The sun was just beginning to set over the Philadelphia skyline, turning the usual powder blue to a smattering of oranges, magentas, and violets. The city behind was a bustling mess of idle chatter, car horns, and engine sounds. But near the ports and dockyards on the river, the city had become more of an ambiance of background noise that accented the serene environment. A large brick building overlooked the water, many of the glass windows either cracked or missing altogether. The chains that once bound the doors closed were long cut for vandals or, in this case, worse to enter. The water splashed against the pillars holding the nearby dock afloat, creating a rhythmic beat that was fairly calming. But there was anything but calm in the air as the group of hunters moved towards the abandoned warehouse, knowing full well that what lay inside could mean their untimely demises.

Raven Clarke slid through the shadows of the alley, peering out towards the warehouse across the street. Her signature matte black compound bow had sadly been left behind in their motel room, along with her quiver and arrows. That combined with the black leather booty shorts under a chiffon skirt, lace lingerie top, leather jacket, and thigh-high black heels left her feeling rather naked. If it weren't for the steel throwing knives forged with vervain tucked clandestinely into one boot and the serrated hunting knife strapped to her side under her jacket, she would feel entirely unprepared. It certainly wasn't her normal attire. But, taking the place of the unsuspecting blood bags that had been originally requested was a no-brainer and required a certain look. What those creatures had planned to do with the poor girls they hired to come to their little soiree, Rae wasn't sure she wanted to know. And, if things went as planned, she never would.

When the Organization had heard of the vampiric band of brothers, it had seemed like the perfect opportunity to both gain some intel and take out some lowly bloodsuckers. From what she could tell, they were older vampires, perhaps well-traveled and well-connected among their species. And if they weren't, their deaths would still be just as sweet. In Raven's six years with the Organization, her blades had beheaded more vampires and other so-called "supernatural" creatures than she cared to keep track of. One day they would take the life of the vampire that killed her parents. But, until that moment, she would have to be content with what she could get, including the four men that were on the other side of the brick wall.

Rae turned back to her small group, nodding at the other three women that had joined her. She was confident in Elektra's abilities to have her back but was a bit wary of Arianna and Rowan. Her partnership with the former had been rocky from the start and, despite Ro's best efforts, she was still the most inexperienced of them all. But, at least they had back up in the Jake, Charlie, and Paul, the three older male hunters who joined them. They would be sticking to the shadows outside, waiting for the perfect moment to ambush. Seven well-trained hunters against four measly vampires? They were sure to succeed. With those final thoughts, Raven took a step out into the dingy street lamps towards the doors of the abandoned warehouse. Blood was certainly about to run. She just hoped that it wasn't hers.

"This is the life, ain't it, boys?" Malakai Scott said, bringing the bottle of bitter amber liquid to his lips. He took a large swig, grinning at the burning sensation as it went down. Even in death, hundred-year-old whiskey still hit the spot. Death was a funny thing like that. The first hundred years or so after he had died and come back had been utter torture. America had just become its own entity and wasn't quite sure what it was doing with itself yet, so chaos tended to run amuck. He had plenty of money from his lordship to survive on. But, some people had become suspicious of the random murders in town by exsanguination, and he was forced to move for fear of being found out. As a fledgling vampire, Kai wasn't entirely sure how to control himself. He was constantly thirsty, stronger and faster than he knew what to do with. Mistake after mistake lead to move after move, and it took a while for him both to gain control as well as find a place to call home. But when he did, he stuck around.

Philadelphia was the first place Kai had ever truly considered home, aside from his family's land back in France. Over the years, they grew together. While businesses flourished and more people flocked in awe to the place the Declaration of Independence had been signed, Kai learned to control his newfound powers, including some newer ones he hadn't even been aware he had. Before long, he was the life of every party, a lady's man with a reputation for making large bets and generally winning. Compelling had become far more useful than simply wiping the memories of the humans he drank from. And then, somewhere in the midst of all that, he found his passion: cooking. Sure, Kai was a vampire and didn't necessarily require human food. But that didn't mean he didn't love it anyway. It was something his mother had never really let him do, deeming it a peasant's job. But it was a creative output for him. And honestly, being able to hide blood in food and switch it up now and again wasn't all that bad either.

But growing as a vampire certainly had dire effects on his humanity. The emotions and trauma from becoming a vampire, watching his family die, losing the woman he thought he loved, and running away from home were hidden away as deep as he could shove them. There was little of the proper, polite Lord Scott's son who did as he was told and didn't step out of line. No, instead Malakai had become a charming, selfish, player who cared very little for others. Well, except for the three other vampires he now considered his brothers. Tobias was his partner in crime, his vampiric brother in more ways than one. They were turned by the same vampire, though several decades apart, and actually met a while ago before going their own ways. Trent and Zach were like his big brothers, though Kai was the oldest of the group by a while. Together, they were a rag-tag bunch. But they worked. It was the closest thing to a family he had.

Perched atop an old wooden crate, Malakai took another large drink from the whiskey bottle and sat it alongside him. It was their monthly 'Boy's Night,' which was just a clever name for something that meant they would get together at an abandoned warehouse, drink old alcohol, invite some humans who would inevitably donate their blood, compel them to forget, and party until the morning. Pulling a pack of cigarettes out of his pants pocket, Kai placed one of the cancer sticks between lips and lit it. Inhaling deeply, he grinned at his brothers. "I hope you all enjoy what's on the menu tonight. I ordered from the finest restaurant and by that I mean agency. It's going to be a party!"

Elektra

The day was slowly breaking into evening. The light was receding and the black was not so pitch black just yet, rather some colors were piercing through it as the last rays of sun were trying to make their way through, to shatter the veil of night and end everything evil and sinister before it would completely win. The things that go bump in the night were slowly crawling out of their holes and after the ordinary people, the humans, made way for them. Just like every night, they would come back out and play with the poor wretched humankind who had no idea about the world that was lurking in the shadows.

Elektra Fable was sitting on the edge of the rooftop, legs dangling over the said edge and her hands were folded in her lap. Her thoughts were running wild upon thinking what she was about to do. A few years ago, all she really wanted was a peaceful quiet life with her friends away from this mayhem. Now she was a fully fledged hunter and her prey was that exact scum lurking in the shadows. There were countless nights she spent out there, ripping and slashing, making every single blood sucker pay for what happened to her brother. He was out there. Whoever did that to Alex. He was out there and Ellie was going to get him, no matter the cost. While it was her own blade that ended Alex’s life and Ellie hated herself for it to this day, drowning in guilt every night, it was whoever sank their teeth in Alex’s neck that was responsible for Ellie being out there all alone.

Well, she was not alone per se. Jumping off the edge, she elegantly landed on the balcony below and hopped down the fire staircase to the very ground. It was only a few short moments later that she joined a small group of girls and together, they made their way closer to an abandoned warehouse. Ellie felt almost naked. Sure, her attire was not exactly what she would wear to a usual hunt and it was more revealing than it was not but it was not her revealed skin that made her feel so bare. It was the lack of weapons. There was a knife hidden in her thigh high boot and that was it. The outfit did not allow for anything else to be carried, unless she wanted to fuck the case up right at the beginning.

This was not just some ordinary mission. Never before had the Organization used girls as bait. Sure, they had the back up in the form of male hunters but still, it was the girls who were risking the most here. Moreover, she was surrounded by people she could trust. Raven was an amazing fighter, strong and reliable, sure of her movement. Rowan was practically Ellie’s best friend and she would entrust her with her own life. And Arianna was…well, Arianna. She was here and Ellie had to respect that. Even their differences had to go aside in a situation like that. And while Ellie didn’t have too much respect for the blonde, she was not going to get into shit with her when they were so close to danger. Taking a deep breath, Ellie turned to face the girls and walked a few steps backwards. “Let’s get this party started, ladies, shall we?” she asked and her signature mischievous smirk was sitting on her lips.

Trenton

As much as he disapproved, Trenton Callahan was not going to say anything about Kai drinking directly from the bottle. Instead, he stood up, fixed the collar of his shirt and approached the oldest vampire here, taking the bottle from him only to fill the highball glass in his hand. There were fine things in life and then there were even finer things. Trent and his brothers were certainly consumers of the latter category and Trent was more than aware of it. And that’s how he liked it as he was a firm believer in one thing. They were the royalty. They deserved the treatment of kings. Trent for one had the ancient blood of the royals coursing in his veins and his whole life, the mortal one and this sort of afterlife, he was raised and treated as the future king of the world. He did not deserve less than perfection.

The monthly boys’ night out was about to begin and Trent circled the amber liquid in his glass, examining the color and reflections of light in it for a moment. His left hand disappeared, tucked in the pocket of his jeans, as the glass neared his lips. Whiskey stung his tongue pleasantly and for a moment, Trent held it in his mouth, savoring every hint of flavor in the liquor before it ran down his throat smoothly. It was a good year, perfect for a night like this. As weird as the group was, Trent enjoyed his brothers. He had his own family but it never gave him this strange sense of belonging as these three men, vampires, around him, each in his own way.

“I do hope your selection was more fortunate than the last time. I still feel sick when I remember the scent of cheap perfume and cocaine infused blood of that bleached blonde who kept coming back even after Trent was done with her. He sometimes had that effect on women. They all did. Especially on that druggie street trash as they could sometimes get high on the pain vampire bite could cause. Trent couldn’t get rid of that bitch forever. Until he snapped her neck and cleaned her up in the hospital morgue, disguising her as a random Jane Doe corpse.

Taking a seat on top of old crates, Trent kept sipping his whiskey and pulled out a smooth wooden box, setting it by his side. “The finest import, gentlemen.” he smirked and opened the surprise, revealing a brown of neatly placed, hand-rolled cigars. “I guarantee you, you’ll feel the taste of the skin of young Cuban virgins who rolled these on those tanned thighs.” he grinned. Well, many people considered Trent to be serious and gloomy but if he truly wanted and tried, he could be cheeky as well. He pulled one cigar out and dragged it under his nose, taking a deep breath in. Bitter scent of tobacco entered his nostrils and he suppressed the pleased moan. The vampire was about to cut the end and light up when his sensitive ear caught a sound. For a moment, he remained motionless and then nodded. “I assume the guests are here?”

Rowan Fairday

Night was slowly extinguishing the remaining light from the sunny day, bringing with it the cooler air that usually accompanied the early spring nights in Philadelphia. Rowan tucked her hands into the oversized jacket that was draped askew on her shoulders, resisting a shiver that threatened to prickle her smooth, bare skin. Now was no time to worry about the slight chill in the air- though if that was truly caused by the March night or rather the threat that lay on the other side of the brick walls the group of hunters were approaching, was up for debate. Light blue eyes watched as the sun dipped below the building’s horizon, a small crease forming between the dark eyebrows above. Another day gone, and another day closer to her last. If this wasn't her last, Rowan reminded herself as she turned her gaze back to the alleyway they walked in. Her nightmares hadn't involved her dying by the hand of a vampire, so the young woman felt fairly confident that one way or another she'd survive tonight's mission... but with the lighter in her pocket that she now thumbed absentmindedly, she couldn't rule out the possibility of her demise entirely.

Elektra rejoined the group of hunters as they approached the abandoned warehouse, and Rowan glanced at her friend, offering a nod and a small smile that she hoped didn't betray the cocktail of emotions running through her. The mahogany haired woman hadn't been on a case like this one before, having only joined the organization two and a half years ago. Unlike the other women in the group, Ro knew that her being a part of this assignment had less to do with her abilities and experience as a hunter, and more to do with being a young, attractive woman who could pass as an escort. They needed a fourth girl to complete the ruse, and she fit the part- even if she was still at an intermediate level in her training. To her credit though, with Raven as her mentor, Rowan had shown exceptional growth despite not coming from a hunting background, and had held her own on the other missions she'd shadowed on. Of course, this was the first time there was more than one vampire target to deal with, and three men had been sent along to help tip the numbers in the hunters' favor and ensure the safety of the live bait being used.

This being the biggest case she'd been on was only one reason for Ro's excited nerves though. So far, she'd only accompanied fully trained hunters, often Raven, on kills, which made it difficult for her to accomplish her main reason for joining the organization in the first place. Contrary to the rest of the hunters, Ro didn't actually desire to kill every vampire she came across. Instead, she sought to use allowing a vampire to live as currency for becoming a vampire herself. While being amongst the living dead wasn't quite how Rowan wanted to exist, right now it was the best solution for avoiding a predestined and permanent death. Tonight would be the best opportunity so far for her to possibly execute such an exchange, though the probability was still very low, and this had Rowan reeling with excitement and angst. For a moment she flicked her gaze between Ellie and Rae, wondering for the millionth time if she really was prepared to become the very thing her closest friends despised. While Ro desperately wanted to live, a part of her still hoped that tonight wouldn't be the night she had to make that decision.

Ellie took a few steps out in front of the group, before turning around to face the other women as she walked backwards for the last few yards. Let’s get this party started, ladies, shall we? The wicked smirk on the brunette's lips almost made Rowan feel like they really were about to begin an evening of fun and drinking- something the pair were almost too good at- and she pushed her emotions aside, focussing on the task at hand.

Diving into character, Rowan grinned back at Ellie as she freed her hands from her pockets, stretching them into the air. "You don't have to ask me twice..." She replied, catching Jake, Charlie, and Paul making themselves scarce in the shadows out of the corner of her eye. "Let's hope these men are as entertaining as they are mysterious... Are you sure this is the right place?" She added, feigning ignorance as to exactly who awaited them in case they were listening for the approaching company. "Rusty warehouse on the docks? Kinda kinky, eh..." Ro laughed, finding the door that's chain had been cut, and pausing beside it for a moment. She glanced at Rae, Ellie and Ari, silently making sure they were all ready, before sliding the large, steel door open with exaggerated effort to hide her training in the gym. "Honeys, we're home...!" She called in a sing-song voice as she stepped into the dimnly lit warehouse, ignoring the fact that she was stepping into a feeding room. Rowan had become an expert the last three years at hiding the darkest facts of life behind a well-trained smile, and tonight was no different.

Zachariah Crowley

The technological and societal advancements between the late 1800s when Zachariah Crowley grew up and today were so vast that he felt like he was in a completely different world. And while he was all for equal rights, he wasn't a fan of all the gadgets and gizmos the tech world kept coming out with. If it was up to Zach, he would spend all his time in his shop, creating intricate pieces of woodwork to distract him from a reality he didn’t particularly feel a part of. Luckily, it wasn’t always up to him though, which is what he both appreciated and hated about the de facto family he’d formed with the three other vampires he was now in an abandoned warehouse with. With his sister Julia traveling the world with Wilhelm, Malakai, Tobias and Trenton were the only people the recluse enjoyed the company of- though he’d never confess to such sentiment. Sometimes the others could be irritating and make him question how beings decades or centuries older than him could be so immature. Though to be fair, Trent didn’t fall into this category as often as Kai and Toby. However, on nights like these, Zach was glad that Kai took it upon himself to organize their monthly “Boy’s Night”, complete with victims to feast on, because he surely wouldn’t think to do such things on his own.

The eldest of the vampires lounged on a wooden crate, drinking from an aged bottle of whiskey. This is the life, ain't it, boys? Zach glanced at Kai, raising a glass to toast his observation. He’d long ago learned of Kai’s habit to drink straight from the bottle and was quick to pour himself a glass as soon as the vintage alcohols were opened. A small smirk played on Zach's face, knowing that Trent was likely annoyed despite his maintained composure as he commandeered the whiskey from Kai long enough to pour his own glass. "No complaints from me... tonight." Zach uttered, taking a sip of the amber liquid and feeling its heat slide down the back of his throat. The whiskey was far superior to that sold in most stores these days, but even as old as it was, all the men enjoying it were older. Zach had likely been turned around the time this liquid was bottled, which added a little bitterness to the flavor that he didn't want to dwell on.

Turning his attention back to Kai and Trent as they discussed tonight's menu, Zach tried to re-establish himself in the present rather than losing himself in past regrets. What was done was done, and while he'd struggled with his anger and despair in his earlier years as a vampire, he'd learned the hard lesson that it was best to just accept his way of life and not place any hopes or expectations on it. Though, he did allow himself to share Trent's hope that tonight's meal would be a little more appetizing. While Kai typically had exquisite taste, both in the cuisine he cooked and the blood donors he curated, last month was a rare misstep that had ended in the death of one of the women at the hands of Trent. Zachariah no longer condoned the needless murder of their victims, but he hadn't condemned Trent either for taking care of his own affairs. The death hadn't led back to them, so he wasn't about to get on his moral soapbox and preach about right and wrong. Especially when Zach had done plenty wrong in his life.

"Finest, hm? I'll toast to that..." The dark haired vampire mused, raising his glass for the second time towards Kai and finishing off his glass, before shifting his gaze over to Tobias. "Try not to make such a mess this time though, we're having fine dining tonight." He teased. Trent cracked open a box of cigars, and Zach pushed himself off the beam he'd been leaning against to procure himself one since virgin legs were involved. He was still admiring the bouquet when he heard the same noise Trent did, and turned his attention towards the sliding door. I assume the guests are here? Feminine voices inaudible to any human ear floated through the brick walls and into the warehouse. Deciding to save his cigar for dessert, he left it untouched in the box for safe keeping. "Either that or we have some unsuspecting appetizers..." Zach replied evenly.

The door to the warehouse screeched open, lack of consistent use leaving the tracks and wheels rusted, revealing four svelte figures silhouetted in the dying light of the day. Honeys, we're home...! Echoed through the warehouse as one of the women needlessly announced their arrival as she entered. The young woman sounded spirited and a smile played on her painted lips as she stepped into the dim light of the warehouse. She was obviously expecting a party that would not be taking place this evening, and Zach swallowed the usual pang of guilt that preceded each of his feedings like a pill without water. His eyes traveled to each of the women who followed after the redhead, his blue gaze lingering a little longer over the dark beauty. "Welcome..." He greeted simply, not often a man of many words for strangers beyond his small circle, and gestured for the ladies to join the group. Younger, less-controlled vampires would have pounced on the gaggle of women the second they stepped in the door, but the older men, in years not appearance, had more self restraint and propriety than that. Besides, Zach was still a man, and he liked to enjoy the visual feast before sinking his teeth in- and to Kai's credit, the women tonight were indeed a sight to behold.

The sunset was beautiful tonight. As she and the other hunters made their way towards Philadelphia, she couldn't help but keep her eyes on the sky, unusually quiet during the trip. Now they'd arrived, each of the girls clad in an outfit that was seriously lacking in places to hide weapons. That's what their backup was for, though, the three guys that had come with them. They'd be lurking in the shadows, hopefully unsuspected by the four vampires that Arianna and the other girls would be greeting. It didn't escape Arianna's attention that she and the other girls were the bait here, which was an unprecedented move for the organization, but necessary for this type of hunt. Although she had been compared to a Barbie more than once in her life, Arianna had no problem slitting the throat of any vampire, and tonight was no different.

Tugging the short hem of her dress down further on her thighs, Arianna glanced up as Elektra jumped down from the fire escape to the ground. The girl started walking backwards towards the doors of the warehouse, her invitation to get the party started earning a slight eye roll but also a smirk from Arianna. "It's not a party until we walk in." She smoothed out a few imaginary wrinkles on her dress, lifting her head afterwards and marching towards the door with the others. Her heels clicked along the asphalt, her movements confident and unwavering. She stopped long enough for Rowan to open the sliding door to the warehouse, a chill running down the blonde's spine as she stepped into the place. Her eyes darted to the other three girls, her expression impassive unless you knew her. If you did, you could see the slight seedling of doubt present in her eyes.

But if anyone had something to prove, it was Arianna. It was always Arianna. Shaking off the doubt, Arianna stepped out from behind the others, moving to stand beside Elektra. Although they were far from the best of friends, both girls could act their asses off when it was necessary, and tonight was that night. One of the men welcomed them in his smooth, deep voice, and Arianna's lips parted automatically in response as he gestured for the girls to join them. Four of them, and four of us. A sly smile spread on Arianna's features, and she was the first of the hunters to stride towards the vampires, pretending to be blissfully unaware of what she was walking into. It was the lion's den, and the hunters were the sheep. Only they were in disguise, wolves in sheep's clothing, and the vampires were the ones blissfully unaware.

"Couldn't wait for us to join the party?" She purred, reaching up to tuck a strand of loose, blonde waves behind her ear. Though she could hear a voice in her head telling her that her actions were reckless, she reached for the whiskey bottle sitting on a crate beside one of the vampires. Being this close, she could smell a faint scent of cologne, something that tickled her senses in an attempt to put her at ease. But she wasn't just an ordinary human, and those tricks weren't going to work on her. Wrapping her fingers around the handle, Arianna lifted the opening to her lips, taking a swig straight from the bottle. The liquor burned its way down her throat, but it was far from enough to make her unable to do her job. Lowering the bottle, she swung it back and forth as she turned to survey the rest of the vampires. "No music?"

Toby could do a cartwheel, he was so excited. He practically lived for these monthly "guys nights", and he knew the other guys did too. Yet for some reason, his suggestion to make these nights weekly was always vetoed. He never understood it. It wasn't like they killed their meals-- well, not always, anyway. There was that mishap the month before, and there'd been a few others, but for the most part they tried not to end the lives of the humans. Even Toby, whose bloodlust was real. Hell, the girls for tonight weren't even here yet and he was already salivating at the mouth, ready to pounce as soon as they walked in the door. But he wouldn't. Even though he didn't want to admit it, Trent had gotten through to Toby, at least somewhat, when it came to controlling his urges. Bastard.

Perched on a high stack of boxes, he swung his feet back and forth, loudly banging the back of his shoes off of the boxes. His gaze slid over to Kai, a grin appearing on his lips at the other vampire's words. Trent spoke next, causing Toby to roll his eyes. "The cocaine in the blood was just extra spice." He winked at the other vampire, growing disinterested when his mentor brought out the cigars. He'd never quite gotten the hang of them, and if he wanted to smoke, he'd just pull one from the pack tucked into the pocket of his jeans. Zach seemed interested, but Toby was growing impatient. He had just inhaled to complain when the sliding door slid open, and a feminine voice announced the presence of their meal tickets. Jumping down from the boxes, he landed swiftly on his feet, straightening about a second before they came into view.

He knew he might get a look from Trent for that one, but what was the big deal? They were just going to compel the girls anyway, if they lived. With the hunger coursing through Toby, though, he wasn't sure if his would. But by then, it would be too late for anyone to say anything. His gaze slid hungrily over the girls as they stepped into view, already trying to figure out which one he wanted. His eyes landed on a blonde with sharp eyes, but it was another blonde who stepped forward first. Bold or just incredibly stupid, the one who'd come forward snagged the whiskey bottle, eye fucking Kai and taking a pull of the liquor before she looked at the others. "You need music?" He asked her in response to her question, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively as he slid his phone out of his pocket.

Looking away long enough to find a random station on pandora, he set the device aside as he looked over at the other girls who were slowly making their way over. He looked them all over again, though his eyes kept going back to the first blonde he'd looked at. Deciding to make his choice known to the other men, he slid over until he stood in front of her, his cheshire cat smile present on his lips. "Well, hello there." He reached up, having no qualms about touching her by brushing a strand of hair out of her face. "You are simply... exquisite." He bit his lip as he slid his hand down to hers, taking it in his and stepping back to look her up and down. "I'm Toby. And what might I call you?" Not that he'd remember her name come tomorrow most likely, but for now he could play the game like he was supposed to.

While the sunset that tinted the sky was gorgeous, the midnight ink that shortly overtook it brought a chilling air, both in the literal and figurative senses. Raven felt a shiver slide down her spine, wishing she could have worn something warmer with more places to hide weapons. What she would give to have her bow and quiver thrown across her body. But that wasn't possible because, at least in the beginning, she had to appear like she was getting paid to be there, to be those bloodsucking bastards' "date" for the evening. They were probably hoping for an easy meal, girls that they could compel and drink from and sleep with. The mere thought made Rae sick to her stomach. The Organization didn't tend to use them as bait, at least not often. The decisions that led to that were usually in the field in life-or-death situations. At least she could take solace in the cool metal blades hidden against her skin. The streetlights turned on, illuminating the four girls. It was time for the plan to begin.

The dirty blonde's icy blue eyes flicked to the shadows where she knew the three male hunters were waiting, and she tilted her head in a slight nod. They would wait for the signal, a secret word that was decided on before the hunt. Only one of the girls needed to say it, and all hell would break loose. With that, she returned her attention to the women beside her. Ellie took a few steps towards the warehouse, a smirk on her lips that Rae knew all too well and couldn't help but return. "Yep, this is the address they gave us," she responded to Rowan, taking on the role she was given. She wasn't quite sure she could stand attempting to seduce a vampire, but she had to try. In their short, skin-revealing outfits, the four of them made it towards the heavy steel front doors of the warehouse. Rae's senses were on high alert, and she kept mostly quiet in an attempt to prevent any surprises. She was still a little wary about how the four of them were going to work together, but she had to trust that they were all well-trained hunters who knew the plan.

Her heels clicked against the cement floor as she walked in, the sound echoing around the open room. She would much rather be in boots or sneakers, something she could be stealthy in. But the thigh-high heels boots were deemed more "sexy" and fitting of the role they played. Unfortunately, she couldn't argue her way out of them. It wasn't long until four handsome men came into view that Rae realized how real this hunt had become. Their looks were what pulled in their meals in, Rae was sure. She wasn't about to let them fool her. The deep voice of one who seemed more brooding caught her attention, making the hairs on the back of her neck stand up and not in a good way. The four women moved closer to join the vampires' small group, and Rae made sure to clock all of the possible exits. She was slightly surprised they hadn't already been attacked or even compelled. It would seem that these vampires had far more control than the creatures she was used to hunting. That didn't make them any less of monsters though.

Arianna led the flirtatious charge, taking the whiskey bottle from alongside the one smoking a cigarette atop a wooden crate. He grinned at her, charm hiding his true nature. She was getting dangerously close, but Raven had to trust that Ari knew what she was doing. However, those thoughts were quickly thrown to the wayside when the other blonde took a swig from the bottle. That was a cardinal rule broken, and Rae couldn't help but be reminded of the time a similar mistake had nearly cost them their lives. If it were any other hunt, she would have said something immediately. But they still had a job to do and a cover not to blow. And, unfortunately, she had a new problem when one of the brunette vampires stepped in front of her. It took everything in her power not to immediately reach for a knife, instead forcing a seemingly easy, seductive smirk onto her pink-painted lips. "Hello, yourself," she said, refusing to shudder as he touched her. She intertwined their fingers, her heart beginning to beat faster as she used their connection to move closer to him. The fingertips of her free hand trailed up his chest until she caressed the side of his neck. "My name is Raven. But, my friends call me Rae."

These Boys Nights had been something that Kai had come up with a while back, originally as an attempt to get to know the three others. If he were being honest with himself, he was a bit lonely back then. One of the few disadvantages of immortality was that he outlived everyone. No one from his past was still alive, even those that weren't murdered during the French Revolution. They had died of old age or disease or just by accident. As the years went on, he tried to meet people and make connections again, once the vampiric urges had shrunken enough to control. But those people had gone too. Malakai had longed for friends that would last. And so, Trent, Toby, and Zach were the perfect solutions. Despite Trent's superiority complex and Zach's surly nature, they were still better companions than none at all. Now if only he could meet a female vampire or other supernatural creature that he could stand to be around. That would certainly add some spice to the mix.

Taking another inhale from the cigarette, the brunette couldn't help but roll his eyes at Trenton, a smirk playing on his lips. "Come on now, man. You know that the cocaine added a hint of something fun. Besides, her cracked-out reaction was fun! I don't think I've ever seen a human move so fast," Kai responded with a chuckle. It was a shame that she had to die. But, many kills before had practically numbed him to the situation. He could snap a neck without so much as a blink of an eye. There were no more feelings attached to it, though he was pretty avoidant of emotions altogether anyone. At least the ones he deemed negative, which was most of them. Already fixed with a cigarette, he nodded to Trent's box of cigars with the intent of smoking one later on. There would be plenty of time to smoke the finest cigarettes and drink the rest of the finest whiskey once the girls had arrived. Speaking of which...

Sensitive hearing caught the sounds of light voices outside the building. A collection of them, so soft and naive. If only they knew what was waiting inside for them. "It certainly sounds like it. Let's welcome our guests," he said with a grin, taking a final drag from his cigarette, stamping it out on the crate alongside him before flicking the butt across the room. Malakai could hear their heartbeats, smell their perfume with the sweet metallic tinge of their blood underneath. From the expensive fragrances, he could already tell that these women were money well spent and hopefully far better than the month before. A few voices called into the warehouse, but it was more fun, more of a cat-and-mouse game for them to venture in on their own, to fall into such a carefully laid trap. As they stepped into the light, Kai couldn't help but appraise them. Two blondes, two brunettes. All scantily, yet classily glad in what appeared to be expensive outfits. Oh yes, this was the best group by far.

"Welcome to our humble abode, the most exclusive of parties. And you lucky ladies are invited," the brunette vampire said, his charming grin only slightly tinged with something primal. His dark brown eyes slowly appraised each woman, raking up and down their bodies. They were gorgeous, and would certainly make more than just meals for the evening. One of the blondes made her way over to him, snatching the bottle of whiskey from alongside him. So she was the spitfire. There's always at least one. Malakai hopped down from the crate, landing less than a foot away from the pretty blonde. "Careful there, sweetheart. That whiskey is no doubt older than your parents. Smooth as hell, but incredibly dangerous." He refrained from adding a 'Just like me' at the end of that sentence. Toby began to play some music, but Kai kept his eyes on the blonde. His charm often gave way to a flirty nature beneath and, with eyes still focused on the girl in front of him, he couldn't help but say, "Music, huh? Are you going to dance for us, sweetheart?" Might as well play with his food while he could.

As much as she didn’t want to join the whole organization and the circus around it, Ellie had to admit that the thrill of hunting and putting various monsters down was amazing. With every next vampire, she imagined it was the one who had bitten Alex all those years ago and it kind of helped. Her hunger for revenge was burning, it was deeply rooted inside her and Ellie was sure that one day, she was going to find him and enact her revenge. And when that happened, she was going to do it slowly and savor every second of the torture bestowed upon the animal, tearing his limbs one by one, draining his blood drop by drop and then, when he would be only a translucent shadow of what he used to be, she would tear his head off and end his life forever.

For now though, there was a job for her and the other three girls to do and Ellie was nothing if not thorough in her work. The warehouse was right in front of them and Rowan took the lead, entering the place first, calling out in the sweetest of voices. A small laugh escaped Ellie’s lips as she walked in as well and for a moment, nothing but clicks of their heels echoed inside. Girls were definitely dressed for the occasion and they dolled themselves up perfectly, each in their own special way. Ellie’s fingers toyed with the zipper of her dress for a moment, pulling it a tiny little bit lower before four men fell into her view. Damnit! She had to focus hard and keep reminding herself they were nothing but bloodsucking monsters or else she might lose her head right there. How on earth were vampires this good-líooking? Since when???

There were several ways how to start this kind of party and Ellie was ready to engage when Arianna stepped forward. A teasing smirk was still sitting on her lips but inside, the brunette was screaming. What the hell was Arianna doing? Partying was one thing but drinking on the job, acting recklessly? What the hell was she thinking? Ellie was usually not the one to step in. Rae was the leader, at least in Ellie’s eyes. She was strong and level-headed and usually had all the answers. In addition to that, to say that Ellie and Ari were not the best of friends would be putting it very mildly but now, Rae was already occupied with one of the vamps. And Ellie felt she needed to act, not just stand there like a tool.

“Leave something for us as well, lovely.” she practically purred, approaching Ari and taking the bottle from her. “What the fuck are you doing? Don’t you have a brain in that blonde head of yours? Watch and learn.” she hissed as quietly as she could, barely moving her lips. She then brought the bottle to her own red-painted lips and tilted it. No liquor left the bottle, Ellie knew how to make it look good. She even pretended to take a few good gulps while only several tiny drops touched her tongue. She then returned bottle to Ari, hoping the blonde was not going to fuck it all up. Licking her lips expertly, she looked around, fixing one of the vamps with a sultry look. “I do appreciate a man with those kinds of pecs.” she winked, approaching Zach. Her hands rested against his chest and her dark chocolate gaze met his eyes. “You gonna dance with me or are you a lap dance kind of guy?” she asked in a flirtatious way while inside her, everything was screaming in disgust from trying to seduce a vampire.

“SOunds just like you, Tobias. Sucking out junkies.” Trent commented dryly and cut the end of his cigar off before bringing a small flame from his lighter to it. For a moment, the vampire doctor was quiet and enjoyed his very first drag from an expensive tobacco product, trying to search for the aftertaste of those thighs in it. Certainly, there was nothing like a true Cuban cigar. It was a true work of art in a box and while Toby rejected it, Trent was pleased to see that Zach recognized a gourmet product and took one. And he was sure that sooner or later, kai was going to taste it as well. Trent then turned to the latter and shook his head. “It was fun for you to watch that. I had to deal with her for quite some time. Next time that happens, I’ll gladly let you have your fun.” While his voice could be perceived as serious and maybe even slightly monotonous, those who knew him understood that every now and then, there was this little rare occasion and Trent dropped a joke. This was that occasion. Right now.

A few moments later, feminine voices filled the warehouse and Trent’s focus shifted. Toby jumped down and it was cutting it close, way too close for Trent’s liking. He had taken the vampire under his wing and while Toby was older, he still needed to learn a thing or two in order to control his urges and hunger. Trent was trained for such issues and he was willing to offer a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Toby was now his padawan and Trent let out a low growl, one only Toby and the others would hear. Girls had no chance. Not without having enhanced senses of a vamp.

Four girls appeared in front of four vampires and Trent remained seated, examining them one by one. They all look exquisite, definitely not cheap coke whores. The finest quality indeed. The cigar met his lips again as he was trying to determine which one was going to become his for the night and just then, a perky blonde stepped forward, vocal and demanding, courageous and bold. Her golden locks framed her heart-shaped face and the red dress copied her lithe body, singing perfection. And just as she took the bottle of whiskey in her own adventurous way, Trent knew which girl was going to be his nocturnal companion.

The dark brunette joined the blonde and took the bottle from her, humming something in her ear. Trent narrowed his eyes and a part of him didn’t like it. He should have heard, he always did hear whispers of mere mortals. How come he missed that? Or was he just hearing things that did not happen? Damnit! He needed to find out! But before he managed, the brunette already approached Zach, throwing her own flirty comments, Toby was busy with the other brunette and Trent was not going to waste any more time and risk losing the girl he had his eyes on. With a few longs strides, making sure to tame his super speed, he got to her. “Come, join me for a decent drink.” he smiled in the most charming way, taking her hand in his. He lifted the slender hand to his lips and tasted her skin with a kiss. Leading her back to his seat, he brought out another glass and another bottle, as if he was a magician. “My name’s Trent. Will you give me the pleasure of knowing yours?”

Rowan Fairday

Behind the carefree smile that was painted on her lips, Rowan was silently coaching herself to remain calm. The thrill and danger of the mission threatened to make her pulse race with adrenaline, and she didn't want her fast beating heart to blow their cover. Falling back on her training, the young woman kept her breathing calm and even, coaxing herself into a relaxed state that would better suit the evening's supposed activities. A deep voice welcomed the women, and Ro turned her icy blue eyes in the direction of a large, and undeniably handsome, man. Or rather, vampire. She waited for a moment for him to speak again, but when he didn't, her gaze trailed over to the other vampires who lingered amongst the crates. They all were very attractive, which at least would make acting like she was interested to keep up the charade easier. Though... it might actually make killing them harder. At least for her. Rowan didn't share the same disgust for vampires that her companions had, though she did well to hide it. The thought of saving one of the vampires from his fate tonight crossed her mind again, but with six other hunters in the area, her chances of being successful were dismal. Too bad.

Despite being the one to open the door and enter first, once the other women had joined her in the warehouse, Rowan fell to the back of the group as they walked over. She was the rookie, and she knew her place. She'd felt safe testing the waters of the situation, knowing that if the vampires were quick to strike, the other woman would deal with them swiftly. But since it seemed the men were going to play with their food a bit, Ro waited for the other women to approach the vampires first so she could follow their example. Accustomed to Rae taking the lead, the burgundy haired woman was thrown off a little when Arianna strode right over and took a pull of booze. Ro might have been the least experienced hunter of the group, but even she knew that drinking on the job wasn't a good idea. What was Ari doing?

For a moment, Rowan slowed her steps, almost coming to a stop as she watched Elektra walk over to Ari and whisper something in her ear. The brunette then took the bottle, and it looked like she too was taking a pull, but Ro knew she was just faking. The pair had spent enough time out partying and drinking together for her to be able to distinguish the difference. They'd pretended to drink their fair share of suspicious beverages bought for them by strangers, and it looked like the trick would come in handy tonight as well. Watching the exchange between the blonde and brunette, Ro found herself holding her breath and hoping the usual friction between them didn't come out to play here. Glancing to Rae for reassurance, she realized that her mentor was busy with one of the vampires already, and that things were too far underway to do anything but stick to the task at hand.

Letting the others pair off naturally so she didn't have to select the man she'd potentially be killing tonight, Rowan waited until only the vampire beside the contentious alcohol bottle remained alone. Judging by his words to Ari before she was whisked away by another man, he was the confident, flirty type, which under other circumstances would be fun. Right now though, Rowan just tried to push her guilt aside and remind herself that these guys had been planning to victimize other women tonight had they not signed up.

"Well, I guess that leaves you to me..." Rowan mused, taking the last few steps to the crates before coming to a stop beside Kai. She didn't immediately turn her full attention to him, instead reaching out and tipping the bottle of whiskey back a little where it rested on the wood box so she could examine the label. "Something tells me this isn't sold in your common liquor store..." She observed, noting the year on the bottle and it's authentic aged look. Her blue eyes lifted to Kai's, a bit of genuine curiosity playing in them, though she left her questions about its origin unasked. "You must have expensive taste..." Ro grinned playfully, taking the moment to study her target. His eyes were as dark as his hair and he was annoyingly handsome. More questions flitted through the back of her mind about whether he'd always been this easy on the eyes or if it had been a side effect of becoming a vampire. Though, that romanticized notion was probably a remnant of all the fiction she'd read growing up, because she'd seen plenty of ugly vampires.

Rowan's delicate fingers left the neck of the whiskey bottle, allowing it to tip back into an upright position, before curling around the edges of his open denim button up. She tugged gently on his shirt to draw him closer, tipping her head back a bit to look up at him. "Are you all celebrating something tonight?" She asked, feigning naivety as she absentmindedly swayed to the music. "Or just looking for some fun?" The red head glanced over her shoulder at the others for a moment to see what the others were up to and clock where everyone was in the room, before back to the vampire she was dangerously close to. She wouldn’t be the first to make a move, but she wanted to be prepared when shit hit the fan.

The customary guilt that Zach felt before a feeding was quick to subside, replaced by intrigue in the time it took for the women to walk over. Beyond his initial welcome, he remained silent, watching the dynamic of the women as he wondered which would be his meal for the night. Any of them would surely prove to be a delicacy, and as cliche as it might be, there was nothing quite as satisfying as feeding from the supple skin of a young, beautiful woman. It was funny how the promise of blood dissolved Zach's largely level-headed and moral approach to life. Much like an addict trying to attain sobriety, he would battle the usual disgust with himself tomorrow once he could think straight. Guilt, satisfaction, disgust, thirst. Repeat. It was a cycle as endless as his life, and in a way, Zach welcomed those difficult feelings which assured him he hadn't completely outgrown his conscience. He might not be human, but there was still a piece of humanity within him.

Blue eyes watched with quiet interest as one of the blondes helped herself to their aged whiskey before being joined by the brunette. He already was imagining the slight edge the liquor would add to the taste of the women's blood, distracted enough not to pay any attention to their quick exchange or the slight dip in confidence of the redhead. They'd had countless of these nights and had easily gone undetected. There was no reason to suspect that tonight would be any different. The introduction of music broke Zachariah from his thoughts and he glanced over as Toby began playing music from his phone. Or rather, what the people of this century considered music. Though, since he had a tendency of purposefully forgetting his own phone at home, he had to accept Toby as tonight's DJ.

The oft reckless vampire made his way over to one of the blondes, and Zach began a mental timer for how long his de facto brother would be able to resist taking a bite of his dinner. His count was happily interrupted when the brunette he'd eyed earlier entered his line of sight. I do appreciate a man with those kinds of pecs, she winked as she walked over. Zach drank in the young woman as her hands made themselves home on his chest, the warmth of her skin penetrating the material of his shirt. Her dark eyes contrasted his blue ones as she looked up, and he offered a relaxed grin to hide his desire to sink his teeth into her caramel neck. You gonna dance with me or are you a lap dance kind of guy?

For a moment Zach considered the question, before shrugging as took one of the brunette's hands from his chest. "Well, if you're offering the latter..." He began, using his hold on her hand to turn her around slowly so he could get a full look at her. "I wouldn't complain." He added, stopping Elektra once she was facing away from him and then pulling her back so she was flush against the pecs she was so appreciative of. Had Zach not been so consumed by the scent of her perfume and shampoo, he might have noticed the absence of whiskey on her breath, but as it was... His eyes trailed down the curve of her neck, his position behind Elektra allowing him more freedom to plan where he would take her blood from. He could hear the beating of her heart, knowing that with each muffled thump blood was pulse through her veins. Her throat was tempting, but... His hand slid from hers, moving up her arm a little until it loosely wrapped around her wrist. The soft skin beneath his fingers was as tempting well.

"But first..." He uttered against her ear as he lifted the brunette's hand up slowly until it was beside her face. He brought it to his mouth, wanting to sink his teeth in right there and then, but the prospect of a lap dance first was enough to stave off his thirst a bit longer. "I'd like to know who I have the pleasure of spending this evening with..." He pressed his lips to her skin, kissing her hand from behind, before reluctantly releasing it. "My name is Zach."

Arianna knew this was a job, but in her expert opinion, it was also a chance to have some fun. Sure, they were about to kill these vampires, but why let such a good outfit go to waste? Not to mention, the vampires were actually pretty decent looking. Okay, more than that-- they were absolutely delicious. But even their good looks didn't change what they were, not in this lifetime or any. But without the prying eyes of the other hunters around, save for the other three girls, Arianna wanted to be able to let loose a little bit. So she grabbed the bottle of whiskey, taking a swig from it before anyone could tell her not to. She wasn't expecting the liquor to pack such a punch though, and Kai's warning came too late. She'd already drank it, the amber liquid burning its way down her throat and warming her belly. But if she thought that was the end of it, she was sorely mistaken, as Elektra took the time to approach her as well.

It was no secret to anyone who knew them that the two girls didn't get along. Elektra snatched the bottle from her, which only sparked irritation inside Arianna. But her words were worse, they cut deep, because Elektra was right. But before Arianna could even hiss anything back, one of the vampires walked to them and led Arianna away. Still, Arianna shot Ellie a death glare before she turned her expression to Trenton, trying to clear the annoyance from her gaze at being scolded. A shiver crept down her spine when he kissed the back of her hand, her first instinct to pull away from him. But then, following directly after, was an urge to move closer. Was this the vampire charm? Her parted lips opened up the chance for her to speak, but for once, the blonde had nothing to say.

Back at his seat, he produced another bottle of something and a glass. She nodded to show he could pour it, though this time when the glass found her hands, she didn't lift to drink from it. The room was already shifting; she could feel the effects of the strong whiskey but she refused to admit that she'd made a mistake. Again. Instead, she just flattened her hand against Trent's chest, a sultry smile appearing on her lips. "Arianna." She responded, sliding her hand down, trying to ignore just how hard his torso was under her touch. She glanced at the glass in her hands before she heard Elektra's voice, asking one of the other vampires if he wanted to dance or if he was more of a lap dance kind of guy. "Heard she's good at those." Arianna tossed over her shoulder, flashing a smile in their direction.

"Come on. Dance with me." Arianna set the glass down on a nearby crate, her other hand leaving Trent's body so that both of her hands could find his. Lacing their fingers together, Arianna pulled him away from the seats, accidentally bumping into Ellie as she did so. She stumbled, overcorrected, and ended up pressed against Trent. But even that distraction didn't last long, and the spark ignited in Arianna again. "Watch your back, bitch." Arianna spat at her, turning her body towards Ellie. "This place is big, and you have to lap dance your way into my path?" Her voice dropped to a hiss, momentarily forgetting the mission they were on. For a moment, they were just back at base and Ellie had gotten in her way during a training session or something. And as always, Arianna was determined to have the last word.

It seemed that the other girls weren't thrilled with the blonde's way of breaking the ice, but to Toby, it was perfect. Of course, Kai was right-- that whiskey was definitely older than her parents, and likely her parents parents. But if she wanted to get wasted right away, that was the way to do it. Toby was ready to party anyway, and hopefully, the blonde wasn't alone in wanting to do the same. A brunette stepped forward, anger flashing in her eyes for a second before she turned towards the other girl and Toby couldn't see her eyes anymore. He watched the short exchange with interest, distracted from the fact that he couldn't hear her whispers when she took the bottle herself. There was something about a girl who chugged straight from the bottle that just lit Toby's whole body on fire.

But if he were being honest, he was more interested in a girl who had a little bit more control. So when his gaze settled on the other blonde, his grin grew sly as he approached, not shy about reaching out to touch her. Her smirk almost mirrored his as she returned his greeting, her fingers lacing with his as she moved closer. Had he been a cat he would have purred in that moment, but he settled for widening his grin. Her fingertips trailed up his chest before they reached his neck, and he tilted his head slightly to the side to give her better access to the soft skin there. Vampire or not, Toby liked to be touched and it was clear to him that this girl knew how to do so. His tongue darted out slowly to trace his lower lip, his eyes growing hazy as they half closed.

"Oh, am I one of your friends?" He asked, his hand moving to grip her waist, pulling her even closer. The distance between them now was practically nonexistent, and without even asking if she wanted to dance, he started to move them back and forth in one spot. His music played in the background, setting the perfect mood in his opinion, even though he had no idea what song was even playing. His other hand slid around to rest on her back, keeping her against him. It took everything in him to ensure his fangs remained hidden, though they were desperate, aching to come out and play. Soon. He made a silent promise to himself, though honestly was unsure how long he was going to be able to hold out. Rae was gorgeous and extremely well put-together, and he wanted to match the taste of her blood to that pretty face.

A slight commotion from a short distance away caused Toby's eyes to open, his head turning to see what was happening. The anger was evident on the blonde girl's face, and he could tense the tension between her and Ellie from where he stood. "They always fight?" He asked, turning his attention back to Rae, his fingers curling on her back. He wasn't opposed to a catfight, but if the mood was ruined for the rest of them, Toby would kill her himself. That wasn't something he wanted to happen. With a soft groan, he looked back at Arianna and Ellie, then at Trenton and Zach. "Come on, ladies. There's enough of us to go around. No need to get hostile, right?" His easy grin returned as he continued to move Rae along with him. But then a sudden thud against the side of the warehouse stopped him, and his eyes flicked towards the door leading outside. "What was that?"

Raven had been a hunter for a long time, far too long in the opinions of some. Though she was only 22, she had been in the game for about seven years now, and with the Organization for about six. It made her an elder in a way, allowed her to lead missions and teams, or even pitch her jobs and go solo. She was skilled enough to protect herself as well as the lives of others in the field, to give directions and make plans that others were required to follow. Despite her protests, though, Rae wasn't in charge of their current mission. She and the other four women were requested for their looks and skills, yes. But it was Charlie who had come up with the plan, decided that using female hunters as bait was a good idea. While she hadn't entirely agreed, especially knowing the personalities of the four women didn't exactly feed into one another well, she didn't argue.

These were the types of hunts she lived for, where she knew she was going to have the blood of a terrible creature on her hands at the end of the night. She craved it, wanting to do to those bastards what was done to her parents. Raven knew that the four vampires she was currently in the presence of were not the one she saw that night. She could never forget his face. But until she was able to track him down and hold his life in her hands, these four bloodthirsty monsters would have to do. Her icy blue eyes momentarily flickered from the one in front of her to the others, glancing between the women. Rowan grinned at one of the brunette vampires, seemingly biding her time until a move was made. Elektra, in turn, did what Rae wanted to do, and moved over to Ari. Though she couldn't hear the words exchanged between the two, she knew they were stern. It would cause some tension. But as long as they kept their heads straight and didn't let it get in the way of the job, she didn't care.

So, Raven turned her attention back to the vampire in front of her, the one that she was forcing her skin not to crawl just by touching. He tilted his head to the side as her fingers found the surprisingly smooth skin of his neck, and Rae had to resist the strong urge to pull out her blade and shove it into his heart. It wouldn't kill him, but the vervain-laced metal would most certainly hurt. He was making it so easy, not even worried that their so-called 'dates' could potentially be there to murder them. His lazy words reached her ears, and the blonde huntress barely had a moment to respond before he pulled her close. A soft gasp left her lips as her icy blue eyes glanced up at him, tilting her head curiously. They began to dance slowly to whatever music was in the air, and she leaned up on her toes to whisper in his ear, "If you want to be." It was a lie, but he wouldn't know any better until it was too late.

Raven was acutely aware of how close the bloodthirsty monster was to her, how easily he might be able to snap her in half if something were to tip him off. And the little argument between Ari and Ellie that filled her ears might just be that very thing. The huntress felt her body tense, hopefully not too terribly noticeably by Toby. "Not always, but I can't say it's uncommon," she replied evenly, shrugging her shoulders as nonchalantly as she could. Thankfully they continued to dance, the situation, for the most part, remaining calm and collected. Almost too soon, though, a thud of something against the metal side of the warehouse sounded, loud enough that it practically echoed around the open space. Toby paused, seemingly confused by the noise. After all, who would be visiting an abandoned warehouse this late? Clandestinely slipping a vervain-infused blade free, she pulled back just enough for Toby to see the smirk on her face. "That's our cue." With those simple words, she plunged her blade into his chest, and all hell broke loose.

Malakai knew that he was a striking man. In some ways, it was because he worked on himself, enjoyed working out and taking care of his body. But he also knew he could attribute part of that to being a vampire. Every vampire he had met over the years had been inexplicably, supernaturally attractive. Maybe it was a twisted form of evolution, an adaptation to allow them to catch dinner without expending too much of their limitless energy. Or maybe it was a mistake in whatever curse had created them. Whatever the case, Kai couldn't complain. When he was younger, not a vampire, he thought he had wanted to find a woman to settle down with, have a family, and take on a lordship of his own because that was what was expected of him. And perhaps at one point that was what he truly wanted. But after watching friends die of old age or disease while he stayed the same, he didn't want that to translate to someone he loved. And so he just turned it off. Stopped loving, or even caring. Humans had become disposable to him, playthings and nothing more.

Kai watched as the blonde drank the old liquor, a smirk playing on his lips. A brunette approached shortly, whispering something the blonde that he didn't quite catch. But he didn't much care either. They were vampires and these girls were just mere humans. What's the worst that could happen? His attention was taken by a pretty brunette with striking blue eyes that now stood in front of him. "Well, I'm certainly a lucky man," he answered with a smirk, reaching out to play with a stray piece of hair that framed her face. She took the bottle and examined it thoughtfully, and his dark eyes followed her every move like a lion stalking its prey. "I enjoy the finer things in life. Why do you think I specifically requested you ladies?" Kai answered, taking a step closer to her as her fingers curled around delicately and pulled on his shirt. He was more than happy to oblige. His hands found her hips, resting lightly there as they began to move to the music. His answer was rather vague, but that's how he preferred it. "Every day of life is something to celebrate, don't you think?"

Unable to help himself much longer, Malakai leaned until his lips were dangerously close to her neck. To the untrained human eye, it would look as though he was going in for a sensual kiss on the neck. But really, he was inhaling her scent, listening for the blood pumping through her veins. He might have acted on it too if a loud thud on the side of the warehouse hadn't given him pause. "What the hell..." Kai murmured, pulling back. He moved a few steps away from Rowan in the direction of the sound, but almost as if on cue, the wall of the warehouse seemed to burst inward, shattering the windows and raining the glass down to the floor below. A bright light filled the space, temporarily blinding him enough that Kai took several quick steps back and nearly vampire speeds. He could hear them, smell them before he could see them. But once he knew they were there, he narrowed his eyes. "Witches."

Elektra

Being a hunter could teach a girl a thing or two. As much as Ellie wanted to avoid this whole lifestyle and live her life in peace and sweet ignorance, it found her. It surely seemed that it was written in the stars for her. Her and every other legacy. No one could escape the long and sacred tradition of becoming a hunter or a huntress. Maybe, had Alex survived… Well, but it didn’t happen, did it? Alex was gone, perished by the hand of his own sister. And now it was up to Elektra to carry that cursed legacy on her shoulders, to become someone who her parents could be proud of. Granted, filling her brother’s shoes was a difficult task in itself, one she never wanted to attempt to make happen but here she was, making her way to the top of the class. That’s what her parents wanted. That’s what Alex would have wanted…

Purring seductive words to a vampire was right up there with throwing up after the drunken night on Ellie’s list of hobbies but it was a job. Just another job she needed to do on her path to getting the world rid of the bloodsuckers. Maybe this tall, devilishly handsome, and smooth vampire wasn’t the one who bit Alex but he definitely was one of the million reminders of what actually happened. And yet, Ellie’s lips curled into a smile and she forgot all about Arianna and her escapades with a bottle. Hoping the blonde menace knew what to do next, Elektra moved on to her part of this job and before she knew it, her back was pressed against that hard muscle on Zach’s chest. It was really too bad he was who he was. A damn shame if you asked her because he was the exact kind of guy Ellie would adore bringing home to her bed.

Elektra’s skillset was a wide array of deceptive moves, words that breathed lies, and sultry looks which could fool anyone. She was a pretty little actress and the fact that her heart was racing like a prized stallion could be easily explained by stating how excited she was to be around a man like him. She leaned into him even more and let out a short shaky breath when his lips whispered words in her ear. Her fingers wrapped around his hand and she bit her lipstick-covered lower lip as her eyelids fluttered. “Ellie.” she revealed her name. “I’m Elektra.” she added after a while and turned around in his arms swiftly as a cat. The moment was becoming more and more heated and Ellie was sure she could soon get this man, or rather this vampire, where she needed him. But once again, Arianna was here to fuck things up.

There were so many things Elektra wanted to tell the blonde, not many of them pretty. “That’s enough…” Ellie hissed back and shot an apologetic look at Zach. Her dark eyes started to sparkle with anger and her hand shot up, grabbing a handful of golden locks. “Listen up, you spoiled privileged little asshole…” she started and pulled Ari’s head down, trying to get her stuck in a headlock. Of course, Ari got her training as well, it was not easy for Ellie and soon, they started their usual bitch dance, trying to prove who was better. Cuss words and insults were flying all over the place alongside punches and scratches and after a while, Ellie hated herself for letting Arianna provoke her again. One of the men threw a teasing comment their way but it was only the loud bang that stopped them.

Ellie shoved Arianna away and perked up, listening to her surroundings. "That's our cue." Rae commented and Ellie knew immediately. Her fingers found the knife subtly hidden in her boot and her lips curled into a small smirk again as she pressed the tip against Zach’s chest, right where his heart was. “Don’t…” she warned him if he considered moving. She really thought it was one of the guys starting action outside but when the other vampire uttered the word “witches”, Ellie knew something was off and their plan did not go as planned. A faint smell of sulfur was raised in the air and Ellie made her mistake of becoming too distracted by her surroundings. She turned her head aside in surprise, letting Zach out of her sight but whatever happened next, she had no idea. At first, it was only a small line of smoke coming in but it grew thicker and thicker, strengthening the sulfur smell inside the warehouse. Ellie blinked a few times and tightened her grip on the knife. She frantically tried to find her friends and come closer to them but she never had the chance. Her eyelids grew heavy and soon, darkness enveloped her, sending the unconscious huntress to the ground.

Trenton

Unlike his friends and basically brothers from another mother, Trenton was turned during modern times, born and raised as a human being. The tradition in his family was long and while it was oftentimes seen as rather weird, it was deeply rooted in every member of the Callahan clan. For quite some time, Trent did not see his own son at this point and maybe he should have visited but also, his own father never really bothered either, and look at how he turned out. A successful surgeon with life many could be jealous of. What more could he want anyway?

Trent went through his life easily, picking the finest thing everywhere he went. That was how he approached the selection of his lady of the night as well. While all the other girls were clad in pitch black, the fiery blonde’s body was hugged in a blood-red shade of red and those golden locks reflected light in the best and the most seductive way. He soon led her aside and offered her another glass of freshly opened whiskey. The waft of the oak amber liquid hit his nose and after Arianna had her own glass in hand, Trent brought his own to his lips and took a sip. She commented on Elektra’s words and Trent’s own lips just curled in an amused smile. “Then I guess my friend Zach over there is in for a treat.” he chuckled and downed his glass just as she asked him to dance.

There were many things Trent was good at. Dance was not one of them. But her hand, roaming his body, found his and their fingers laced together and Trent decided to try. A little fun before dinner was always very much welcome. But before they even managed to get fully into it, Ari stumbled and Trent grabbed her, pulling her closer to him. And then the shit went down because Arianna and Elektra launched their catfight. Trent watched in awe how the two girls yelled and screamed, grabbing each other’s dress and hair and he shook his head. “What the fuck is this supposed to be?” he asked, looking at the fight with a slight shade of disgust shimmering in his eyes.

The hunch came before everything else then. Trenton lifted his gaze up from the fight and then the thump echoed in the warehouse alongside the girls’ screams. Several questions arose and Trent felt his muscles tighten, his jaw became even more prominent and his hands balled into fists. It was Kai who said it first. Fucking witches. What were they trying to do now? The fact that they decided to come now and spoil the boys' night out made Trenton scowl. “What now?” he growled and hissed right after as the sour smell hit his nose. “Where are they?” he then asked and moved closer to the door, trying to see any movement outside. “Come on, let’s…” he started but never got any further. The smoke became much thicker and once it covered his face, Trento inhaled deeply and the spell sent him to the ground.

Rowan Fairday

Three years ago, vampires had been nothing but fiction, and now... now Rowan found herself willingly dancing with one. Tonight's mission was two-fold: get information about the vampires and then take them out. Finding the former objective easier to stomach, Rowan made small talk, asking innocuous questions, like what tonight's occasion was, to ease her dance partner into her interrogation of sorts.

Everyday of life is something to celebrate, don't you think? Kai's words hit a little too close to home for Rowan's liking and her grip on his shirt tightened reflexively. There was no way for the vampire to know that she was, for all intents and purposes, on death's row and desperately trying to make the most of each day she was alive, but his ignorance didn't stop her from filling with envy. He had endless days to celebrate. Ro bit her lip to maintain composure as she swallowed her feelings, before coaxing her mouth into an amused smile. "My sentiments exactly..." She began to reply, the need for anymore words disappearing as Kai leaned in towards her, and -

Rowan gasped. Not because a vampire's lips were inches from her throat and she knew at this proximity he would be able to pierce her flesh before she could stop him... but because she saw Elektra and Ari scuffling out of the corner of her eye. While the novice huntress had been trained in fighting vampires, she was not trained in what to do if her fellow teammates turned on each other instead. Her blue eyes flicked over to Rae for guidance, but -

Thud! It was difficult to discern the order of the events that followed the loud crash against the exterior of the warehouse, but chaos erupted even before the echoes had time to fade. Rae was quick to plunge her blade into her mark's chest, and Elektra paused her assault on Ari in order to hold her vampire at knife point. Rowan was vaguely aware that Kai's hands had left her body, but only when her eyes returned to him as he backed away did it sink in that her target was getting away. Before she could even take two steps towards him, the warehouse windows exploded inwards, sending glass raining down on the occupants below. Rowan closed her eyes against the shards and blinding light that followed suit, but continued after Kai. There wasn't any time to waste, or even to think, and her body just moved. Or at least it did until she heard-

Witches. Once again Kai's utterance hit close to home and Rowan froze. Just as her fellow huntresses despised vampires, she despised witches for ruining her life and ending her mother and grandmother's. The brunette's boiling blood turned to ice though when the smell of sulfur assaulted her senses and smoke filled the warehouse. Where there was smoke, there usually was fire. Flashes her the nightmares depicting her death amongst flames made Rowan's stomach drop and pulse race. Dread filled her just as the smoke filled the warehouse and she reflexively clutched at the phoenix pendant she always wore. Was this it? Was this how she died? Here? It was too soon. She wasn't ready. She just needed more time... She needed-

Him. Rowan somehow located the vampire she'd been dancing with just moments ago amongst the fray, albeit even further from her now. Instead of running towards her friends, or for an exit, she inexplicably ran for the vampire she was meant to kill. But her mission was the last thing on her mind now. For a moment she lost him again in the smoke, and she cursed herself for not knowing his name to call it as she ran blindly. She couldn't lose him now. She was so close. With all the distraction, this was her chance! If she could just get him out of the warehouse, maybe she could... Suddenly there he was. Only a couple yards away. "Wait!" She reached out to prevent him from running again, but with each panicked breath she inhaled more of the smoke and her vision darkened around the edges, until -

Death claimed her. Or so Rowan thought as she crumpled to the ground, bitterly believing that the vampire who might have been the answer to her prayers would be the last thing she'd ever see in this world.

Zachariah Crowley

Being the recluse that he was, Zach didn't often seek out the company of women. Not that it stopped any of his female clients from throwing themselves at him, even those that were married. While a few of them made for tasty snacks every now and then, the brooding vampire didn't use them for pleasure. It wasn't good for business and there was something about the lack of propriety the women showed that turned him off. Though, propriety was pretty much out the window when it came to the women Kai rounded up for their monthly gatherings as well... but in a much different way. They were flirty and overly friendly because that was their job. Not because they were desperate or seduced by his vampirish charm. Something he believed life would be easier without unless he was actively compelling someone.

Whether he'd admit it or not, he enjoyed the feminine company that fed both his appetites during their boys' nights, and was particularly enjoying tonight's main course. The dark eyed, dark haired woman whom he now had pressed against him carried herself differently than the previous ladies, and had an intrigue about her that Zach couldn't quite place. It was almost like she had a secret, perhaps even a dangerous one... And while Zach preferred a quiet life now, far from danger (outside of himself and his de facto brothers), he was pulled in by the whisper of it now. Just as she seemed to be by his own whispers into her ear. Elektra, as she introduced herself, leaned back against him more as her hand tightened around his as he brought it to his lips. Managing restraint, Zach had the intention of letting the physical aspect of the night continue a little longer... until a blonde woman took Ellie's attention.

The brunette moved away from him, and an altercation between the two women began, even turning physical. Annoyance replaced his desire as Zach watched the immature, though skilled, fight and he was about to distance himself to search instead for that cigar he'd left for later, when things went from annoying to downright irritating. Uninvited guests in the form of witches, as Kai would later identify, crashed the party, causing destruction throughout the warehouse. The sound of the initial thud though seemed to set off another chain of events altogether, and Zach was taken aback to see the other blonde woman plunge a blade into Tobias's chest. While he knew that it wouldn't be a deadly blow, it was still disconcerting to see a man you considered your brother be attacked. Unfortunately, Zach was unable to come to Tobi's aid as the tip of a knife pressed against his own chest brought his attention back to Elektra.

Don't... She warned coldly, and suddenly Zach was transported back in time to the battlefield of Europe where he'd found himself being told the same thing by German soldiers as they pointed their guns at him. The explosion of the warehouse windows only pulled the vampire deeper into his war-torn memories, and for a moment, the warehouse disappeared from around him entirely. His eyes darkened dangerously, fists clenching by his side as he was overcome by the nightmare. Back then, his thirst for blood and revenge had overpowered his conscience, and he'd laughed in the faces of the Germans before destroying them quicker than they could pull the trigger. Part of him must have held onto some sliver of reality though and kept him from doing the same to Elektra. The smell of sulfur that accosted his senses took the form of mustard gas in his hallucination and the "soldier" who held the knife to him was suddenly distracted, his knife lowering from Zach's chest enough to break the trance.

Zach suddenly found himself pulled back from one war zone to another. Smoke filled the warehouse, but his keen eyesight allowed him to see that bodies were beginning to litter the floor, that of Trent's included. He caught the scent of the witches, but in doing so inhaled too much of the smoke and was brought to his knees as well. He growled a little, determined to resist whatever spell the horrid beings were trying to cast... but he was no match and ultimately succumbed just as the others did.

Arianna's incessant need to have the last word was going to be the death of her-- or someone close to her. Even if she and Elektra were far from friends, Ari still didn't wish death on her fellow huntress. Not on Ellie or the other two girls here with them, each of them throwing themselves in harms way for a common end. Or at least, that's what Arianna thought. Truthfully, the vampire in front of her was distracting her in the worst way possible, but that was nothing compared to the physical tussle that followed Ari's snarky words towards Elektra. The brunette was quick to push off of her own vampire, grabbing Arianna's beautiful blonde locks and trying to pull her into a headlock. Barbie she may be, but this Barbie was trained to fight, and that's exactly what she did.

Completely unaware of the disgust and annoyance by the others, Arianna would have kept fighting until she won if it hadn't been for the thud on the side of the building. Her fight with Ellie stopped immediately, and Ari shoved the brunette away, straightening and fixing her hair while her brain tried to catch up with what was happening. Whatever was going on, it wasn't a part of the plan, that much she knew. Everything that happened next happened way too fast for Arianna to comprehend. She whirled around when she heard an inhuman snarl, spotting Rae's blade in her vampire's chest. Ari's own knife was clearly visible now, and she hadn't even noticed. Grabbing at it now, she flipped the blade around in her hand, turning now towards Trent.

But the scent of sulfur in the air caught her attention, just before the wall of the warehouse folded it on itself. Glass exploded, raining down shards on all of them. Arianna lifted her hands to cover herself, and when she opened her eyes again, the smoke was too thick to see through. "Guys!" She called out, her yelling drowned out by the smoke infiltrating her lungs and making her cough. She managed to make it a few steps before she collapsed to her knees, her hands splayed out on the ground in front of her. She had dropped her knife and couldn't even see it, though she'd heard it clatter to the ground. Panicked, she tried searching for it but to no avail. Her vision grew hazy, and she sank to the ground, her eyes fluttering closed as the darkness took over.

She had no idea how long she lay out before her eyes opened again. Slowly at first, though they shot open when she saw where she was. With the smoke cleared, it was easy to see the warehouse had become a mess. Broken glass fragments and pieces of the wall were everywhere, and there were seven other bodies laying on the ground around her. Pushing herself up, she tried to ignore the fatigue shooting through her. Rae happened to be the closest hunter to her, so the blonde crawled to her, reaching out with one unsteady hand to shake the girl awake. "Rae! Rae!" She whispered, whimpering slightly as she blinked away tears. Settling back for a moment, she watched Rae, breathing a sigh of relief when she saw the girl was still breathing. "Come on, wake up!" Arianna grabbed both of her shoulders now, trying to bring her to a sitting position. But with her own awkward way of sitting and the exhaustion coursing through her, she dropped her right back on the ground. Growing frustrated, Ari didn't think twice before she reached out and slapped the girl across the face. "Rae!"

Things quickly went from bad to worse, and it was safe to say Toby and his brothers were quite unprepared. Toby was thoroughly enjoying the girl he'd chosen, because she was just the right mix of sassy and sultry and sexy. In his mind, she was the perfect one for him out of this group, and he was going to have fun with her and ensure that she had fun, too. Before he made her forget the night, that is. It made him sad to think that she wouldn't remember him after tonight, but that was just how it had to be. Couldn't have her going to tell all her friends she had a date with a vampire, after all. None of the girls would be allowed out of this warehouse until they were compelled to forget the evening, sad as it may sound. Not that Toby would cry over it or anything.

The blonde and one of the brunettes started fighting, though, distracting Toby from his girl. He hadn't been opposed to a catfight, but this was outright war. It looked to Toby that Trent and Zach didn't know what to do, and Toby was about two seconds away from telling them when it happened. First there was the thud on the side of the warehouse, then a burning pain blossomed in his chest. And it burned. Toby's head whipped down, his eyes staring at the blade that currently stuck out of his chest. His lips parted, his eyes wide as he lifted his head to look at Rae. "What..." But he already knew. Hunters. And then, while he was still processing that, he heard Kai's muttered word. Toby's head whipped up once more, his hands reaching for the hilt of the blade as he took a step back from Rae.

He hadn't even managed to pull it from his chest before the wall exploded, raining glass and plaster down on all of them. Smoke began to fill the warehouse, and like the others, Toby succumbed. He fell to the ground, just managed to pull the vervain stained blade out of his chest and throw it to the side before he was out. Time passed, but none of them knew how much. When Toby's eyes fluttered open, he heard movement, but his brain felt sluggish and he couldn't quite figure out what was going on. It wasn't a feeling he was used to as a vampire, but if he had to compare it to something, he thought maybe it was akin to waking up still drunk. But that didn't make any sense to him, because he was a vampire and alcohol didn't have that effect on him, and-

"OW!" Pain suddenly shot through the back of his head, causing his eyes to squeeze shut as though that would help. Two seconds later, his face stung as though someone had slapped it, and he shot up to a sitting position. "What the FUCK!" He yelled, his eyes blazing red with anger as he looked around for the culprit. Kai had said something about witches, and if those Hocus Pocus bitches were still around, Toby was going to have some words for them. But he didn't see anyone except the huntresses, the blonde one hovering over the one he'd claimed as his. Rae. He watched as she slapped the girl, and yet again, pain seared his own face. "Fuckin' stop it!" He snapped, using his speed to push himself to his feet and then over to her. Only he overdid it, that drunk feeling still in his mind as he shot past Arianna, into the stack of crates from before. They exploded as he crashed into them, a groaning sound coming from that direction.
