Home world: Rosalyn was born on the planet Strugter. The Srins are the main species on the planet. Strugter is the second planet from the sun and because of this its surface is extremely hot. It is a large desert, the air dry and the temperature always in the 300s. Due to the atmosphere the animals found on this planet are much larger than normal and because of the lack of vegetation, water really only found in the depths of the planet, the fight for survival was large. For centuries the Srins lived on the surface and partially underground to gather water. They were able to live on the surface due to their ability to crystallize their body to protect them from the heat. The Srins eventually began to grow weary of the constant battle they had with the wild animals and took to the skies of Strugter, using green houses to produce food. Some of the Srins stayed underground so that they could gather water for those in the sky. To keep the cities floating the Srins used their crystallized blood as an energy source. They also used their blood to power their energy weapons. Even though the amount of blood needed for the weapons wasn’t much it took a tremendous amount to keep the city in the sky thus the government decided they need to have a constant supply. The Srins never flat out told anyone how they get their constant supply of crystallized blood but they don’t exactly hide the fact that they keep a city of Srins that are used solely for their blood.
Appearance: The Srins are a very humanoid looking race the main difference being they have pointed ears and their pupils are extremely tiny. Rosalyn has tan skin and stands at 5’6”. Despite being from a planet that is constantly under the sun, her short hair is an unnatural dark brown. Because of the amount of times and length of which her body has been crystallized, from her waist up her entire left side of her body (stopping at her hair line) is permanently crystallized. Her katana is strapped to her waist and her gun on her back.
Personality: One of the few traits that Rosalyn kept from her people is that she believes that she is superior to other species. Even among her own kind she feels that way and it definitely shows in the way she stands and addresses others. She will easily shrug you off if she doesn’t deem you worth her time and because of how she was raised trust was hard for her to give.
Despite how she acts Rosalyn does crave the company others in more ways than one, so it wouldn’t be uncommon to see her at a bar drinking to try and let loose. When drunk, Rosalyn is a completely different person. She is more open (as open as someone in her line of work can be) and can be a little flirty. Even still she address people like they are below her.
Equipment: Her crystallized body can be used a weapon do to its durability and strength it gives her. Other than that she carries around a small energy blaster gun that is powered by crystallized blood, and a katana. Combined with her blood crystal the katana gets super-hot to where it can melt through steel or help cauterize a wound. The last thing she has is an anti-gravity bracelet that is powered by her blood. A 5ft radius around her loses gravity which allows her to fly.
Special skills: Rosalyn is one of the few of her kind that had mastered using her crystallizing skill, unfortunately the side effect being the permanent crystallization on her upper left side of her body. She can fix almost any technical gear you put in front of her. Due to the environment of her home planet she can withstand harsh environments.
Racial Trait: Able to crystallize their body/blood and use their crystallized blood as an energy source. Has pointy ears and can go days without water.
Bio: Rosalyn is a part of what is considered the noblemen of the Srins. She grew up with little knowledge of the outside world much less those of her kind that lived on the surface. Till the age of 15 all she wanted to do was make her parents and her people proud. She focused on her studies and went to banquets. The life she lived wasn’t that of a normal Srin. She learned this right around when she turned 15 for she had stumbled upon one of the factories that produced blood crystals to keep the city up and running. It was when their school went down to the surface to get a tour of what the facility that gave them water looked like. She ended up getting lost from the group and stumbled upon a door with DANGER written across it in bold red letters. Curiosity peaked in her and she attempted to open the door. Looking around she noticed a slot for crystallized blood to go into. Being a part of a noble family she believed she could go in. Rosalyn bit her finger till blood started to fall. She crystallized some of it and put it in the slot and low and behold the door opened.
It was dark behind the door the only light source being dim and flickering. At this Rosalyn was slightly confused. Everywhere else was so bright and this place was so…dark. The longer she walked the more she started to hear the cries of Srins. It was soon that the hallway opened up into a large room with cages and machinery drawing blood. Seeing another path at the other end of the room she quickly walked passed the cages, avoiding eye contact as much as possible only to stumble upon another room just like that one. Rosalyn had always wondered where they got all the blood needed to keep their city in the sky. She never would have guessed this was how the others who weren’t lucky enough to be born in the sky would live. After that field trip she talked to her parents about what she saw and they didn’t seem to care at all. None of the adults did. It took a long time but Rosalyn was able to accept this side of her society. It wasn’t like most of her species was subjected to that and it was how they lived for centuries.
At 17 that field trip was but a fleeting memory. Sure it still haunted her dreams every once in a while but there was nothing she could do about it. Things started to get hectic for Rosalyn for it was only one more year till she was considered an adult in her society and it was then that her father pulled her aside when her mother wasn’t home to talk to her. It was then that she learned her father was part of a rebellion group that was against how their society lived. This had struck a chord in her body and she wanted to help him. She went through training just like everyone in the rebellion did which is where she learned to fight and use her crystallize ability to its best potential. Unfortunately things did not end up turning out well. Her father had gotten caught along with other rebels on a mission and was sent to the ‘plant’. She didn’t find out till two years later that her own mother was the one who turned her in. Something in Rosalyn snapped at this and she went on a rampage killing her mother along with other nobles who were directly responsible for what happened to her father and even some who weren’t. This put her on the most wanted list on her planet. Being a mercenary was the only way for her to be able to make money. At first it wasn’t easy but as the years went on she became one of the best in the business. The Srins racial traits helping her drastically.
