I think waiting to see what QuickSmasherEXE QuickSmasherEXE want to do with his concept after my suggestion.
I was just about to respond to that; what timing!

QuickSmasherEXE QuickSmasherEXE If you are very new to exalted making an exigent from scratch can be complex to be honest. I can help, but will just say it gets easier with some system mastery, as you understand more what you want etc... Janest the strawmaiden (Which again as a reminder she has no canonical personality, appearance, beliefs, gender, sexuality, and the like, nor does she have a defined relationship with Ten Sheaves, the High Reavers, or Kolisz as a whole.) has stuff like introducing facts about plants/herbs etc...with survival to make various kinds of medicine/potions to heal people and would only take you like 3 charms to do that, and you can build the rest however you want. Granted, Janest is a little more direct and confrontational in her charms, but it is based on protecting communities. Plus, Janest is very beginner-friendly too.
I appreciate the suggestion and see how some of those charms would fit the idea I had. However, I don't think Janest is that much of a blank slate and I'm not that interested in a lot of what's there. I wasn't going for an Exigent because I specifically wanted to play an Exigent, but because I thought it would work well for my original concept of a grumpy and inglorious medic.

I would prefer to a) try to make the original idea work*, b) possibly re-tool Bashir as a Solar exalt, or c) go with the Lunar Exalt dart frog instead, should that sound like a simpler concept.

* - I acknowledge this probably would take a lot of work and I don't want to hold everyone else up, but I'd be fine joining the party later as well.

In my opinion, a Solar would make for a better healer since their Medicine Charms are excellent for that kind of thing. As far as a Lunar goes, I am not a familiar with their Medicine Charms to know how well that concept will go for you.

-Making the Solar would be easier for the doctor, as Solar can pretty much fit any story, as Sherwood Sherwood mentioned above.
-Lunar Dart Frog could be done, but I wouldn't call it easier than the solar concept, between the shapeshifting and archetype + mutations, there are stuff to take into account.
-If you had Sidereal, Chosen of Ending Doctor could actually be a lot of fun. Also, sidereal have quirky and weird going on with their charms like using craft to heal which could work well with making "potions". Sidereal are easy to play and are abilities based too.

Wait we need actual lunar representation so I’m making a changing moon or no moon
Lunar Exalts are awesome. I just wanted to play a new kind of Exalt this time around or I might have gone in that direction.

I am thinking I might try to find a cheaper suit of armor than the one I currently have. I want to get a few of those Bonus Points back for other goodies. I just need to wait until I get home to get back on my computer with my files on it.

There are plenty of premade artifact armors out there, or you could just make your own.
Either way is fine. The thing is, you don't need to come up with everything at character creation for custom artifact on the evocation part.

The one armor I currently have is really cool, but for five dots it’s just a bit pricy.

Technically, heart blood merit doesn't give any prominent figure, just animals...unless you mean Stolen faces merit? The Stolen faces merit is either many human shapes of no particular social standing or one per dot for a shape with a figure that has either a social, economic or political status as valuable asset.

A guild factor, a dehlzan clan elder (Matriarch), A dynast (as usual, Dynasts visiting satrapy is not unusual), Lion-Priest of Origin, A member of Cadet House Simendor (A bit risky, but they do have some weight around), there are the usual stuff like Scavenger Lords etc...

It doesn't affect character creation but should make for a smoother experience in gameplay, updated in the first post:

Crucible of Legends Menu:
Even Easier Stunts (p. 70)
One-Roll Resolution (p. 72)
Optional Death (p. 73)
Naval Combat Adjustments (p. 73-74)
Gambit Adjustments (p. 74)
Teamwork (p. 90-91)
Project Rules (p. 92-96)
Travel and Journeys (p. 97-100)

Any of these changes will be addressed during gameplay.

I know Ebon and QuickmasherExe are not ready yet but figured might as well get started main thread is up. We will go a bit slow at the beginning to make sure the circle is ready, beyond that, lets get started:

They are mostly just influential locally (here on the grasslands), I mean you could roll to know more about the Nomadic Dehlzhan clans but it something most people in the south know (Difficulty 1) pretty much.

Is there another clan that would like to see these two families at each other’s throats? One that might be behind this?

A quick clarification: are we all an established Circle and know one another already or is it just a few of us knowing another?

This part, you would have to investigate. There are many clans in the Dehlzhan. Mostly the biggest different, you have the nomadic dehlzhan and the urban ones (that live in Chiaroscuro).

Established, but you can do some backstory flashback or talk more about history during gameplay.
