hello dears! welcome to my search thread.​

i'm looking for a new partier or two that i can write with. i'd like us to come up with a story that intrigues us both; i've got some prompts here that i've been thinking about, and i've marked some of the ones i'm craving rn. i'd love to find partners who thrive on creativity and aren't afraid of positing their own ideas.

  ‣ a modern-day, potions-on-the-kitchen-sink, dried-herbs-dangling-from-every-surface, yes-it's-a-mess-but-i-know-where-everything-is witch puts out an ad looking for a roommate. a straight-a, methodical, slightly "please let me organize your life" spellcaster answers it. chaos ensues when the spellcaster, who's been working on decoding an ancient prophecy for extra credit, realizes their new permanently-disheveled roommate is the Chosen One. (modern fantasy i'm weak) (KINDA WANT THIS ONE NGL) (so maybe i dug this thread back up just because i want this one but let me live in denial ok)
  
  ‣ the new emperor has decided, after centuries of supernatural oppression, to forge new relationships with surrounding kingdoms of strange creatures. first on their list is the misty, rocky shoreside kingdom of selkies; befriending them would allow new, profitable trade routes. turns out the selkie chieftain is, ah, incredibly attractive and so unlike anyone they've ever met. mysterious, sensuous, closed-off, but the emperor leaps at the challenge. could something more than political partnership be created? (i'd prefer to do the selkie role cause i've got concepts in mind but i can be convinced otherwise!)
  
  ‣ figure skater with big aspirations isn't as perfect as they think. their coach refers them to a local ballet school so that they can develop their technical and expressive skills. turns out their new teacher used to be just like them; big dreams, promising talent, but an injury a year or two ago put them out of the game. their love of ballet keeps them on the dance scene, but they're frustrated on meeting the figure skater, who is ungrateful and just wants these training sessions to be over already. drama + enemies-to-lovers romance ensues
  
  ▹alternate: figure skater takes the same metro to and from training every day. unbeknownst to them, one of their fellow passengers, who takes the same metro at the same time every day, has a desperate crush on them and hasn't worked up the courage to talk to them until one day they look particularly defeated. turns out the figure skater is starting to lose their artistic drive. can the stranger-in-love help them rekindle that flame of inspiration? and maybe something more? (ehhhh could be convinced for this one but it gotta be convincing)​
  
  ‣ an exotic dancer has been captured from a faraway land and brought to the palace for entertainment. crown prince(ss) is enraptured by their passionate beauty, and in no time it seems as though the enslaved dancer has them wrapped around their little finger. seems like just another slightly scandalous affair, but does this entertainer have other motives?
  
  ‣ a young prophet has traveled to a sacred spring/grotto to commune with their god/goddess, but they spend all night standing in the cold water and hear nothing. they wake up curled beneath a blanket, beside the smoldering remains of a campfire. a confused traveler found them passed out in the pool and couldn't leave them alone. despairing because their god isn't speaking to them, yet completely smitten with the confused traveler, the young prophet begs them to let them stick around just a little longer.
  
  ‣ dishes flying off the shelf? doors slamming shut? you said you heard a voice whispering in your ear? ooooh shit didn't i tell u i'm haunted? yeah lmao. least i dont have to be alone when i have one of those 3 am oreo binge mental breakdowns am i right (ngl kinda want this one too)
  
  ‣ a completely normal person suddenly begins growing wings from their shoulderblades. fledging is a painful process; it feels like puberty all over again (wasn't once enough?????). once it's all over, the curiosity is overwhelming, and they have to try flying. it's midnight in the big city; flourescent lights cascade over their feathers like stained glass in a chapel. they prime themselves to leap off the skyscraper—this is the most exciting moment in their life—when suddenly they hear a voice shouting at them. "don't jump! you have so much to live for!" they turn around, confusion meeting confusion. "i'm not suicidal???" "wait are those wings?"
  
  ‣ a jedi padawan has failed to pass the trials five times now. they're finally assigned to the jedi service corps, much to their despair. their dream has been to become a jedi knight, and now they're stuck learning lame medical training. a new jedi knight, fresh from the front lines of the clone war, comes to the jedi temple, physically and mentally scarred. can they help each other?
  
  ‣ you either have magic or you don't. if you're a vessel, you've got it all inside you, but you can't use it. what you need is a weaver, a person who has the ability to reach inside you and use this magic. well i can tell that you've got a shit ton of magic, can't believe the national magic authorities haven't found you yet! well hey i'm just about the best damn weaver that exists, kind of in the middle of a top-secret mission and my vessel kind of dumped me because i was "egotistic" and "dictatorial," do you wanna team up?? adventure of a lifetime over here??? (kinda craving rn)
  
  ‣ yes i'm the most powerful mage in this city, yes everyone either wants to fuck me or be me, hey wait what's that birthmark on your shoulder? don't tell me you don't know what that means??? please come with me, i think you're the chosen one or maybe you're just extraordinarily cute ummm well the prophecy i've been working on decoding says something about a real cutie (damn idk but this could be hilarious)

  ‣ being a superhero seems like fun, and it is, at least at first. but all those beatdowns really take a toll on you, first physically, then psychologically. it seems every time they turn a street corner, their heart races as they expect to see some new villain bearing down on them. they're more afraid than ever—not of villains, but of the thought that they might not be able to save everyone next time.
  ▹option one: forcibly retired after a particularly nasty fight, they find that blending in is way harder than standing out. trauma makes it almost impossible for them to leave their apartment. their neighbor (actually a government agent assigned to keep an eye on them) gets a little too invested and oops now this former superhero has separation anxiety???
  ▹option two: hi i have authority issues but the superhero agency isn't letting me go solo until i've had some sidekick experience, so step aside old man, i can handle this—oops i kind of got myself captured/injured/let the villain get away with his evil plan
  
  ‣ yes they're my arch nemesis and yes they have no sense of morality but they're really hot and sometimes we make out in secret
  
  ‣ they're the strongest, most adept warrior of the kingdom. they've gotten parades and medals and money—everyone either wants to fuck them or be them. nothing scares them. after a particularly nasty battle, the warrior is forced to hire an at-home medic to care for their wounds, although they insist that they could heal just fine on their own. after specifically being told not to disturb them at night, the medic pokes their head into the warrior's private chambers to find them completely consumed in tears—screaming, crying, wracked by flashbacks and crumbling under the pressure of perfection. can they heal more than the outside?
  
  ‣ okay yes i know they're probably some kind of mobster/weapons dealer but damn every time they come into my bar they look at me and i swear i melt maybe we made out in the corner once and hypothetically if i were to get news that another gang was planning on jumping them in the alley outside, i might give them a warning
