history
honestly, ga-eun's backstory is pretty uneventful for one of korea's top young actresses. she had a very stereotypical upbringing—was born as the youngest of two children at the time and pretty much just followed in her older brother's footsteps for almost everything. she demanded that her parents sign her up for the same sports that sang-hyun played, wanted to be at his side whenever they were together, took his side whenever he argued with their parents or friends and went along with whatever he did, much to the exasperation of her parents.
see, she was the youngest and the only girl and was the main object of their affections (much to her dismay). she mainly went along with sang-hyun to get away from them but that pretty much backfired. however, when she was in elementary school, min-joon was born and everything changed. she was no longer the youngest child and all of her parents attention thankfully shifted off of her. to be honest, it was quite nice not to be the focus of the family.
due to the major age gap between them all, ga-eun still found herself to be closer with sang-hyun than min-joon. of course, she willingly babysat for her younger brother, but still connected more with the oldest. then the family moved to seoul for her father's work and it was the first time that the older two were to go to separate schools. well, it was pretty damn near impossible for ga-eun to get through the day without seeing her brother in the halls between classes, but she somehow managed.
during her first year of university, she came across an advertisement for an open casting call for an upcoming kdrama. despite having no acting experience whatsoever, she decided she'd go to the audition ("for shits and giggles" she often says). and lord knows how, but she somehow got a call back for a supporting female role and then landed the role.
now with nearly seven years of acting experience, she's quickly risen through the ranks and has become a very popular young female actress. currently, she just began shooting the upcoming drama "whispers amongst the stars" alongside lee jin-seok, one of the top male actors. and though ga-eun is thrilled to have been asked to star in it, she just wants some time off to visit sang-hyun in japan or spend a weekend at home with min-joon, helping him with his homework and lazing around the house eating ice cream.

history
Jae-Hyun was born on a warm day of July or what could be considered warm for a city like Pyeongchang, where the winters were longer than the summers but even if it had been the coldest day of the year for Im Jeong-Hoon and Lee Bom, the owners of a small store for ski equipment that was well known around the city.
While growing up Jae-Hyun's life was pretty much just the one of a regular kid, who spent most of his childhood playing around and discovering everything around him had to offer, since a young age Jae-Hyun was known for his kind and reliable persona, something that was thought by his parents of always making sure to lend a helping hand and always doing the right thing.
So he was that kind of kid that would share his food in case you didn't like what you were having or that would sneak some candies during class just because he noticed one of his friends sad and was always running around helping his neighbors with their groceries or just helping them with fixing things because for him it was more about the meaning behind the action than the actual result or the money, which even if he wasn't that interested in it receiving some pocket money for it wasn't bad either because in his mind then he could buy something that could make his parents happy or snacks to share with his friends, he was that kind of kid.
He was also the kind of smart kid who even if he was always trying to do something fun really put into consideration his studies and was always helping others when they struggle, maybe he wasn't the most brilliant mind at his school, but he had a passion for learning that made up for his lack of natural talent for school.
At the age of 7, he became an older brother when Mi-Hi was born, Jae-Hyun felt giddy about becoming an older brother and having someone to protect and helped to discover the world, he wanted to be the best brother that Mi-Hi would ever ask for.
But even if his family took care of Mi-Hi and Jae-Hyun did his best to protect her from everything she was born with a weak heart, something that at first they were told wouldn't cause too much harm to the girl except that she wouldn't be able to have an active childhood as they should have wanted, heartbroken they made the best of the bad news and try to make Mi-Hi have a happy life but when she was rushed to the hospital at the age of 6 and Jae-Hyun's family was told that Mi-Hi's condition got worse and that she would need a pacemaker made the family asked if they did something wrong.
After the operation, the constant travel to Seoul for Mi-Hi's checkups only made that Jae-Hyun's parents decided to move to the city, for the sake of Mi-Hi and their family. He understood even if he didn't want to leave behind his friends and his school, but he was willing to sacrifice what he knew his entire life. So at the age of 13, he said goodby to Pyeongchang and started brand new in Seoul.
But even if moving away cause stating in a completely new school and now seeing his parents own a convenience store instead of one for ski equipment something that remained the same was Jae-Hyun's cheerful and positive way of seeing life and approach things, so with a bright smile he embarked on his new adventure as he discovered the wonders that Seoul had to offer for him.
The school became harder but that only gave him more drive to study even harder, even if he wasn't at the top of his class he just had enough with the goals that he had put on himself that was to learn as much as he could while he still enjoyed it. He eventually became once again the friendly and reliable guy that everyone associated with always having a bright goofy smile and was always ready to help.
Even if still missed his hometown, the change wasn't bad as Mi-Hi was getting the treatment she deserved, and his parent's convenience store was known around the students, also because Jae-Hyun made sure to spread the word around his peers. At the age of 16, he started working as a part-timer in a Korean BBQ Restaurant till he graduated high school, mostly to save as much as possible for college and when the time came to pick a degree he chose education because he always admired the work of his teachers while growing up.
University passed by as he enjoyed his time there with the memories that he made along the way, he made his main focus his studies but still worked during the weekends at his family convenience store, the occasional girlfriend along his journey, but even if he was happy there was still some loneliness for his memories and friends from high school that he missed and grew apart as all of them took their own way.
After he graduated and a lot of time searching for an opportunity he was able to get a job in a high school and with that, he became the teacher in charge of physics, he put all his passion into making sure that his students enjoyed his classes and try to be as proactive as he could, for him if he could impact his lives or even make school more enjoyable was enough for him.
