Personality: Mr. Kurokawa is a stern, strict man. He is very guarded and some might even call him secretive or brooding. He prefers to spend time alone, rarely interacting with anyone, even the staff members. When arguments form between students, Kurokawa claims to be fair, but some of the supernatural students can’t help but notice that he tends to favor the human students.

Backstory: Mr. Kurokawa was brought in as a vice principal when Salem High first started accepting human students. The previous principal, who had worked at the school for 15 years, soon decided to move back in with her parents due to a sudden decline in her father’s health. Kurokawa took over her position; although, he was met with much opposition, since the supernatural community didn’t exactly like the idea of a human running one of their schools. In order to appease everyone, Kurokawa agreed to let the district appoint his new vice principal, rather than choose one himself. They appointed Miss Hollinghurst, a well-respected and well-liked member of the supernatural community, and most of the drama surrounding Kurokawa went away. However, a few years later, Kurokawa’s husband died mysteriously. Police claimed it was a freak accident, but the lack of a ghoul made many suspicious that foul play was involved on Kurokawa’s part. The only good news seemed to be that, without a direct connection to a supernatural creature, Kurokawa couldn’t work under the government, and therefore, would have to resign from his position as principal. However, a little less than a year earlier, Yura’s sister died in childbirth. Yura and Kurokawa had been assigned as her legal guardians, so even after Yura’s death, Kurokawa was able to keep his job. Since most of this occurred over 5 years ago, the majority of the students currently attending Salem High are unaware of what happened unless they have older siblings who have told them the rumors and theories that were going on at the time. All that the students know for sure is that almost everybody either hates or distrusts their principal, and he has never given them a good reason not to.

Personality: Liz is very caring and gentle towards others. She has a way of knowing whether somebody needs her to be energetic and encouraging or calm and sympathetic. She’s great at giving advice, helping with work, or even just listening to others vent. She can be pretty cheerful at times, but never annoyingly so. Not even Mr. Kurokawa has a problem with her.

Backstory: Liz used to be a vice principal at the local junior high, so many of the supernatural students at the school may already know her. When she was offered her current position, she gladly accepted. She was a little disappointed when she realized that she would be little more than an over-glorified secretary, but she assumed that Mr. Kurokawa was simply the type of guy who preferred to work alone, and later, that the death of his husband had made him become more reclusive, pouring himself into his work as a coping mechanism; in fact, she has been very defensive of him when she hears the other staff members spreading rumors about him or talking behind his back. Nowadays, Kurokawa has given her a little more responsibility, but for the most part, she helps out the other teachers and acts as a guidance counselor in her free time.

Personality: Lilith is very mysterious to most people that meet her. She initially comes off as cold and uncaring, but the truth is, she’s just guarded. She doesn’t want to risk people hating her or taking advantage of her, so she doesn’t give them a chance to get to know her. She doesn’t mind that people find her intimidating and avoid her, because the way she sees it, there’s less of a possibility of her accidentally hurting them. There are some preconceptions about her that are true, though; she’s not someone you want to upset. When standing up for herself and others, sometimes Lilith’s inner nature gets the best of her, which is truly terrifying to behold, and even scarier when you’re the one it’s targeting.

Backstory: Lilith’s mother died in childbirth, which her dad has blamed her for ever since. He’s tried to kill her a few times, and he might’ve succeeded if not for her mother’s decision to stick around and protect her. As she’s gotten older, things have only gotten worse. She looks more like her mother every day, causing her dad to resent her even more than before. Not to mention his constant pressuring her to follow in his footsteps. She tries her best to stand up to him, but you try standing tall while faced with the literal embodiment of fear. The only thing that makes it somewhat easier is that she can sense the one thing that actually scares him. Her.

Kelly likes to take life by the reigns, letting nothing and no one get in their way. They want to explore all that life has to offer and have fun doing it. Sometimes, in order to get their way, they can be a bit blunt or manipulative, but they believe the ends justify the means. They couldn’t care less if people, like Ivy, call them reckless or insensitive; life’s too short to please everyone.

Backstory: As a child, it was clear that Ivy regularly experienced drastic shifts in personality. At first, it was assumed that she suffered from DID, like her mother; however, once puberty hit, the physical changes that accompanied her personality shifts made it clear that, somehow, she had inherited her grandfather’s condition. Both Ivy and Kelly have tried numerous times to find a way to either split themselves apart or get rid of the other. They were excited to receive a letter from Mr. Kurokawa requesting their presence at Salem High, but they were more curious of the fact that he asked them to do a few things for him, including keeping their supernatural status a secret… from other supernaturals.

Relationship with Family: She was disowned by her family in Puerto Rico, but her grandfather tries to keep in touch with her. She lives with her husband, who isn’t the most caring person; she usually defends him, saying that he’s nicer at home or is just having a bad day, but those who pay close attention might notice that sometimes she doesn’t take off her sunglasses indoors and often wears sweaters or turtlenecks on even the hottest days.

Personality: Lorelei is very sweet and caring. She hates herself for what she is and believes that she can redeem herself by making others happy. She avoids conflict as much as possible and takes the blame for any wrongdoings in a situation she’s involved in. Many people notice this and take advantage of it, but she claims not to mind and to be happy to help in any way necessary.

Backstory: Lorelei was born to the head family in her pod, and even before she was born, she was seen as a symbol of shame. She was the product of a one night stand between her mother and a vampire from England. When she was born, her family hoped her odd appearance was simply due to her being a hybrid, but a simple gold test proved their worst fears. She was kept away from the rest of the pod, and as soon as she turned eighteen, she was cast out. She managed to enroll in a community college in America, her technical homeless status allowing her to take classes for free. There, she met her future husband. He was the first person other than her grandfather to give her any attention, and the fact that he was a vampire made it easier for her to pretend not to be a hybrid and impossible for her to ever accidentally attack him if she went too long without eating. After they got married, however, he started showing his true colors. He was aggressive and rude. If Lorelei didn’t do things according to his liking, he would turn on her. He’s abusive in every sense of the word: verbally, emotionally, physically… Lorelei took a job at Salem High in hopes that some distance would relieve the tension at home. Mr. Kurokawa offered her a room at the school, but she didn’t accept it, fearing Fred might become even angrier if he thought she was trying to get away. Mr. Kurokawa saved one for her anyway, and she has stayed there a couple of times when she knows Fred’s had a little too much to drink (and I’m not talking about blood).

Personality: Hank is just about the happiest person you will ever meet; he is literally the human embodiment of a golden retriever. He’s extremely energetic, loves turning everyday chores into games, and always tries to cheer up those around him. He really is a sweetheart.

Backstory: Hank was orphaned at an age too young for him to remember. He traveled all over Central America, doing small jobs here and there to make money for food. He ran into Ulric, who was on vacation at the time, at the age of 12. Ulric had a little too much to drink that night, and was startled when Hank came up behind him, asking for spare change, and he accidentally scratched him. After finding out Hank was orphaned and homeless, Ulric decided to adopt him. He made sure Hank was well cared for and let him pick a name for himself, which he had previously been lacking. It was a bit surprising to see what he assumed was a girl pick the name, Henry, but Ulric put two and two together and supported his new son. Hank has always considered becoming a werewolf to be a blessing, since it gave him a home, and the fast-growing body hair has made it easier for him to pass.

He hates when people act as if they have higher authority than him without reason, not really as a superiority complex but more as he hates being looked down on. He doesnt get angry or irritated easily but when he his its very clear that he is.

Backstory: Kaitei grew up in american water with his mother and father who were from Fukushima waters. They were driven out of both their pod and their home because of the tsunami that had hit in 2001. The tsunami hit a nuclear power plant and polluted the water to the extreme. They moved to american waters in hopes to find a safe home for their soon to be born son. He was raised in the warm waters of Georgia and was happy to be enrolled in Salem High. He was excited about going to school, but the excitement mostly came from the fact that he would be away from his parents, who were both clingy and overprotective. Being given a little bit of space was something he wanted more than anything.

Personality:​

It takes a while to get to know Amira, but the biggest two things to know are that she's resourceful and humble. Of course she's also free-thinking, creative and adaptable, but they're tainted by and mixed with habits of being indecisive as well.
Her resoursefullness though, this is what she's kind of cherished for. Friends usually count on this and her optimism in times of need.
Nobody's perfect of course and Amira has rotten moods and days too. Her impaitentness and slyness sour the mood many a time, much to the annoyance of others. Fortunately her optimism helps make sure these days are few and far between.

Backstory:
She lived in the Sea of Crete with her father, who wasn't a Piranah mermaid/merman so it was difficult for her. Around the times she was 12, fishing became more popular, so her father had them move for their safety. And they happened to move to Florida, in the USA. When her dad heard about Salem High, he enrolled Amira there, which he wouldn't have done if it weren't a school for supernatural creatures.

Personality: A snarker through and through, Rebecca has a quip for anything. She is loyal and caring, and seems to be always upbeat- after you've died, nothing really gets you down. She enjoys reading and drawing.

Backstory: At first, Rebecca seemed to be an ordinary girl, but when she was five, her dog Bailey got hit by a car. She cried over her pet's body, and to her shock, his tail wagged. That was the first time Rebecca raised the dead, and soon, she became proficient at making zombies. Her parents were surprisingly accepting of her powers, believing she was given them for a reason, but at eleven, she was diagnosed with leukemia.

Chemo and radiation treatments were hell on earth, and her condition slowly worsened. Rebecca could have stolen life force from those around her, but it didn't feel right to take years off the lives of her friends and family to extend her own. Yet she didn't want to die, either. The solution came to her one night, searching through pages of necromancy online, and with her parents' permission, she decided to perform a black ritual to preserve herself.

Taking her soul and putting it in a crystal, she then ripped out her heart and placed her crystal inside it to restart her body. Now being undead, her necromantic powers truly blossomed, and she was one of the most powerful necromancers for her age on the planet. Being accepted into Salem was a formality, and she's looking forward to her new school.

Ethereal_Dreams I like her, but there are just a few things I'd like you to add to make things clear. She should have at least one weakness that isn't already listed in the lore, and since she's a piranha mermaid, I'd like to know whether she eats human flesh or fish flesh doused in blood, which would affect her speed, strength, and stamina as well as whether or not she'd have to bring her meals from home. Other than that, she's accepted, though.

Relationship with Family: Laika doesn't remember much of her birth parents (only what Estella and Cillian have told her and what she chooses to remember) and quite frankly she doesn't care all that much. To her they're not her parents other than in blood relation. Her relationship with Estella and Cillian, who she claims as her parents, is something that you would expect of a regular mother, father, and daughter relationship, but through no fault of her mother's Laika tends to lean a bit more toward her father when it comes to most thing. Although it's not too surprising as she is a self proclaimed daddy's girl. As for her sister Laika looks up to her as if she can do no wrong. It's almost funny actually because in their youth for a good month or so Laika absolutely refused to go anywhere near Aria. While it is more than obvious that Laika can take care of herself Aria can't help but to be protective of and baby her little sister as if she were a child.

Personality: At first glance most people expect Laika to fall into the rough and tough orc stereotype which is far from the truth. Honestly, Laika is a huge softy. She's friendly in nature and a huge chatter mouth; she could really go on forever talking about whatever comes to mind. She's always willing to make the first move when it comes to friendship and isn't afraid of rejection, as she knows that not everybody is going to want to be her friend. Laika is a fairly decent judge of character and know who to try and befriend and who to steer clear from. Despite this she can find herself being a little bit too trusting sometimes which (luckily not too often) ends in her getting hurt, but little by little she is always learning from her mistakes no matter how stubborn she can be sometimes.

Backstory: Born to a pair of orcs unfit for parenting Laika was quickly placed into the foster care system in hopes of eventually reuniting with her parents when they are capable of taking care of her, but regretfully that day never came. She stayed within the system until she was around 3 years old where she was introduced to the Steele household. Laika got along wonderfully with the family of elves and quickly grew attached to the family. Unlike with her other foster homes she didn't act out with them. She stayed with them for about a year before it was decided that they wanted to adopt the young orc. No longer than a few months later Laika was officially a Steele. Beyond that Laika has grown up fairly normal.

Relationship with Family: Briar has always been pretty close to her parents but it seems as if in recent years the three have gotten closer, if possible. Her bothers on the other hand are a different story. While the two younger brothers seem to get along the three can't be left alone together without someone getting hurt or something being broken - usually it's the former. The three have the stereotypical "siblings that can't stop fighting with one another save their lives but would take a bullet for each other without a doubt". It's normal for the twins to gang up on Briar or for her to endlessly pick on them but in the end they all care for each other, as much as they'd hate to admit it. Due to complications with their relationship with her father Briar really doesn't really talk to her paternal family, outside of her aunt Victoria who she is like a second mother to her, but on the other hand she's really close with her mom's side of the family. More specifically she's closest with her grandmother Ziyi (who insist Briar call her ZiZi instead of granny as it makes her feel old).

Personality: Briar at first comes off as a very shy, closed off person, mostly because she prefers to keep to herself around strangers, but that's merely the surface level of her personality. She's friendly in nature and is always trying to make friends, even if her approach is a bit reserved, but once she starts to feel a lot more comfortable around people she's like a completely different person. Briar in general is a easily excitable person and conveys it with every facet of her body. She doesn't really get angry easily as she feels that being angry for too long is bad for any ad everybody. She's a curious person at heart so she's always been a bit more observant than most. Briar can really pick up the subtle things about a person and remembers them with ease. Her curiosity has always fueled her passion for wanting to learn more about the world and the people in it.

Backstory: Born and raised in Salem, Briar grew up with a fairly normal life. Well as normal as it could be in this town. She never knew what it was about Salem but she always felt as if there were something off about it. Growing up, aside from baseball one of her many hobbies was going over the history of the town, but aside from a few major events. She always found it strange how there were always bits and pieces of history missing wherever she went searching or how whatever was there just didn't seem right. Briar was always willing to share her thoughts about how weird this town was but most of the time she got either picked on for her ideas or waved off. In the most recent year Briar wasn't able to do much research as she was much too busy focusing on her gender identity, but as she enters Salem High she's determined to figure out what's so off about this town.

Yep, that's fine. I was just checking because certain species, like orcs, don't necessarily have ethnicities if they're full-blooded. It's complicated to explain, sorry.

Currently, his intermediate family considers him to be exiled so things aren't so good outside of his sister.
Personality:
Aros is a gentle person, who is a bit naive of the world around him and relies on emotional impulses more than actual facts.
A hopeless romantic who constantly has his head in the clouds, for someone who can seem so sweet he can be very ignorant when it comes to species, often relying on bad stereotypes to jump to conclusions on others before fully meeting them. Aros is capable of learning, and when he realizes that he has made a poor judgment of another person he is willing to apologize . . . He still retains some of the egotistical views of his people, such as Pure Blooded Merfolk being superior (Piranha are not considered to be in this group, as well as less appealing types of Merfolk), as well as their vanity and gold digger tendencies.
Backstory:
Aros comes from a community of Merpeople located around Santorini, his people originating from "The Lost City of Atlantis". His people are known to be Merfolk Purists (Alantians as some call them), accepting only pure Mermaids/Mermen, exiling any off breeds of Merpeople. They also remain closed off from the outside world, staying deep in the waters in which they believe is to be the true way of Merfolk.
Despite the taboo of intermingling with the outside world, he and his sister both became enamored when they met their first "human". Aros became a bit too attached and visited the man far more than he should of, which ultimately led him to be exiled by his family and people.
After that, Aros found refugee with Jackson Havens which in turn led him to Salem High School, still hoping he'll find the human.

Skills and Abilities:
Water Manipulation - Aros like many merpeople at home are able to manipulate water with slight hand gestures. Underwater it is only seen as a small water current, but above water, he is able to move a small collection of water around. He is not able to change the properties of the water. If he is moving cold water around, he cannot heat it up and vice versa.
Water Bubbles - By making a circular gesture with his fingers, Aros can blow throw it underwater to create a bubble filled with air under water. This is something normally used to easily send things over around his city, but it can also be useful to help someone without gills to breath underwater for a few minutes.​

Weaknesses:
-Shifting between his merfolk tail and his human legs is still a slow process for him.
-Due to living most of his life in the water until recently, his legs aren't that strong and he can only walk for a limited amount of time.
-Needs water like every other merperson.
-Basically all of the merpeople weaknesses

Fears:
-Nights when there is no moon. At home, there were always a string of lights that resembled stars, and one central light that was like the moon. So when the moon isn't visible he believes something bad is going to happen.
-Vampires and Werewolves scare him because he believes that if they get hungry and he is alone, they will eat him because obviously, Pureblooded mermaids are the best. It's not that big of a fear, more of something that makes him uneasy . . . Unless a vampire (or werewolf) flashes their teeth at him and joke around about eating him, then that will definitely have him scrambling to get away.
-"William" forgetting about him or being dead.
Likes:
-Aros likes whales, and basically anything ocean related like jellyfishes.
-Treasure. Anything that holds value and glimmers is something Aros cannot resist.
-Bakery goods, hot chocolate with a strawberry, and lemon soup.
Dislikes:
-Alge
-Piranha Merfolk
-His own human legs. He tends to keep them covered out of shame.
-Merpeople who aren't pureblooded.

Relationship Status:
Aros considers himself engaged, and the Medallion Necklace that his "lover" left for him is proof of it . . . Even though the man mysteriously stopped visiting him and he hasn't seen him since. Aros is sure that he is out there waiting for him, and the two will find each other because they are "soulmates".
