Multiple Settings Romantic Tension (closed)

Welcome, welcome! I am specifically craving a roleplay with unresolved romantic tension, one where society’s rules and expectations, as well as our characters’ values and goals, prevent them from being romantically together. I don’t want our characters to be Romeo and Juliet, fighting against the world to be together. I want them to have goals they prioritize above being with each other. Not that they can’t have cute moments once in a while, but I don’t want a happily ever after.

If that sounds good to you, let me tell you what you can expect from me. I will try to post weekly but will inform you if I can’t fulfill that obligation. My writing length will vary with whether or not settings need to be established or whether or not there is a high amount of interaction. It might be a short paragraph if our characters are only talking together with no change in scenery (in which case I will post most than once a week) but will be longer if more set up is required. I can play either male or female characters and would be comfortable with male/female or female/female romance. I am also good with roleplaying in either forums or PMs, but I don’t do post styles. I also won’t have any image references but prefer to describe things in text.

As for what I want in a partner, I will only roleplay with people 18 years old and above as I am just under 30. I ask that you collaborate with me in making the plot and settings and give me a heads up if you cannot post regularly. I also have one pet peeve: multiple speakers in one paragraph. Please stick with the “new speaker, new paragraph” rule.

Looping back to making the roleplay, I tend to be more comfortable with roleplays that take place in the past. I can be okay with roleplays that take place in the present day but would not prefer roleplays in the future. I like magical and fantastical elements but don’t need them in a roleplay. I don’t have any specific characters in mind right now but I’ll flesh one out as we work on the plot together.

We don’t necessarily have to pick from these, but below are some basic plot ideas. We can add more details to it together as we see fit.

treason
The king has died, and his younger brother accuses the their to the throne of committing patricide. The heir is imprisoned but is freed by one of the servants. They run away together, plotting to prove the heir’s innocence and to take back the kingdom.

the escort
A princess secretly agrees to a marriage with a foreign king in order to stop a brutal war. The king sends one of his knights to escort and protect the princess. The two must escape capture as they travel across war-ridden lands.

the new queen
A foreign princess arrives to wed a recently-widowed king. One of her ladies-in-waiting quickly befriends her and helps her with navigating the intricacies of the new courts’ etiquette, tradition, and politics.
