NAME: shin daehyun
AGE: twenty-six, june 10th, gemini
GENDER AND SEXUALITY: cisgender pansexual male
OCCUPATION: 2d and 3d animator
FACE CLAIM: kim youngkyun / hwiyoung
ROLE: thing one

APPEARANCE:
HEIGHT: 5'10 / 178cm
WEIGHT: 135lbs / 61kg
EYE COLOR: Dark Brown
HAIR COLOR AND STYLE: His hair color was naturally dark brown but he's been coloring it black for a while. He began growing out his hair after moving to Seoul. It helped him start fresh and made him feel good to have something people could focus on other than his delicate facial features and the baby fat he was trying to lose. After losing the weight he kept the long hair and started coloring it to give it some personality but he settled on black to go with the clothes he was wearing.
FEATURES AND BUILD: Daehyun has broad shoulders and a very thin waist, He isn't muscular in the slightest but his body's lines are quite sharp, for example his jawline and larynx. He has delicate facial features still after all these years but his eyes have slight bags and dark circles underneath them, making them look pretty lifeless. His legs are long and his feet are huge. His skin remains the same beige tone he's always had despite all his time indoors. He also has slight stretch marks on his hips, thighs and arms from where he list his childhood chubbiness.
WARDROBE AND ACCESSORIES: Daehyun gained a fashion sense a while ago. He started wearing more formal men's wear outside, including suits, ties and coats. He lounges around the house normally in loose fitting casual clothes like oversized sweaters, graphic t-shirts, sweat pants and cargo pants. He doesn't like wearing denim. For accessories, he wears earrings and the odd necklace every now and again. He despises rings as they interfere with his animating.

PERSONALITY:
POSITIVE TRAITS:
Daehyun is still the loyal, friendly person he used to be. On top of that he is highly empathetic and altruistic when it comes to the people he does care about and sees often. He even stopped drinking entirely for his mother. He is hardworking, organised and loves his job as he gets to use his creativity and imagination every day. He wants to make money doing what he loves as he thinks having a comfortable life will make him happy. He is kind, doesn't like starting fights and has a straightforward, honest expression. His wit hasn't changed since school and still has an eye for humour. He is less chaotic now than he used to be instead more dignified. In a professional or formal setting, he carries himself more confidently and has an air of dynamic romance around him. He is open minded and likes learning about new things which is something his teen self wasn't. His mother is proud of how much he has grown and he will continue to make her proud.
NEGATIVE TRAITS:
Daehyun has changed a lot from high school. The reckless, adrenaline junkie, daredevil is gone. His funny sarcasm that people loved has devolved into bitterness, depression and resentment. During his early twenties, he was drawn to hard liquor just to feel something and bordered on alcoholism. He is restless and barely sleeps. He has low passion for anything outside of his regular routine of work, home and seeing friends. He doesn't believe in himself much and his smarter friends secretly think he may have impostor syndrome due to being a perfectionist workaholic. He is insecure and more emotional than he likes to admit. He flips between worrying what everyone thinks of him to not caring how others perceive him. This leads to unstable behaviour that is often masked by his introverted, quiet self. Either way he never wants his family to think less of him which is why he has been avoiding his sister and father like the plague.
LIKES AND DISLIKES:
Since a young age, Daehyun has liked spicy food. He could eat raw chillies and it wouldn't phase him. He also likes art, obviously, in all it's forms. Of course, some art is better than others, but he loves creating things which is why he made it his job. He started drinking black coffee when he moved to Seoul and after almost becoming an alcoholic he replaced one addiction with another. He likes the night time. He despises early mornings and he is afraid of spiders. He also hates irritable and loud noises. Rock and Hip-Hop are his favourites music genres whilst Western Pop is his least favourite. He doesn't like exercise unless it's cycling and he doesn't like being the one to take charge of difficult situations. He likes driving and one day wishes to own a cool expensive car.
HOBBIES AND INTERESTS:
Daehyun has been lacking in the hobby and interest department. He hasn't been feeling like doing anything new for a long time. He watches movies and tv shows, specifically anime and cartoons. He hasn't made a proper scripted short film in a while but he does film all the time, uploading the best stuff to his Youtube channel to look back on later. Animation is his job but it started out with him drawing as a hobby and still does cool artwork to this day. He listens to music whilst drawing. He barely drives in Seoul despite owning a car, preferring to cycle or take public transport to avoid traffic.

BIOGRAPHY:
Daehyun was one of two children his parents had. He was a twin sharing a womb with his sister, Thing Two. From birth they were inseparable. They blessed him and his sister with their good looks and for him, his sharp humor and sardonic personality. He wouldn't consider himself the favorite twin. His spontaneity and reckless behaviour often made his parents upset despite his good grades, caring brotherly attitude and natural creativity. As a young child he enjoyed running around with his sister, reading books and crayon coloring. He was a joyous child and a delight to have around. His Aunt saw big things in his future especially to do with art and creativity.

As he grew closer to adolecense, a devilish grin appeared on Daehyun's angelic face. Him and his sister would climb trees, steal candy from stores and got up to no good. He loved his sister a lot and loved getting up to mischief with her. They were best friends and he was so happy to have her in his life. When he wasn't running around and causing trouble with his sister, he would spend his alone time making short films on an old camcorder. They were bad and remained hidden on the SIM card forno one to see. They often contained bad self written plots but the fact that he was making things was a good thing. He also drew a lot in class and got pretty good at it over time. His teachers noted to his family that their son was very creative. His mother showered him with praise whilst his father remained indifferent, thinking it wouldn't lead to a proper job and that he should focus on school more. He was unsure with how his sister felt about him getting this attention from such a young age.

In high school, minus his art work he was the same loud and out there person he always was. Him and his sister would cause trouble. He often had to stop her from going too far sometimes. Either way it was fun messing with people the way they did. Lots of classic pranks, skipping class to do other things and messing with teachers and blaming other people. His creativity was in full force as a member of the art club and people thought he could be something more than the loud boisterous kid he was. He stayed close to his sister spending almost all hours of the day together. He continued to have a complicated relationship with his father whilst his mother doted on him. His friendships at school were pretty solid however. He was friends with the guys and Hana throughout high school and they were awesome. They went to PC rooms and went out on the weekends together. He remembers people thinking he was funny and them liking him but he remained closest to his sister, the friends he did have were all awesome in their own right.

Whether she knew it or not, underneath all the teasing and joking that they did, he genuinely loved his twin sister. He wanted to protect her from the monster that was Myungsoo no matter what. The rumors that he had hurt other girls in their grade, the idea that he had laid his hands on them, the fact that his sister or his good friends Hana or the Hoiden could be next, made him incredibly angry which is why he got in on it in the first place. When Myungsoo died, at first he was in denial and rather hysterical. But the others knew that it was the only logical option. Eventually he calmed down and tried to keep his sister close to him. He was first to agree that they never spoke of it again. When the snow thawed out and Myungsoo's body was found, there was no denying what happened. He did as the six of them promised and kept his mouth shut.

He took a year off after high school as they all went their separate ways including him parting with his sister. It didn't feel the same being around them all. Whenever he looked at his sister, the Hoiden or Hana all he thought is how he wanted to protect them and ended up contributing on someone's death. His personality changed. He was less reckless, even less energetic and didn't take many uncalculated risks. He had a few close friends rather than a large group of people he liked being around. He kept most relationships formal, rarely dating and having one night stands every now and again with both men and women. His sexuality was a no brainer to him. He liked both men and women and to him he didn't care too much about it. He also drank more than he used to. He still had the same smartass attitude but he seemed like more of a dick now than he used to be.

After taking that year off where he drove up and down the country (sometimes a little bit drunk) trying to find himself, he left Gangwon-do and moved to Seoul. He grew out his hair for the first time ever and never mentioned to others about what he participated in on that cold winter night. He got into the Korean National University of Arts. His portfolio of artwork, film and fiction writing impressed them and he did his Bachelor's degree in Animation. He wanted to create things and thought he could even make a career of it. His mother supported him a lot whilst his father thought it was a waste of time. He didn't want to burden them with financial responsibility so he worked where he could for spare cash. His animation skills got very good very quickly. In the mean time, his mother was questioning why he wasn't talking with his sister and why he hasn't been calling his dad.

He ended up working on a short film with a couple friends that won a small award at a festival. He didn't get much credit for the work as he was only the animator on the project but he was happy his friends got some recognition for it. His mother was very sad about him becoming an adult and drinking so much. He says people change and people grow with age. His mother started to seriously worry about him and discovered how bad the drinking was. She dragged him to a doctor and they started treatment for his alcoholism and depression. They weened him off the alcohol slowly and suggested therapy which he rejected. He couldn't talk about what happened. He did open up to his mother how empty he felt and how he wanted something to fill the void that he had in his heart. He ended up stopping drinking entirely after a four years as an alcoholic. He finished up his bachelor's degree and recently found a job at a studio. The pay wasn't that great but it was enough to live. It also gave him time to work on his own stuff as well. He worked on a couple American and British cartoon series and was making enough money to live comfortably in his crappy shared apartment. His mother came to visit him twice a month to check on him and he got more into drinking coffee which as a stimulant made him feel less empty sometimes.

He was reaching a period of artist's block and considered enlisting to get his military service out of the way when he got the phone call that Hana had passed away. It was a massive shock to the system. Despite not seeing or hearing from her in years, he really cared about her when they were teens. She was one of the reasons he agreed to teach Myungsoo a lesson to begin with. She was the sweetest nicest person ever. She didn't deserve to die so early. He immediately used up any saved holiday and sick days to go and be at her funeral. It was only right after what they had all been though together. Hopefully they still recognised him with his new style. He questioned if his sister would also be attending and packed a bag for home. His parents were overdue a visit as well since he doesn't go home very often. Avoiding his sister like the plague wasn't what he wanted to do but unfortunately after everything that happened, it's not like he had much of a choice.

RELATIONSHIPS:
MIN HANA - To Daehyun, Hana was a sweet girl. She was loving and innocent, fun to tease but a good friend and someone who he respected. He thought she was very talented and that she would have been the best teacher a seven year old could ask for. However, after Myungsoo, the girls reminded him of why he participated in the first place, to protect them. Hana, especially, was too good of a person and the idea of her and his sister in pain broke him. He stopped talking to her when they all went their separate ways but the odd time he went back to Gangwon-do he would pass by her house, wondering if he should pay her a visit. He will be paying her a visit now just not in the way he'd hoped.

sam-phi areum
the hoiden
full name
sam-phi areum.
nicknames
n/a.
age
twenty-six.
birthday
seventeenth of april, aries.
gender
cisgendered female.
sexuality
bisexual, biromantic.
occupation
broadcast & sound engineer.
appearance
height
five feet, nine inches; or one hundred seventy-five centimeters.

weight
one hundred thirty-two pounds; or sixty kilograms.

hair
areum's hair has been short since the beginning of secondary school. long ago she ditched the twin ratted braids— frizzed up and tangled from her unruly outdoor play-time with bangs perpetually skewed the wrong way— and quickly exchanged them for a boyish pixie cut that required a lot less maintenance. and, for the most part, she's never looked back. with a brief detour into lavendery-silver hair for a couple of years in college, her silky hair is back to being its natural ink-black color. having gotten a little bit lazy with actual trips to the hair-dresser, her pixie has lately grown into a mullet-y wolf cut, maintained and shorn by her own kitchen scissors.

eyes
dark brown.

build
while she may have a smaller frame, she's not necessarily thin. she just happens to appear so with her height. lean might be the more appropriate term. in her adult life she's made a point to maintain physical shape and works out at least twice a week, if not three or more times. she has considerable strength in her upper body and core, especially in her forearms and fingers. which, that may sound like an odd detail, but after working on cars and such, you start to notice the most results where there are muscles typically used to tighten things. you can see the faint outline of her muscles most places, though it's easy to underestimate or miss entirely. she appears quite graceful.

modifications
in her adulthood areum has collected a significant amount of ear piercings and a few tattoos: left ear [x], right ear [x], ear tattoo [x], rib tattoo [x], thigh tatoo [x].

face claim
lee joo young.

❝ i will love you long after i'm dead ❞
persona
personality
between her height, hair, and build, she blent into the group a little easily appearance-wise, often mistaken for one of the boys when addressed all together by a teacher or upperclassman. however, personality-wise, areum had always stood out from her friends— like bright yellow construction paper on a black poster board. not that she'd ever tell them, but sometimes her dear friends could be downers and outright mean. so, she stuck out a bit more in that sense.

areum is the type of girl who constantly drove teachers crazy growing up. she's talkative. it didn't matter how many times you moved her or who you sat her by, she found a way to talk to anyone or anything. even when her desk was removed entirely from the rest of the student body and put into a quiet little corner just for her she managed to fill the silence by dictating her own thoughts or conversing with the classroom pets. she's forgetful. she could never remember her homework or what was ever going on. she spoke out of turn all the time, no matter how many times she was reminded that she needed to raise her hand before answering a question. she's disorganized, she lost everything and turned every assignment in at the last possible minute(i.e. as late as she could push it). she didn't try too hard with her grades. and, she's been the same her entire life. from primary school to adulthood she's been a talkative, forgetful, disorganized mess.

yet, those around her are still taken by her. why? because she is a ray of sunshine. she isn't sunshine in the same sense that the stammering disney princess who gets everyone to fall in love with them is generally considered sunshine. she's sunshine in the sense of her intensity. yes, she's an optimist. it does just so happen to be a part of that sunshine. a sunny disposition never hurt anyone. she likes to look on the bright side of things, even if it defies logic. so what if it's not true? it feels better. she's idealistic and difficult to sway from being so. she seems to always be in a good mood. she has a huge smile on her face and it seems almost impossible to upset her in a significant way. she just seems to have so much hope for the world, always. she's warm, outgoing, friendly. and nice. not nice in the people-pleasing way, but genuinely nice. she's determined, occasionally stubborn. there's something that many find endearing about that.

and then plenty more are just as easily put off by her sheer volume. she's always been loud(cannot whisper to save her life!) and animated. borderline annoying to a lot of people. she frequently needs to be reminded that everyone she's trying to talk to is all in the same room and there's no need to shout. areum is full of energy, lots of times too much energy. in her younger days she got it out plenty by running around outside and playing with her cousin, [the star athlete]. as she got older, that evolved into mindless bouncing, shaking, fidgeting, tapping, picking, humming. just any sort of idle movement for the sake of moving. she's always been a physical person and considered to be a tomboy, which is true. she loves things that were considered more "boyish". cars, playing in the dirt, reptiles. but that by no means has created a disconnect between her and her femininity. she loves girly things as well(and loves seeing other girls being feminine) and often times enjoys it when others will help her get all dolled up for a time out.

areum has frequently been called an airhead. her forgetfulness has often plagued her, making even the most obvious conclusions elusive to her. she doesn't ever read the room— or, if she does, she ignores it. school wasn't ever something that came easy to her, unless it was math, so she has often been pegged as the "dumb friend". and, maybe she is. she'd do her best not to let it bother her anyways. but, it's partially a front. partially. she is oblivious for the most part, which makes her seem like she lacks a filter. however, when something matters, a lot of those choices are deliberate. she pretends to misunderstand when something hurts her feelings. she "misreads" the room and totally throws off the vibe of the conversation because it's getting uncomfortable and it's easier to play dumb than to address it. because she's used to having a lack of faith in her, it's become a defense mechanism and one she relies on heavily. to top it off, she's so used to being the happy and positive one, she believes it's created an image of strength in a way. especially after the murder. if she kept on like nothing happened, maybe it'd be easier for the others. so, she could never let them see the cracks in the foundation. she sometimes tried to convince herself that the cracks weren't there at all.

hobbies
automotive mechanics — it's a weird hobby, but her first love. her father and grandfather were both auto mechanics and somewhere along the way she was taught by them. she attempted for awhile a career in it. however, when she moved to anyang she found herself overworked, underpaid, and stuck in an environment where she was belittled and never taken seriously for her gender. so, it's become more of a side hobby.

fitness & sports — as an adult, she's made a point to stay in shape and has found that she quite enjoys it. in school she had always loved sports, she participated in everything she could get her hands on, though she was never quite as good as her cousin and was always overshadowed by him. before she landed her current job(and, after her miserable time as an auto mechanic), she worked as a junior high sports coach. she mainly coached volleyball, despite the fact it was not a sport she really enjoyed in school. in fact, her true love is the ice. while she's tried a little bit of hockey with very little success, she's always had a knack for figure skating. she keeps it up in her spare time, though she recognizes she's nowhere near good enough to go pro. that dream died a long time ago.

animals — she sincerely does not know what the cause is, but, animals always seem to gravitate towards her. maybe it's because she also always seems to gravitate towards them. she genuinely loves animals and has a bad habit of taking in strays and trying to catch wild ones that she's convinced might be hurt. she's accumulated four dogs and two cats right now in her tiny home back in anyang and even feeds the neighbors pets as they wander around the city. she also bird-watches quite frequently(she keeps a book!!) and enjoys riding horses when she can get out of the city and into a rural area that will allow her to.

fears
dying — talking about death really freaks her out and she hates thinking about her own mortality at all.

letting other people down — it's part of why she tries to keep a sunny disposition at all times. she's afraid to disappoint anyone.

being alone — after hana, she's afraid of being alone. she had always been uncomfortable living alone, but after seeing how the isolation wrecked her dear friend, she became much more worried with becoming truly alone.

myungsoo — even though he's long been dead, something about him still shakes her to her core. her demeanor visibly changes whenever his name is mentioned.

ailments
there's the slight chance she might have some undiagnosed adhd, but nothing more. she's gotten over the nightmares about myungsoo for the most part. they rarely happen anymore, save for the occasional nights where she eats too much dairy before bed.

skills
handy — areum is great with her hands. while she can't read a room of people, she had no problem diagnosing any mechanical problems she might come across. she's frequently the neighborhood handyman who agrees to fix toasters and air conditioning units when someone's has broken.

playing dumb — she is definitely smarter than she lets on, but enjoys being treated simpler than she is(for the most part). she's good at letting people believe that she's a happy person with nothing wrong in her life. it also makes her really good at stalling or distracting people. she was typically the one sent out into the hall to keep a teacher stopped in their tracks while everyone else finished up what they were doing and left.

sports — ice skating and dance are especially her forte. it means she's strong, quick, and nimble.

math — math is the only thing she was good at in school. it's the one subject that has always come easy to her.

background

birth
areum was born on a warm spring afternoon. after a few particularly windy weeks, most days accompanied by some rain, the clouds disappeared and the winds died down to a light breeze. her parents were older when they had her. due to a mixture of fertility issues and eventually age, the couple had accepted the idea that they wouldn't have any. they could live happy and fulfilling lives without a child. and, of course, as soon as they came to terms with that, hyejin was miraculously pregnant with their one and only child: areum.

life.
areum loved being an only child. she wasn't spoiled or let off the hook like many only children are. she was also incredibly wanted, she was never left to feel as though she wasn't loved or as if she was a burden. outside of her formal schoolmates and many pets, her parents are her best friends.

school never meant much to her, at least not the actual classes. she never went to learn and barely retains any knowledge from her time in class. what was always more important to her. when she was very young she found herself very close to [the star athlete], up until he and seonggi became close— which was relatively fast, considering that the two boys were childhood friends. that's when she met min hana and min hana became her closest friend.

when myungsoo started targeting the girls, areum wasn't safe. she didn't suffer nearly as much as hana did, but, she did suffer. she never spoke up about it. it wasn't something people needed to know and she needed to be strong for them. if anyone knew that she had been hurt too, they would pity her. she would be looked at differently. she would be weak and alone and she couldn't be that way. so she lied.

areum was definitely too nice to myungsoo. she thought that maybe if she was kid it would appease him, and if he felt like he was a part of the group he would stop being that way. so she was always all smiles. she would casually say "maybe he's not that bad", but it was more for herself. her run-ins weren't ever nice. the first few times, she tried to resist. but, he was violent. in a particularly nasty struggle, he overpowered her and snapped her wrist. she lied to everyone and said she tripped and fell outside and broke it when she tried to catch herself. she gave up after that. she didn't put up a fight and simply did what was needed in order for things to be done with as soon as possible. when hana came forward about what happened, when she and [thing two] were asked if they had ever been the target of such violence she only quietly nodded her head— but she was so shell-shocked she wasn't even sure if it was noticeable.

death.
after myungsoo's murder, she was the quickest one to bounce back. she came back to school all smiles, her usual, lively self. she looked solemn when she was expected to, but was right back to shouting about something silly when the moment had passed. some were shocked at how easily she could pretend. but, the truth was, she'd had some practice. the same year myungsoo passed, areum's father had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. her, her mother, and her father agreed to keep it between the three of them. she had dealt with that grief in private and continued on in school as though nothing happened. her father had passed not long after graduation.

when she graduated, she left to work. her plan was to get away from her family and become an auto mechanic like her dad, but it didn't quite work out for her. after less than a year of working as one, she quit and decided to pursue a degree as an electrical engineer and has recently become employed as a broadcasting and sound engineer for a large news network in anyang.

hearing of hana's death really hurt areum. after leaving home, she had tried to reach out to her a few times but their contact never lasted long. areum felt guilty for never have visiting more than once. hana was... more than a friend to areum. areum had a habit of having intense crushes on people, even if she barely knew them. they grew up together, and after a period of self-discovery, hana was her first girl crush. she was her first girl kiss. she was her first girlfriend at the very start of grade eleven. hana was shy about their relationship, so they never revealed it to the group. areum didn't remember ever breaking up officially. they just drifted apart as myungsoo's aggressions got worse and worse. areum still hasn't said anything about her relationship with hana to anyone and feels incredibly guilty about her death.

All his life, Nam-ji has been known as a friendly and generous individual. The man will never fail to greet you with a warm smile and ask you about your day. If you ever need his help or advice, he more than likely won't hesitate to give it. Check-ins are common with him too, as he seems to always know when something is up. By the same token, he is very supportive and agreeable. You'll never find that he has anything bad to say about another person. He'll raise you up and cheer you on for as long as it takes.

Naturally, this personality of his had pushed him into the mediator and counselor roles. Whenever there was an argument among his peers, he would be the one to deescalate the situation. Being the calmer and more (outwardly) relaxed friend of the group, he is the one that the others look to for advice, comfort, or stability. His patience and optimistic outlook draws people to him like a lighthouse amid a raging storm.

However, as much as he presents himself this way, much of his demeanor comes from a place of fear. Fear of the perception of others, their disappointment, or their rejection. Because of this, he devalues and minimizes his own feelings in order to make those around him happy. He gives more than he takes, not allowing himself to have opinions and thoughts of his own.

In order to aid in his people pleasing tendencies, he remains complacent and unconfrontational. The thought of having even the smallest spat with another can be distressing for Nam-ji. It's just too scary; they may change their perception of him. He would no longer be the sweet and humble person that they thought they knew. Moreover, despite his counselor role, he often runs from his problems and has a difficult time facing them. He much prefers the comfort that comes with familiarity.

PERSONALITY

For the first 16 years of his life, Nam-ji was born and raised in the Taebaek Mountains of the Gangwon Province in South Korea. His family was nuclear: having two parents and an older brother. His father worked as a coal miner and was rather hard-headed and emotionally distant. His mother was a housewife, spending her time taking care of her sons. She was caring in her own way; Tough love being her strong suit. Lastly, comes his brother. He was a high-achieving student whom participated in one too many extracurricular activities.

In primary school, he was pretty quiet and shy. He kept to himself and stayed out of everyone's way. It wasn't until a bubbly classmate of his approached him that he started to break out of his shell. Nam-ji envied how easily they were able to become friends with everyone and as time went on, he learned to copy their behavior. It was a slow start at first, with this friend of his introducing him to their friends. Among these many friends of theirs, he met Seong-gi, [The Star Athlete], Hana, [Thing 1], [Thing 2], and [The Hoiden]. He didn't know it at the time, but he would be stuck with this group for quite a long time.

Around this period as well, his home life was rather dysfunctional. As stated before, his father was emotionally distant and would sometimes have outbursts from stress. On the other hand, his mom was hot and cold. Often times she would switch between being affectionate and antagonistic. As an 8-13 year old at the time, it was difficult for him to gauge what sort of response he would get from his parents on any given day. Thus, he developed his people-pleasing mentality.

Further down his timeline at the age of 16, Nam-ji and his family moved to the city in order for him to go to high school. By then, his identity as the unconfrontational mediator of the group was solidified. If he ever wanted to change this about himself, it would take a lot of unpacking. Not to mention, the pressure from peers and family didn't make it any easier. It would be difficult to sum up Nam-ji's high school experience in just a few words. There were many highs and lows during his 3 years.

However, one particular low branded itself in his mind for years to come. A bona fide creep by the name of Myungsoo was a reoccurring problem for him and his friend group; especially for the two girls. Initially, they tried ignoring him. When that didn't work, the group grew frustrated and went for a more aggressive approach.

They happened to meet him at the top of cliffside and confronted him. More so the rest of the group than Nam-ji of course. It all happened so quickly. One thing lead to another and Seong-gi shoved Myungsoo. The way he stumbled could of been entertaining had it not been for the fact that he fell off the edge. Not being far from the cliffside himself, he could hear the sounds that emitted from the boy as he tumbled. A mix of thuds and crashes, as well as a few yelps and cracks.

Nam-ji was frozen in place; adrenaline pumping through his veins. He could barely process what had happened. The following day, he woke up at home. It must've all been a terrible dream. He carried on believing that not only because he fainted shortly after the scene, but also because the rest of the group didn't speak of it. However, when their former classmate's body was discovered in the spring, the reality of it all hit him like a truck. Fortunately, neither him nor his friends were suspected and faced no consequences. Despite that, he lived with the guilt and shame for over a decade.

Once he graduated high school, the group went their separate ways. Nam-ji majored in wood-working and after four years of blood sweat and tears, he was hired by a wood working company. He worked three years at this company and quit to do commission work. It was a lot more freeing to set his own hours and not be at the mercy of another person.

Tae is known to be the jokester of everything he is a part of. Becoming the head of groups as if by magnet due to how easy he talks to people. He does whatever he can to make people happy and laughing, making him feel like he is worth something for once. He does this with crude jokes, reckless and dangerous stunts, and even hurting others for a quick laugh. People finding him annoying or leaving him is his biggest fear in the world. He feels a panic attack coming on just at the thought of it.

He tried to keep others away with his assholeness, even to the point he enjoyed it because it made him feel like he was better than others. Though some managed to get through, not just hanging out with him to get a laugh at bringing down others. He got attached and they become his biggest weakness. They taught him empathy and made it impossible for him not to feel anything every time he brings someone down, even though he will never tell anyone.

He is reckless and often embarks on dangerous activities for attention and makes others stick around even more. Being alone takes a huge toll on Tae to the point he becomes self-destructive including(TW) using drugs, not eating, over-exercising, or even self-harm. Tae hates himself and blames himself for his own birth. He is desperately trying to be wanted and be good enough for everyone.
interests: anything related to water, friendships, swimming, and pasta
hobbies: swimming, running, gaming, cooking(exclusively pasta, no idea why), and sewing
relationships: TBD

1624250131283.pngbio: Tae was born to an extremely rich mother, one who was more interested in the life of fame than that of her son. Born by a failed birth control Tae started as nothing but a mistake, his mother using pregnancy for fame and deciding not to abort him. A famous actress is known to sleep around her entire life. Tae being abandoned by every 'dad' as soon as he started to like them. Before he finally settled down, he moved around in his early life, his mother deciding it easier to move herself than the child she had. Tae made friends quickly, but none stayed, except one boy a little older than him.

Tae put up a shield due to his utter hate for himself. The many articles talking about a problem child, and many haters online talking about how much he deserved to die. Looking in the mirror pulled out every flaw in himself and it hurt so much he felt his life spiralling out of control. He reflected the hate for himself and instead turned it on others. He took up the sharp tongue his mother had and used his own sense of flaws to harm others. He hated everything about himself, creating the knack for him to pick out the most sensitive parts of others, he used this to make himself feel better. If he couldn't love himself, no one could.

Tae may never acknowledge it but Seonggi saved his childhood. Before the others came in, and even after. The replacement for the parents who never came to his games. The one who celebrated his medals. Soon the friend group joined too and for once Tae felt like he wasn't alone. In the friend group, he felt like he had a home. Those years were the best, where Tae soared to the top of the athletic tier, finally receiving support around him. Though one's support meant more to him, his friend who had been there the longest, he always could admit he felt closest with him. The first one there for him. But soon his feelings grew sharper and he couldn't help but begin to love his best friend. This was fine, he was easily able to ignore it, as long as it meant he could hang with the other almost every day, even if it was just annoying him while the other studied.

Another thing his best friend did was create a positive in his life full of negatives, this helped Tae become a better person of sorts. He wasn't so much of an ass, usually not around his new friend group who didn't find it funny or interesting as others did. While he still brought others down to put himself up, he definitely changed a bit, even if it didn't change how others thought of him as a complete ass.

Myungsoo, one of his teammates, Tae himself being the reason he got to be around the others so much. A warning of being kicked off the swimming team for any more bad behaviour preventing him from giving the other what he deserved, leading to him putting up with the other. What happened with his teammate was a mistake, Tae would stand behind his friend at any moment, but even if it wasn't him, they didn't intend to kill him, so Tae will never blame his friend for it.

When the friend group broke up, growing apart, Tae's life fell apart. Without his friends Tae lost his backbone and fell into ruin, getting kicked from the swim team and then failing his schooling and living in a shitty apartment, mooching off his mother's income. During this time his contact with his best friend slipped and he hit an all-time low. He failed everything and the only thing he had was texting his mom's phone to which she never even read. Tae fell into bad behaviour, a secret he won't even tell his best friend is his newfound addiction to opioids. His life went to shit and he lived day to day in a haze of drugs and parties. His improving kindness fell back down, bringing him back down, lower then ever, even driving a girl in his grade to almost killing herself. Something that affected him greatly even if he didn't admit it.

When he found out one of his friends died he felt empty. His partying hit a different level and he found himself hospitalized for an OD, an accidental one, though not completely. Tae always dreamed they would all come back together one day, though it looks like his hopes were dashed. Shortly after being discharged from the hospital, Tae was heading back home for a funeral. The only good thing is being able to see everyone again... maybe his life will get better? Heading back home feels like a dream to him, and honestly, as much as he hates to admit it, he is happy about it, even if one of his friends is dead.
