Membership Length: All his life (Captain for nine months)

Bio: Antonio is a man who was forced into the life of a pirate and pressured into continuing it- not an uncommon tale among many pirate captains. As an accidental child of a pirate captain and a woman he's never met, Antonio always had the dream of being a normal explorer, but his father never allowed him to chase said dream. Instead, he was trained to fight and sail at an early age in preparation of becoming a pirate captain someday. Antonio openly spoke of wanting to deny his role as a pirate, which often led to scoldings and beatings from his father- in Martin’s eyes Antonio was a disappointment and he voiced that opinion of his son often. As a result he wasn't very well liked amongst most crew members who were loyal to Martin- often Antonio was left with only the crew's parrot, Nigel, to talk to (which wasn't the most riveting conversation ever). Due to his protests about what he was expected to do as a pirate and the other crew members getting sick of his whining, Antonio spent a good amount of his early life doing odd jobs around the ship, not really doing anything that a pirate is known for.

Eventually his father was killed, how was seemingly unknown, and Antonio suddenly became captain, a role he didn't want but could not deny. Despite not wanting to be captain, something inside him refused to let his family's crew die with his father- perhaps Martin’s harsh words finally got through to him or the many humiliations by rival crew, Pink Rose, made him snap. However, Antonio struggled to keep the power of the crew and struggled even more to keep its members loyal. After taking a big loss of crew members and money, Antonio managed to gather a small and loyal group of people whom he could call a crew, each with their own motivations and reasons for being there. With these people Antonio managed to restore some of the lost wealth of the Crew- but they were still in a far worse position they had been in than when Martin was captain. As of now Antonio aims to try and revive the Dreadeus Crew to its former glory in the name of his late father; the rest of his family and to prove to himself that he is more than what his dad and the captain of the Pink Rose told him he was.

More than a failure...

Personality: Antonio is quite an anxious person, he never seems relaxed and his mind always seems to be away from his body. One could describe him as over-analytical, he finds it hard to think on his feet, always needing a plan or a strict routine to follow. This makes him hesitant, pairing that with a hate for conflict, gives Antonio the traits of someone who shouldn't be captain of anything. However, unlike how he was a year ago, he no longer complains about is role- even though his view on it has barely been altered. Instead Antonio has unbridled determination to rise up above what he would like to be doing and focuses on retaining what he knows is important to his family's pride. This determination is something that is common for Antonio now, despite how he feels about anything he will always try his hardest to stay positive and efficient when trying to do something.

Antonio tries to present himself in a friendly manner to all those that he meets, even whilst sparring with a crew mate in order to hone his sword play he will try to be friendly with positive comments on their form and other such things. Though he has learnt his lesson in trying to deal with sarcastic or rude people in this way and will also try to act intimidating, but it's clear being mean just isn't his forte. While grudges aren't something he is fond (he is very forgiving) of and he has forgiven his dad for all the issues they’ve had, he still isn't very fond of the man. He dislikes being compared to him.

Motivation(s): Wanting to restore power to the Dreadeus clan out of respect for his family and to prove to himself that he's worth something, giving his crew mates a hand in their personal goals

Bio: Scarlet lived a very pampered life as a child, her wealthy Djinni parents often spoilt her and gave her everything she wanted. Scarlet was told stories of many great wealthy Djinni in her family's history- each seeking out a legendary treasure and travelling with pirates to do so. Yet none of them were successful- she often dreamed about being the one to find that treasure and get even more respect, fame and wealth than she already possessed and loved.

She, as many wealthy Djinni did, were taught to look down on those of her species who were poorer- giving rise to her arrogance. She treated the poor horribly and took what little they had for herself, they were powerless to stop her and any authority could only do so much to such a rich family as penalty. Many of the other Djinni- middle class and poor alike grovelled at her feet and praised her out of fear while hoping they'd get some status or money from her in return. She was powerful, she knew it and she loved it.

That all changed at the age of fifteen, Scarlet's father was recruited by a pirate crew and was reported to be dead shortly after his departure. Scarlet's mother, along with Scarlet herself, became quite depressed over that fact- her mother grew ill and became unable to take care of Scarlet. She was sent to an orphan home where many of the other, less well off, Djinni targeted her as many of them were once victims of her poor treatment of them. Though nothing major ever happened, Scarlet’s ego dropped.

Her mother got better in about a year, but unfortunately their family had lost a significant amount of wealth due to bills for her mother's care and no one earning anything. With what they had left, Scarlet left the orphanage- slightly more humble than when she entered- and joined a pirate crew in search of the legendary treasure she was told about as a child for not only her own personal gain- but for her family's name and her mother. Travelling with them for a few months Scarlet picked up sword fighting and became quite tricky to fight given her unorthodox style of using her Djinni powers whilst fighting. Upon investigating a small and uncharted island all of Scarlet's crew were wiped out by another pirate crew who were exploring the island. The other side also suffered enough damage in the fight and were forced to retreat without exploring the island- but out of spite they tore down the ship of Scarlet's former crew. Left with no money and no one to help her, Scarlet sat alone on the island for a while.

Until Antonio and the rest of the Dreadeus Crew showed up that is...

Personality: Snarky, greedy and loud is the best way to describe her, she doesn't often show any real emotion and puts up a nonchalant front when faced with most situations. Any glimmer of real emotion you'd get from her will almost certainly be covered up by a sarcastic comment. In addition to this she is rather lazy in any situation that she can be, though, no matter what she is doing, she won't hesitate to call someone out on something they're doing wrong. She doesn't take much seriously- any situation that she does would have to mean life or death, often in battles where she knows victory is guaranteed she will toy with her enemy and humiliate them for her own enjoyment and ego. This is the same reason why she enjoys conning or stealing from others (and the fact that those two things grant her wealth). All of this is backed up by a certain flare of arrogance about her which causes her to never look at anyone, even the Kings of this world, as an equal- not a chance.

Though, despite how she presents herself, on the inside she does care deeply for everyone in the crew and is undeniably grateful for helping her off that island- you may even be able to see her act selflessly for another person on a good day. Although she can usually take a joke no matter what is said or done to her (she even tolerates things like being stolen from if she knows she did it to them first) if someone has really done something wrong to her she will hold an everlasting grudge. Everlasting. It's also worth mentioning her avarice, whilst a normal trait amongst Djinni, Scarlet is excessively avaricious and will use almost any tactic to gain wealth- this makes her vulnerable to manipulation given the manipulator knows that about her.

Motivation(s): Wanting to obtain enough treasure to restore her magic back to its full potential and to gain status back, to find and obtain the legendary Djinn treasure, to go back to her hometown and kick the butts of a few orphans

~ Pyrokinesis- Can control small bodies of flame or cause a few flames to appear out of no where and shoot them at opponents as fire balls.

~ Hydrokinesis- Can control small bodies of water or create and shoot a column of water from her hands

~ Terrakinesis- Can move around small chunks of the ground to yield them as weapons or build them into structures, can also create fissures.

~ Electrokinesis- Can create electric bolts and redirect currents of electricity,

~ Treasure sensing- Can sense objects of value from far distances, she can gauge each object’s individual value and tell which is worth more.

~ Flight- Can hover for a small amount of time, useful for crossing gaps.

~ Wish granting- Can grant wishes with enough treasure offered to her, treasure offered is consumed and turned into dust in exchange (amount of treasure needed for even a small wish is ridiculously high)

Other: Hair products are 80% of what her money is spent on, she’s just as arrogant about her general appearance, most importantly her hair, as she is about everything else.

Bio: Being a Mermaid must be super cool, right? Hang out under water all day, eat whatever fish wander by, collect whosits and whatsits galor, generally just float around being all mysterious and alluring, right? Well, maybe if you live above the tides, but when you live below them, it's a different story. Nix was born into this different story. From a young age she was taught that mermaids were just supposed to sit around on rocks looking pretty until they attracted a human husband to transform. If a Mermaid passed her prime, she would be forced to marry a native Merman, who would then make her leave the ocean to work on land, sending all of her money back to him.

Well, from a young age, Nix though that sounded like a crock of seahorse-crap. A headstrong little girl who preferred playing with her father's trident to her mother's pearls, she was constantly being told that she'd never attract a husband. She learned to fight instead of sing, forsaking the traditional womanly art of water-healing, and while the other mermaids were working on their shell-tan lines, she was darting around in the water with the young mermen, playing a completely un-copywritten game called ... Blutzball, yeah, the U is the important part.

Anyway, for a young mermaid to act this way is one thing, but for one who has become a woman to wilfully neglect her homely duties? Well, that just wasn't heard of. It should come as no surprise then that, when Nix got into a fist-fight with another mermaid on her first day singing on the rocks, she was banished from the ocean depths, forced to live among the humans until she could find a man, or hell, a woman, ANYONE!

Nix woke up the next morning on the shore of a deserted island. Thankfully only half the island was deserted, as the other half was playing host to the wildly intoxicated half-crew of the Dread something something ... Dreadalus? Dreaderus? Whatever the ship's called, they seemed eager to recruit someone who could fight, scales or no, and she's been working on board for about a week now. Still hasn't quite found her niche.

Personality: Nix is as passionate as the sea. Quick to anger, quick to laugh, it's not that she isn't smart, or even that she's terribly emotional, she just doesn't see a point in mincing words, in hiding emotions, in disguising motives. If she wants a share of the treasure, she'll say something, or she'll fight you for it. If she doesn't want to get married, she'll forsake her ocean home and become a pirate. If she doesn't want to wear her nice boots to the christening, then by god you're going to see some mermaid toes! GET USED TO IT!

... Secretly, it's all a defence. Nix grew up having everything about her personality constantly criticized by everyone around her, her entire culture. Part of her just kind of assumes that everyone she meets thinks she's weird, and she's justifiably standoffish. Those she comes to trust will meet an entirely different woman, one who is fiercely loyal, supportive ... even ... *gulp* friendly and cheerful at times. but you will take that secret down to davy jones' locker, mark my words.

Motivations: Enough money and success to rub in her family, nay her entire culture's face.

Weapon(s): A long, curved, single-edge sword with a blue coral handle wrapped in black leather of some kind.

Magic: Hydrokineses - Nix has the ability to, so long as her hands are free, control nearby water with the force of her will. She is able to create simple shapes, large objects, and the like. This could mean lifting a ball of seawater onto a flaming sail, or using a jet of water to overturn a small boat. Really the applications are limited only by the situation ... and the amount of water in the nearby area. Tainted water is harder to control, and Nix says it leaves her feeling magically "greasy."

Racial abilities: Nix can breathe underwater, has scales that allow her greater mobility in an aquatic environment, as well as a small measure of natural body armour, and her hands and toes are webbed. Her fingers and toes are tipped with sharp claws, and her eyes are covered by a nictating membrane to allow for perfect vision underwater. She also has an organ in her body capable of adjusting her ballast without her moving her limbs. Finally, while she doesn't have echolocation, she is able to speak underwater. This isn't a special mermaid ability, anyone with their ears in the water nearby can easily hear her. Finally, as a Mermaid, Nix can speak to fish. Now, one might normally consider this a magical ability, but that person would be wrong. This is not telepathy, or sub-sonics, or magic ... she speaks fish. Actually, if we're being accurate, she speaks fish, whale, porpoise, dolphin, squid, octopus, sea-turtle, and sea lion fluently. She also knows a few words in a smattering of other sea-languages.

Other: Nix has a pet black cat named Poseidon. He turns into a fish. Not like ... a cool fish, just a fish. He's a messenger spirit, but mostly just sleeps and steals fish.

Appearance: Ezra looks about his age, tall and on the lean side. He'd be unremarkable if it weren't for the veins of metal running through his body, even in his hair. It gives the affected areas a silvery sheen. He usually keeps most of his body covered with a long shirt and pants, but leaves his hands uncovered so he can use his magic better. His clothing is mundane, but covered in pouches and pockets he uses to store his immediate valuables.

Membership Length: 7 years.

History: A freak accident with a new type of magical metal resulted in Ezra's body being infused with it. Revile as a freak at best and an abomination at worst he fled and ended up skulking from town to town before ending up on Dreadeus's ship. Having had a long run of poverty, Ezra decided he hated it and joined up for the chance at being rich enough that his appearance wouldn't matter. During his time with the crew Ezra didn't care about what they did as long as the money kept coming in. When the crew's reputation took hit after hit and their revenue became negative he seriously considered jumping ship before they came across Scarlet.

Personality: Ezra loves money. As long as he doesn't see any likely consequences and doesn't violate his personal ethics or make him feel bad he'll do whatever it takes to acquire more wealth. That's not to say he's mean though, Ezra is entirely friendly as long as things are going his way, even willing to spend money to help a friendship along. After all, what's the point in having money if you can't spend it? If he's not dong something money-relating, Ezra is either reading, listening to music, eating (he loves food), or fighting.

Of the other crew members, Ezra is not impressed by the new Captain, unsure of whether or not Scarlet is a good investment, might end up with a slight crush on Nix, finds Juarim exasperating for how often Ezra had to use his magic to stick him to a nearby metal object to keep him from attacking him, finds Kumar/Kumarie interesting, and feels sorry for Elias.

Motivation: To find, get, and have treasure. Money, money, money!

Weapon: Ezra carries a large cutlass and a number of metal spheres he can use his magic to fire like bullets.

Magic: Metal: middle level control over metal and magnetism.

Racial abilities:
Ezra has the same problems any Human with a bunch of metal in their body would. He can't swim without a flotation device, isn't as fast as a normal Human, and he's lucky the metal in his body doesn't rust.
Ezra's body is stronger than a Human's though. He needs less rest, is physically stronger, and has better balance than the average Human. He also is more resistant to disease and poison and doesn't need to breath as often.

Other: Ezra has somehow managed to tame a Emydocephalus Annulatus seasnake and keep her alive over the course of the voyages he's been on. She's not poisonous and has no teeth, living off eggs, so she's harmless even if her light blue and black coloring makes her look scary. He's named her Elizabeth and she lives in his clothes when she can and in his cabin when she can't. Ezra's got her trained, but she doesn't like to do much other than laze about and be fed.

Bio: A simple island boy, Jaurim's life was peaceful and he knew of nothing of the outside world -- only his tribe. In the middle of the night multiple ships arrived at their shores, before anyone really understood what was going on they were under attack. Men, women and children who fought back were mercilessly slaughtered. There was only one man who managed to completely halt the invasion of pirates, Jaurim's father Jarek. Covered in the blood of the invaders', single handedly he'd taken out just as many of the pirates as they had the villagers. The battle seemed to halt for a moment as the Captain of the pirates stepped forward with a proposition. No more innocents needed to die, they would decide it with a fair and honorable duel between the both of them.

Jaurim felt his heart drop as his father accepted. The man, who'd introduced himself as Captain Varkell was definitely skilled with a blade and against any other opponent would definitely have dominated. But his dad wasn't just your average warrior, he was the best in their clan. It didn't take long before Varkell was dropped to one knee completely and utterly defeated, however before the final blow he gave one long hard whistle -- which was followed by the sound of a gunshot. Jaurim watched as his father fell bleeding on the floor, the last of his life leaking out of a hole in the back of his neck.

The rest was a blur as the pirates began capturing those who surrendered as slaves and killing the rest who continued to resist. Asura fled deep into the jungle completely mad with grief. It had been a month before he had the nerve to return back to his ruined village. Dead bodies still littered the ground and all the homes had been looted. From what he could see, he was the only one from his clan remaining. He was filled with a murderous rage, the only thing on his mind was revenge. It was then, he heard the voices from the beach. Flying into a rage he charged forward completely ready to tear apart whoever had dared set foot on his island, only to promptly find his face smushed into the sand with a blade pressed to the back of his neck. He could barely see anything, only boots. Suddenly he was asked to explain why he'd attacked, he told his story through muffled yelling and screaming. The voice explained he wouldn't get very far in his revenge on his own, so how about he join his crew instead, after all he could use another spirited fighter. Jaurim agreed without hesitation and was finally let up from the ground. It was then he was introduced to Martin Dreadeus and joined his crew of pirates.

Personality: Hard-headed and impulsive, Jaurim is ruled by his emotions and lives to fight. Only measuring a person's worth by their usefulness in a battle, having little respect for people who can't back up their words with action. In day to day interactions Jaurim is a bit of an asshole and prone to insulting others or just being straight up rude. Extremely abrasive, he has a tendency to poke people's buttons to try to get a reaction out of them (or better yet a fight). But if you manage to earn his respect, you'll find him to be a much warmer and friendlier individual. In a battle however is one of the few times you'll see Jaurim smile and act relatively cheerful (if not completely sadistic). Despite his rough nature, Jaurim does have a genuine care for those of the crew and will look after them -- although he'll berate them the whole time.

Motivations: To find Captain Varkell and force him to watch as his ship and crew are sent to the bottom of the ocean. And only after the man is completely broken -- kill him... and y'know find treasure and stuff.

Weapon(s): Two daggers with a spiked knuckle guard

Magic: Nerp

Racial abilities: Asura are an aggressive, nearly feral race of warriors and their biology reflects this. Naturally quick and agile, Jaurim also has a prehensile tail he can use to grip objects or trip up opponents. Sharp talon like claws protrude from Jaurim's fingers and toes as well as his most of his teeth are notably fanged. His ears are incredibly sensitive, allowing him to pick up on even the smallest of noises.When pushed to an extreme, Jaurim like many of his kind are able to enter a 'berserk' state (easily noted by their eyes turning completely black in color) increasing their strength and speed at the cost of their mental faculties, turning into a wild animal unable to use weapons or figure between friend or foe.

Other: Jaurim has a deep reverence for the late captain, seeing him as a sort of father figure and holds little respect for Antonio considering him to be too weak to lead. The only thing keeping him in check and following orders is out of respect for Martin Daedalus' memory.

Membership Length: Nine months

Bio: Kumarie grew up with like most kitsune, training, learning their species' history, with the occasional adventure here and there. Kumarie learned early on that her species was not like and could switch between gender at will. Kumarie grew up focusing more on the female gender, although within the kitsune community gender ment nothing, it only matter if you come from a family with a deep history. Knowledge is and will always be the best currency for a kitsune, and as such the longest running families are the most powerful within this species community. The Altena family is one of the few families with a connection to the Ten Tails Kitsune. The oldest and the strongest kitsune ever recorded in history. Growing up Kumarie loved to hear the tales and rumours of the Ten Tails and it always excited her, so much to the point that she made her goal to find it's tails.

The most common folk tale states that before the Juu Te-Ru, or Ten Tailes, disappeared it sacrificed it's tails to create ten different weapons. At first people picked on Kumarie for believing these old rumors until she found one. It was in the hands of a pirate smuggler so she stole it from him. She told her family as soon as possible and they were shocked to see that she had found it. The Altena family rejoiced but were quickly saddened when Kumarie told them that she would be leaving to search for the rest of the tails. Marie bid her family a farewell and was off look for their species' past and history

Personality: Kumar is usually a very calm person, with his tea, that always sees the bright side in any situation. The young man has much love for his crew mates, including the arrogant Djinn, and shares his limited wisdom with them to make sure that don't do anything rash or irresponsible. He is incredible protective of the crew and is always ready to jump to battle for them, especially with the weaker members. Without his cups of herbal tea, Kumar becomes aggressive and irritable ready to fight at a moments notice. His usually loving and calm demeanor is nonexistent and he begins to bark orders at every one the ship as if he the captain, threatening to cut off a few limbs if no one listens.

Motivations: To find the Blessed Ten Tails

Weapon(s): Dancing Reaver - One of the Blessed Ten Tails, a Katana that can absorb energy and project it. Kumarie only uses this as a last resort!

Magic: N/A

Racial abilities: Kitsune are semi-immortal meaning they can not die by aging, but they also get stronger and smarter as they age. All kitsune are able to harness Fox-fire, which is just the physically manifestation of the kitsune's energy. Fox-fire comes in three different forms lighting, light, and the basic fire, but there are rare exception where someone is able to use more than one, but Kumarie can only generate fire. As a kitsune Kumarie's senses are enhanced and she has been trained as a tracker and can control the extension of her claws and her multiple tails. Kumarie is also able to switch their genderd whenever they feel like.

Other: Kumarie makes a special tea that she drinks everyday and throughout most of the day. It keeps her calm most of the time

Bio: For as long as he could remember, Samson’s life was pretty ordinary. He was born to to your average, run of the mill farmers living on your average, run of the mill farm. They were far from rich, but they never went without. From an early age it seemed his entire life was already planned out for him, and Samson was fine with that. It meant he knew where he was going in life and what to expect. Growing up, Samson’s father always told him and his younger brother that they would never have to worry about pirates coming to their doors, as they were so far inland that pirates would assuredly walk away from their home with a loss in resources. Even to this day, long after his father’s death those words still ring true.

Life was simple growing up on the family farm. Wake up. Work all day using the power of Terrakenesis passed down the Roach family for generations. Go to bed to do it all again tomorrow. The only break from the glorious monotony of it all was Esolda, oldest daughter of his father’s closest friend. The two were inseparable from the time they could walk, and came as no surprise that on Esolda’s 21st birthday the two were wed. It seemed as if Elias’ life was going to go exactly the way he had expected. For 38 years the two were married, happily spending time with friends and family and the occasional couple’s night alone. As the years passed it became clear Esolda’s health was deteriorating. The couple visited more doctors than they cared to admit, with all of them giving the same prognosis. At most, she would have another 3 months to live. To Samson and Esolda’s joy she was given 4. The two spent what time they had left together, never apart longer than absolutely necessary. A week prior to her death Esolda gave her husband a sealed envelope, eventually convincing him to read it after she had passed.

Life was much different for Samson after Esolda’s passing. The things that once brought him joy now only brought him pain. Everywhere he went reminded him of her. He ultimately decided to leave the safety of the family farm, leaving its care to his younger brother with the promise he would drop in from time to time. His travels eventually brought him across the path of one Martin Dreadeus, a man whom he remained loyal to until his death. When young Antonio took over as captain of the Dreadeus crew, Samson was one of the few members willing to support the young successor, proving his dedication by being one of the few members of Martin’s crew to stick by Antonio despite the many hardships that followed.. Antonio had earned his respect, and though he would never admit it out loud he sees the young captain as the son he never had.

Personality: Samson hides his pain behind a mask of sarcasm and jokes, but nonetheless is a hard working, dependable old coger. He does his best to keep others at arms reach, not wanting to feel the pain of loss like he has in the past. He puts his knowledge of how to live off the land to use when it’s required, and is often times able to talk a merchant down on his prices for his fruits and vegetables. He has changed since the death of his wife, but knows full well such a change was necessary in order for him to survive for as long as he has.

Motivations: Try and put his old life behind him by doing the things that others said he would be the one to never do.

Weapon(s): Uses Terrakenesis to craft temporary blunt weapons and shields.

Magic: Terrakenesis: masterful control over the very earth beneath his feet.M His favorite story to tell is when he found a room hidden behind a wall of stone, revealing treasure that would have otherwise gone unnoticed.

Other: He still has the letter Esolda wrote him, safely tucked away somewhere out of reach of others and himself. He has yet to read the letter.
