Realistic or Modern Shattered GLASS [A Modern Superhuman Story] (Always Open)

GLASS Warehouse 17
Ecto had to process what Delilah said for a moment. The fuck? Nobody had checked the cameras yet as he had only now mentioned it, but someone then immediately said that they were probably down? The I.T technicians really had to get their shit together if everyone knew their cameras were already down without checking.

Either way, he continued to follow the Unit and stayed near the front just in case for the same reasons as previously mentioned.

Lieutenant Manuel Clarke, X-Rank

The makeshift wall easily crumbled, briefly stunning the lieutenant. God damn. Of course, he had seen supers before, even ones far worse than Delilah at that, but every brief show of competence like that only made him all the more aware of how outmatched he was standing next to those with real powers, as opposed to his... Whatever one would call it. Anti-power, perhaps? At the very least he could bring those greater than himself down to his level, but that didn't amount to much next to those that could casually bring down walls, or whoever tore the ceiling off of this damn warehouse...

Speaking of which, the thought did bring him out of his momentary stunned state, letting him instead turn to answer the soldier bringing up the security cameras. "Certainly." He nodded. "Had the building been even remotely intact, perhaps we could have done that, but the situation is what it is. For now, let's keep moving." Tense as he was, it did not even occur to him that the fellow GLASS operative was who he was. As far as he was concerned, Agent Judai was still MIA.

Truth be told, the silence unnerved Manuel, and as the forces made their way inside, it proved to be for good reason. What they found inside of the warehouse after careful closing in was... Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Blood, the wrecked pieces of body armor and weaponry. Blood. Plenty of rubble. Clear signs that a battle had occurred, yes, but to Manuel's great chagrin, there was nobody there. Not even any bodies to recover. Soon enough, the area had been secured, but none of the lost GLASS soldiers could be found. Though Manuel did all he could to hide it, his poker face had never been perfect, and he was visibly shivering by the point that the reality of the situation was made apparent. At least ten soldiers, status unknown, because he had been too slow to act, because he hadn't been there...

"...Damn it all."

He said nothing, not a single thing. Not when he arrived, not when she talked and certainly not when he was flung 5 feet away from a slight love tap... The power gap was enormous, but he's handled worse. he stood up and saw the grenade and the guard... This is not good. In quick succession, he threw a freeze charge, basically a glorified ice grenade to her hand at which point her hand and the grenade froze. He then charged towards her, mostly as a distraction to keep her from killing the guard.

She giggled happily but flinched when her hand froze solid. Growling she hooked the guards cevlar with her foot and swung around launching the guard at her enemy with brutal force. Quickly running back to the vault while the man dealt with the flying guard she smashed the frozen hand on the door feeling herself before she growled and realed back. Sparta kicking the door which sounded like a howitzer going off in the room it blew the door off leaving the vault open. "You really want to play this game?" She asked the man in armor as she walked around to were the massive vault door was between him and her then kicked it launching to massive door at him while some of the heist men rushed in and started to collect the loot

Alexis Morton "Pura" - GLASS Warehouse 17

Alexis was as surprised as everyone else to find the warehouse entirely empty, devoid of anything living and almost anything else either. She glanced around nervously as she entered, and then raised her negative field, encompassing a few C-ranks with the faint orange energy. She kept it this way for a minute or two, before it became clear that there really wasn't a threat, at which point she lowered it to conserve her strength.

She wasn't as impressed as Manuel by Delilah's powers, seeing them as essentially routine by this point. She was impressed by the effort that someone had gone through to hide this all away, though. What was even the point? To mess with their minds? If that was the case... it was certainly working.

There was, however, blood and debris littered over the floor of the warehouse, which was something that she do something with. She signalled to a group of particular C-ranks to move in, and begin analysing what they could of the scene, taking quick samples for later testing. They might not ever know exactly what'd happened here... but they could at least try to figure out who was involved.

The strong scent of iron hit her first, then the sight of blood. The floor was slick, and the bottom of her boots were already staining. This was horrific, and the sight caused her to go into a mode that kept her from vomiting. Unfortunately, many of C ranks were either on the verge, or had already lost any food they had. That didn't mean she didn't feel it. Most of her hope that anyone had survived, but she felt like maybe Sammie stood a chance. Albeit small.

She worked along with many of the others to secure and search the area. She had to help move the debris to search for any signs of either life, or bodies. Neither of which were found. Strange on its oen, it reinvigorated her small bit of hope someone them lived. But there was so much blood... She now sat on on of the trucks, staring at her slightly stained hands. With a sigh, she stood again, running her hands trough her hair, as she walked over to Alexis. "This is fucking wonderful isn't it," She muttered with dry sarcasm. "Anything I need to move?" (Didn't notice that Booster was talking to Cinder.)
"Thank you!" Cinder called out to the leaving truck, happy that the man chose to share Booster with her instead. Now she could cause all the chaos and mayhem that she wants all on her own. Well, technically not on her own since Booster is with her, but they're together anyway so it still counts as alone. She's worked with Booster once before, and it was absolutely awesome! They totally wrecked the docks that day. That was a good day.

"Oh I'm completely ready." Cinder said with a grin as she grabbed Booster's hand. Once they've merged, Cinder could feel the power surging through her. "Oh yeah baby! I AM ALL POWERFUL!!!!" She screamed at the top of her lungs. Smoke and ash started covering her body, covering her like a second skin. Her eyes were glowing like burning embers, long and sharp claws were forming on her hands and feet and a long tail with a razor sharp blade at the end even grew out of the end of her spine.

"AHAHAHAHAHA!!! TRY TO CATCH ME YOU WORTHLESS PIECES OF SHITS!!!" Cinder screamed as she fired a dense and burning ash bomb, exploding once it hits wall of te warehouse. Ash and smoke started to create a storm with Cinder as its center, the ash fragments dense enough to pierce through exposed skin and the smoke thick enough to conceal herself. Oh this will be a glorious day.

Alexis Morton "Pura" - GLASS Warehouse 17

The blood and grime was something had never really bothered Alexis. She didn't like it, obviously... but she didn't see why other people struggled with it so much. It was only natural, after all. As such, she didn't mind being down on her knees to get the job done.

"Yup, I don't know what went down here, but it certainly wasn't pretty," she replied to Delilah. "Uh... there's not much around to move, unless you want to--"

She was interrupted by a semi-molten ball of ash flying over the wall of the warehouse, landing inside due to the lack of a roof. It immediately exploded into thousands of fragements, moving at a reasonably high velocity.

She reflexively raised her negative field around herself, orange energy surrounding her, inadvertently encompassing Delilah too. This was thankfully strong enough to cause the dangerously sharp ash fragements that'd been flying in her direction (and every other direction, although that was a seperate issue) to dissipate harmlessly into smoke.

Alexis slowly stood up off the ground, slowly moving towards the source of the explosion. She could see the smoke coagulating outside the building, something instinctively filling her with dread.

Annabell immediately giggled. "About time you decide to pick it up. I was starting to get bored with you." She said as she started walking for him as well a vicious insane filled look in her eyes as she picked up her speed as the heist men moved around the two loading the money into trucks that were parked in the main room. "Come on show a girl a good time." She said to him trying to edge him on to attack her, try to beat her down into submission. "What dont think you can beat a little 18 year old?" She asked him teasingly

Lieutenant Manuel Clarke, X-Rank

Manuel had been pacing the halls of the warehouse in silence, doing what he could to find anything of use. He did not want to admit it, but a loss cutting this deep hurt him. He had seen death before, of course. Both against ARK and during the Surge, but back then, he had not been in charge. As responsibility was thrust upon him, he too ended up personally responsible, and it hurt him. It hurt him badly. More than he wanted to admit, and certainly more than he could allow himself to show to the rest of the squad. He had to be the supporting pillar of his soldiers. Unwavering.

Thus, it was almost a blessing to him when the ball of ash and cinders it, exploding and sending burning projectiles of ash in all directions. Though he could feel some light burns, his body armor took most of it and the slight sting of pain immediately kicked him out of his moment of melancholy, and back into action. Fighting, he knew how to do. "Cinder!" He called out through his comm link, immediately activating the breather on his mask to deal with the coming asphyxiation, proceeding to inform his soldiers to do the same. "Breathers on, get to cover! It seems ARK wasn't quite done just yet!" He commanded through his earpiece, throwing himself behind a piece of rubble to get a good, proper look at the typhoon of a smoke screen rolling into the warehouse. Why was she back? They already had all that they could ask for. Was it simply a twisted wish to destroy? Again, a pang of familiarity. He had met that kind of people in Iraq, on both sides. He knew how they worked. He knew what to do. Immediately, he began cooking up a plan.

"Operatives Pura and Harolds, to me! Something is enhancing her powers, this degree of smoke is wholly unreported from Cinder before. It needs to be taken care of now!"

She knew there wasn't much to do, but she needed something to do. She hated the idea of losing people just about as much as Manuel did. It was easier though now they weren't under her command. Her time it he military she was a Commander. People died all the time, and she did her best to keep it from happening. Keep g her hand vist was something she could do to help cope a bit, even now. Though she may not have been close with those lost. "Alright I'll j-Shit!"

A ball of something exploded not to far from her. She felt the initial heat way just a met second before the blast nearly knock her over. She just managed to keep on her feet, and thanks to Alexis shielding her, Delilah' s clothes were burnt. As soon as she realized who it was, her mask was back on with the breathers running. "Alexis, you alright?" She asked quickly, before she heard Manuel's voice. "Yes sir," she replied, "Geez desk jockey, you don't go towards the explosion. Fall back with me, come on," she said, grabbing at the other woman's arm. Deucalion Deucalion WhipDing WhipDing CrimsonEclipse CrimsonEclipse

Alexis continued taking a few more steps before realizing what it was they were dealing with. Or rather, who - she'd never encountered Cinder herself before, but she'd heard the stories, of course. This wasn't something she could deal with on her own.

She was snapped out of her almost trance-like state by Delilah tugging on her arm. She stumbled backwards for a moment, then finally came to her senses, putting on her mask like everyone else. The Lieutenant's orders took priority right now - he knew what he was doing, right? She turned around properly and followed the red-headed girl over to Manuel.

Cinder laughed in glee when she saw the GLASS minions come out of the warehouse. Finally, she can tear flesh and break bones. Her body is reinforced by ash, making her stronger and sturdier, while her joints and limbs are made of smoke for increased range and maneuverability. She is essentially all ash and smoke at this point, no more fleshy and fragile body parts that can be punctured or pierced.

Cinder's right hand shot towards an agent, her claws sinking inside its chest before pulling the pitiful victim back to her. "Aw, are you afraid that you're gonna die?" She sarcastically said as she bashed the poor bastards skull, brain matter leaking all over her claws. She didn't go as far as lick it, since while it may be a terrifying sight, it would he super gross to her as well. She was a crazy murderer, not a cannibal.

She spotted another agents, this one in a group of three. As if that would stop her. With a piercing screech, she charged towards the three. The three, in their panic, open fired at Cinder. This proved useless as either the bullets passed through her or got stuck in the ash. She caught one in her claw and crushed her while the other was speared by her other claw. The last one tried to escape but unfortunately was dragged back by her tail.

"I've always wanted to try this." She said as she held the agent in front of her. The ash exterior suddenly formed a mouth filled with razor sharp teeth. From within the mouth came a stream of burning ash as it flew straight into the agent's face. His scream was awful as e could feel the gas mask slowly melting off his face, and his face coming off with it. It was a slow and awful way to die, but Cinder reveled in it. "DIE YOU WORTHLESS SCUMS!!!" She screamed as she fired a barrage of ash bullets at the bulk of the agents, ripping holes in walls and bodies.

Oh dear lord. It did not take long before men began dying, Manuel was now convinced that there was no other motivation aside from pure sadistic glee behind Cinder's actions. A psychopath given far more power than any child her age had any business having. As expected, they had to shut it down and bullets were not going to cut it. Luckily, he had an idea. Staying behind cover, Manuel slowly moved around the battle... No, the slaughter, doing what he could to get a good visual of the young monster. Using the comm link, he could whisper and still make himself heard clearly by the other two operatives. As he moved, he gave Delilah and Alexis both a quick hand signal to follow him.

"Morton, you can shut down the control she has over her ash from a distance. That's good. You're going to stick close to Harolds and make sure..." He cut himself short, shuddering as the sound of screaming and the smell of burning rubber assaulted his senses. "...Make sure that doesn't happen to her."

Then, he went on to Delilah. "Harolds, run distractions. With the protection from Morton and your durability, you should be fine keeping Cinder's attention some. If we're lucky, she'll be too caught up in her power trip to notice me sneaking through the battlefield. 'Specially considering I'm masked, I look like nobody special. I'll sneak in close and cancel out that smoke form of hers. Once I've done that, I need you two to help me subdue her properly for interrogarion. Got that?"

He paused for a second, not waiting for a response. "...Cinder returning might be a blessing in disguise. If we can get her to spill where ARK's holing up..."

Once they had joined up with Manuel, Delilah gave a brief frustrated sigh. It's never easy with ARK, and while she didn't expect it to be, they didn't have the man power to deal with her right now. Severely underfunded, they couldn't get anymore manpower without waiting valuable resources, and then their lead would tear into them. She hardly noticed Manuel moving, his hand signal just barely catching her eye. The woman nodded, for once, proud to be short as she we in less danger of peeking out of cover than the other two were.

When Manuel began to quietly give orders, she nodded. Though she wouldn't say it, She wasn't the biggest fan of being the bait...everytime. She knew why she was volunteered, but she'd really liked to be asked once in a while. Delilah would agree of course because she could take a lot of damange, it would still be nice if they just asked. She looked at Alexis, knowing the other woman would have her back, before sneaking out of cover.

"Hey! You crazy bitch! Kids like you shouldn't have power like that, it's wasted!" Delilah shouted, once she was a bit away from the other two. Hopefully they had stayed in cover. The C ranks who were still alive all were terrified and wondering what the he'll she was doing. Though as the bullets she made started to fly, She did have to briefly take cover again, only emerging again when they had stopped. "You really need to be more creative." Ecto had to prevent Cinder's initial attack from harming him by stopping the ash coming at him in mid air. As it dropped, it inadvertently created a small puff of smoke. By the time his vision had cleared, others had already began engaging Cinder.

As Cinder fired her ash bullets, many of them suddenly started changing direction in flight as they looped round back towards Cinder. He didn't know if Cinder's own attacks would affect her, but at least it would save a lot of soldiers for now.

Cinder snorted when a GLASS agent started taunting her. They seem to think that she's stupid, that because she's a kid and a homicidal maniac that she is a stupid person. Fuck them and fuck them again, that'll cause their deaths. Taunting a well known superpowered serial killer who's on a killing spree? Obviously they're distracting her from something. That's Diversion 101 people! Anyone that watches a movie, reads a book, or plays a goddamned video game knows that!! Do they think she's stupid?! Are they insulting her?! The muthafuckin Cinder?!! Oh,, they will all fucking pay. "FUCK YOU BITCH!! WHY DON'T YOU STOP TRYING TO DISTRACT ME AND COME FACE ME HEAD ON!!!" She screamed fired lances of ash, skewering through a few agents and passing through them to skewer a few more. What's even more insulting is when some moron tried to fire her ash bullets back at her. "OH COME THE FUCK ON!!! DID ONE OF YOU STUPID FUCKS ACTUALLY THOUGHT THAT WAS GONNA WORK?!! GET THAT FUCKER HERE AND I MAY SPEND THE REST OF YOU SORRY ASS BITCHES!!!" She roared, insulted by the sheer stupidity that one moron possesses.

Her danger sense started pinging when some of the ash in the storm started to disappear. Not deflected nor reflected, it just disappeared. "Oh you motherfuckers." She muttered, finally noticing their plan. They wanted to distract her from someone sneaking up on her, someone with the power to negate powers. After all, how else could the ashes and smoke just disappear? Unless they have another one with the same power set as Cinder there would be no other explanation. If Cinder had been in her regular form without any boost, she would have been undoubtedly get caught in the trap. Boosted by Booster though, not really. Due to the power boost, she can sense everything that is in her ash storm. Good news for her, not so much for GLASS. "IF YOU WON'T COME TO ME, THEN I'LL COME TO YOU!!" She roared as she charged towards the agents, obliterating everyone in her way. She keeps her distance from the ambusher while killing as much agents as she could.

Shit! She had either seen through the plan, or she was simply not as predictable as Manuel had hoped. He cursed out loud as Cinder grew all the more maniacal, charging forward straight to the mass of soldiers. Luckily, that also meant the other two operatives he had enlisted, which should put her in range for...

"Morton, field up now!" He shouted through the comm link. Cinder had clearly noticed his movements, but in her maniacal rage she hadn't considered that there were two of them. One of which could work over an area.

Either this kid was just so blood crazed she thought she was invincible, or she was just completely fucking nuts. And Delilah now thought she should have just thrown some thing, but there's not that much to throw. Beside bodies and broken things of course. The kid screamed bout facing her head on, to which Delilah replied, "I'll be more than happy to." She was ready, who cares if she got hurt by this anyway, Delilah was angry. She was more than ready to fight this little shit.

"A scrawny little bitch like you doesn't scare me," She added. Sure, cliche thing to say, but it was true. This was just some power hungry kid who thought they could take anything they wanted. Obviously she didn't get much attention as a child. But hey, if you think about it, her distraction was working. The taunting normally did. I mean, She was cheating at Delila...oh shit the crazy bitch was charging her.

Fucking wonderful that is. She managed to roll out of the way of the rampaging kid in order to keep from being burned. Though she was in no real danger of that anyway. It would just suck so loose her favorite jacket. But she had no time to focus on that. Looking around for the heaviest thing she could throw, it turn out to be a bit of steel beam from the roof. Perfect actually. Should distract her again, and with that, Delilah picked it up and threw it at Cinder. CrimsonEclipse CrimsonEclipse Deucalion Deucalion WhipDing WhipDing

Alexis Morton "Pura" - GLASS Warehouse 17

Alexis had understood the plan... but that didn't mean she was happy about it. She stayed close to Delilah, as instructed, not yet activating her abilities - she was going to need to conserve her stamina for when it actually mattered the most. As it turned out, though, Cinder was significantly smarter than she'd anticipated - she'd apparently figured out that she was being distracted, and was taking out her anger on some of the numerous C-ranks that'd attempted to surround her. She wanted to charge in and try to protect some of them, maybe give them a way to get away... but orders were orders. Besides, the Lieutenant had to pretty close to taking her down regardless, right?

Of course, that's not what happened. The slaughter only got worse and worse, with most troops pulling back, just to stand a chance. And then, she changed tactics. Rather than attacking them as they came... she hurtled forwards, the ash being tearing through operatives like they were made of wet paper. And of course, heading straight for both Alexis ad Delilah.

She heard Manuel giving the order over her earpiece, but she already knew what to do. She waited until the last possible second to raise her field, it encompassing her and the few people around her just in time to potentially shield herself from the assault. With the amount of power that she was about to block, she had no idea if she could actually stay conscious - but at the very least, she'd disable Cinder for a moment or two.

Connor Morton "Booster" - GLASS Warehouse 17

This was far, far tougher than he'd anticipated. Cinder had apparently grown a little smarter since their last encounter, and as such, he was utilizing his abilities to a much greater extent, pushing the limits of what he could actually do without overcharging. This, combined with the fact that'd already spent some of his energy during his merger with Iso, meant that he was quicker becoming exhausted.

As the slaughter wore on, he struggled more and more to keep in perfect sync with actions. Once or twice he almost slipped out of the merger entirely. This lead to a few momentary drops in power... but apparently Cinder was so preoccupied with everything else that she didn't even notice. At least, she didn't mention it - and she hardly seemed like the type of girl who wouldn't if it was bothering her. And so he simply suffered on, hoping it'd be worth the status boost in the end.

Her shift in attack was, again, almost enough to throw him off entirely. He kept everything intact, though, still keeping her powers at a reasonably high level. But as they hit the thickest concentration of GLASS members, and passed through Alexis's disabling field, things went pretty wrong.

He saw nothing but bright orange for a split second, before his powers seemed to fade entirely. As such, the merger was immediately broken, his body falling away from hers as if they'd never even been combined. Although he personally passed straight through the field without hitting anything... it did nothing to change the fact that he was moving pretty fast, both forwards and now downwards. He hit the ground, his right arm impacting it first, then rolled and bounced a short distance before coming to a stop.

Exhausted and now battered, he only remained conscious for a few seconds before everything went black.

Things were going pretty well at first. Finally one of the agents had the spine to fight her head on. The girl threw a steel beam at her which Cinder just phased through. She was starting to have more fun, having found someone who wats to fight her. However, shit started to hit the fan when that guy who tried to flank her, the one who can negate powers, yelled something about a field or something.

Cinder instantly felt her powers waning, as if it was weakening them shutting down. "Motherfucking cheaters!" She yelled when Booster started to separate from her. As Booster fall forward, Cinder kicked away from him and started bolting towards a place with no nearby agent. The ability should have a limited range since they waited this long to activate it.

"Fuck you guys!! It's not fun playing with you cheaters!!" She yelled out, bitching and complaining like a little kid who lost a game, which she technically was. Cinder pulled something from her hoodie and threw it behind her. A flash if bright light and a piercing sound exploded from the thjng she threw, which turned out to be a flashbang. She always has that around since her power, while powerful, has a very obvious flaw and she keeps these babies around if she needed to escape, which she's doing right now.

"Come on, come on, fucking work!!" She kept saying to herself, trying to activate her powers. She didn't wven think about Booster who she just left behind. It wasn't her fault that he got caught, so she thought. Besides, they can always break him out of prison later on anyway. For now, she has to get out of here without getting caught. She threw a few more flashbang grenades behind her, ensuring the piercing noises that assaults and causes her ears to ring.

"OH LIKE HELL YOU'RE GETTING AWAY THAT EASILY!" Ecto immediately started running after her when she started trying to escape, extending his arm out to prepare for a telekinetic pull. It was when she threw a flashbang behind her that threw him off due to temporary blindless and ear ringing. As this caused him to get disoriented and fall over, he instead decided to send out a shockwave ahead of him. It wasn't what he had intended as he wanted to pull her back closer to the others, but the consecutive flashbangs that she was now using would not allow him to aim and grab her properly. A shockwave, on the other hand, required very little aim and could easily be pulled off without sight and hearing. The shockwaves he was capable of producing when under the influence of sugar rushes caused by The Awesome Powers of Red Bull along with pained ears from flashbangs were easily capable of sending someone flying. It was extremely painful for most people, too.

He shook his head and knelt up to see if he had managed to get her with it.

The armor lost all capabilities on the left arm. The exosuit was still intact but she hit the exact spot where she disabled all weapons systems on the left arm. But he wasn't so foolish to back down, even though she's young and she's a girl, she's still a criminal. The body would then be tossed aside by him and suddenly he saw her in front of him, a fist that would surely be his downfall.... But suddenly something kicked in, he could suddenly see in slow motion. He thought it was because he trained for years honing his reflexes but in truth, he was a superhuman as well. His powers although subtle gives him an edge in most fights and he doesn't even know he has this power. A normal human would not have any time to react, but suddenly he blocked her punch with all the exosuit power to his right arm, dampening the blow to the point that he felt nothing. Keep in mind all power is now forced to the right arm, that means that the right arm is now probably strong enough to topple an entire building. "No more" he said in his distorted metallic voice. Suddenly he reverted all power to both his arms used his left arm to grab her face.... No not her head, her actual face and he lifted her, then straight up pummeled down to the ground, shaking the building, cracking the concrete and making a shockwave strong enough to topple anyone in a 5 feet radius.

Meanwhile in the suit, there is an AI that helps him. It suddenly displayed "Force from impact has cracked a rib, multiple wounds in lower leg section, recommended to find medical assistance immediately."
