Haven Academy, Mistral. Approximately 6 years prior to the events of RWBY.

Criminals and thugs have always plagued the cities of Mistral but now with the recent rise in White Fang activity in the region as well as the rise of a familiar crime lord with the help of his budding apprentice, the Grim have become the least of anyones' worries. Order is kept for now but if nothing is done soon, it will be too late to save Haven or her people.

It's the start of a new year for another group of Hunstmen and Huntresses to be and they will have to step up to become the finest warriors yet if they hope to be the heroes they need to be.

Good luck, good health and good hunting.

( Alrighty let's get this started! )

The morning was fair and cloudless over Haven Academy, new students having arrived earlier have just finished orientation and are now getting ready at the initiation grounds where they will be placed in their teams and meet the people that will fight beside them the rest of their careers as Huntsmen and Huntresses.

Headmaster Roland, a 40-something year old man with the spirit of a man half his age awaited the fledgling warriors to form a half circle around him.

"You will notice numerous metal plates on the ground around you, I would ask you all to stand on one now." He commanded in a booming voice, the metal plates littered about the grassy knoll not 20 feet from the main buildings. The awaiting plates were emblazoned with Haven Academy's logo.

"You will be sent to various locations around Mistral, the swampland, city and rural areas you will arrive at will be teaming with bandits and Grim so keep on your toes at all times!" Roland paused a moment to make sure his warning sunk in before continuing,

"Stick with your fellows students as you come across each other, the first 3 other students you meet will become your teammates for the rest of your time here. Lastly, your mission today is to collect and steal a large silver chest piece like this," the headmaster held up a metallic horse-head with a shiny base to the students.

"Where the pieces are, is up to you to find out but your best bet is in the hands of our dear nation's various crimes bosses, mobsters and if you're lucky a den of Grim! So good luck to you all, may you all return safely."

With a satisfied nod the first plate swung down plunging the person above into what seemed like an endless pit with a gust of wind before snapping shut. Underneath much of Mistral was an air tube delivery system rigged from these plates to launch sites in various unsavory areas.

Ky hadn't really been listening at all, and he refused to ask for help. The orientation flew by for him, as he loaded and polished his precious M1911 handguns. He stood where he was told to stand, and looked over to his left, hearing screams. He looked over, and saw people shooting down into the ground. His eyes widened, and he fell into the pit, dropping his handguns as soon as he fell. He shot out of the ground in a cave, followed by his handguns. He looked around, and grabbed one of his handguns, before looking for the other one frantically. He walked to the eye of the cave, where he saw a cliff, and heard something landing on the ground, with a poof. He looked for another way down. Ky turned around, and saw an Ursa sprinting towards him. He shot twice, but it still came after him. He looked back, and jumped, with a scream. He tumbled down the mountain, holding a cut on his arm, as his aura had broken from the fall. He grabbed his handgun with the wounded arm, and put pressure on the wound with his good arm. He sighed a bit, and walked around, looking for someone who could help.

Ivory was in the middle of the crowd, no where to far or to close that made her stand out of place. She stood straight, but it didn't make her taller than anyone else, and silent. Listening to the orientation and taking in their task at hand. She took a stand on one of the plates preparing herself for what was to come, but the sudden drop was nothing she was expecting. Landing on her rear in a spot of grass, she was off gaurd, and could only seem to look around and take in the sights. Slowly, she stood up and continued to watch, dusting herself off; her arms reached behind her and took her short swords in hand. Ivory stood in the grass and did more a scan of her surroundings, in the near distance she saw a figure standing at the eye of a cave; things seemed to move fast from them. An Ursa came from almost no where and a few shots were fired before the figure rolled down the mountain.

It was an uncharacteristic instinct, Ivory started to run down the mountain side after the figure in sudden spite. She didn't feel worn from the run, but rather unable to control her speed on such a down hill incline. Her feet stumbled a little and fell to her knees in a stop before the figue. She looked up at him, to see he was holding his shoulder, but didn't make much of a notion to it and simply nodded to him in greeting before standing up and gripping her weapons in hand. He didn't look like her first choice of a team mate, but whether she liked it or not they were now stuck companions.

Sable grinned at the thought of dens of Grimm, and took a confident step forward. She proceeded to loose her footing and whoosh into the ground.

Whoops.

After the soil had finished shooting past her, the tube spat her out, on her butt, in some sort of tunnel. A cavern, maybe, judging by the stalactites hanging down from the top. She checked to make sure she was all in one piece, and slowly got up. Poor lighting, she noticed, and it was rocky underfoot. It'd be hard to shoot here. She tentatively raised her massive gun and looked around.

As a Beowulf jumped out of the shadows, she remembered that was what Semper Fi's whip form was for. She made a dash backwards, and raised the friction of the area around her so that the malformed creature slipped when it landed. It stumbled getting up, giving her time to unfold her weapon into something long and limber that could safely operate close-range. She gave the Beowulf a quick few stinging swings with her whip, spinning into the blows, and with a final crack, she swept it safely several meters away. She refolded her weapon, stared through the sight, and unloaded two .50-caliber bullets into the Grimm's head.

"Whew. Close one." Slinging Semper Fidelis onto her back, she made a straight way out to the mouth of the cave, lumbering uphill. Semper Fi was about as tall as she was, and about half her weight, so it wasn't a pleasant journey. When she got out, she noticed a mountainous hill that a human and a Faunus stood at the base of. "Hey!" she called as she walked over to the edge. "Anybody got a grappling hook, or should I just blow a way down?"

@Boe

Ky noticed some steps behind him... He looked around, and saw nothing... He looked back towards the woods in front of him, and saw a girl kneeling there. He removed his hand from his shoulder, to see how much blood was there. It was gushing out blood... He quickly put his hand back, and gripped his gun, "Lets go..." He said quietly, sounding more pissed than anything else. He walked into the thick woods without a second thought, not waiting for her. He turned around quickly, hearing a voice. "Don't jump." He yelled back, in a monotone voice. He waved with his bloody hand, showing her what happened. @Syrina @Mollisol

Ivory looked him over again, this time with more judgment when he commanded her with a 'Lets go..'. Her eyes rolled and she didn't feel like saying anything at this moment and time, instead her head turned to see a girl calling to them. Ivory simply stood there watching the girl, whether she jumped or they went back to help her didn't really matter to her at this point. She looked back on Ky, he seemed to want to play commander at this point and time, waiting to see if he wanted to help the girl get down to them. She watched him hold his hand up, which was red and bloody, and she groaned.

Ivory pulled him by the shirt back towards the cliff to help the girl and bandage this kid up. She had a small satchel on her and started to dig through it, though she wasn't going to mention it her grandmother had packed it for her. She pulled out a rope, hoping it would be good enough, and tied on of her swords to it for weight, before swinging it around and releasing it up to the girl. While they waited for the girl to climb down, Ivory continued to search for a med-kit and pulled out a sandwich and planted it in the boy's hand before pulling his fingers off the wound and working on it herself.

Ky groaned a bit, and slapped her hand away, "Woman, I don't need help, okay?" He sounded in pain, as his wound bled more. He obviously needed help, but he refused to take it from anyone but himself. He handed her the sandwich back, confused on why she gave it to him. He looked over, to see a Beowulf sprinting at them. He lifted his wounded arm, and shot three times, with a 'Fire' Dust clip in his handgun. The shots exploded on impact, and the whimpy Beowulf was killed on the second shot. It was a small Grim, so it was understandable. He slowly walked around, looking for his other handgun. @Syrina @Mollisol

Sable shrugged, squinting her remaining eye at the pair and what appeared to be a bloodied hand. Broken aura? Damn. Now she'd have to protect him. "Blow a way down, it is. Big noise, people, get ready." She ejected Semper Fi's bullet clip and replaced it with an explosive charge. Stepping back to the mouth of the cave, she aimed at a particularly fragile-looking section of soil, and pulled the trigger.

There was a brief second before a massive boom rocked the soggy, hilly landscape, and a steep rift was blown in the hillside. Dirt was blown into the air and settled below and around the rift. Replacing her rifle on her back, she jumped into the rift and slid down the hill with a whoop of joy. When she stood up, she dusted the brownish dirt and newly-dried grass off of her uniform.

She saw a Beowulf running at them (another one? they did not quit), and put her hands on Semper Fi. There was a spray of fire, and it collapsed in a heap of ash in front of her as quickly as it had appeared. Not bad, not bad. She wondered what tricks the girl had up her sleeve, though - those were some mean-looking daggers, she thought as she relaxed her hands and approached the duo.

"Hey guys." She picked something shiny up off the ground, and upon realizing what it was, kicked it over to the guy, who seemed to be looking for something. "This yours? And did either of you see anything from the top of the mountain in regards to where we need to go? Because I saw something through the corner of Semper Fi's. A building in the swampier hills... that way." She blinked, waiting for them to respond. "Actually, where are my manners? My name's Sable. What can I call you?"

@Boe @Syrina

A small growl came from Ivory's throat, and she was about to take his arm again but he seemed to pull up his hand and empty the clip out. Her head turned to see a Beowulf collapsed on the ground and Sable looking at it as well. Ivory didn't hold much interest and grabbed Ky's arm again, more forcefully, "Hold still." She commanded, her voice was quiet but had a hard edge to it. She cleaned away at the wound before wrapping it, it was hard to tell whether it needed stitches or not at this point and time but there wasn't anything she could do about it.

Ivory had her back faced to the girl, who seem a bit chirpy and ready to be bestfriends with everyone. Her eyes rolled a little as she finished up with Ky's wound and smacked him on the shoulder a little, like it would toughen him up a bit more. She slowly put her things back in her back before turning to the girl and pushing a peice of her hair out of her own face. She stood silently for a moment before letting out a small breath, "They call me Ivory.. And I don't know who he is." Her voice was a bit monotone and bored with the subject, almost ready for some orders just to get a move on.

@Boe @Mollisol

Ky covered his ears when the girl shot, his eyes wide, as he watched what the bullet did. He clapped a bit, before continuing the search for his handgun. He didn't listen to her at all, until she kicked his gun over to him, "Thanks." He said grumpily, before picking it up, and looking for marks. The metal was scratched a bit, but it wasn't too bad. He brushed the dirt off, and put the gun away. He still had yet to pick a name for the handguns... They were generally new. He made them himself just short of a few months ago.

Ky winced a bit as she grabbed his arm, he tried to pull her away, but it didn't work. "Ugh... Why'd I have to get stuck on a team with you..." He said angrily, as she finished wrapping up his wound. He wiped the blood from his hand off on his pants, and turned to face her. She punched his shoulder lightly, and he glared at her, with a annoyed face.

Ky's attention turned to Sable, who'd just asked what his name was, "I'm Ky." He turned to the other girl, who sounded very bitchy while referring to him, "Ass." He said quietly, just loud enough for her to hear. He turned to a large rock next to the cliff, and sat down on it, reloading his handguns. "Hey... Can you guys think of any good names for my guns?" He asked, his gaze still fixed on the weapon in his lap. @Mollisol @Syrina

Sable was less interested in the rude boy's question than she was in scanning the area for Grimm and other potential threats, and marginally less interested in the girl considering that she didn't seem happy to be here at all. "Good to meet'cha. I take it from your silence that you haven't seen anything more important-looking. Well, I have, so..." she decided on carrying Semper Fi with her long-distance, as it wouldn't be hell on her back. "Let's get a move on." She picked a final piece of grass off of her armband before putting both hands on Semper Fi, and hoisting it in the direction she was walking (east, her rural senses told her), checking only once to see if the other two were behind her.

The further they got, the swampier the ground became, and the more thankful Sable became that she was wading in outdoor boots and not the pumps her mother suggested were appropriate for the big city. Finally, when they were knee-deep in swamp water, the outline of a squat, gray building became visible in the distance. So did the outline of a swarm of Bullheads.

"Thank goodness. I was getting bored," Sable said with a grin. She cocked Semper Fi, and blew a charge in the general direction of the swarm. The majority went flying, leaving only a few handfuls of stragglers hopping over, plus the few that had survived the blast righting themselves. "Ready?" she said over the Grimms' chittering as she unfolded her weapon into a component whip.

(Where would be a good place for our teammates to meet, @Deltorian Nephran ? Feel like coming up out of the blue to help us out?)

Aqua listened to every single word that Headmaster Roland said. The heir fixed his perfect blue hair after noticing a few hairs sticking out. After making sure his hair was fine, he looked to his left to see people falling down in the ground. "... Uh-oh." He muttered, soon falling down in the ground as well. Needless to say, he was terrified, but he maintained his composure as he was falling down the tube. Soon enough, he found himself in a mob.

Celia had already taken down the mobsters around her as the final part of her jaw breaker dissolved. She put her gloves back on with a snap of the elastic. It was an easy time but others had looked at her weirdly before she had been launched into the tubes. She grabbed the collar of her jacket and flicked it forward so the collar popped up.

Ivory let out a scoff at Ky's rude words, "Your welcome.." She said quietly and under her breath, his arm would have become infected with all the dirt he had been rolling around in if it wasn't for her. Sable seemed ready to go, and Ivory didn't feel like doing anymore kind hearted jestures. She started following behind Sable, not waiting for anyone else. Slipping her short swords into their sheaths as they walked, the further they walked the less stable the ground became until they were finally knee deep in brown water.

Ivory tried to hold herself together, but the mud was all and gross as it squished unterneath her feet. Sable seem to perk up at the sight of the Grimm, Ivory wasn't as extatic and took a small side step incase Ky was more interested. Her arm reached back and pulled out one of her swords, pointing it downwards her fingers traced just below the hilt and popped out a small short range detonator; it would take out one or two Grimm, four if they were all close together.

Aqua looks around at the fallen mobsters before seeing a beautiful light-purple haired woman with gloves. A blush instantly entered his cheeks. Dang it... why do beautiful women have to be such a huge weakness of mine!? Aqua thought in his head before walking up to her.

"Hey! Who said you were the leader!" Ky exclaimed angrily, as he reluctantly followed the girls. He ranted for a bit, but stopped when he saw the Grimm. He whipped out his handguns, and began firing ice rounds into their legs, forming ice around them. He laughed hysterically, as he watched them trip over one another. He switched out his mags for fire Dust mags, and shot all of the Grimm that had fallen, killing a good 7 or 8. His dying cooled, and he saw a chance to claim his place as leader. He holstered his pistols, and ran around the hoard, to the grey building Sabre had seen earlier. He ran inside, and found a table, with a Chess piece in the center, a pawn. He frowned at the thought of getting a pawn, but took it in the end. He was about to walk outside, when he heard the flapping of wings. He looked outside, and saw a Nevermore. He ran out, underneath it, and took out his M1911 Handguns. He shot the underside multiple times, thinking his weapons were still set to ice. The blazing explosion from the Fire Dust rounds sent him skidding through the dirt painfully. He gripped his shoulder, and got up, still holding one of his handguns. He backed away slowly, shooting it every few seconds, until he ran out of ammo.

Celia looked slightly behind her with only moving her head while her body faced forward. She sighed as she motioned with her head for the guy to come on. "Come over or get left behind...... You decide..." She said as she started to walk forward. She put a piece of gum into her mouth and started chewing and blowing bubbles. She knew where the mob boss was already thanks to her 'interrogation' with one of the mobsters. She was heading there straight away. She had taken her gloves off and put them into her pocket. She was not going to need them for a bit. She had a bag of strange looking candy attached to her side.

"... I'll... I'll come over." Aqua decided as he walked toward her. When the girl got a good look at him, she saw that he had blue hair that covered his left eye, a black jacket with a white undershirt, black pants, brown loafers and black socks, as well as a blue bowtie on his jacket. He also had a golden sheathe on his back and black gloves. The most interesting thing she saw was that he had a white headband around his head.

Celia noticed him as they walked."What are you... some kind of richy?" She asked with a sigh. She did not like it when people flaunted around money like it was a waste to them. "Listen.... If you are, do not think for a second you can buy my support and respect with money..." She said as she instantly drew one of her machine guns and shot a Mobster that was jumping at them from the side. It looked like she was not even looking at the direction he came from. She placed the gun back into her pocket where it turned into a glove again. "You got to earn that stuff"

"Nice," Sable said sincerely as the other two made short work of the Grimm. She gave the final straggler a quick crack with her whip, then looked up to see Ky running ahead, his Faunus legs carrying him faster than her boots could. The hell was he going? And how did he come out of that building alive?

Her questions remained unanswered as a Nevermore swooped in, and Ky mag-dumped some fire dust into it before he sent himself flying. "Nice," she said sarcastically, as she modified the friction of the swampy ground so she could run without being stuck in the mud. She refolded her weapon, and with a single charge, shot the injured, burning Grimm out of the sky. Ivory could more than take care of it with those swords and bombs.

Releasing the swamp floor from her semblance, Sable noticed something hard under her boots. She rolled up her sleeve and reached down to find... a chess piece? It looked like a pawn. "Well would you look at this," she said flatly. "It's mine now."

Aqua glared at her due to the fact that she literally just judged him without getting to know him. He hated it when people did that... "Just so you know, while I am rich, I'm not the type of person who just flaunts around money. I know that I have to earn your respect and support, and I don't need you to tell me how to do that." Aqua said, crossing his arms and looking away. The fact that she judged him didn't make him angry. In fact, emotionally, it hurt him very badly. He sighed a bit.

"Sorry...." She said without looking at him. "But you can thank all the others for putting the thought you all do that in my mind" Sh just faced forward as she walked. Although she had her rep to uphold, she recognized when she made a mistake.

Aqua sees a Mobster about to attack him, so he got out his laser-sword, Blue Flame, and stabs the Mobster and then kicks the Mobster away, putting his sword back in his sheath.

Naga's day was really shitty. Not only was the fact that he had been dragged away from his morning wake ritual of downing three cups of coffee and sitting in the sun for half an hour, he now had to do things. He was almost at the point where he would have faked being awake by closing his clear eyelids. Standing half asleep on the platform, he wondered who he was going to meet and where he was going to land face first in. The later was answered in a matter of seconds when he was launched off into the distance. As he soared above the world, with absolutely no grace, Naga screamed out something that he had on his mind, "Draco... This is what you have made me do!"

Almost landing face first in a tree, Naga was glad that his Semblance had saved him. Looking at his surroundings while hanging from the tree, it was clear that he had landed in the middle of the swamp. "Really, a swamp. It's all ogre now." Naga had said with a small chuckle when he pushed himself off the branch. The squelch of mud under his boots was annoying to him, along with the mud that was beginning to stick to the insides of the metal plates on his boots. The sound of gun shots and a Nevermore crying gave him a sense that people were nearby. "Really? They're already here?" Naga wondered when a couple of Boarbatusks rounded a tree and turned to face him. "All this instead of sun watching, really?"

Naga didn't like the situation he was put in, especially the mud. Drawing Dragon's Tooth from the sheath on his back, Naga quickly reformed it so that he could take a few shots. Making sure that he had armour piercing rounds, his hand quickly flicked the trigger, leashing five rounds. The first four shots were direct hits, the Grimm that were charging keeling over like a ship that had been pushed against a beach. The last shot clipped the last of the Grimm, which was still proceeding to charge at Naga. It didn't faze Naga at all, his hands again swiftly switching Dragon's Tooth back into its sword form. For a moment, Naga stood there, waiting for the beast to approach but as it reached within 10 metres of him, he raised his left arm and a wall of green scales formed in front of it, the Boarbatusk bouncing off like a ball against a wall. The fight soon ended with Naga dissipating the wall and striking the off-balance Grimm. As he sheathed Dragon's Tooth, Naga looked over at the direction he had heard the guns and the Grimm. "Might as well say hello. If they're full, good for me. If not, well... let's hope they are nice."
