I haven't decided yet to go with two extra knacks or birthright. But if I went went a birthright, what would you like us to keep in mind? For example, if I wanted a relic of some sort.

A few things:

1. If you want a Relic, think about it's creator, and who gave it to you, and what it looks like.
2. Remember that even if a Relic grants access to a Purview, you can't use it yet. Once you become a Scion, you'll be able to use it, but also remember that there will be one Purview that you will be able to use without a Relic, so think which Purview you'll want to be the basic power of your character.
3. All Birthrights are gifts from the gods. They might not appear divine until your Visitation. For example, a Guide that is an oracle, could appear to be just a simple card-reader or palm-reader that you sometimes go to.
4. Sometimes, the gift isn't from your own god, or it might even be from another pantheon. Whether to try and sway you, or to have a hold on you, or because that particular god has an alliance with you god, or wants to spite them.

If we are talking about a personal purview. I'm thinking Epic Dexterity would be a lot of fun for a hunter. To be able to give chase and do impossible shots. That or Wild.

As for relics. I think a good rifle would be in order for a proper hunter, like the legendary bows of heros of old. Of which come to mind would the golden bow made by Apollo from the rays of the sun, the silver bow of Artemis, the bow claimed from Orion when Artemis felled him, or the bow of Hercules whose arrows were dipped in the poison of the hydra. All of which could be modernized into an equivalent rifle.

I dont think Artemis would give him her weapon.

Apollo was the god of archercy, so making such a weapon would be in his wheelhouse, and could come with the purview of Sun or Fire. Weapons modernized from Orion or Hercules would also do well. A weapon made by Apollo might be the most reasonable bet. A gift perhaps from an uncle who recognized his talents.

Alternatively, perhaps Skadi has already tracked down her son. Unable to retrieve him due to Artemis, she instead left a gift for him to find, to start the path of bringing him back to her. Believing the that goddess of women would not bestow a man any such Birthright.

Alternatively to the alternative! Another idea could be a creature of mythology as a companion. A hunting bird to aid in his endeavors. A pheonix, perhaps. Of which he can not yet see its true nature but a beloved companion to him nonetheless.

Ok I'm kinda nervous because beyond a few gods, I'm thinking of I have no idea where to start

I dont know this system all that well. I'm most winging it like I do every other time I play. Been reading up on char creation so have mostly got a handle on it, At least.

I'm happy to help you any way I can, if you would like! Always happy to talk about ideas and brainstorming and stuff like that!

Ok well currently I'm thinking parent wise that my girl is the Scion of either Hades, Persephone, Kali or The Morrigan and is a travelling stage magician with all the classics, like sawing people in half, playing with fire, disappearing, the whole nine yards

Before you decide on a parent, look at your concept, and choose the skills and attributes that support it. Once you know what Paths (besides the Pantheon Path), and Calling, are the ones you start with, looks for a Pantheon and a specific god that enhances that, and that you'll want to have some of their powers.

*chefs kiss* I love some classic magicians! And all the tried and true tricks! Please pull a rabbit from a hat. I would love you forever.

That sort of concept could make a pretty cool character as they grow in power and legend. They definitely sound like a candidate to become a Grade-A trickster.

Going to be going at things with pomp and flair?

Yep got it i understand

Not necessarily a rabbit but I definetly could at least try something. Also yes definite pomp and flair

Lovely! I'm excited to see what you are going to come with. Will be pretty cool.

I am making a scion born to Skadi but stolen by Artemis and raised by her to spite the frost giantess. A pretty chill and composed young man, friendly and protective, with a great talent for the hunt and a love of fishing and nature in general. An unassuming predator who takes to his prey with calm determination.

If you don't have a rabbit, he can probably get you a rabbit.

Oooh that's cool! Honestly for me the struggle is whether her calling should be trickster or liminal

Hmm. That is a tough one. Cause both of those could fit a magician very very well.

Maybe narrowing down her personality would help you decide? About how she would approach things.

So thinking that as a kid she was a street rat that learnt magic tricks and cheats so that she could survive, although she never wanted to cheat people but to just make people amazed and feel good after seeing them. Which would prolly give her Sleight of Hand, Deception and Persuade Individuals or Persuade Groups if I did it correctly

Liminal knacks, heroic and immortal, could do really well if you focus more on doing cool magical things. Trickster, heroic and immortal, would be really useful if you took advantage of your charisma.

I'm not sure if its possible, but I think at some point we can get multiple callings. So you could have liminal and trickster knacks.

Gods I feel stupid for not understanding how to apply the skills and attributes

I can help!

For attributes, I found it easiest to start with Approach.

Force - might, presence, Intellect
Finesse - Dexterity, Manipulation, cunning
Resilience- stamina, resolve. Composure.

Choose the approach and add 2 dots to each of the associated attributes.

Then!

You choose between physical, mental and social. Decide which one you want as your primary (add 6 dots), pick another as your secondary (add 4 dots), then your Tertiary (add 2 dots)

Skills is a bit different. These rely on your paths. Amd you get three paths.

Origin (how your character grew up)
Role (how they are now)
Pantheon (who they are born from)

Each path has skills associated to it.

So you decide which path best embodies who your char is.

I had an origin of "Survivalist"
A role of "Combat Specialist"
And pantheon of "Theoi"

I made Survivalist my primary, as I felt that fit him best. I add 3 dots to each of its associated skills.

Combat Specialist was my secondary, as he is a hunter. I add 2 dots to each skill there.

I made Pantheon my tertiary. As he doesn't really know or care much about that sort of thing. I add 1 dot to each pantheon skill (which I think is normally two skills)

And! In any skill you get 3 or more dots, you add a Specialty. These give you a +1 die to any roll when you use a skill involving that specialty. (For example, a 4 in firearms, and you have a pistol Specialty)

Yep I'm using the character sheet that was sent as a reference and to put down the stats. So for the Origin, which is secondary, I gave her Subtefuge, Persuasion and Close combat the last one because she often had to fight others to keep the money she earned.

For the role I gave her Subtefuge which I made Primary, Leadership and Integrity, integrity to hide her emotions and leadership so she can persuade audiences.

Finally with Pantheon, which is tertiary, I had to give her a point of culture and Close combat with an additional point of persuasion

When you choose your Pantheon, each pantheon has only two skills marked, but you can choose a third skill of your choice.
Yep I know the two marked where culture and Close combat for the Irish pantheon and I chose to put the extra point into persuasiom
