That's when two of their strongest heroes entered the scene. A hero known as Captain Black Hole who wore a giant cloak made to pattern the stars and a simple purple mask to hide his face. From the other side, was the super villain Master Vortex, a man who's body shifted and warped while he walked. Each had their own plan, to suck the other into the void where they could die. They both unleashed the attack, almost at the same time, it was thought to be a simple attack....until. "Wait...what's happening....what's-" What either hadn't counted on is that their powers would merge, creating a vortex of unimaginable power. Everything in the area was sucked into the thing, including the city.
The world had grown quiet, it would be forever known as The Fall of Supers. Those next few days had come with confusion and depression. What was the world to do?
Present Day
It has been two years since The Fall of Supers. Without the heroes of the world, crime rates have sky-rocketed though most being petty. The police have had to take back the law though being underfunded and the new scare has left them very small. The remaining heroes of the world have vanished, refusing to come out of hiding as they too had lost loved ones and friends to the fall. Same with the villains as they too have gone into hiding though for different reasons, to plot, to scheme on how to take over the world. Though who probably suffered the most, were the sidekicks. 3 years ago, they were told that they would be lead by a hero, they would be training with celebrities, icons, and a full year is what they got. The villain subordinates suffered as well, without a mentor, what could they do? That's when the chief of police stepped up to give his thought on what to do.
"We should make the sidekicks go out into the field."
"ARE YOU FUCKING INSANE! THEY'RE CHILDREN!
"They're superpowered children who could probably beat everyone in this room. The purpose of sidekicks are people who can take the job when the heroes are gone. So, make them do their damn job. Because a world without heroes, is a world where the villains can get an upper hand. Do you really want that?"
The group of heads looked at each other, the man was right. They were without hope and sending these kids to handle the bigger crime could benefit them. Heroes did the same thing, though they came as adults, it was still something they needed to do. The people of the world needed new symbols of peace, they needed....a world of sidekicks.

Welcome to the world of sidekicks, where being a hero is a paying job, most of the heroes and villains of the world are dead, and you have to put your trust in their sidekicks. Fun!
Like stated above, the world has been thrown into unbalance. So, in order to keep the peace, the sidekicks of heroes have been thrown into the ring as the new protectors of the world. As a sidekick, it's your job to protect the streets, stop subordinates and villains, and follow the law unless the situation calls for you to break it.
Though it's not just them, the villains subordinates were also without hope. That is, until a mysterious villain only known by the name The Caller has created a network for them to work under, gives them job and pay though their identity is a secret. Any who refuse them are made enemies and will be hunted by the assassins he keeps in every corner of the city.
Heroes and villains are scarce in the world, meaning you don't have anyone to rely on in the world. And there are more then just them, you have the police and detectives working to try and hunt The Caller and his entourage. However, maybe you don't want any, you want to be a vigilante or a villain who disobeys the system. Just know that this means death is more likely and you won't have much of the power the sidekicks and subordinates have.

3) Death is possible in this RP. Don't think you're indestructible.
4) Supervillains are played by D duegxybus . I know this seems somewhat strict, but it's merely so that we don't have to deal with snowflakes or overpowered characters. Now, allow me to list the jobs and benefits/disadvantages to your job.
Sidekick

-Must give up weaknesses and identity to the government

-You lack proper hero training
-Any unherolike actions will result in a fine
Police
+Less likely to be targeted
+Have order over sidekicks
+Deal with petty theft, small scale crimes, basically you are a lot safer
-A lot less durable
-High chance of dying if you attack a villain
-Can only handle small scale crimes
Subordinates
+You don't have to follow the law
+If you're good with The Caller, you can ask for personal favors or more dangerous equipment
+Payed job
-You don't have very high grade weapons/equipment
-More likely to die as you are expendable
-Must follow The Caller or be hunted
