ONE-FOUR-ONE PRODUCTIONS ORIGINALFive years ago, part of the midwest was changed forever. At a certain time of day, a small earthquake rippled through the states. As eyes turned to see where it came from they found it: A large, foggy dome had covered all of Chicago, and subsequently most of Illinois and some of Lake Michigan. Nothing living could get in, and nothing living could get out. What's worse, several odd occurrences began happening, most involving civilian fatalities, until a truth was revealed:
Whatever had opened, whatever had closed off the Windy City from the rest of the world, had let other things in, familiar things.
Slashers, ghosts, zombies and the like had begun to pop-up around the city. And there was nothing that the people in Chicago could do about it, except get used to it. The police force expanded quite a bit, people watched for death flags, and a curfew was sometimes initiated when more dangerous entities bled into areas of the city.
And life moved on.
However, some people are fed up. Maybe something killed one close to them, maybe they were in a near-death situation, but they're sick of whatever happened, and want to help stop it. One day, they get an email from a nondescript company calling themselves, 'A WAY TO HELP'. While this had every sign of a trap, you couldn't think of any other opportunity, and you go. It turns out that a hidden organization, the Jarvis Company, has been working with an underground in the Chicago Police Force, and is beginning a protocol called the Department of Final Cuts, which they have offered a position to you. In a world of horror from movies, books, series, and all other kinds of media, will you accept and contain these villains for good?
Perhaps you'll even discover the mystery behind the rift?
01
THE LORE!
Also known as the Bookish One or Librarian. Interested in history of books, movies, and other kinds of more classic horror media, as well as IRL Chicago history and backgrounds. Role in the team usually includes note-taking for missions and containment procedures.
02
THE SCIENCE!
The one that helps with the smarter end of things. Enjoys any kinds of science, perhaps forensics, chemicals, physics, etc. Integral part in engineering and building traps/containers for the entities to keep them from the rest of the city. Maybe they're a student, or a professional between jobs?
03
THE AUTHORITY!
The name of 'authority' is not just one meaning. This could be related to a previous job they had (or one they have now), their personality, or even just their designated role as 'leader' of some kind of project. Depending on what you decide is what The Authority will become.
04
THE MEDIA!
Has an occupation in/for/of media, including the likes of a reporter, weatherman, or even social media influencer. Should be at least moderately popular, and have some influence over the dome they are in. Their main aiding in the team relies on their ability to get the team in and out of places most people couldn't usually, since the Department of Final Cuts isn't an official polcie authority.
05
THE DRIVE!
Their role? Plain and simple: The getaway driver. Their credentials? Maybe everything, maybe nothing. The Driver could've been made for skill, or maybe just because no one else would do it. But they just need someone to get them around quickly and efficiently.
06
THE YOUTH!
Someone in the know with the young'ins! You need different perspectives when stopping slashers and monsters, and one from a younger demographic is always perfect for evading killers and trying to think how they think (even if they may be used for bait from time to time..).
