→ about the roleplay

Tip: This roleplay is intended to be loosely based off of the television show Shameless (US).

The story depicts the poor and dysfunctional family of Rockefeller McGee, a single parent "raising" three(or more, who knows with him) children who spend most of their time drunk,high, or seeking out trouble. In the meantime, the children are forced to care for themselves, relying heavily on Lucifer, a.k.a Lucky, for support, while also trying to cope with the effects the parent’s alcoholism has on the family.

Environment
The family lives in a standard, two story house in a poverty stricken neighborhood. The house was inherited from the Parent’s family and rent is primarily paid for by the combined income of the older siblings. The house includes one full bathroom, one half bathroom and five bedrooms. It is in decent condition and does not currently require any major fixes.

What's Happened So Far...
"Oh, man... you really gon' make me go through all of this again? Too high for this shit... Here's what you missed on Shameless." - Charlie McGee

To kick off the week, the Neighborhood's 'friendly' gang boss, Malik Hughes, just got out of Juvie. But he wasn't too happy to find that his second in command, Booker Frye, has been playing babysitter to the McGee's second youngest boy, Charlie McGee the entire time. But neither has the oldest brother, Lucifer "Lucky" McGee, been happy about this either. He was even less happy when he found their dad, Rockefeller "Rox" McGee, asleep on their couch.

Fast forward a week later and the neighborhood decided to throw a block party to celebrate the last few days of freedom before school starts. Here's where it gets a little dramatic. Rox got Charlie McGee to lie to Lucky to get the oldest brother out of the house. The lie happened to be that Booker was selling drugs to the younger McGee sister Kristina McGee and has been using Lucky's name to do it! Pretty fucked up, Chucky. It worked to get Lucky out of the house, though. Lucky went straight to Booker, disrupting one of Malik's jobs to sell drugs to the block party attendees, and a fight ensued. Booker took some hits. Malik kicked the shit out of Lucky. But nobody hit quite as hard as when Lucky ended the fight in front of the crowd by kissing Booker straight on the lips. Charlie's now hiding from everybody with Leliana James, probably the only sane person in this place.

Oh.... and their shitty dad managed to steal all of Lucky's savings for school and the winter.

It's pretty alarming what a simple lie can do, right?



So, as previously stated, this roleplay is going to be based off of Shameless. Knowledge of the series and its plot is not a requirement to join. All characters involved should be original and unique. Please keep in mind, for this roleplay, realistic faceclaims are preferred. Please refer to the guidelines for any additional questions.

We could use friends for the McGee's (kinda like what Veronica and Mandy were for Fiona and Ian, respectively), and there is always room for love interests (it's not fair if Lucky gets all the crushes)

I have an idea for a character (cousin to one of the residents who is out) sent to live with their relatives, but with a plot point being that one of the men are actually my characters biological father. which turns out to be the reason my character is sent to live there
