Samuel Coy

CoolGuy

Half decent.
Name:

Samuel Coy

Age:

22

Gender:

Male

Kin:

Two parents he's not very close with, to say the least.

Status:

Insane

Time served:

Two months

Handicap:

Poor vision, incredible paranoia

Personality:

In a word, Sam is fearful.  Not in the sense of fearing the dark, but in fearing people.  He socialized moderately well, but in the back of his mind, he felt like trembling whenever he spoke.  Before sympathizing with him too much, he's also extremely hateful and judgemental.  He hates himself, but more than that, he hates everyone else.  He's excellent at picking up on what personality traits a person is most ashamed of and brutally criticizing them with that.  He takes great joy in making others feel worse, as he feels turnabout is fair play.  The problem is, he thinks everyone is trying to get him, so this is pretty much his common way of living.  He's very good at reading people, which he uses to find the ulterior motive behind every act of kindness, which he knows exists.  He likes animals, but Blackwell doesn't let him have any.

Sam, in spite of it all, has some version of determination.  If he forgets his fearfulness, or has adequate incentive to brave it, he seems almost reckless in his determination.  He thinks himself as the best humanity has to offer, but he still is hardly a big fan of himself.  Sam often tries to sabotage those doing better than himself, something which he always regrets in the future, showing some measure of kindness from him that even he hardly recognizes, in spite of his actions.  In spite of all of his hatred, he is capable of empathy, and pities those that deserve to be pitied.

Profile:

As a youth, Sam hardly hated anyone.  He was still fearful, but found people to be almost admirable.  He was a model student, obedient and courteous, and he loved his parents.  One day, however, while still just a child, Sam was bullied.  Now, Sam was a pretty easy bullying target, but most people liked or pitied him enough to avoid it.  When he watched this bully do the same things to others, Sam, in his good nature, let the teacher know.  The teacher told him not to be a tattle tale.  While the source of his paranoia is, like all illnesses, a collection of events, biological, and thoughts, this, at the least, started him down the road.  When he observed his teacher, he found her to have her own numerous flaws, and Sam gained a new perspective.  With his newfound distrust of people, it escalated, over time, to complete and utter paranoia.  At a certain point, this got so bad that he was incapable of leaving his house, and so his parents forced him to go to an asylum.

Fears/dislikes:

Well, pretty much everything.  Of particular notes are aliens, though, for both categories.

Interests/likes:

He likes animals.  And adventure games.  He loves reaching new heights and looking at the scenery.

Hello.  I'm trying for a bit of the opposite this time, if you noticed.

I did yes - certainly a turnaround from Simon. At any rate, I think his pretty malicious ability to castigate someone based on what they don't like about themselves is incredibly intriguing, as well as his ability to read people. I suppose it's just a question of interacting with people far enough to being able to read and shame them.
