The Purple Soul
You wake up.
It's dark. Darker than it should be in a bathroom this size. Darker than it should be in any room at this time of day.
You unfurl yourself, and let your shoes hit the tiled floor of the far Superstar Daycare bathroom. Opening the brightly colored door, your suspicions are confirmed: many of the overhead LED lights have gone out. Only the neon highlights along the walls and decorations inside the bathroom remain. The visage of the Daycare Attendant's Sun form looks down at you from a mural next to the door.
The faint sound of the Superstar Daycare music plays through the door, but it's off. You can hear it clearly. You shouldn't be able to. The screams of kids like you having fun, playing with eachother, crying because Mr. Sun couldn't come out to play, or flinging food and toys everywhere. It's all gone.
You're not sure where you are.
You were in the ball pit, swimming around in the colorful spheres, when you went behind a playset and found an odd door. It was really industrial, yet surprisingly clean. You got close to it, and with the noises of hydraulics pressing and releasing, it opened automatically. Stepping over the Employee Only sign, you entered the room.
The door had quickly closed behind you. Since then, you were trapped in this odd, open room filled with crates and dusty props. Two large garage-like doors were at the back, and touching them, you could feel the chill of the autumn wind from outside, yet you could not find a way to open them.
All you have are some of the old props, and the faint noise of the Superstar Daycare music.
You've had enough.
You're nine years old. Practically an adult. And if your parents want to be drunk off their minds like other nights, you won't stop them as long as explosives aren't involved. You left your home and ran away. Maybe it was permanent, maybe it wasn't. But either way, you've found yourself here.
Passing by the Mega Melody Pizzaplex, the evening sun glancing off of the tiles, a place you had been unable to go since its opening. Looking both ways, you crossed the street, and circled around back, where all of the back entrances were. Sneaking past a few of the workers, you nearly made it to one of the backstages, but some trucks began to pull around the back. In a split-second decision, you rolled under a closing shutter door, and found yourself in some backroom full of props and old crates. It was very large, but you've spent most your time trying to get back outside.
Currently, you're still trapped in that large open room. You thought you heard someone enter earlier, so you've been wary of any other employees. All that remained to comfort you as the light dimmed to night-mode was the looping track within the Superstar Daycare.
