Rosalia Aureliano

Rosalia simply looked at the headmaster with a hint of a smile on her face. The sudden announcement and the hiding of Beacon didn’t even seem to be a surprise for the Mafia heir, she simply dragged her bag to a safe location, before opening it despite the fact that it contained what was effectively a bomb. In the bag was countless dust crystals of different kinds, any rough movements might set off the bag in a violent explosion. Though she simply took out a few canisters in a confident manner before locking the suitcase and walking towards the track.

The people prepare in order to run the track taking running poses to get the best time, however, Violeta would simply stand there and then… create a rose gold barrier at her feet… the headmaster never said anything about using Semblances, now did he?

Violeta was launched in a blur, faster than anyone, before creating another barrier under her and launching herself over the obstacles and landing on the other side, finishing the course in a few minutes, blazing past everyone.

The next part of the course, Violeta simply chose a simple business suit, walking down the walkway with the same dignified manner as she carried herself, before posing for the photo.

Violeta then prepared for the crawl… by pulling out her pistols… after all, he didn’t say anything about weapons either. Violeta used her dust pistols to create a path of ice for her to slide under the barbed wires, before launching herself upwards with wind dust to leap over the wall. As she landed she created another pink barrier to slow herself down and push off the mud that would have been kicked up when she launched the wind dust, ending up spotless.

Of course some might consider what she did cheating, but a Hunter’s weapon and Semblance was basically a part of themselves and they were in a school of Hunters, using them was completely fair game.

Silver arrived just before the school became visible and gave an audible "Ooo" when it did so. She didn't expect this Beacon Academy place to be so fancy! When the principal appeared she stared expectantly at him while nodding along with him, as if in her mind everything he said made perfect sense. In reality, she was just covering for the fact that she had no clue what was going on. What did make sense to her was the mention of an obstacle course. She could definitely do one of those! The runway part didn't make sense though. Why would a photo op be part of an obstacle course? She could roll with the punches sure, but it was definitely odd.

Before starting on the obstacle course, Silver threw her jacket to the side leaving her in her sleeveless black top and torn-up white jeans. The hurdles and monkey bars were easy and she quickly cleared those. The gaps would probably be more challenging for some, but she was in peak condition so jumping over them proved to be little problem. She then arrived at the midway point and was quickly powdered before being given a suit jacket and scarf. She then walked down the runway and put a hand on her hip for the pictures. Once that was over, she walked back, pressed herself against the ground and skilfully army crawled underneath the barbed wire. She popped back up at the end, covered in dirt, and ran at the wall, clearing it in a flying jump. She landed feet first and let out a breath as she smiled, completely unbothered by the unorthodox initiation.

Waiting under the tree, Soleil watched as a few more students trickled into the garden. He was a little perplexed that no one had shown up yet. The garden is getting ful-his train of thought was interrupted by a sudden sneeze, which was strange given the lack of wind.

All of a sudden, his surroundings began to change. The seemingly endless expanse of trees faded to reveal the towering buildings of the school campus. And walking towards the students was a platinum blonde man accompanied by a - was that a tiger? The man introduced himself as the principal of Beacon Academy, Blanche Vos.

As the man gave his “opening speech”, Soleil was quickly overcome with a sense of deja vu. "Selling my soul"? That sounded just like Daphne when she was in her witch phase.

When the principal finished his shady welcome, he gestured to the obstacle covered field next to the garden. On his command, a surge of students ran towards the course. Soleil stayed a safe distance away, not wanting to get caught in the scuffle. When his line of sight cleared up slightly, Soleil quickly jumped up to get a clear view of the field.

There were a few low hurdles, some monkey bars, and two pits filled with stuff Soleil couldn’t make out, followed by a long white stage. If the principal’s words were to be trusted, there was also an area with barbed wire, followed by a wall. The obstacles seem…strangely easy.

But as he observed the students ahead, Soleil saw that there weren’t any traps laid along the obstacle course. Guess I should start. Wouldn’t want to be dead last, after all.

Tightening his bag straps, Soleil made a running start. Flying over the four hurdles - two at a time, he quickly jumped and grabbed the monkey bars. Smoothly clearing that as well, Soleil looked over the next obstacle.

A pit of sticky acorns, followed by a pit of mud. He could easily clear them, but it wouldn’t hurt to be safe. Beneath his long pants, his legs gained a metallic sheen as he activated his Semblance. Using the small platform in between, Soleil made one long leap, and leapt over the two pits.

Landing before the stage, Soleil stiffened as a familiar smell wafted under his nose. The smell of make-up powder. Looking up, the glaring feather boas hurt to look at. Next to the boas was a rack of suit jackets in a variety of styles and colours, which were thankfully much less garish than the feathered scarves.

As he looked at the students on stage, Soleil realised he would have to have his pictures taken wearing those. A sick feeling settled in his stomach. What if Yvonne and Blythe saw me in that? His siblings would keel over laughing if they saw him looking like a fool in that feathery monstrosity - being cooed over in a dress was one thing, but wearing a boa? His siblings would have a field day. The pictures would remain on the mantle forever.

One of the staff came over to Soleil, snapping him out of his trance. “Sir, are you alright? You’re looking a little pale. You haven’t even put on the powder yet.” The reminder only made him feel worse. He was going to look like a sheet of paper, and with the flash on those cameras…he was going to look like a goddamn ghost.

Looking at some of the students’ ensembles made Soleil shiver. He would have to leave his cardigan and bag behind and come back for them later. Going through the suits, he picked out a tan double-breasted suit jacket. Shedding his bag and cardigan, he slipped on the jacket. Now for the boas. Sifting through the pile of oversaturated feathers, he eventually found a dark brown boa that matched his pants. Reluctantly draping it over his arms, he let one of the staff apply a thin coat of powder - apparently he was so pale the powder wouldn’t do much for him.

As he stared at the flashing runway, Soleil felt faint. Looking into one of the mirrors, he adjusted his expression to neutral. Or as neutral as he could get. Adjusting his posture, he recalled his mother’s wise words - don’t drag your feet, you’ll look like a slob - and began to walk down the stage.

The sides of the runway were dotted with people trying to direct his poses, but Soleil couldn’t hear anything over the camera shutters - and the ringing in his head. Looking at the cameras, Soleil tilted his head and rested an arm against his hip - this should count as a pose, right? Soleil slowly made his way down the runway, his lead-heavy feet stopping him from running down the path. His face was frozen in the neutral look, aside from the occasional glare at the bright lights. Soleil looked perfectly calm, aside from his violently twitching tail that - thankfully - faced away from the cameras.

Gliding off the stage, Soleil quickly tossed off the boa. He had to keep the suit jacket on, which was fine since it meant his shirt would remain relatively unsoiled. Remembering to keep his tail lowered, he crawled through the barbed wire, and with his semblance, Soleil vaulted over the wall, finally making it to the end.

Going back to retrieve his bag and jacket, Soleil wiped the powder off with his suit jacket’s sleeve. Taking off the stuffy jacket, a weight lifted off his chest as he passed it to one of the staff members. Tying his cardigan around his waist, Soleil made his way back to the finish line. It’s finally over.

1934d8ea49a960c6002536708da6c2e9.jpg As the lot pondered on on the school's whereabouts, a static sound catches everyone's attention. Like magic, the academy suddenly reveals itself. All this time, and it has stood right under their noses. Of course, Sangriella is easily amazed by the advanced technology.

Two people, and a pet tiger come forth for introductions. They reveal their identities as the headmaster and the mascot of the school. Sangriella couldn't help but dote on the animal. Headmaster Vos explains how Beacon Academy was cloaked by using wireless beacons posted around the area. Once all is said and done, the headmaster directs everyone to obstacle filled course, and provides instructions on the first task. The minute he blows the whistle to start is when everyone bolts straight to the course tumbling.

Sangriella trails behind at a safe distance observing each person get through the course in no time. Some folks were in peak condition and some were not. Thankfully, Sangriella has always been athletic with how active she is living in the woods. Before she could set foot to the course, a faunus passes by with a pet in hand. Another cleverly used their semblance and dust to rocket through the entire way. Next was a beautiful, white haired girl who ran through with gracre. Finally, Soleil went ahead without missing a beat either to get through, safe for the runway that had somehow shifted his body to be stiff.

The witch could hardly contain her excitement, inspired by their tactics. "Hah!" She scoffed placing her hands on her hips with confidence. "This is going to be a piece of cake. This is nothing compared to the woods. I'll finish in a snap." She snaps her fingers on the last bit before sprinting towards the first obstacle of hurdles. She's jumped over cliffs, and logs plenty. Hurdles were easy. Next, the monkey bars. Climbing was not a problem, however landing across was a different story as she trips on a pinecone thus earning a couple of acorns and pinecones attached to her figure.

"Not cool." She groaned, trying to unstick the nuts before they're dried. Sadly, some have torn holes on her sleeves, and a tear on her hood. "This sucks. This is my favorite cloak." There was no point in complaining when there is still a few ways to go before the halfway point. All that's left to do is jump over a small gap of mud which she barely made no thanks to acorns. As Sangriella walks up the runway area, a faculty member pulls her in front of the steps to dress her in a suit jacket. Her hood is forced off her as it's replaced with a feathery maroon scarf. She tries to fabricate incoherent words only to be lost on deaf ears as she's pushed to a lady holding a powder press. Sangriella's eyes widen in horror, protesting against it, but is taken by surprise as they swiftly dab her face with powder prior to pushing her on the stage.

Sangriella struts awkwardly like a newborn deer who's blinded by both the lights and the residue of powder on her face. The worst was yet to come failing to see the end of the runway causing her to once again walk off the stage. Unfortunately, the sound of the camera shuttering meant they caught a terrible image of her during her downfall. The camera man yells, "next" with no concern for her. The witch grumbles, struggling to get on her feet.

The last two obstacles were dreadful. Sangriella covered in acorns and pinecones now dressed with the scarf forced to crawl underneath the barbed wire while collect dirt, and tearing up the suit. She manages to make it, however, halfway through her scarf got caught on the barbwire which caused her to prick her fingers in trying to disentangle the bloody thing. "One more to go. It's a wall Sangriella, you can do this." She sighed as she catches her breath. With her fingers pricked, it was difficult to get a grasp on the rope with the tingling sensation of pain running through her, yet she pulls through climbing the wall with each careful step until she's over the wall.

The minute she crosses the finish line, she kneels in front of the fountain, while removing the scarf and suit. She splashes water on her face to wash off the dirt, and embarrassment. She may have passed but made a fool of herself in the process. She sits idly reflecting until everyone was done while removing the remaining acorns off her.

Myst listened tot he snake girl nervously speak her expression noticing how nervous the girl was. Myst didn't really get why she was so nervous and it made her want to find a way for Opal to relax. Myst tended to just relax and chill out she did what she needed and didn't really go out of her way to do more, she di if asked, but for the most part would rather find some warm place to lay down instead of fraying he nerves. That might be why she was slam and others were not, she had just learned to roll with life over fight it. How do you calm someone as nervous as opal down? Myst had never been good with energetic people they always moved to fast all the time.

As Myst mused on this the principal appeared and Myst didn't get time to speak before the school and the course appeared. Myst let out a sigh as Opal; left excitedly moving towards the course. Myst meanwhile didn't try to run or be the first to the course and instead walked over there. The hidden academy made sense as some kind of technology, likely dust fueled, but the course confused Myst. This was something like out of the great war, it was set up to replicate battlefield obstacles for person to person fighting. Fighting a grimm was not like fighting another person and more often than not huntsmen were more focuses on agility than barbed wire. Obstacle courses were not unused in combat schools, but more often they included things to simulate the grimm and had more moving parts. The oddest part was the photo part. Vos was eccentric, that was well known. So perhaps he just wanted silly photos of everyone? It didn't really make sense as this was for fighting, but he had invited them he knew they had skills. The photos were just to random to just be random Voss must want photos of the students looking silly. If this was true then the rest of the course was just a pretext to make people think the photos were just an addition not the goal.

While Myst had no issues actually doing the course, she decided if a photo was what Voss really wanted then she would skip the extra steps and go right to the main event. So while others played with what was right in front of them, Myst just went around the course and went to go get her make up. Yes they had been told to do the course and Myst was going against what she was told, but a solider followed orders, a huntsman did what they felt was right, They listened to team members, and to authority figures, but they were not bound by them, they made not oath to serve and obey. They were not soldiers. That was another reason Myst did feel The course was something of a test in a test, he knew they could all get through it, but who would think around it and who would see what he wanted. The grimm followed no rules, they didn't play fair so you couldn't always blindly do as told.

With that Myst easily made it to the walkway. There was staff there to help the students and while she decided to let them apply some make up she didn't bother with a change of clothes. She knew she was already well dressed or well people always told her she was, Myst had some taste in clothes but fashion to her was did she like it or did she not. The greater trends were not something she chased. Myst had an idea for the photo and she didn't need any clothes for that. Walking down the walkway Myst took the sheild off her back and that the end of the walk raised if up activating sevral dusts with her aura. There was and explosion of smoke from a mix of combustion and rock dust Myst used to create smoke screens. As the smoke cleared, with the help of a little bit of wind dust, Myst would be revealed in not her kimono but seemingly clad in almost teal blue armor. Hard light dust made to project the form of the the armor of a knight from a fairytale. This was something she had gotten help rigging up in school, she had two main modes for the use of hard light dust, the armor for herself and a dome for others. There were clicks and flashes as Myst had struck what she saw as a knightly pose brandishing her shield while clad in the hard light armor.

Then Next was called and Myst walked back up the walkways, the armor dissolving into sparks of light as she slowly withdrew her aura revealing her pristine kimono. With that done Myst resumed her pervious course of not doing the course, rather sure that she had done what Voss really wanted. There should be no need to test them with a simple course if he already knew their ability to fight. Yes the photos were the goal and the course a pretext, or at least Myst assumed as much, if not well there was always medical school. At the finish line Myst did see one girl that had walked off stage during the photo section. Myst had not exactly been swift in her stroll around the course, but she had managed to see and hear the laughs from those free enough to laugh at someone falling off the stage. The girl wandered off the the fountain and was at it before Myst actually finished getting through the course. This did Give myst one something of an idea, she wanted to ask a question to see if anyone else noticed the hidden desire of Voss.

Myst walked over to the girl, her clothes the only ones not stained with mud and dirt, or well only one she noticed as there might have been others Myst didn't notice. " You did the course why?" Myst asked as she drew closer her expression still looking as if she was wandering a dream.

May Cherry Blossom
Location: Beacon

It's nice to see that she's not the only one who was confused by the absence of the school, though she was a bit stumped when there's several more students gathered around the tree. Guess that's one of the effect of everyone having nothing to do but May didn't say anything much except maybe giving a bit nod here and there to acknowledge the other's presence. She just wants a bit of rest really... something that unfortunately wouldn't happen anytime soon as the school suddenly appeared out of some cloaking bubble and the principal asked the students to do some track course.

May squinted her eyes looking at the track. Monkey bar, some gaps to jump over, barbed wire. Nothing weird here, but she would be lying if she said she was excited for the exercises. Also, did he said enemy? She didn't know what enemy he was referring to warrant cloaking the entire school in invisible bubble but surely it's something more than occasional nevermore attacks.

Leaving the backpack under the tree, May decided to finish the course quickly so she can be done with it. She strolled into the first obstacle, the monkey bar, for this one she did it as intended. Her hands swinging from bar to bar like a monkey.

"That's a bit fun, I guess." May looked at the monkey bar behind her. Last time she did something like this was back when she was five or six, after that the last playground in her city became the location for a gang war and a lot of the equipments were broken, never to be fixed, and thus the playground became deserted area filled with rusty junks. Ah, what was she thinking at time like this? May snapped back her focus on what's ahead. The rest of the obstacles should be easy for her, May simply use her semblance on herself and performed a small leap over the first gap, though instead of landing on the ground that small leap ended up sending her floating through the second and then third gap before landing safely on the stage. Several staffs surrounded her and started to dress her in the silly clothes, she put up a lazy peace sign in front of the camera before continuing to the last one, the barbed wire. Just like the monkey bar, she did this one likea normal person and crawled through it. Though when she finally reached the other end she realized that a big chunk of her scarf was left stuck in one of the wire.

Oh, well...

1934d8ea49a960c6002536708da6c2e9.jpg Sangriella grumbled as the final acorn was removed. It was especially attached to her bottom, mysteriously. When discarded, she notices the albino girl dressed in a colorful kimono. She stood out like a sore thumb, not from her apparel, but from her large shield. Sangriella's eyes nearly popped out from under her hood over the sight. She comes to by a question that could be answered simply.

"Why did I do the course?" She parroted the query. "It's pretty obvious. The principal assigned us to do so. I mean yeah it's a weird way to start out with a course, but I'm sure there's a reason. There isn't much we freshman can do at the moment, so why not play along?"

The witch pauses realizing she rambled long enough. Hopefully her words didn't sound insincere to the girl, yet it still stands that the question is peculiar when it's self explanatory to the majority of the students who participated. Another factor would be Sangriella is accustomed to following orders.

Waiting near the finish line, Soleil looked over at the course. He was surprised to see Sangriella stumbling off the stage, before crawling under the barbed wire with the boa on. Unfortunately, the feathery scarf got caught on the wire. As he watched her untangle it, she appeared to have scratched herself, hands quickly retracting from the wire.

His theory was confirmed when he saw her struggle to hold onto the ropes. She needs first aid. He was about to approach her on the other side of the wall when a flash of colour caught his eye, along with a distinctive shimmering noise. Shifting his gaze, he realised it was coming from the runway of all places.

A pale haired girl appeared to be using dust to create an illusion of knight armour, whilst holding a disproportionately large shield. Even stranger, after the photos were taken, the girl simply…walked away? Was she even a participant?

Confused, Soleil’s eyes continued to follow the mysterious girl, until she stopped at the fountain. Kneeling next to it was Sangriella, washing her face with the fountain water.

Right, first aid! Soleil had been so absorbed in the weird girl’s display that he almost forgot Sangriella had gotten injured. Although their first interaction wasn’t ideal, it wasn’t in his nature to leave someone injured alone, especially if he could help.

Striding over to the two girls, he caught glimpses of their conversation. Why did I do the course? The question was certainly an interesting one. If Soleil had to give a simple reason, it was just because it was a reasonable request. After all, becoming a huntsman meant one needed a basic level of physical prowess. As for the fashion show…the principal seemed to have some weird tastes, but it wasn’t anything unbearable. I’ve dealt with worse.

Giving a small wave to Sangriella, he greeted the two. “Hi, how was the test?” Looking at Sangriella’s roughed up shape, he furrowed his brows. It’s worse than I thought.

“Do you need a tissue? I have some wet tissues in my bag, and some bandages if you need any. You look pretty…battered.” Reaching into his drawstring bag, he took out a pack of wet tissue, as well as some band-aids.

Because she was told to. So that was the reason nothing that myst had not noticed just the most surface of things. That was not how Voss, how huntsmen worked they had to see the things hidden in plain sight. That was at least how Myst had been taught and had come to think. Her combat school had emphasized independence in thought and action over uniformity. Aginst the grimm a hunter was a specialized custom made weapon where a soilder was a batch made weapon to be used in mass against other weapons.

"It was the photos" was all Myst had time to before another student came up to them. Headed about the test and it seemed he hadn't seen any deeper meaning in it. What had noticed or seemed to notice was something Myst has missed. The girl before her had taken damage not only to her clothes, but seemingly to her person. What that meant seemed to be lost on the boy as he didn't ask the obvious. There was nothing on the course that should break aura, nothing that should allow their clothes let alone their person get hurt. They got muddy but should not het torn. Aura protected then form extremes and from serious harm.

"Your clothes where is your aura?" Myst asked as she activated her semblance and reached out with her own aura. She was curious as to what would happen. Myst healed people via powering up their aura so somone that might not have activated theirs might not be affected or theirs might activate. Myst was not sure which one it would be.

Asher Cobalt & Nula Aquila

Nula Aquila

Stepping out of Sangriella's silky midnight hair. Soleil introduced himself with a kind smile but she did not heed to wave back or say. Keeping her hands behind her back. So far, she has known two names in a span of seconds due to the small gaggle of future huntsmen and huntressess in the area. Not to forget to mention a calming yet fierce face she hasn't seen in a while.

She twiddles her thumbs, thin brows furrowed as she gazes into the garden. "How can the school give us the wrong directions!?" Gritting and murmuring in every passing second.

That is until a large structure of grandiose design de-cloaks her very eyes, dropping her jaw, she could almost hear trumpets blaring. "...Maybe I was wrong."

With a magic entrance of course there is the host to greet. A rather stouted young man with a large white tiger accompanying his side. Nula retreats back to Asher at the sight of Snow the tiger. As quickly as the headmaster introduced himself, they also started a challenge to the students to a series of challenges with little to no explanation. As Nula struggles to raise a hand, the whistle forced her to slam her ears shut. The race has started.

"W-wait! No!" Everybody has moved. Nula stood watching as a few started on the first obstacle. The girl grasps into her short curly tip hair. "Issss… This for real!?"

Asher Cobalt

“I mean, I don't think it would be the wrong directions it wouldn’t be intentional” asher said calmly seeing the Principal appear and decloak the structures asher just smiled a little bit. “Hu so it was just hiding that pretty neet” he’d say with a soft smile, looking down at Nula, moments later Vos explained they’d have a bunch of challenges to go through before they began he was gonna say something as well but they where already made to start my asher not running off just yet since this wasn’t actually a race now was it? “Hey nula don’t worry about it it is for real but i think we can take our time besides wouldn’t leave you behind now would i?”

Nula Aquila

“Here goes nothin’...” Nula sighs, one foot winded back and off she dashes into the first hurdle ahead. Lunging forward onto the first hurdle, she bounced consecutively against the four hurdles with a movement similar to a bunny rabbit. Adding a near- perfect front flip at the last hurdle. Her arms flailed but balanced herself backwards from her own overextension and adjusts her glasses.

Up next was the extensive monkey bars. Noticing most students having creative ways to get around, she has observed that most performed the bars. She too grabbed the first bar, slightly warm from the hands of the previous participant. “I knew I shouldn't have read too much ‘Love Bloom: Battlefield”’ series during recess.” Just before she could grab the 2 last bars, Nula’s fingers slipped off.

Asher Cobalt

Asher was behind nula while not necessary any slower he still didn't wanna leave the girl behind and frankly he was more than impressed with Nula athletic display especially the flip she managed to do. "Great job your doing great!" Asher would yell he would take his own way using bursts of super heated air to bound over the hurdles himself.

Keeping the momentum going through monkey bars where not a massive problem either for him he sorta just skipped A lot of the bars quickly catching up to nula just before she slipped managing to catch her in one arm…and falling down himself oof.

Nula Aquila

"OH GREAT HEA–!!!" Nula fell but not without the embrace of a warm arm before cushioning onto the ground.

"Ugh… Oh no! Are you alright!? I didn't mean to!" Instantly standing upward from sitting on Asher's abs. Dusting off a bit of his shirt. Just ahead a student just decided to fly over the gaps with what she could only assume is their semblance. She looked back down to Asher grabbing his left arm, trying her hardest to lift the giant faunus.

"W-we need to gooo!" Still trying to pull him up. Having no mood to finish the monkey bar completely. The girl raised her pointing and ring finger swiped across the air from left to right. A small cloud of dark colour opens right before her. A flat portal looming in thin air. Nula nods to Asher, motioning to follow.

Nula steps out smoothly out the other portal. Inches away from falling in the sticky pine cone pit. The girl frames towards the horizon with her hands framing like a camera. "There!" Waving her hands out, opening a new portal from the monkey bar to the edge of the ending pits. Sparing them both from the pits.

Asher Cobalt

Asher would smile a little bit letting out a small huff. “Yeah yeah im ok thought i could catch you without falling” asher replied pilling himself up with a bit of Nula help though he was VERY heavy frankly but it helped non the less. He’d happily step through the portal Nula had made form them “good going there Nula, portals never fail to impress” he’d add frankly it wasn’t empty praise they had always come in handy letting them avoid the massive pinecone pit too was just the icing on the cake for both of them. “Hopefully they put us in the same team already show our teamwork hey?” he’d add once they where finally across stretching a little bit and keeping an optimistic attitude towards it all.

Nula Aquila

"If only…" She mumbled. Looking ahead to see another gap, she frames her hands again to the edge of the other pit. Jumping won't be required. Passing through with Asher right behind.

Unfortunately, She could not portal her way through the whole thing. Nula froze and pale like a ghost. Just ahead was a runway and a couple of standby staff with makeup and clothing in their hands. The girl cannot be budged easily.

Asher Cobalt
Asher looked on seemed like they were at that halfway point where they needed to get changed and then go through the rest of the course but they also needed to take photos. “Hey don’t worry it will be over quick they just gonna take the photos before we get messy again im sure they know how to make us all look decent for whatever they need them for just don’t overthink it” he’d say with some encouragement to nula.

Nula Aquila

Seeing the makeup crew impatiently standby still won't move her an inch. It was like she was petrified to a stone statue. "I–" Sweat dripping down her temple. "umm… W-why d-d-don't you go first? …I'll follow after…"

Asher Cobalt

“Yeah don’t worry nula it will be fine trust me on this one” he’d say with a smile stepping toward and allowing the makeup crew to do there thing one of them having to get a stepladder to reach his face thanks to how tall asher was alongside ushering him to a change room quickly to make sure his outfit got changed properly and taking a casual pose for the camera before moving on but waiting for nula to go through as well hoping she would feel confident enough for it.

Nula Aquila

"W-wait! I-I take–!" Asher was quickly reeled into the makeup crew without hesitation. "...It back…"

The fabulous Faunus emerged into the walkway, albeit in a casual stride. A freshly dry cleaned suit and feathery scarf with a loud colour he adorns. "Ugh! Why did I say that!?" Stomping away from the walkway. Searching for a way around to no avail as long fingers wrapped around her arm, dragged on by a tall purple haired lady. "W-wait!" Not having the power to break free. She was tossed into the fashion.

"Next!" A yell from the camera man. Nula was shoved into the path again, wearing the same getup like everyone else. Even with the pale powder, the girl's cheeks and ears glew pink. Her knees are knocking like maracas and hands over face. A standby crew motions her to move forward to which the girl forcefully complied. Strutting with chin way too high as she rapidly paces past.

"Show me that face and strike a pose… Hun…" Said the deadpan cameraman. The lights were keeping her eyes closed but Nula did swiftly posed in three different poses. Looking down the camera. The photographer's face frowned greatly. All three photos had deliberately obscured the face. First one being Nula purposely blocking her face with peace sign, second tossing her scarf in the right timing, third angling her glasses to reflect flash back at the camera. Looking back up to the model. She is no longer in sight, dashing back to Asher.

Before Asher could comment on the girl. Nula zooms by the tall guy, her feathery scarf adding to Asher's neck nicely, while a few feathers trails behind the girl. Now diving under the barb wire. She covered a 1/4th distance headstart and crawled like her life depended on it. Crawling this fast would cost her the suit jacket slowly being torn to shreds until she reached tue great wall.

Wasting no time, she crouches, motioning a ring shape overhead. There appeared a portal, cutting the needed power and velocity to overcome the wall normally. She springs up, hopping over the wall.

Now left panting on her knees, as the red blush slowly dissipates from her face.

He was partly surprised and stunned by Nula's sudden burst of speed, guess she wanted to get out of there. The tall fanus shrugged having to go under the barbed wire himself the man took it a lot slower he was.. rather well big and that meant crawling under this would be a tight fit even more so than for most, his jacket getting pulled at by the wires, and ripping parts of it but he’d make it in due time luckily for him Nula had been kind enough to leave her portal open allowing the huge faunas to make a running leap and vaulting over the wall landing with a puff if heat to break his fall. “And we are done pretty good work I think!” He’d say with a small chuckle.

Buc Irons
He hadn't done much since he had gotten there. Between him having arrived and the sudden reveal of the academy, Buc had been scratching his head as to how he had ended up in the wrong spot. Though he was quickly reassured that this was indeed the right spot, and that they had to run an obstacle course before being given their room. Now, Buc was no stranger to obstacle courses, but did they really have to do this as soon as he got there? Couldn't they have waited a day or two? Given them some food and a commons room to sleep in to let them settle in a bit before throwing them out and telling them to start running?

But he didn't mope for long, the course wouldn't run itself. He found it, for the most part, fairly easy. The monkey bars gave him some problems, due in no small part to his antlers getting in his way, but he did manage to cross them, his antlers occasionally dinging against the metal of the bars. The catwalk gave him some pause. He was no stranger to getting his photo taken, but that was as Blachart, not Buc. Though once he was thrown into a costume and ushered his way down the walk, he did relax slightly, even going as far as posing slightly, giving a quick sign of the horns for the cameras before dashing off to crawl under the barbwire, his antlers once more proving to be a nuisance but not much past that.

"I... N-need to work out... More..." Lifting herself back up to look into the Academy. Just floating peacefully across the clouds, looming over almost like a castle in the sky. Nula could only sigh deeply at the beauty of the school. "We barely even get to step foot in Beacon yet. And there's already a course... I hope this is just a warm-up and nothing more..." She mumbles to herself. Brushing the dirt off her red pleated skirt and patting some away from her black leggings. The girl barely noticed that her legs just strayed away from the finish line, avoiding passing participants. Assuming Asher would follow to at least clear out from the finish line.

Removing her glasses to wipe any filth that caught on to her only access to vision. It wouldn't take long to collide with another student from all the sidestepping. "Eeep!" Something fast and furred, Almost like a tail, brushed her neck causing her fingers to slip her glasses. "Oh no! I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to--!" Even without glasses, she can tell she bumped into someone tall based on the blurry back they have, followed by a blush of white just sticking like cotton. Nula's glasses were abit farther ahead, causing her to pat down on her knees, rapidly looking for some large round spectacles.

Opal made fairly quick time across the hurdles her long tail, being used to sling herself over and above them, with relative ease same with the tall wall somersaulting over it using her tail once again as a big string hell she wasn't really thinking just running forward she couldn't be last no no if she was she'd probably get kicked out hell that would be so bad if she got expelled on the first day because she couldn't finish the course. the next obstacle was the monkey bars her hair snakes being used to sling herself across them with once again surprising ease however once she got to the makeup and photo shoot it took.. alot longer her hair almost attacking some of the staff as she got surprised a few times anxieties filling her with the need to keep going.. she managed to pose nicly for the photo tho before.. faceplanting into the pinecones.. ouch that wasn't the most fun experience to drag herself through especially with how sticky they where least the barbwire wasn't that bad but hey.. she made it.. flopping onto the ground with a big sigh. "did it.."

By the time the pair had crossed the finish line, Shujin had rolled his shoulders ever so slightly as he stretched his arms from one side to the other. Now what were they supposed to do, sure, they were given the task to run the obstacle course by the headmaster of the academy but it wasn't like they were given much instructions after that. Crossing his arms while his small snow leopard companion continued to cling onto one of his shoulders, Shujin had simply crossed his arms only to take the opportunity to observe his surroundings and the fellow students that had either passed the course with significant ease as he did while some appeared to had struggled to make their way through just by the sight of their dirtied clothing as a clear sign of still needing training.

During his observation of his surroundings, neither he nor Yumi had taken notice as to when another individual had began to approach them from behind. While during his time with the White Fang, he was constantly taught to never allow himself to be caught off guard in such a way, the moment someone had ended up bumping into him from behind, Shujin had felt as he nearly jumped out of his skin, almost prepared to swing his arm behind to strike whoever had bumped him in self-defense only to find that when he had turned it had been a young looking female who was now in search for her glasses that had fallen to the grass.

"Huh-?" Taking notice as to how the female searched for her glasses on the floor, Yumi was quick to notice said eyewear before hopping off Shujin's shoulders. The sight of something as shiny as it was on the ground being caught by her large round eyes as she approached the eyewear only to pat it with her paws several times as though she had been curious as to what it was.
Of course, the moment his companion had released him, Shujin was quick to turn and watch as to where Yumi had gone. The sight of her playing with the glasses that the female was no doubt in search for only had caused him to shake his head following a low chuckle. "Hm? What you got there Yumi?" Questioning his companion who only brought her attention up towards him in response; the moment Shujin had picked up the glasses, he'd brush the lens with against his silk top lightly before returning to the practically blinded female who had been in search for the very spectacles he now held in hand. "Here. I think you dropped this..." As he spoke, Shujin extended out his hand with said glasses in hand in front of the female as close as he possibly could towards her just so that she would not possibly miss them rather than awkwardly be putting the glasses onto her own face, especially when it was towards a complete stranger, and a human nonetheless.

Weldon barely had time to register the names of his three fellow students, Zeki, Shujin, and Yuuki apparently, before the school suddenly appeared. Now that was one hell of a trick! The headmaster then gave the spiel on their initiation process, which Weldon was more than a bit confused by. That was it? No fighting Grimm, no orienteering exercise, just a basic obstacle course. Sure, he had already taken an academic test and undergone a combat evaluation, but surely they at least wanted to make sure no one had falsified their transcript. He was so lost in these thoughts that it took him a moment to register that the absurd ritual had begun. Well, shit guess he had no choice but to do the stupid thing.

The hurdles weren't too challenging, nor were the monkey bars. The two gaps would require some precision to make sure that he didn't overjump the acorns and end up in the mud by mistake. Weldon gave himself a bit of a running start and made it over the acorns without incident. If only one could say the same about the muddy gap, which he just barely missed the edge of, resulting in him getting mud on his shoes and the hem of his pants. One of those shoes cost more than the material for this entire course! Suffice it to say he was in a sour mood when they put him in a cheap suit jacket and feathered boa before powdering his face with equally cheap makeup. He walked down the runway where he forced himself to give the camera finger guns.

After that ordeal, he was finally in the home stretch. Weldon, thankfully, wouldn't be getting any more mud on his clothes as the barbed wire was casting overlapping shadows on the ground allowing him to use his semblance to go from a toe under the entrance of the barbed to a heel underneath the exit in a fraction of the time it would have taken him to crawl across the ground. Last was a wall that he scaled up one side of before jumping off the top of it and finishing the course.

Finally done with the stupid obstacle course he took the jacket and boa off and went over to the fountain to wash the powder off of his face.

Jack A. Lope
Jack didn't exactly have a lot of time to get situated when the academy suddenly appeared and they were told to do a quick obstacle course. Of course, he didn't mind doing the obstacle course, he breezed right through it thanks in no small part to his semblance. With it's help, he launched his way over obstacles, swung the bars three at a time, rocked the catwalk with a fedora and nice suit jacket, and pushed the barbed wire away from him so he wouldn't ruin his new clothes. Though, when he thought about it, they might want them back. But then he saw how ruined they were on most of the other students, and decided that the school would not be wanting these back. Which was fine by him, he needed a nice suit and tie for those special occasions, even if both were a little on the tacky side.

That's when he looked around and realized, he was one of if not the last ones across the finish line. "Hmm," he hummed as he thought about the potential consequences this would cause. Perhaps he would be put into a group of other like minded and slow peers, or perhaps they'd put him with those with some of the fastest times to sort of balance it all out. Surely they wouldn't expel him, not after they had accepted him into the school and took his money, not just a day in anyways.

Still as the plants around her. Nula stops to listen to the tall blurry figure speaking rather to someone else. His voice was more elegant and with gruff of fierceness, perhaps a small tone of coldness to it also. Nula hugs herself from the figure slowly approaching her.

"Hueh?" Leaning closer to squint at the arm of the figure. At first, completely missing at the hand. Grabbing the well-toned forearm, to his wrists, then down to the elegant hand. Where he holds her vision. "Thank y-you." She whispered before wriggling her glasses and regaining her vision, Nula's already round eyes emphasized further by her spectacles.

Now with a clear view, The taller student's face is clear. Green emerald eyes, sharp to leer through the soul, and rich volume of hair locks, braided to the side. It is almost like gazing into an elvish being. Shaking off the bewildered look on her face. She stood upright, patting dirt away from her knees. "I really should look out where I am g-going - I'm Sorry..." Her cheeks blushed pink, unable to remain eye to eye. Not can be said the same when she locks her eye upon an "N-nice... Panthera Uncia cub..." Weakly greeting the Snow leopard cub with a small wave. She would remain in eye contact with the small exotic furry creature until they returned next to presumably their owner.

"A-are they yours?" Asking a question to prevent stalling her own awkward silence, closing her eyes from the realization of her own question. Looking around to spot Asher, who is nearby only giving them a worried gaze before returning to the cub owner. "Wonderful o-obst-tacle course weather we're having, h-huh?" Twiddling her fingers before giving one more quick glance back to the tallest horned Faunus just on standby.

Asher of coursed followed nula away from the end of the course stretching a little bit and having to scratch his chin.. that was a bit of a workout he had to agree though he didn't understand why they made them ruin perfectly good uniforms seemed like Vos was just trolling. "yeah that was a little crazy seemed just.. off you know" asher commented with a small huff that was when Nula ran into someone else by accident as she was cleaning her glasses a small tiger cub having grabbed her glasses and started playing with them it was strange and amusing.. tho he couldn't remember seeing a little cub like that so it was a bit strange. however, the owner of the little cat soon revealed himself handing the glasses back to Nula, asher walking up beside his much smaller friend. "sup adorable little kitten hey? seems like the cheeky sort taking glasses from people" he'd comment with a smirk

Throughout the entirety of the time that Shujin had kept his arm extended with the spectacles in his hand, he remained still even when the practically blinded female held his arm and eventually moved down towards his wrist and finally to his palm where she grabbed her glasses before finally returning them to her face once more. Even when she had thanked him, his only response had simply been a nod of his head. Eventually shaking his head towards her apology, Shujin's gaze was soon brought down towards his little furry companion Yumi, who at this point in time been staring up at the young female while seated on the grassy floor at his feet.

The moment she had waved towards the cub, the small animal would quickly hop back up onto all fours before scurrying to hide behind Shujin's legs only to peak around and continue staring and blinking at the female until another male had approached the duo. "Indeed, she's my pet--...I mean partner." Making sure to quickly correct his wording since he was well aware of how much Yumi hated being considered a 'pet'.
Taking notice right after as to how the female seem to be in search of someone immediately after before attempting to make small talk by bringing up the subject regarding the weather and the course they had just done. Just before Shujin was about to answer and attempt to continue the conversation, even if he wasn't sure how he was going to go about this, the other male that approached the duo spoke up about how Yumi was one to take other people's glasses.

Hearing this response from a stranger, Shujin's piercing emerald hues quickly shifted from that of the female over towards the other male before raising a brow. "She dropped her glasses. Yumi did not take them. Please do not make that mistake between the two. Yumi did nothing wrong." Making sure to make eye contact with the other male as he spoke his comment, Shujin was quick to lift his small snow leopard cub back into his arms before letting the small animal help herself to cling to his shoulder from behind yet again. "Anyway...it is pleasure to meet you both. I am Shujin Yagami, I do hope we shall all get along." As he introduced himself to the two strangers before him, Shujin attempted to be as kind as he possibly could be without seeming too stern as he was not exactly prepared for any form of confrontational greeting after only just meeting one of his fellow students.

With the two Faunus standing side by side beside her. She could easily mark their towering appearances. Even with fashion and face value, those hands are in no way soft. Clearing the course for them was just a mere warmup. They were as fit as the Mantle cadets, just imagining the thought of dueling against someone like Shuijin or Asher is enough for her to visibly shudder. Luckily they are on Beacon's enrollment list.

The snow Leopard cub has caught her eyes again. She was curious about her surroundings, sniffing and gazing at the ground at the folks. Finding herself someone locked into the cat. Her name is Yumi.
"I'm sorry. It's my fault... I sh-should have seen where I was going." Twiddling thumbs and head drooped low. "I-It won't happen again... I-I'm Nula." The girl muttered audibly. Refusing to say anything else for a brief moment.
Seems that judging by the looks of it. This is pretty much the course, although one cannot be too sure. She did find two more folks on standby at a good distance. One that appears to be another faunus and a girl with pink hair, both carrying themselves with confidence, even in idle. Are weapons even allowed in the course? Do they just accept just about anyone here?
"I-Is it okay to ask? Where did you and Yumi meet?" Tilting her head with hands hidden deep in her green varsity jacket.

Rosalia had simply kept to herself, as she had finished the course in a few minutes. She didn’t really have much to do anymore at this point and was waiting for the headmaster. Rosalia in her boredom, pulled out a book which held the words, Crime and Hunter.

For the moment the Mafia princess was in her own domain, with the everlasting confidence she held herself to, but that silence was broken as she felt someone watching her. Rosalia dropped her book down slightly, before using the movement of her eyes disguised as a reading movement to scan the area.

‘A spy? No, that’s unlikely. They don’t know my new identity or this location. Could be a rival, after all I did finish rather quickly.’ The Mafia Princess questioned to herself before tracking down the location of the gaze, which was a mousy, small girl. Rosalia, looking at her and read her, realizing that she wasn’t a threat and a rival she have a grin and waved towards her, before going back to her book.

1934d8ea49a960c6002536708da6c2e9.jpg At last, all of the pine cones have been removed at the price of her clothes including her favorite cloak. Her grandmother used the same cloth her mother once wore. Sangriella sighs and tugs her hood lower to cover her face. Her attention diverts to Soleil's greeting. It's surprising the blonde even bothered to approach her after the earlier incident. "Oh, hello! The test was...interesting. I thought it would be easy, but I failed to stick the landing and from there it went downhill. Not my greatest moment." She nervously chuckled recalling every mistake made a long the course. It was one embarrassing issue after another. "You were amazing out there. It's like you were in the zone. It inspired me to do the same, but it didn't go so well." She turns to Myst, "Why didn't you do the course? I'm not sure if you'll be forced to redo it, but the teachers didn't seem bothered, weirdly. Your pose was cool though. It was like staring at a knight in shining armor. Literally."

Soleil's comment on her appearance makes her shrink in her seat causing her use her cloak to hide the rest of her figure. "Y-yes, I would, thank you." She sat in silence for a minute before Myst asked her about her aura. "My what? Oh...I-um forgot to use it?" She responded more of a question than an answer. It was half a lie as she didn't know how to use aura for the fact that she is a late bloomer with no semblance. For a long time Sangriella has been on her own without learning to use semblance even when it's an important basic to learn. She watches as Myst leans her hand closer. She can sense energy radiating from her. "What are you doing?" The chances of healing affecting Sangriella are slim without the activation of her aura.

Myst still didn't fully get why others didn't quite get that the headmaster likely knew of all their skills and that a course this simple was hardly a test so it had to be a distraction. Something like letting out a bunch of grimm or some kind or capture the flag type game would be a more fitting test than something even civilians could do. the only thing that stood out was the photo section, which made no sense if this was a test and the head master was quite eccentric. Likely he already knew everything about everyone's capabilities and that was why they where here and the course was simple him messing with them. So Myst had simply skipped to the part the headmaster likely only cared about the photos.

" Only photos mattered " Myst said as if that actually answered anything to anyone but here.

The question of the girl's aura was odd someone without Aura got in? No she had said she had it just not activated it which was odd that was something everyone was taught in combat schools. Well the headmaster should already know this so Sangriella should have some form of talent that he saw in her. That was another reason that the course seemed to Myst to be a distraction. Myst decided to channel a bit of her aura into Sangriella just incase the girl was only pretending to have activated it before and also pushing in aura tended to triggers the person's to react. With that even if Sangriella didn't turn her aura on there should be enough from Myst herself to heal the injuries.

" It protect, and heals us " Myst answered though that was something just about anyone could tell you about aura. This of course wouldn't explain to anyone but her just what her semblance did or that she was using it, though Myst in her own mind thought it did as she was boosting any healing done so the change should be noticeable.

bd626a424709dcd93809c5a189dc9be3.jpgOne by one, the students sprinted for the finish line. Each of them pass through every obstacle as though they have trained in the course a thousand times. Of course, some struggled. A reminder of the difference between the skilled, and the hard workers. An unfortunate sight, and a much harsher reality the most prodigious rank up to be exemplary hunters or huntresses. However, it is not what Principal Blanche is searching for. He personally invited the students for different reasons. He saw untapped potential in their profiles. The amount of research he did confirm those truly worthy, and assist in harnessing their prowess.

What Blanche witnessed on the course was unlike anything he had seen before. Violeta sprung into action first by using dust crystals to get across. They effortlessly finished without a scratch. To Blanche, it showed quick thinking, using what she has to her advantage. “Impressive. He noted. Next, Silver proved to be confidence in her physicality to carry herself, and possibly her teammates. Soleil also exhibited excellent strength, and agility. What was an amazing sight was the ability for Soleil to jump high. Whether it was the Faunus’ genetics or merely practice did not matter. For Blanche, it’s a great quality to have that will demonstrate it’s usefulness in sticky situations. Though, Soleil’s runway was less outstanding as the boy was practically pale from fright. “Not a fan of attention, I see.” Blanche mused. “Not surprising considering he seems like the stealthy type.”

Sangriella was up next. Her display was anything less than incredible. She quickly made a mistake by being the only one to fall into the acorns. Because of this, it caused her entire turn to be a disaster. Admitting, she persevered regardless of the challenge. Her ambition to move forward regardless of the circumstances can be considered another good trait. To inspire and push through even the most difficult is leadership material. Blanche was chortling at the fact the girl fell off the runway, thus earning her points. Myst for Blanche was a perplexing type. Rather than do the course, she went around onto the runway where she glittered bright in what appeared to be armor. “Points for fashion.” Blanche chirped. “He can admire someone flamboyant, especially knights, but they must also be honorable. While Myst did not show obedience, it woud certainly be an issue if she were to continue. Still, in some way, the obstacle course did not matter except for the photos as they are meant for identification purposes. In truth, it is a layout to see how each student interacts with the course and evaluate their thought process. In Myst’s case, to others, she may seem carefree but for Blanche she granted her kudos for assessing her situation before executing her decision. Calm and collected like a person with a shield playing defense would do for the sake of their team.

Nula and Asher were a curious pair. He recalled from the profile they would fall behind with their training because of Nula’s timidness and Asher’s refusal to leave her behind, but from Blanche can see, they were a perfect duo. The way they harmonize by helping each other. Opposites attracted to balance each other. “Tweedle Dee needs Tweedle-Dum.” Opal was resourceful, using her snakes to get across with no time to spare. It wasn’t a surprise she would pass with flying colors given her snakes could do the majority of the work. That would be Opal’s downfall unless she utilizes her limbs as well.

Lastly, Weldon stood in silence for a while before he realized the challenge had started. Much like the others, he moved with ease through the course. He seemed irritated by the time he reached the runway though what intrigued Blanche was his capability to put on a smile. It provided how Weldon can be level-head to some extent. Knowing his duty regardless how much he distastes his objective. After the runway, Weldon used his semblance to sneak across the barbed wire. “Cunning.” Blanche commented. The rest of the group did great. They completed with no issues.

Now that everyone has finished the course, it is time to sort out teams. Thankfully, Blanche had taken a mental note, keeping tabs and choosing who would best fit where. The blonde gathers the students together for announcements around a digital, mobile screen. He clears his throat and stands beside it. “Listen up, everyone! You’ve all done a wonderful job. Some of you are probably questioning how that is possible, but I assure you it is the truth. You see, the course was simply a large obstacle to help me determine your skills. The runway was somewhat necessary as the photos will be used as your ID. Want to change it? Too bad. You can't.” Blanche chuckled. “Anyway, it is time to announce teams. Starting with team S.S.Y.Z.” Blanche clicks the display to show the teen’s profile and the way it's written. “Sangriella Marigold, Soleil Raes, Yuuki Kousei, and Zeki Myron. Your leader will be Sangriella Marigold. While your performance was terrible, Sangriella, you showed ambition to moved forward even through the toughest part of the course. Leadership requires one to see things through to the end.” His eyes gloss over the second group as he taps the next slide. “Team S.S.A.N, will be Shujin Yagami, Silver Yukiumi, Asher Cobalt and Nula Aquila. Your leader is Shujin.”

Blanche moves to the final slide to reveal the third team. “Team P.W.T.O. will consist of Violeta Pyrite, Weldon Earl, Myst Real and Opal Morningside. Weldon and Violeta, both of you were excellent in the course which made it hard to decide which one of you would be the leader. However, Violeta showed how clever she can be in tough situations. Therefore, Violeta is your leader.” At last, school is ready to take in the new generation and bring forth one strong enough to defend humanity.

“With teams now finalized, you will be able to retire to your dorm rooms. Inside there is a chest on each bed frame. Inside you may stash your belongings away, but most importantly your school uniforms will be inside. Be sure to wear them when school starts on Monday. It's absolutely mandatory.” Blanche stressed over the last part. The school has to be prim and proper like his father would have done. “Your ID is your key card. I have sent them to your scrolls. Please don't lose them. Off you go. The cafeteria will be open for you. Be sure to eat dinner before bed. There will be no midnight snacking otherwise.” The blonde bows to the group. “And welcome to Beacon Academy.” With that, the principal dismisses everyone to do whatever they wanted for the evening.
