Roleplay Type(s)
In the world of Deck, there are four roles that exist.
These are a
Citizen, Guardian, Monarch, or Joker.

Monarchs
  • There are only four Monarchs that ever exist in Deck, which are the King, Queen, Jack and Ace. Voting in the Kingdom always happens when one of the current Monarchs steps down or dies. This is usually a very short amount of time, as there are quite a few people close to the royals that they've chosen as their replacements.
  • Just like there can only be four different Monarchs at a time, there can also only be four different kinds of Monarchs. For instance, if there was King of Spades, no other Monarch would be a Spade. This is to allow a variety of opinions and views upon the citizens of the kingdom.
  • Each Monarch can rule all parts of the kingdom, but are each assigned a specific role to take care of the most. The King is in charge of the militaristic points of contact, as well as presiding over all legal matters, such as court cases and crimes. The Queen deals with the normal people, and many times will walk or ride through towns to see how they're doing. This is simply something that many of the Queens do recreationally, and is not a requirement for any future Queens. The Jacks act as heirs to the kingdom, being trained in the art of combat and leading in many small battles (though peace has been with many countries recently). The Jack is seen as a sort of prince, residing in the castle, and taught upon the cultures of other lands nearby. The Ace is seen as another sort of heir, but unlike the Jack, is taught all about the cultures of Deck, and how to be a good Samaritan. They also deal with the economy partnered by the Jack, checking the treasury weekly as per duty.
  • Each Monarch has an item of power that shows their position, as well as the ting that enhances their original power. For the King, his crown. The Queen, her ring. The Jack, his sword, and the Ace her quill. If they were to lose this, it would have major repercussions. However, the objects are enchanted with each new voting, giving the objects spells to bring them to their owners, and well as binding spells to keep them close to their owners person if they so desire.
  • The clothing of a Monarch is their species color, much more vibrant and colorful than a normal citizens.

Guardians

  • What one could call guards, Guardians take care of the Castle, as well as the Monarchs themselves. Guardians can range from Butlers and Maids, to servants and janitors.
  • Their goal is usually something else, like some kind of mundane housework, but the main goal of the job is simply to protect the Monarchs. This also requires the Guardian to be trained in combat magic, as wella s physical combat, just in case.
  • The colors Guardians wear are commonly black and white, or rarely very dull versions of the active Monarchs.

Jokers
  • These are citizens of Deck that gone mad in a sense, and are devilishly clever in a chaotic way. They find great fun in gruesome situations chaos.
  • Jokers color schemes break from the normal color code, but they commonly wear citizen-ranked clothing to not be noticed.
  • They are commonly in connection with each other, by means unknown to the law enforcement in Deck.

Citizens
  • Citizens who become old enough are given a number of two through nine that represents how high they are in social standings.
  • Clubs are some of the toughest types of humans in Deck. Their magic is usually very minuscule, and deals with heat or some kind of destruction. Clubs usually become part of the Royal Guard, military, or simple smiths in towns around the kingdom. They are naturally more muscular than the others, and wear their assigned color of Dark Green.
  • Spades are what most of the population in the countryside of Deck are. They are what one would call the 'everyday person'. Many of them become some kind of mundane job, such as farmers or bankers, and their magic is special because it adapts to their occupation as they mature. Their assigned color is Dirty Gold.
  • Diamonds are many of the higher ranking members of society, though flashier normal people can be them as well. Their magic is parlor magic, focusing around the use of illusion and trickery. One of their unique abilities is that of changing the way they appear, into that of having some kind of animal parts, or simply turning into an animal completely. Their color is Navy Blue.
  • Hearts are some of the most rare people in Deck, hence why they are some of the most important on the side of the Monarchs. Hearts usually have weaker magic that reflects their home life and what their childhood is like. However, at some point in a mature Hearts life, they have a sort of awakening if something large affects them. This awakens some kind of amazing power within, one that's completely different with each individual, making them some of the most powerful people in Deck.
NPCS (This will be a running list of important NPCs)
  • The Watcher, an older-looking woman who resides in the depths of the castles basement. She was the innate gift of foresight, as she herself is a Heart, but only in flashes at random intervals before the event occurs. This is also represented with her creation of a multitude of card-shaped objects that she calls a 'Deck', like the kingdom. When she draws a card, it tells her something about a question she has asked.

This is simply a way to allow you to see the rules and lore of said story. You can also ask questions here, if you'd like.
