"You want my help?" A Midhalpadian hunter questioned from her perch in a mighty tree, a grin soon crossing her lips. "Alright, but you have to tell me a story afterwards."

Personae

Appearance:
The first thing many notice about Sera is her eyes; piercing blue, their icy glare is enough to make many stop in their tracks. The dark war paint adorning the hunter's face only serves to make those eyes stand out even more. She prefers to keep her raven hair cut short, letting it lay however it pleases. Often resulting in a more wild appearance. Despite spending a majority of her time outside, Sera's skin never seems to progress from a light tan.

Short with a lean, muscular build, Sera may not look like much at first glance. Though her speed, agility, and accuracy with her bow will quickly prove you wrong. Her clothing is often in more earthen colors; browns and greens to better hide herself within the forest. More often than not will you find Sera being mistaken for a man at first glance. Though such an assumption doesn't really faze her.

Around her neck rests a worn leather cord adorned with the teeth and claws of various predators she's faced in her lifetime. At the center of the necklace rests a strange amulet.

Equipment:
Like a majority of Midhalpadians, Sera devoted weapons for only certain kinds of foes. Her bow, Szelest for beasts, her bone daggers Blixt and Riva for humans, and her sword Sjunga for monsters. With help from her mother and considerable trial and error, Sera made her own leather cuirass and vambraces from the hides of various animals she's hunted. Like all of her equipment it's far from impressive looking, but it's functional and that's all that matters to Sera.

Personality:
Growing up in the wilderness of Midhalpad, Sera didn't see many people outside of her family and the occasional trader or traveler. This left her with a fairly blunt nature, stating what she sees with little concept or regard for what may or may not be 'proper' in a situation. She cares very little for things such as titles or nobility, respect is something that must be earned in her eyes. The concept of social classes in general is easily lost on this young hunter. Thanks to being fairly naive to the world, it doesn't take much for a person to mislead her should they desire.

Despite her fairly naive nature, Sera is a quick learner with a seemingly endless curiosity for the world around her. She easily finds herself enraptured by the stories of travelers she encounters during her hunts and will happily lend a hand in exchange for a new tale.

Biography

Place of birth: Central Midhalpad

Kind of people: Midhalpadian

Background:
Born the to hunter Brynjar and his wife Saja, Sera lived a fairly simple life. She and her family made their living trading meats, pelts, and leather goods with a nearby farm for some of their crops. Her father was a master at crafting various bows, a skill he worked to pass on to her among others. While she's grown to make fairly respectable bows for herself, they still pale in comparison to her father's work. At least in her eyes they do. Sera learned from her mother how to make leather from the skins of animals she brought down and how to craft various goods from the result.

From an early age she was taught to respect and live with the land around her. As she grew older, long hunting trips out in the wilderness of Midhalpad grew more and more common for the young hunter. It was during one of these trips she crossed paths with an old man by the name of Lornik. Sera found him to be rather odd; despite the deep wrinkles and the silvery white hair that spilled over his shoulders there was always an air of youth to him. He was capable of weaving tales that would draw in any who'd listen, the very reason Sera would come to visit whenever she was hunting near where he lived.

His stories of the old gods were what she loved the most, particularly those of Kvicke the god of the hunt. Tales of him leading foolish or unworthy hunters in circles as their prey continued to evade them. Or the stories of the gifts he would give to those that were faithful and true hunters in his eyes. To pad silently through the forest, disappear within the wilderness or get help from animals in tracking ones prey.

A few years of exchanging stories passed, the two becoming dear friends. It was then Lornik gifted her the black amulet she wears to this day. Along with learning to use the abilities granted those faithful to Kvicke. She was taught a ritual to be used before a hunt and at the start of each day during the hunt. Unbeknownst to her these abilities are in truth wind weaving spells, the rituals are to gather and store winds in her amulet for use. Whether or not Lornik knew of these truths, he took that answer to the grave having fallen ill during a particularly harsh winter.

Abilities

Qualities:
Skilled in tracking and hunting, Sera is knowledgeable of the various plants and animals dwelling within Midhalpad.
Adept at surviving in the wild
Expert marksman
Capable of crafting bows, strings, and new arrows

Drawbacks:
Growing up in the wilderness of Midhalpad, Sera isn't able to read or write very well. She can usually read and understand most signs for the various shops in cities, but books or letters? She'll need a hand with them.
Her rather blunt nature and naivety don't make her all that suited for handling delicate social situations. Or . . . many social situations in general.
While more than capable of practically disappearing in the forest, Sera certainly isn't going to be sneaking around in a city any time soon.

Special Abilities:
Gifts to Kvicke's faithful (actually wind weaving, but Sera isn't aware of that)
Predator's Steps: Muffles the sound of the user's footfalls, making them completely silent. Doesn't work on stone or otherwise paved roads.
Forest's Embrace: Coax the surrounding brush to help hide your presence from sight
Songs of the Wild: Ask a simple question to an animal and understand the reply (i.e. did a man come through here? Yes! Big man! Scary man!)
