This will be where characters will go eventually. After they receive their sheets.

As a short explanation of how the stat system will work:
The main point of this cut-and-dry rubric is to give players clarity, to get rid of the pesky question, 'is my character able to do this?' Let's just say everyone starts at 1 point in STR, DEX, and END, which equates to that of an average human. That means they can do everything you might expect from an average person, but no more. NOTE: However, that won't mean they won't be able to do things that are beyond their limits. By purposefully pushing yourself, you might be able to reach higher levels temporarily, but at the cost of a consequence. (determined by me, though we can always deliberate.) More on that later. As those numbers raise (or fall), it will affect their performance in respective fields, so players will be able to understand their limitations and thus, will be able to think of ways to work around them. It would allow for a clear sense of danger or threat, as no character will be strong in all areas. Hence, teamwork.

The traits are as follows:
STR = How much physical power you have. Also affects general speed.
END = This is how much you can exert yourself, push your own limits, and how much punishment your body can take. Dictates how long you can do something for a prolonged amount of time.
DEX = Your reaction speed, your athleticism, and precision. Important for performing extraordinary feats well and consistently. Casting speed is somewhat tied to this stat.
SPI = Your affinity towards magic and all things supernatural. How well you control magic is linked to this stat, but how much you can output or sustain special abilities and spells is affected by END. Being as your body itself is the medium.

That said, all characters will start the story with all stats being 1/2, with the outlined power-level outlined in the list below. The exception to this is SPI, which will start at 0. Depending on your choice early on, these values will change. To keep things simple, each stat increase is quite significant. From just point 2, characters will already be encroaching superhuman levels. And it only goes up from there.

To answer any concerns you might have about power-creep, yes it will eventually happen, but I assure that won't be too quick or sudden. 'Essence', which can be used to raise these stats, is only earned after large victories and such and only in small quantities. Usually in just 1. The conversion ratio is also 1:1, for simplicity sake.

IMPORTANT: As an extension to this, adding the first point of Essence into SPI grants your character a unique ability. Their 'Expression', if you will. This power will start off weak and difficult to use, but will grow and evolve as the stat increases. Usually they are unique and exclusive to the character, with no duplicates allowed in the party. As these are drawn from the nature of their very own 'Soul', which is unique to each and every person. More on this in the actual Roleplay.

Alternatively, instead of spending it on stats, you can use the Essence to unlock and empower any special abilities or powers your character might have attained, whether from an NPC or other method.

TLDR; These stats are a 'can I', or 'can't I', sort of system that is meant to push characters and encourage teamwork. There will be NO damage rolls, or luck involved, purely used as narrative tools. Leveling is made as simple as possible, with clear progression, so you can quickly go back and fight some more spooky monsters.

NPC/Follower List:
During your long and fantastical journey, you will come across remnants of this old world. Most of them, though the few there are, have been turned mad by a strange and dreadful curse, ready to kill and butcher anything in sight. But some of them are just sane enough to communicate with. Fulfilling their wishes or doing strange favors, or simply just keeping them company, will often result in... something happening. Maybe they'll tell you the location of a strange artifact, provide some information to overcome an unforeseen threat in your path, even feel indebted enough to pledge themselves to your cause, offering special services and perks. They might just plain have nothing better to offer than their eternal gratitude.

In the end, what you do with them, is your own choice.

'Nera' - Ivory Goddess

The first face the players have met upon waking in this universe, and from what they've learned, is the reason they are there in the first place. The last of the 'Gods', Nera has also explained herself to be the Goddess governing 'Dreams'. She seems an odd sort, sometimes displaying a loving nature in one moment, then flipping to a more ominous and sinister side right in the same. What the power of 'Dreams' might mean, is a different matter. From what it seems though, she cares a great deal over her 'little ones' and will try her best to accommodate their worries, though not without a touch of firmness.

'Cardinals' -- as the races who once ruled the world are known, among them, Humans were the most colorful in idea and culture. They were one of the few races who survived the grand War of Crowns, only to fall victim to the Dread that poured forth afterward. Only remnants of the once-vast empire still exist. Clinging to the madness to survive. She chose not to remember her past. With nothing left to grip onto, she fiercely devotes herself to the Goddess and the grand new purpose she has been given. Perhaps it is better this way.

Black Vessel; Lance and Chakram.
Extra: A tall and mysterious figure, Dwynn's twisted, feral appearance and untamed disdain towards the 'Dread' and those corrupted by the dark source seems to be intertwined. A series of strange tribal tattoos and brass ornaments make up his bare-bones attire.

The half-ones, the Axyra, were said to be descendants of the wild God-like Ancestral Beasts, and were freely able to change physical form. But their very special gift soon became a curse when their dogmatic traditions refused them to nip the unholy poison that infected the World Tree. One which gave the dying ancient a false-life. Even in this new life, a curse as strong and permanent as one infused by blood cannot be unwashed wholly. Would he be able to resist the curdling fury that swells within?

Received Attributes:
-The Shard of Eclipse: After the battle with the twisted beast, Iro was to foolishly partake of the heart of the Judge and be stricken with great pain. Not only this, but a random item was to be given to him after his loss of consciousness. It is unknown what it does or how it manifests.


Extra: This Icon of Anger has a quick temperament and tends to act rashly because of it. Some good comes from his rage, as it allows him to keep pushing the boundaries of his strength and resiliency. In short he never give up. Being gifted (or cursed?) with crimson eyes, it matches his all around aggressive behavior. While human in appearance, there’s much more than meets the eye when it comes to his appearance. Something of evil intent and hellish origin resonates inside of him, which is evident by his demeanor and appearance. Regardless of this he will always fight for himself and those he cares for be it until death.

The clothes he often wears is that of a red collared shirt, plain looking blue pants, and a tan jacket that he has a strange sentimental attachment to. However if he was given the option he’d much rather choose comfortable clothes over the flashy way of dressing he normally uses.


The Curse of Lineages, a plague upon man and beast that works from the shadow. It’s origin is unknown, though some may speculate it to be a curse wrought by a wrothful Entity who was jealous of the power celestial beings held in creating the various species to roam the realm. And so this curse was created, not in the form of any other curse that manifests in the physical form but instead it takes ahold of the victims soul. The curse ails in different ways for each individual, thought the affects are somewhat similar. Once the curse has entirely consumed ones soul, they become twisted and demented beings both of flesh and magic known as Dharma. While they are monsters on the outside, their minds are tortured eternally on the inside preying on their fears, regrets, and anger. Due to the unique nature of the souls curse, the only way to escape its eternal damnation is death. To be killed before it takes ahold of any individuals soul will prevent the manifestation of Dharma. Although considering its power there’s no telling if it can arise once more should a potential Dharma be, resurrected.

Black Vessel: Bladed Stave/Glaive.
Extra: In their time, the Kal`Borias were a ruling class of extremely powerful warlocks that governed the known lands from the Ivory Tower. Magic was abound throughout and many Wonders were erected during their Golden Age. That was until a long forgotten cult sought to open the Gates to the Abyss to resurrect the slain Elder God, Hekataag. Threatened by annihilation, one of the Kal`Borians secretly performed a forbidden ritual to tear through the Firmament, seeking to unleash raw power of the Primal Arcana in an effort to turn back the Black Tide. The Ivory Tower and their allies were successful for a time, closing the depths of the Abyss and routing the Followers of Hekataag. Unknown to them, the rippling Chaos of the Primal Arcana eventually corrupted the Kal`Borian, twisting the Magus' mind and filling it with whispers from beyond the Firmament. By the time the Kal`Borias knew what had gone wrong, it was too late. The tear in the Firmament scourged the lands, ripped wider by the Mad Warlock. And so marked the beginning of the end.

Garbed in robes of deep purple and black, Brielle has no firm recollection of her past or how she is tied to the cataclysmic events that ended her life, and perhaps that of her world. Wrenched from the silence of oblivion by the Goddess Nera, she seeks to regain her memories by growing stronger even as she wanders through this strange forsaken wilderscape; all the while, feeling a strange growing hunger everytime she heightens in strength.

Brielle has auburn hair that falls past her shoulders and emerald green eyes.

The Mousai or "Muse" as some humans in the world called them. Having first been found in a hidden valley within the mountains. The Mousai are a small clan of otherworldly people with the ability to inspire those around them with their presence and words making them loved, listened to and followed. Though capable of becoming great leaders, it is not in a pure Mousai's nature to lead.


A pure muse is easily detectable by their deep emerald eyes, long raven hair, pointed ears and great talent. They live long lives, heal rapidly and can manipulate elements they have a affinity with. With an affinity with the intangible & invisible, like light, sound, spirits or air, the Mousai are light as a feather, they flow on the winds and inspire those who can catch them. Guaranteeing success in all endeavors as long as the muse is by their side. This caused many clan members to be hunted by royals and forced into their homes around the world. However, when a muse is miserable or dies so does the inspiration blessed. Due to this cruel treatment, the Mousai clan in large grew spiteful of humans and often use their inspirational ability to manipulate humans for whatever they desire.

Later muses were peacefully welcomed into royal families and cared for in exchange for their fortune and inspiration. However it is dangerous to let one of the Mousai clan near humans with power as they are likely to take advantage. On occasion a muse and a human could produce a luck child, named as muses did not often succeed in reproducing. Luck children have natural black and white hair and a deep connection to one specific affinity.

Name: Niatiel

Appearance: Much like her silvered weapon, Niatiel's appearance is that of a small and fragile soul. Her hair is a gentle blue, like paint faded from the sun, and falls down loosely around her shoulders. Her face is full of the delicacy of youth, with a bright smile and even brighter eyes the color of warm gold. She wears nothing but a simple sleeveless dress, pale in color and its hem tattered. The only other piece of attire is a thin floral crown, sat comfortably around a set of small antlers.
