Sleepy in perpetuity
- Hiya! So, recently I've found myself craving some roleplays, and what better way to find the right partner than to post up an interest check. Now, without further ado...
- I go by Dream (why yes, I did think the thread title was funny)
- They/them.
- 23 years old.
- In the GMT+2 time zone (gay and European )
- Been roleplaying on and off for about 8 years.
- How often I post changes depending on availability, but generally I am able to put out 1+ replies a week.
- I don't really mind where I write, be it a thread, PMs, or Discord.
- Would consider myself a literate to advanced literate writer, I primarily mirror my partner's post length. Regardless, quality always comes before quantity and I believe more dynamic scenes can call for shorter replies. Still, absolutely no one-liners.
- English is not my first language, so expect the occasional mistakes. I do always try to proof-read and edit my writing to the best of my ability.
- Okay with both platonic and romantic character relationships. Romance is not a prerequisite. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't. No point forcing it.
- I'm fine with doubling up, if my partner really wants to. Can't say I have any experience with it, though.
- I play any gender character, but a lot of the OCs I have in mind, specifically those for the listed plots, are male or non-binary.
- I don't mind what gender character my partner chooses to play.
- I am LGBTQ and my characters tend to be as well, in various ways.
- What I am looking for:
- A long-term roleplay partner.
- 18+, or if you're 21+ that's even better. It's a comfort thing for a 1x1 roleplay, really.
- Willingness to chat OOC - I'm kind of socially awkward, but I do enjoy getting to know my fellow roleplayers.
- Someone that matches my writing style and has a good grasp on grammar.
- Someone that writes in past tense 3rd person, though I am not completely opposed to trying out 1st person.
- I don't mind how often my partner is able to post, but at least once a week is preferred.
What I am not looking for:
- Absolutely not interested in roleplaying with anyone that is racist, homophobic, transphobic, etc.
- Someone prone to ghosting. I totally understand life happens, but would appreciate a quick message if you're no longer interested or need to go on a hiatus.
- Here are some plots I want to try out. Keep in mind I am not against hearing others' ideas or potentially coming up with one together. As a matter of fact, collaboration is something I value highly, so would appreciate for any prospective roleplay partners being willing to plot with me in order to bring our story to life.
Genres: Crime, Action, Thriller, Detective, Urban, Modern
I would be taking on the role of Muse A for this one, seeing as I already have a character prepped with, like, a pinterest board and everything, lol.
Muse A, a young and ambitious police officer and his partner begin investigating what on the surface appears to be a pretty clear-cut case, only to stumble upon a rabbit hole of increasingly severe crimes sprinkled with corruption on various institutional levels. Before they can do anything about their findings, the partner is murdered, with Muse A being framed for the death. Now, years later, he gets released from of prison, determined to get revenge. However, the city has changed beyond recognition, and Muse A reluctantly reaches out to Muse B - a criminal he has come to blows with in the past. Yesterday's enemy can be today's ally. After all, Muse A is desperately in need of someone with connections in the underworld, a service Muse B can provide.
Genres: Superhero, Action, Urban, Modern
I would be okay with playing either Muse A or Muse B, since I have character ideas for both.
In a world where superheroes exist, but have become incredibly commercialized to the point of being treated like celebrities more than anything else, Muse A is a vigilante operating outside the law or the vanity of fame. While most view them as nothing more than a criminal, a select few see them as one of the last real heroes truly in service of the people. This includes Muse B, a journalist with strong morals set on holding superheroes accountable, lest they abuse their social status, which is unfortunately common nowadays. Muse B becomes fascinated with Muse A after seeing them in action, determined to write about their heroics in the hopes of inspiring a whole new generation of superheroes.
Genres: Horror, Mystery, Romance, Gothic, Fantasy (potentially)
Yeah, this kind of has romance built into it. Down to play either role, though I do have a character in mind for Muse B, especially if the story is in a fantasy setting akin to DnD.
Muse A is a misunderstood genius, a scientist ahead of their time researching the tentative boundary between life and death - reanimation, immortality, the essence of the soul. Unfortunately, their unorthodox interests have led to them being shunned by the rest of the scientific community and society at large, labeled a deviant and a heathen. The only person that seems to understand them is Muse B, their loyal assistant, who is fully devoted to Muse A and their work. But can Muse B maintain this devotion as Muse A's experiments become progressively more dangerous and twisted?
Aside from the plots, here are some vague ideas/pairings I'd be keen to expand on (the list is a little barren currently, but I'll probably keep adding to it in the future):
- A small town in the middle of nowhere with strange things happening constantly.
- Vampire x Vampire Hunter
- Ghost x Human
- Werewolves
- Something supernatural with a western vibe, maybe a Priest x Demon.
- A boarding school with something sinister lurking under the surface.
- Assassin x Target
- Royalty x Guard
- Monarch x Revolutionary
Thanks for taking the time to read through this. If you're interested, please PM me and tell me a bit about yourself!
