What seems like just a normal resort town, couldn't be farther from the truth. Silent Hill is a declining town of roughly 30,000 people. Many say the town is haunted, cursed, and even built on an ancient burial ground. People disappear, never to be seen again. Authorities explain it as kidnappings or murders, but they're wrong. There is something much more sinister behind this town that those selected by a supernatural force experience. Everyone else just sees a normal town.
In this world, Silent Hill's layout is exactly the same. However, it is blanketed by a thick fog, with visibility only being just 10 feet. There is no signs of life, everything has decayed. Buildings in disrepair, windows broken. Debris and crashed cars lining the streets. Even more odd is that it's snowing in the middle of June. All the normal sounds of the world are gone...all that remains is silence. You'd think you were alone, but you're not. People do live in this world, but you don't need to worry about them. Instead...worry about the creatures. Twisted, decayed, and morbid monsters of all shapes and sizes hunt the streets. Where they came from is unknown. Escape from Silent Hill is not possible, or so it seems. All roads leading out of the town are either blocked or completely torn away. This reality is known as the fog world. More terrors lay beyond, but they cannot all be described.
In this roleplay, the year is 1999. A group of people find themselves in the alternate reality of Silent Hill. Each one of them tried entering the town, but rather than entering the 'normal' reality, they instead found themselves walking into a cloud of fog and into the Fog World. Every one of them came to Silent Hill for a different reason. Some simply were just passing through. Others were looking for a vacation. However, there are more mysterious circumstances, such as people receiving letters, phone calls, or even dreams of dead loved ones telling them to come to Silent Hill. In spite of each individual's different intention, the group all has one thing in common: A scarred past. All of them have been through a dark period in their life. Whether the were victims, criminals, or something else, it all holds relevant in the mysterious realm of Silent Hill.
Many horrors await. Everyone must work together if they are to survive the hell that awaits them. But they are not completely alone. A strange man's voice behind an intercom guides them. The stranger behind this voice in a security room, somewhere in the town, with an eagle-eye view over the majority of the town due to street cameras. He is knowledgeable of the town and its current events, and knows what must be done to escape....but that's easier said than done. They'll have to survive the town, its horrors, its people, and above all else...themselves.
