Now, you just have to think of a story that actually explains all this. Jaune was a good example of it because he only had a sword and shield, which in the world of RWBY is pretty basic. Plus he did lie his way into Beacon.... which by the way is the complete and utter definition of "Fake it till you make it"

Plus his semblance made sense to be locked. He never really understood aura or experienced any situation his aura would be unlocked.

Once the semblance is found, then the Aura is able to give the shield effect. This is because unlocking the semblance releases a surge of Aura to be released.

Aura is essentially the soul of a creature. This is why Grimm do not have an Aura, because they are not actually alive. Just soulless constructs of evil.

Heterological Heterological No, not really. It is shown in the episode where Pyhra unlocks Jaune's semblance. Until the semblance is fully unlocked, the Aura is just the soul emitting from the body. It is just proof of a soul.

Once the semblance unlocks and the surge of Aura is released, the aura is more powerful and is able to act a shield and heal.

Someone without a semblance would have to wait a normal amount of time for a scratch to fully heal, while someone with a semblance only has to wait far less for it to heal

FROSTBITE4395 FROSTBITE4395 Just know what you are getting into before fully playing this character. If you are put into a dangerous situation and are hurt, your character may not be able to heal and can possibly be incapacitated.

Gonna have to correct you a bit, you're mixing up semblance and aura. Pyrrah doesn't unlock his semblance, but she does unlock his aura. Everyone has the potential to have an aura but only those with it unlocked can learn their semblance and gain the ability to activate their aura.
An unlocked aura is passive and active, its what allows huntsman to endure the cold temperatures of Solitas (as discussed in vol 7) but they still need to actively use their aura in combat to have it function as a shield. Some people also have more natural aura reserves than others eg. Jaune. That's what glynda was discussing when she told Jaune to manage his aura better, he was running it on full steam the entire fight rapidly draining it, instead of only activating it when he was exchanging blows, it's easier to see in the later arcs; strong blows has the aura manifest itself visually because they're actively using up more to block the attacks (lots of people get confused thinking the aura's broken because it appears).

Most of the characters we know have already developed their use of aura enough that they just naturally use it to block attacks unconsciously, only Jaune ever really struggled with proper aura management because he was such a noob.
If frost doesn't have his aura unlocked he's going to have the same problem.

and the scythe is not meant to be taken literal it's just for looks
meaning it's not meant to look like a gun scythe it's just the closest i could find to what i wanted
If people are having trouble interpreting your thoughts, write a description. All you did was link pictures so naturally, we'd take it at face value that he has a gun-scythe and a katana.

Sorry for the word wall.

This. I find it hard to believe that Frost would have survived his training with his weapons without an active aura to protect him :'D

Also, Heterological Heterological : I really like the CORL idea! If you and your team members want that to be your team name, then that's great!

FROSTBITE4395 FROSTBITE4395 : As Heterological stated, team names also have to have some relationship to a color. I went for YFEN because not only will this allow Yuri to be the team leader (his name is represented by the first letter of YFEN) which Yuri's player wanted, but it would also be pronounced "wyvern", which is a kind of dragon creature --> red colors
