Personality

Sensitive and emotional, Jason has always been one to over sympathize and do anything to make someone else happy at his own happiness's cost. He;s always been the type of guy to let people walk all over him, then come running back if they say they miss him. He's extremely gullible and loves affection. Holding hands? His specialty. Cuddling? A bonus.

He's very sweet and caring but it's one of his biggest faults because of the huge love he gives only to receive pretty much nothing back. A big fault of his, is that he secludes himself from his own emotions. He likes to ignore them in favor of not bothering other people with his issues and faults. He is heavily affected by others emotions and his mood often goes with how the other person is feeling that day.

History
Born and Raised in Sydney, Australia, he never really grew up with ties to his Korean family, since his parents had both run away to Australia after a disapproved marriage. His parents are well off business entrepreneurs and he grew up well off and with everything he ever wanted. He never got spoiled though, because his older sister always bought so much and took so much money he felt burdened to even look at his parents money and it's stuck with him him to this day. He hates spending money and often pretends he's a lot poorer then he truly is because of it.

As he grew older, he grew more curious about South Korea due to some holidays and cultural aspects he grew in but he never got fluent or really ever knew much since his parents seemed to act like it was a dark subject to bring up. He started to make friends and one happened to be a kid named Park Sin Yang, or 'LilSin' as Jason affectionately calls him, they grew very close over social media, though Sin ghosted him for a month or two before Jason finally managed to get him to be friendly. They had a sweet connection and it made his fascination for his parents homeland grow, and he knew he wanted to live near Sin and see him everyday (though he would never admit it was because of his growing crush) so he looked at colleges in South Korea. It was fate that one of the best programs for film happened to be there and soon he was on his way down to South Korea.

Family: From a young age, Sin Yang was pampered by his parents. Being the couple's only child, they spoiled and doted on him regularly. This behavior only increased when they found out he was partially deaf and it was deteriorating. But, their pampering felt like a pity mechanism, and his father was more transparent when it came to pity, so he ended up gluing himself to his mother. Sure, this behavior hurt his father, but Sin Yang was quite young.

His relationship with his father always felt distant, but he supposed it was his fault. He stuck to his mother and left his father out in the cold. Their conversations were awkward, consisted mostly of small talk and were always started by his father. There was never any deepness and emotions in them.

His grandparents were harsher on him, and they were brutally honest. They never shied away from mentioning the child's hearing or speaking about his future. It was always a real shock for Sin every time he visited them.

If there was one thing people who knew the Choi's could all agree on was that Jun-ho is the most puppy-like kid they have ever met. Being the youngest in a big family lead to lots of nurture from a young age. This left him with an immense value for family and a lack of independence. All his siblings loved different things and being the natural sponge that he was he gained lots of interests, making him arguably the most talented member in his family. However being around so many people his whole life has lead to him being very extroverted. This double edged sword is walked finely as, yes, his great social skills and willingness to include everyone is great, but his lack of slowing down and empathising can lead to lots of misunderstandings which he cannot notice, even today. Some suspect that he has some form of condition that makes him this way but no one has ever diagnosed him with anything. He's simply seen as a heavily babied guy with a love for people.

Family is the most important thing to the Chois. Jun-ho was lucky that he didn't remember the pain his family went through to get to where they are now. In fact, all of his siblings remember a time when they have seen their parents particularly forlorn. Jun-ho however has simply been a smiley puppy his entire life. Having so many people around him shaped him into the most positive person in his family and he always wants to do right by them.
This started with hobbies. During his childhood, he did so much with his time. He would spend the mornings learning new things through exploring, wasted away the afternoon with sport, did every art form he could think of before the family meal and read until it was bed time. People had great expectations from him. He was smart and creative. He was a parents greatest hope. His only fault was that he was energetic. Jun-ho couldn't sit still and be quiet even if he had to. Life couldn't confine him to a chair. It soon became clear in his teens that he wasn't the success story they wanted. Instead he wanted to be whatever he wanted which was sweet but manifested itself as a fear of family rejection. He studied hard in order to follow his dreams of being a musical actor. His family wanted the best for their seven children and Jun-hi was going to make them proud.

personality: Jiae is loud and outspoken, always making sure her opinion is heard. Though she seemingly has an opinion on everything, she always makes sure that she is well informed and doesn't jump to conclusions. Every day her mother would find something else to hate about Jiae, and she moved away when she was 17 because she couldn't handle it. Her mother and father divorced and her mother remarried the next year. Her near stepfather was very nice and helped her gain confidence. However, her new stepsister always acted better than everyone else and Jiae hated her. She moved out to the apartment buildings, but sadly her sister followed. (She is a wip)

  Jungha is a wholehearted advocate for both running away from your problems and refusing to accept that there is a problem. A naturally nervous and easily stressed out person, her lack of ambition and motivation don't necessarily make her a bad person or bad with other people. On the contrary, Jungha can tolerate most people, just so long as they respect her need for peace and quiet, and can handle her endless complaining about life's injustices. She often reaches a dead-end in her thoughts, where she is unsure of what to do next, and stresses herself out over questioning the inevitable future. She has a tendency to take even the smallest of things to heart, and while she tries not to, questions even the weakest of intentions. As a student, Jungha should have a somewhat clear image of the kind of future she intends on pursuing; in reality, she's changed her major five times in the past two years, and she has very little idea of what she wants to do with her life, resulting in late weeknights with music blasting and assignments scattered around her apartment.

  Born in the coasts of Ulsan, moved to Seoul as soon as she could, kept in contact with her family until they decided she was getting a little too liberal for their tastes — Jungha is just your average family disappointment with no life plan. A middle child of four, she was constantly overlooked and pushed aside while her other siblings excelled in nearly every aspect of life. When her two older siblings went on the graduate from high school and left Ulsan to go to America for university, her parents' attentions went to her younger brother, the baby of the family that had just begun his first years of school.
  
  Perhaps the atmosphere at home was what drove Jungha two hundred miles away from her familiar city. Her need for a home, for somewhere to feel comfortable at was far too strong to go unnoticed and ignored. Two days after her graduation, she bought herself an apartment using the inheritance her grandfather had left her years before, which the complex situated near Seoul National University. Though unsure of what she plans on doing in her future, Jungha is thankful to be at a place where she is recognized, even if merely by her fellow tenants.

  Kana has come a long way from the self-absorbed heiress that had everything handed to her within a matter of seconds. Far more selfless than the average person, she dedicates herself to bettering the lives of others before she focuses on herself. Whether it's holding the door open for someone or lending her car (or buying extra groceries when she knows her fellow tenants are going to raid her kitchen). While it may seem as though Kana does not have a single bad bone in her body anymore, the truth eventually prevails. She has become too trusting of others, swearing she will never hold prejudice to anyone other than herself ever again. As optimistic as she attempts to be, when she begins to struggle with something, she will assume the worst of things and want nothing more than to cower in her bedroom or bake until she can no longer stand on her own two feet. Baking is a sweet escape for Kana, and she finds that it pushes her to dedicating herself to better things: taking care of the tenants she calls family.

  The past is a fascinating lesson, and Kana knows there is much to be learned from it. Once upon a time, she was not the selfless individual that she is today. Born from money, her parents owned a multi-million dollar company with branches that stretched throughout Japan and in Los Angeles California. An only child, she was groomed from birth to learn how to manage a company and follow in her parents' footsteps to success. Their parenting morals were blind, to the point where Kana grew up believing that anybody with less success — less money — were inferior to her and unworthy of her time.
  
  Her undying passion for dancing drove her to abandon her mother and father and leave to Seoul, South Korea, where knew of the massively successful idol market. To Kana, she had assumed the process would be simple: find an audition to a well-known idol company and become a trainee, or pay her way through. Month after month, she failed to pass her auditions and her parents grew strict over the allowance they were giving her from abroad, to the point where Kana couldn't afford the small apartment she was living in. She had never once thought otherwise of her family's income and how valuable money was until she was borderline homeless.
  
  By a stroke of luck, Kana took a waitressing position in a bakery near her complex, earning minimum wage, but enough to sustain herself for the coming winter months. She took interest in the work of the bakers at the back of the establishment, occasionally asking to be taught after work hours. Once, her passion had been dancing; now, her passion is baking. She was promoted to becoming a baker, and worked as one for two years until the bakery had closed. By then, Kana had moved into a comfortable apartment and was happier with who she was and how her life had turned out, evident in the way she worked hard to make friends with the other tenants. Though currently looking for a job as a baker, and even considering opening her own bakery, Kana is a completely new person — a mom friend, to be exact.

He can strike up a decent conversation with just about anyone, although his dry and sarcastic sense of humour doesn't go down well with everybody. He enjoys teasing his friends to get a rise out of them and likes to roughhouse. While most of his teasing is good-natured, he can easily cross the line into being insulting. In any case, he finds it entertaining to get a reaction out of people, be it positive or negative. When worst comes to worst, Ji-sung is willing to own up and apologise for his mistakes, because he really does mean well.

Ji-sung is quite the trouble magnet. He's not a person who sugarcoats his words— he says what he thinks without a filter. And of course, that comes with a fair share of snide remarks. His short temper means he's quick to throw punches, and his snarky attitude means he often receives them, too. He escalates conflicts and doesn't quite know when to stop. When he's in a particularly bad mood, Ji-sung will actively look for a fight to relieve his stress. He takes out his anger on other people because violence is all he knows.

There's not many people whom Ji-sung trusts. He hates being vulnerable, so he pushes people away when they try to get close to him. He's terrified of opening up to someone and then being abandoned. He mistreats other people so that he can feel in control and so that he doesn't have to make a commitment. Getting Ji-sung to put down his guard is very difficult. Behind his tough front, he feels insecure because he knows that he's not as intelligent nor as good-natured as his peers. He becomes hyper-competitive in the things he is good at to make up for this because he wants to prove, both to himself and to others, that he is a worthwhile person.

Despite his many flaws, Ji-sung genuinely wants to leave his bad habits behind and become a better person. He works hard in everything he does. He works hard when swimming, he works hard when studying (even if he doesn't enjoy it), and he works hard to be a good friend. He appreciates people who see him as more than just a delinquent and will faithfully defend those he cares about.

He was the only one old enough to remember the day that their mother left them. She remarried when he was 7 and disappeared from their lives. Ever since then, Ji-sung's father developed drinking problems and found it difficult to keep a job.

Ji-sung spent most of his childhood and adolescent years living on and off the streets while trying to take care of his younger siblings— but he was never one to take on responsibility. As a teenager he started to hang out with the wrong crowd. They shoplifted, vandalized buildings, and got into fights. But at the end of the day, he was always able to get himself out of serious trouble.

Ji-sung became independent as soon as he became an adult. He took out a loan to go to university, eager to escape from his broken home life. He had always been a good swimmer and hoped to join the national team someday.

In Seoul, he got a job as a waiter. He moved into a small apartment and decided to stay out of trouble, but it's not as easy as he thought it would be. Tea's parents died in an accident when he was quite young, so he never had much of a relationship with them. [background] Choi Hye-jin is the only child of Choi Hye-mi and Choi Junho. When she was born, it was the best New Year’s gift the couple could’ve received. They weren’t well off by any means and her father worked a lot at his job, being a local policeman so that they could have a comfortable lifestyle. Hye-mi ran a little stall at the nearby market, which did pretty well every Sunday. When her daughter was old enough, she soon began to help attract customers to their various foods that they were selling. Life was perfect. Hye-jin has pretty much only happy memories from her childhood and if you ask her about it, she will say that she never wants to change a thing in her childhood.

The girl quickly developed a shy and reserved personality when she was enrolled in school. She had a difficult time making friends and often would entertain herself on the swings instead of hanging out with everyone else. But she didn’t mind. Her friends were her parents, and at that age, it was okay. They were like the Three Musketeers and the neighbors soon had a soft spot for the family of three. Nothing really happened in all honesty. There weren’t any bumps in the marriage, nobody was sick, everything was okay.

In middle school, Hye-jin’s teacher told her to enroll in an art class and her talent for the subject blossomed. She soon found herself drawing endlessly, notebook after notebook, drawing whatever her mind found beautiful and intriguing. Her drawings soon turned into paintings and in her first year of high school, she won in an art show. However, her social anxiety made it difficult to accept the awards so she would skip it and collect them later. That’s how her life high school life ended up going. She dated a few people and was somewhat popular because of her good looks and grades, but besides that, it was normal. At least until graduation.

When Hye-jin graduated, she was accepted into a top art school, which was naturally a thing to celebrate. She told her parents and they were thrilled. She was able to chase her dreams of being an artist and doing what she wanted. But her mom had other plans. Since the career isn’t a stable one, Hye-mi came up with the idea of having her daughter marry a very wealthy lawyer. She brought this up to Hye-jin one day and said that she was to have an interview at a high-end restaurant with the lawyer and his parents. The artist was furious and had her first and last real fight with her mother. She argued that she was trying to decide her life for her and it wasn’t right.

It had been raining that day and when the phone call ended, her mother ended up getting into a car accident. Hye-jin got the phone call from the hospital around 35 minutes later when they informed her that her mother had passed away. It had shocked her to the core and everything was surreal from then on out. At the hospital, her father was there and was a complete mess. It was at that moment that she realized she needed to be his rock and support him. So she took on the role of someone that didn’t show their feelings and pain. While her eyes were reddened and swollen, she still wore a small smile on her lips and only sweet words of condolences whenever she spoke to people that knew her mother. She had to be strong. She was only 19 but had to be mature beyond her years. It was mentally draining and she had to take a year off of school because it was too hard to pretend for that long.

The relationship with her father became strong after the passing of Hye-mi and the pair found themselves often making time to have movie nights and just talking to each other. It was nice. But he knew his daughter was holding herself back, so he encouraged her to go to school again, which took a lot of convincing, but eventually, she went. College was a time for her to be a totally different person, live in an apartment complex by herself, date whoever she wanted, and she didn’t have the baggage of people pitying her for losing her mother. She was able to breathe a little easier.

Relationships were far and few in between but she didn’t care. She was able to paint and explore her creativity in peace. Now in her final year of school, she rarely goes to class and mainly focuses on her exhibits. She wants to live the life her mom wanted her to truly live so she strives to do so every day.

Personality

Sometimes a grandpa, sometimes a teenage boy, Liu is someone with a conflicting personality. He prefers to sit inside all day and watch his fish, but he also enjoys playing soccer and going to the park with his daycare kids. He's actually pretty intelligent, having gotten a few scholarships for this school and speaking several languages, but he also can be pretty slow. He tends to speak without thinking, making him say the weirdest and dumbest things that he know aren't true.

His temper is big, and he's often called a, "ticking time bomb" by Jason because he will not hesitate to beat you up with anything in his reach if you call him old or making fun of him for being emotionally insecure.

During school time, you probably won't ever see him. Because his family raised him to only focus on school and nothing else, it still sticks with him and he hides in his apartment for days just studying and neglecting his health.

Family and Facts

He was born in a family of 4, having one younger brother who he babied since he was young. The brothers are close and you'll often find Liu on the phone with him.

He has two 20 gal tanks with many different fish and even a little frog.

  her wildest year as an 18 year old. partied, drank, willingly jumped into a canal, smoked marijuana as well as plenty of failed online dates turned into one night stands.
  
  she chose to study in korea as a way to restrain herself from a crazy lifestyle. she's also sticking to a big decision leading up to adulthood, missing her grandmother dearly and reconnecting with the culture she feels guilty for abandoning. eunmi plans to visit multiple countrysides to absorb nature and the history.
