Definitely a classic Dawn, a more elegant and dextrous swordsman. I'm split between pure melee and maybe trying out Single Point Shining Into The Void.
I’ma fan of that martial arts style. It can get really expensive on the Essence motes as you fight, but it is definitely a winner in my book. If you want to go with the MA style, you’ll want to make Brawl/Martial Arts your Supernal ability to be able to get the higher Essence Charms starting out.

I ahve Exalted 3, Dragonblooded, and Miracles of the Solar Exalted. need to make a char tho, and i'm not too familair with the combat rules for this edition
I have a really good PDF cheat sheet for combat on my computer at home that I can share with you if you’d like.

actually.... hold on, I have an old starting sheet from a campaign that never got off the ground. Would this work?

also, Psychie Psychie - how did you get so many evocations on your equipment? I thought you had to buy all of those with xp in-game and that at start you only have 1 evocation?

and where you got those equipment stats from, since from my understanding we'd have to ask the GM/ Sherwood Sherwood for those stats since those are custom artifacts

would also need to re-hash what my equipment looks like under the same logic

If you look at the Panoply tab, there is a note of **Indicates Evocations not paid for yet ** so it only shows what Evocations are available in the future but are not purchased yet.

... That's on me, I'm blind as a bat

The artifacts that I have are both in official books: Unison is in Arms of the Chosen and Destiny is in the Masterwork Items book. Both are available from drivethrurpg.com

AH. Yes. That explains it XD

I'll sit down and grind out what my sheet actually is tomorrow evening, expect it then

A good amount of artifacts start with a free evocation and could be conditional too but anyway for character creation:

You want to be able to participate in most scenes, it doesn't necessarily mean that you are the best at an aspect of the game, but if your character can do Combat, Social and maybe something else. You will contribute in one or another.

It is done with charms, for all purposes charms are your powers, feats, class features etc... if familiar with other types of game.

You can choose to specialize more into one of the aspect, such as Combat or Social, but usually would be at the cost of everything else.

Supernal/Apocalyptic and whatever Infernal version will be called, tho, offer a unique opportunity to go for a relatively stronger charm from the beginning, usually found in Essence 3+ charms. Essence 3+ charm are usually good ways to do something you really wanted your character to do from the get-go. The only limit of Supernal, most come from your caste abilities, so can't choose favored abilities and make them a supernal, so the choice of your caste is important here. Even from my understanding, you mostly want to be a Dawn swordsman.

that is indeed why i'm going Supernal Martial Arts and going full crazy Single Point

I think I've got the basic idea down that I want to do, so I'm just going through the rules to figure out how to do that.

"You're lucky I'm a healer. If I weren't trying to keep you alive, I'd crack your skull open like an egg."

Our man, Bashir, is a Delzhan nomad and veteran combat medic, now retired as an apothecary. His wartime experience left him with an immense distaste for war, so he's keenly interested in preventing the current conflict of escalating. He's gruff, resentful, and lacking in social graces (or interest in them).

Some abilities that I think would fit him are medicine, survival, and war (per his veterancy). I'd like to make potions and do medic stuff.

Instead of a Solar Exalted, I was thinking of making him an Exigent. He came across a mortally wounded Ersatz Arab Hermes, who gave him his exaltation in his final moments. As Hermes is mystic, medic, and messenger alike, this idea would lend to Bashir doing a lot more deft dodging than direct combat.

Based on the messenger idea, I thought it might be fun if Bashir was also intrusted with an indesctructible package that can only be opened by its intended recipient. His patron died before telling him who that was, and I have no designs for who it is either. That could be whatever Mr. Protege wants. I just thought a small box you can't open would make for a fun artifact.

The alternate (should the above be unworkable or more trouble than its worth) is just a poison dart frog.

ah yes, the One Old Dude in this party of attractive young adults

Some things, let see, I would mention for ThatWhichShouldBe ThatWhichShouldBe

-I can't exactly tell the 5 favored abilities looking at the sheet.
-Tertiary attribute is 4 dots (you mention 5 dots but can't tell if you spent bonus points to get +1 dot)
-The calculations page seem a little too busy, from what I read and understand, you spend your 15 BP on abilities above 3 or am I incorrect?

-While there were still some few solar exaltations around popping up from time to time, it was definitely way less than 50, at most like 5 to 6 of them. In general, there were very few and not really a main concern for the Realm, combined with UCS barely choosing anybody.

QuickSmasherEXE QuickSmasherEXE If you are very new to exalted making an exigent from scratch can be complex to be honest. I can help, but will just say it gets easier with some system mastery, as you understand more what you want etc... Janest the strawmaiden (Which again as a reminder she has no canonical personality, appearance, beliefs, gender, sexuality, and the like, nor does she have a defined relationship with Ten Sheaves, the High Reavers, or Kolisz as a whole.) has stuff like introducing facts about plants/herbs etc...with survival to make various kinds of medicine/potions to heal people and would only take you like 3 charms to do that, and you can build the rest however you want. Granted, Janest is a little more direct and confrontational in her charms, but it is based on protecting communities. Plus, Janest is very beginner-friendly too.

1. Five favored are Integrity, Performance, Presence, Survival, War
2. I spent bonus points for the +1 dot, yes. I also spent some of the BP on extra merit dots for the artifacts, but mostly on additional abilities above 3.
3. See above.

To clarify, there were 50 exaltation sparks around, but only 5-6 were actually 'active Solars' at a time, from my understanding?

After the Usurpation, when the Terrestrial Exalted killed their Solar masters, the Sidereals captured the Essences of the majority of dead Solars and stored them in the Jade Prison, which removed those Essences from the cycle of reincarnation. The Jade Prison was sealed shortly after the Usurpation, then sunk into the deepest sea. The vast majority (approximately 300) of Solar Essences were shut in the prison, the remainder (about 50) consisting of those Solars who had not yet been killed at the time of sealing. The remaining Essences could still reincarnate, and were the Solars that were subsequently tracked by the Sidereals and killed by the Wyld Hunt over the next several centuries.

I remember reading this, might not actually be correct/old lore though

There are now 150 Solar shards. There used to be 300, but half were stolen and corrupted into the Abyssal and Infernal exalts.

On a side note, are you sure you want an Intelligence of just 1? It is a bit below average.

.... Oh god I did my math wrong.

Uh, one moment while I edit to fix my stats. Anyway, my exaltation was one of those that didn't get sealed during the Usurpation, i'll edit it so it's more vague since I'm... genuinely unsure how many exaltations that is, now.

Just a sidenote, that technically, your character can't read (need at least 1 dot in Linguistic to be able to read).

If intentional, sure, no issues, but I think you mention reading books in your background.

Beyond that, I think we are just waiting on a few sheets.

He is a peasant, so no, he cannot read XD
probably an early ability dot for him to pick up
