't have to eat just yet and he knew that they would not want to stick out too much before they made any sort of moves. He looked back to the two and cocked his head up somewhat." Remember, don't make any moves until I give the word. Today is laying low."

Octavia wasn't the one to rise early and everyone knew it. Her usual routine is waking up 20 Minutes before roll call and making it there right before the leader called out her name. She wasn't the best rule follower. On this particular morning she sat straight up out of bed as her eyes darted to the clock, "7:50! God no." Leaping out of her bed she pulled on a pair of blue jeans that were thrown in the corner of her shared room. She couldn't believe the woman she was roomed with didn't even try to reset the alarm or anything. "Last time I give her my sweets from dinner." She grumbled under her breath. Quickly Octavia slipped on her raggedy boots and ran out of her room. With almost one full minute to spare she made it to a seat before roll call. Her white hair not tamed and her hazel eyes darting around, paired with dark circles, watching the ones who stared and judged her. She's pretty sure this is the same shirt she wore to breakfast yesterday. She kept her head down an waited for breakfast to start.

The reverent that Rose wacked appeared to be completely unphased by her attack. Of course. Not wanting to piss off the bigger reverent, she sighed and dropped the pillow. This body was so weird. Her reverent form was smaller then the others, but this form was even smaller. She felt weak in this form. Turning to Ashborn, she amusedly watched him struggle to wake. "I believe humans wake early to take advantage of the light, as their night vision isn't as good as ours."

Ashborn got straight to business, saying there will be no killing yet. She felt slightly disappointed, only showing it with a small deflation of her stature. She felt like she was starving even though she just ate. Human food would keep her body alive, but it didn't satisfy her true hunger. Though she knew Ash was correct, straight up attacking right now would be dumb.

Her eyes fell upon the sniper she had laid against the wall. Moving over, she picked it up slowly. It was weird. The weapon felt so foreign, but familiar in her hands. She knew exactly how to shoot it, clean it, load it. But she couldn't pinpoint a single moment where she could of learned that. She had the knowledge that this human cherished this weapon before she died. Hm. She would have to practice with it, so that people didn't notice her skill with it suddenly dropped. So much to do.

Asoka placed her tea onto a tray as well as grabbing the first plate for breakfast, which was a little more packed as the Cooks made a little bit of extra portions since food supplies were in surplus according to the inventory. Asoka needed it anyway, after all she was eating for not two, but three. After grabbing utensils and napkins, she slowly made her way to her Table before looking back at the clock, 7:55AM. It was going to be five minutes before roll call. Sure, there were times that people would come in moments before roll call started, and even during. Hell, there had been mornings over the last couple of weeks where even Asoka herself was late as she had trouble sleeping on most nights due to her pregnancy taking its toll on her body. As soon as she set her tray down, she saw everyone lining up to get breakfast. Although they were probably running late, she couldn't help but notice that there were a few people missing. But she'd figure that out once she was taking the attendance.

Momentarily, she ran her fingers down her hair and adjusted the bow above her head before looking down at her belly, before frowning as she had a sudden urge to go use the restroom. Thankfully, there was still time to spare, so quietly snuck out of the cafeteria to go use the restroom, much to her chagrin. While washing her hands, she felt a burning sensation in her chest. Thinking it was heartburn, she took a deep breath as she rubbed her chest before placing a hand on her belly. Thankfully, there were a few remedies she had in mind, but they'd have to wait till after roll call and breakfast. As she slowly waddled out of the bathroom, she looked at the clock once more, 7:59AM... Just one more minute until it was time!

Asoka waddled back into the Cafeteria and made her way back to her table to grab her notebook. Placing her free hand on her belly, she proceeded to straighten out her dress, Asoka opened the notebook so that she can begin, as everyone was eagerly waiting. One by one, she called out each person's name, first and last.

Her suspicions would be correct, as there was one person missing. Looking at each and every person, she placed her hand on her hip as she scanned the room, looking at each and every one of the faces, because something was off. The sound of her notebook hitting the table made a few people flinch, and she soon broke the silence. "Rose, Ashborn, you two were the last to see the person we are missing this morning. Do you know where they are?" She asked coldly while rubbing her swollen belly and sat down on her chair.

KALI MAVERICK
Kali was used to waking up early, she had been doing it her whole life at this point. Her eyes let in light before anyone in the Haven, that was guaranteed. It meant she wondered the halls before anyone, moving before anyone, and eating breakfast before anyone. The military woman preferred it that way, left little to surprise her.

A pair of uniquely camouflage pants and shirt adored her figure which matched with a pair of tan combat boots. From looks alone it was obvious she was not one to be messed with at all. She could break someone just as easily as she could fix them. A stern looked glued to her face and her hair pulled back into a tight bun, her face completely on display.

Currently, Kali sat at a table by herself. A cup of coffee and a bowl of fruit in front of her as a fork hung from her hand. Her brown eyes sort of wandered over all of the people to see if anyone was hurt, causing a ruckus, or anything along those lines. It was her job to make sure everyone was in good health after all. Eventually they stopped on Asoka, a common patient of hers now as the woman was heavily pregnant. Ready to pop wasn't even half of it.

"Morning, Asoka.." Kali blinked as the clipboard was slammed down showing that Asoka had obviously not gotten enough sleep, it was tough and unfortunately there wasn't much they could do about it. Being pregnant was hard. "I'll go look for them, if you want." She offered, sort of wanting to walk around.

Ashborn rolled his shoulders a little bit, looking over to Rose soon enough and puffing out a bit after." I suppose that would make some mild sense." He rumbled out, looking to the final Reverent and sighing out at the sight of them." It can't be helped, although I wouldn't have minded a bit more sleep to carry on with the day." He jested and straightened up his posture soon enough, flitting through the memories he did acquire from the previous host of his current body and his eyes narrowed. Roll call... A trivial thing in his own mind, after all if one did not show up then that would be just it. Nothing could have been done about those who did not wish to be there- or couldn't. His jaws parted in a yawn and he looked back to the smallest Reverent with a hand resting upon his hip.

Watching her fiddle with her sniper, he puffed out a little bit. He knew vaguely that she was familiar with the weapon, although wondered if Rose would carry that same familiarity now that she wasn't technically Rose." Don't dawdle too long with that." He finally stated, adjusting his clothing and preparing himself for the day, thinking back to the route they would have to take- and to get ready for the day." If they will not awaken, then we must move forward without them. We can say the scavenging was tough yesterday and they slept in." He stated soon after, slipping on his boots with a rough tug and tying them up. Almost through muscle memory rather than anything else as he mentally prepared for what they would need to know.

"We only have so much to work from, when we return we will want to look through their belongings for any journals, notes, anything to give us more about their identities." The man stated as he finished up tying his boots up and straightened back to his feet, looking back to Rose soon after saying this and taking a moment to allow her to get herself together. If they didn't go out with confidence, then they would be no better than fish out of water. He knew they needed to hold their resolve, and to not let the people around them pose as an intimidating threat.

Rose was lost in thought when suddenly Ashborn spoke, reminding her of their time constraint. "Sorry." She apologized, standing up and throwing the weapon onto her back using the strap. She knew it wasn't loaded at the moment, but knew exactly how to load it quickly if needed. Rose hoped that no one would call her out on her sudden rustiness with it. "Alright. Though if they get in trouble I'm not taking the blame." Rose huffed, kicking the pillow at the last reverent one last time. Looking over, she saw a black jacket hanging on the bed frame. Walking over, she grabbed it and threw it on. This was gonna be an interesting first day. She felt anxiety, and excitement. Well, technically those were the same emotion. Letting out a sigh, she turned to Ashborn and spoke. "Alright! Lets head off quickly, we're about to be late." Quickly, she ran over to her boots and threw them on. Tying them quickly, she stomped around a lil before grabbing the door. Trying to not show how nervous she was, curse these human emotions, she quickly threw it open. The outdoors was bright, and admitedly burned her eyes for a second after opening the door. Ow. Rubbing her eyes, she let them adjust. Going from darkness to bright was much more jarring for them, since they could see in the dark.

Once her eyes adjusted to the light, she continued forward. She vaguely could recall how to get around this place, however if she second guessed herself she would easily get lost. Trusting her feet, she let them guide her to where she was supposed to be. Assuming Ashborn was close behind her, she entered the cafeteria and watched as the leader did rolecall. There was a lot of people here, they wouldn't be found out easily right? There was just to many.

As if to jynx her own words, she heard her name. Pausing for a moment, she couldn't help the fear that they might of already been found out. However, the question that followed was a mostly harmless one. Deflating a little, she spoke slowly. "Uh- they're still asleep."

Hardly feeling the pillow hit him, Vlad simply grumbled and rolled over unconsciously flipping off whoever it was that hit him. It was too early for him to want to live anyway, especially in this new body. However as minutes passed, the male slowly woke up. Dull eyes opening, he yawned and sat up with a grumble. Scanning the room, he hardly registered the voices. It was time to get up and he was late.. oh well. Bones creaking and muscles popping as he stood with a groan, the burly man shook his head and sighed. Glaring at the window for the brighf morning, Vlad stretched and mumbled to himself about how it seems the day promised to be hot. Grabbing his blade, he attached it to it's place on his leg and readied himself to be scolded for being late, like he could care any less. Opening the door and moving outside, he heard more voices and sighed again, too many people. Maybe he should just kill them now and go back to bed. Except they had a mission and he wasn't about to be yelled at for screwing that up. Whatever, shoving his hands in his pockets he made his way to the room where they all gathered in the morning and frowned. "I'm alive" his gruff voice rung out tiredly.

EMILIA

mood = sleepy.
location = bed.

Emilia woke up with heavy eyes, barely knowing where she was. It was the first time in a long period that she woke up somewhere without having to worry about her life. Although she still was not exactly sure where she was, she knew for a fact that it was safer than somewhere in the woods. Her eyes slowly started opening as Emilia got ready to get out of bed. She does not remember much from last night besides promising to help this place and not to cause too much trouble. Besides that, she vaguely recalled to gather at the cafetaria at a certain time she cannot remember anymore.

Emilia patted her face with her hands, trying to wake up from little to no sleep. She still does not know exactly where she is or where she has to be. She does not know anyone here and neither do they know about her. But she is keen however, on meeting new people although she might seem shy at the beginning. After a couple minutes of staring at the wall, Emilia's body decided it was enough and lifted her up out of bed, one that was not made out of leaves or dirt. But it did not take the brunette more than 20 seconds before she lied down again before falling into a five minute nap.

'Ugh', Emilia moaned softly, waking up after her nap. She ran her fingers through her hair and slowly got up again for the second time. She was so tired she did not even have the energy to find the words she needed to describe how tired she was. But as time passes by, she realized she could not stay in bed longer as she was probably late already. With her bare feet, she dragged herself to the room where the sound of people was coming from, assuming that is where she is supposed to be.

As Emilia entered the room, she silently entered the crowd, trying not to disturb whoever was speaking. "I'm sorry", she whispered extremely silently as she gathered with the group. Her eyes looked around for familiar faces...but she did not know what she was expecting as she has not seen a single person for the last couple years. With the speaker's role-calling continuing to last, Emilia slowly waited for her name to be called, hoping she did not miss it by being slightly late.

Ashborn snorted out a little bit when the woman spoke up and he gave a dismissive wave." It will likely be on him, it is not our job to babysit the other people within the haven." He spoke up, looking back to Rose soon after as she strapped on her weapon and he let out a low sigh. Watching her as she kicked a pillow the last Reverent's way and he turned on his heel to finally follow the young woman out from their quarters with a roll of his shoulders." If we walk quickly enough we'll be alright." He puffed out soon enough, looking to the world ahead and squinting with a scrunch of his nose as the light blinded him momentarily." Augh, dreadful." He muttered out, blinking a few times as his eyes struggled to adjust to the change and he followed along after his fellow Reverent.

Coming into the cafeteria Ashborn could feel the momentary anxiety about settling in, but quickly squashed it right down as he carried himself with confidence and got ready for roll call. His eyes grazed over the other individuals within the cafeteria and he noted them. He knew he was... certainly not familiar with him, the person he once was wasn't a social man and he didn't fit in well enough as far as he could recall. His eyes finally flitting towards the very pregnant leader when she spoke to them directly. He looked to Rose when she did speak up before he spoke up as well and his eyes settled on Asoka with an unwavering expression." They've slept in today, we tried to wake him but he would not stir. I suppose they weren't convince they needed to." He gave a little wave of his hand and he cocked his head to the side soon enough. Confidence was easy to pull up for him, he needed to in order for them to fit in, and he needed to be the rock for Rose in this moment who lacked the confidence and ability to adjust in this moment.

His thoughts were interrupted and he looked over when Vlad entered the cafeteria and he gestured towards him." All is well then." He spoke to the pregnant woman, clasping his hands together and straightening up as he shot a glance towards their fellow Reverent. Hopefully, this wouldn't completely out them, no he couldn't have that just yet. There was too much hanging on the line to allow one slip up to unravel what they could be doing and he instead focused back on Asoka as she went through with roll call.

Just as Asoka was about to scold both Ashborn and Rose, she was greeted by Kali, the Haven's Medic and Primary Caretaker, who offered to go look for the missing person. Before she could respond, Asoka came down with a minor headache followed by a stomachache. Yeah, being pregnant was definitely not all that easy, especially considering that she was expecting twins, so the effects of the symptoms doubled, from the nausea, headaches, back pain, heartburn, everything. Worst of all, there were a lot of nights where she had trouble sleeping, and sometimes had to get up to go use the restroom because the frequency for that increased by quite a bit as the pregnancy progressed, much to her own dismay. Sighing, she looked over at Kali whilst holding her lower back because that was starting to hurt as well. "No, its fine, I'm sure they'll show up..." She grumbled, visibly frustrated and moody.

Before she could say anything more to Ashborn and Rose, who said that the missing person was not only still asleep, but they were sleeping in. Immediately after, two more people showed up. Asoka took another mental note that she did, once more, make an assumption that someone was there during role-call, when really they were not. Probably the pregnancy brain getting to her... Either way, this morning was getting frustrating. As she looked over at Vlad, Asoka slowly calmed down as she looked the bigger man in the eye. "That's good to hear. Glad you finally got out of bed. Just don't be late again." She said coldly as she scanned the room once more, ensuring that every face and every name was read out loud.

Having heard the silent apology from Emilia midway through roll call, she would then turn her attention to the other woman, away from Ashborn, Vlad and Rose, now that they were all here. "While I am glad that you are here, please, don't be late again." She then raised her voice a bit more, loud enough for the entire cafeteria to hear. "Remember everyone, you have to be in the Cafeteria by 7AM each day, no later!"

Once role call came to a close, she slowly allowed everyone to go back to eating breakfast and coffee. Proceeding to close the notebook, she straightened out her dress. "When you're done with your breakfast, please go check the Bulletin Board. If your Unit is assigned for Patrol, Scavenging or Guard Duty, please report to the Storage Room no later then 9PM. If not, there will be a task assigned to your Unit. It is important that we maintain our home and keep it clean. Once you are finished, come see me in the Staff Room. After that, you are free to do what you please for the remainder of the day until Curfew. Thank you." She ended it there, allowing everyone to go back to eating their breakfast so that they can go about their day.

As she was now at thirty-six weeks into her pregnancy, Asoka made another mental note to stop by the Medical Bay about an hour or two after breakfast for her pre-arranged appointment with Kali, who had been helping her monitor the baby's health as well as that of her own throughout the pregnancy. Asoka was very much grateful to have her at Sleep Haven, otherwise it would have been more difficult for her to go through. Quietly, she began eating her breakfast, so that she can go rest in the Staff Room and later go see Kali for her appointment, which would now be taking place once a week until the babies arrive. Because the due date was so close, Asoka was more worried then ever. As she continued to munch on her breakfast, Asoka gently caressed her every growing belly.

Jian Feng-Wu
Jian had actually been one of the first to the cafeteria thanks to an awkward mixture of insomnia and waking up far too early to be reasonable. Since joining the ranks of Sleepwalk Haven, it had scoped out all the best vantage points in every room it had entered; in the cafeteria, this vantage point was right next to the double doors, where most people came in from the main hallway, and after finishing its breakfast this is where it stood.

On a typical morning, Jian would politely nod to the other earlier risers (all of whom had quickly gotten used to it, and no longer startled when they realized it was standing just out of sight by the door), listen to roll call, then quietly hope that its unit was assigned as it made its way to the bulletin board. This morning, it was stuck somewhere between amused and annoyed by all the late arrivals. Their lateness didn't affect Jian directly—or at all, really—but it was an unnecessary disruption in an otherwise perfectly functional routine, and Jian was all about routine. Almost all of its life had revolved around a good, solid routine.

It had never properly met any of the people who were late beyond the general pleasantries exchanged when passing each other in the hallway. ('Hello, how are you?', 'I'm alright, and you?', 'Same here.' as if the world hadn't ended and they were pedestrians on the street.)(A bit hypocritical of it to make note of that, since it was one of the participants in those pleasantries and was thinking of this like a very strange extended contract to avoid thinking about the shadow-beasts gnawing the border of the compound.)

Anyway, the point was that it didn't truly recognize any of the late members except for one. The brunette—Emilia, was it? Jian had made note of her, only because she'd arrived last night and was, so far, a complete unknown. It was nerve-wracking, though that wouldn't show on Jian's almost uncomfortably stoic face. Watching her rush in, still bedraggled and tired-eyed, apologizing for her tardiness, it was hard to imagine her causing much trouble.

'Of course, that would make her the first to blow something up.' Jian thought wryly, shifting their weight from one foot to the other. It noticed it was standing in parade-rest out of old-habit, hands clasped behind its back, and it instead shoved its hands into its pockets, finding a bit of paper-trash it must've tucked away when on patrol. It was weird enough standing in the corner of the room staring at everyone, it was weirder if Jian looked like a guard while doing so… even if it was. On guard, that is. Because of course it was, what else was it meant to do?

Ah, Yamamoto had just dismissed them to the bulletin boards (or to breakfast, but Jian had finished that long ago). It would wait for a few others to leave first, recognizing some from its own unit. Ellery waved enthusiastically because they were always happy to see everyone (Including Jian) and Jian waved back, without the enthusiasm, but they seemed satisfied nonetheless and returned to whatever conversation they were holding with name-starts-with-a-B, leaving Jian in the cafeteria. Ellery was also another person that noticed its quirks and chose to ignore them. Thank fuck. Jian wasn't even sure what the honest answer would be if someone asked why it had to wait for some others to leave the room before it could follow a group out.
