Rick nodded to Palabra in a businesslike manner "Hello Palabra, good to see you out and about" He nodded again and continued on.

"Of course I can!" The voice exclaimed. "I'm quite a capable being, you know." Maggie tilted her head. "Who are you?"

The jovial voice laughed. "Who I am isn't important at the moment, although you might say otherwise. What matters is that I am your friend, and friends are important to have, aren't they Maggie?"
Maggie gave a slow nod. "I guess, in a place like this."

"Good!" the voice replied. "And friends, they help each other. They listen to each other. If we cooperate, and help each other, we can get out of this place! Sounds good, right?"
Maggie smiled, and said, "Yes. I just want to get away from all these doctors, frankly."

Maggie paused, then asked, "But how can we both break out? This facility is pretty big."

"Nothing to fear!" The voice assured her. "As luck would have it, my cell is rather close!"

The doctor nervously tapped on the table. "Ahem, Maggie, was it? It's time for your evaluation"

She looked at him, then quickly withdrew her tendrils from the ground. "Oh, hello. Sorry, I was spacing out."

She sat in the chair, and asked, "So, a therapy session, then? I mean, you've seen my record."

She carefully touched one tendril to the ground, and continued listening.
