True terror is not the sight of death, but the fear of it. What is the fear of death? Terror of the unknown.
Serana

Race: Vampire
House: LaChance
Orientation: Straight
Age: 120
Merits
Occult Library
Flaws

Nature: Alchemist
Humanity: 5
Personality: Strict and studious, Serana isn't exactly one for jokes or messing around. She's often found in the House's study, reading over ancient tomes and grimoires. Not exactly the most social vampire, she prefers spending her time alone or with only a few members of the House. However, she is incredibly loyal to Lucien and is willing to do whatever he asks of her. Granted, this is more due to the blood bond she has with him than anything.

Given she isn't one to leave her haven, Serana rarely enters combat. If the need arises, however, she will fight back without mercy or remorse. She'll only relent once the enemy has been rendered silent.

History: Ever since she was a child, the arcane arts fascinated Serana. Born to a family of mages, she spent many years learning their arts. As time went on, she found herself stumbling upon blood magic. A forbidden art among the mages, she chose to practice it in secret. While still unable to perform even the simplest of blood magics, she still managed to catch the eye of the vampire Lucien LaChance. He approached her during the night, giving a terrifying display of the kind of power held by users of Thaumaturgy.

He warned the young mage that following such a path came with a cost: her life. Whether taken by the Council of Mages or by him then and there, her life was forfeit. Unfazed by the ominous warning, Serana instead asked to study the magic under him. Sensing some potential and amused by her boldness, Lucien embraced her that night. Though her desire for power didn't go unnoticed by the elder vampire. To prevent any kind of betrayal from her, Serana had to drink of his blood and form a blood bond before any instruction would begin.

Thaumaturgy: 5

Disciplines:

Path of Blood

  • A Taste For Blood: Gather a variety of information from a blood sample
  • Blood Rage: Force a target to unknowingly spend blood
  • Theft of Vitae: Steal blood from a target at a distance
  • Cauldron of Blood: Cause a victim's blood to burn them from within
Path of the Levinbolt

  • Spark: Novice thaumaturges can build up a tiny static charge, enough to make a noticeable snap with a touch. Such a discharge poses little threat to healthy targets, though the energy can ruin delicate electronics or stun an unlucky victim.
  • Illuminate: Neonates sometimes derogatively refer to this effect as the "40-watt Tremere," right up until they've felt its sting. The thaumaturgy summons enough electricity to cover her hand or arm in arching bolts. This power can charge a battery or briefly run a small device, or even leave a nasty burn on a touched subject.
Path of Conjuring

  • Summon the Simple Form: At this level of mastery, the conjurer may create simple, inanimate objects. The object cannot have any moving parts and may not be made of multiple materials. For example, the conjurer may summon a steel baton, a lead pipe, a wooden stake or a chunk of granite.
  • Permanency: The object is, as this level's name suggests, permanent, though simple objects are still all that may be created.
  • Magic of the Smith: The Kindred may now conjure complex objects of multiple components and with moving parts. For example, the thaumaturge can create guns, bicycles, chainsaws or cellular phones.
