In this world, high school is everything. Whoever you were in Middle School doesn’t matter. As a Freshman, you’re a nobody, and your life starts anew. You may have come to this school with your friends, as a loner, or a transfer. Whatever your reasons are, they’re the same as everyone else’s. You must survive.
In High School Showdown, this doesn’t take place in a normal world with normal people. No; everything revolves around high school and this insane desire to be the best in whatever club or sport you’re involved in. If you’re not the best, then you are a loser—even lower than a loser, you could fail out and become a jobless bum on the streets. Life isn’t fair and your parents know this. That is why they were the best and they’re trying to make you into the best so that you can succeed in this dog-eat-dog world.
It you versus the world, but you don’t have to fight alone. There are some who may have similar goals to your own. You all want to succeed, so why not succeed together?
Somerset High School
Somerset High School, home of the Sentinels. Somerset High School is one of five other high school rivals in the district. Those high schools are: 1) Oak Grove, 2) Woodside, 3) Springfield, and 4) Granite Bay. All students at Somerset wear a uniform. The boys were a black jacket with yellow trim and black trousers, and the girls wear a black jacket with yellow trim, with a black skirt, and black shin-high stockings. Both boys and girls have a tie that is yellow against their olive-gold dress shirts. Against their right breast pocket is the school coat of arms: a knights helm over a kite shield with crossing swords before it.
Students
The students in the High School Showdown world are supernatural. While they appear to look like average boys and girls, each student possesses a unique martial art that makes their prowess inhuman. Students only use these powers in sports and other competitions, or when fighting against each other. These powers have led the students to form gangs. Each gang has a different motivation for its existence. Some gangs aren’t so easy to join. They have some ridiculous or dangerous rite of passage that only those really desperate and lonely would go through.
Our story centers around a gang that unlike the other high school gangs formed in Middle School—Edgewood Middle School to be exact. The leader of the gang is Oyama Shuji (LN, FN). Back in middle school when hormones were raging at the onset of puberty, Shuji dominated Edgewood. He was a ruthless gang leader who destroyed any gangs that attempted to overtake his own, and he and his gang defeated the gangs of rivaling middle schools. Upon graduating the eighth grade, Shuji disappeared over the summer. As soon as high school started, Shuji reemerged at Somerset High School and is no longer the kid his old group remembers. No longer violent. He has been pacified. If asked what happened, Shuji simply says he “grew out of it.” With the upperclassmen and school bullies praying on the fresh meat in school, is now really the time for Shuji to mature? Regardless, Shuji’s old gang keeps him as the leader even when he doesn’t involve himself in the fights.
Your character is part of Shuji’s gang, and if they don’t start off as part of his gang, then they will join eventually. It looks like a gang that may dominate the others and ensure your character’s success in life, so your character shouldn’t have any reason to avoid joining. There isn’t a rite of passage, but that depends on the other players. They could create one. There are many ways you can approach this game: 1) you are a transfer student from another country (assume this world takes place in a Japanese-U.S. hybrid of a high school); 2) you are a freshman in H.S. who didn’t go to the same school as the gang; or 3) you are one of the original members of Shuji’s gang in Middle School and have come to Somerset to keep the gang alive and to dominate the school. Players can expect elements of PvE and PvP.
PvE: Players vs the rival NPC gangs, bullies, and gangs of other schools.
PvP: Players who initiate a friendly, planned spar with other players.

- Enjoy over-the-top near god-like battles that shouldn’t be logically possible but they are because this game is a spoof of those type of animes
- Enjoy anime
- Willing to write, plot, and grow with others
- Drama queens will be denied
- This game isn’t for everyone. You either get it or you don’t. If you don’t, move along.
This game is as mentioned in the title, high school themed and so there may be some slice of life moments such as dating, triangle relationships, homo/bi-sexuality, bad parents, friends dealing with stress/drama, bullying, emo, goth, etc. Expect these themes along with the BADAZZ-inspired combat and shenanigans. This is just recruitment. More details about the school will follow in the IC such as a list of clubs and the student council. If you have any ideas for clubs that you would like to see in the RP, then please voice them. I also want to know who all would like a discord server or just a PM group.

[b]Written Appearance:[/b] In this you describe your character's overall appearance to include extra details not seen in the picture you are using. Scars, tattoos, piercings, headbands and other accessories, etc.
[b]Personality:[/b] Summarize how they are like.
[b]Current Story:[/b] What has happened so far in their life and what are they doing now? If you are going with the foreign transfer student, where did they come from? They would be coming to the United States. If you are going with the student who went to the same middle school as Shuji, then feel free to plot with the GM or approach me with a believable story. If you are 100% fresh with no back story with the other gangs, then explain that. Describe their gang life in middle school.
[b]Weapon(s):[/b] (Optional) Do they normally use a weapon in their martial arts? Warning: If your character is walking around with an assault rifle or bazooka as a weapon, this may not go well with the police so please be smart. Weapons I am expecting to see are: yo-yos, baseball bats, bamboo swords or bokken, whatever crazy weapon that isn't a weapon but is. No weapon is fine too if you're a hand-to-hand fighter.
[b]Aura:[/b] What color is your character's Fighting Spirit? The energy they radiate that isn't seen by the average human (non-martial artist).
[b]Power:[/b] You only get one power. Not multiple powers in one. Just one power.
[b]Fighting Style:[/b] Summarize how your character fights. Your character's fighting style should go along the lines of their power's theme.
[b]Techniques[/b]
You are allowed up to five techniques. These are fighting sequences of movement, energy attacks, whatever "bad azz" move you want to give your fighter. Try not to go too out of your character's theme, otherwise, it may look weird and I'll ask you to change it.Links
