Restriction: Only for those of the Warrior and Paladin class
Shields are used to reduce the damage of an incoming attack when held up to intercept that attack. Unless stated by the shield it only will work on physical attacks including hit by a melee weapon or an arrow. Only special shields will stop or deflect a magical attack aimed at the player. While using a shield you are unable to attack or use any offensive skills.
The amount of damage reduced while using a shield is: Strength stat x2 = % Damage reduced
After 50 points have been put into strength a 15% chance of a guard break comes into effect. During this guard break the player is unable to use their shield and stunned for 5 seconds. Also as 50 would give you 100% damage reduction while using a shield adding additional points will do nothing for this. Also there is also a 5% chance that any arrows fired will be deflected back to the shooter.
