The Mad Queen

Memento Mori. Unus Anus
In terms of Class and Race, the DM allowed for anything that was official material or unearthed arcana for 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons. This includes adventure expansions such as Eberron and Curse of Strahd and regular expansions such as Volo's Guide of Monsters, Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes and Xanathar's Guide to Everything.

TL,DR- Anything published by Wizards of the Coast for 5e.

Furthermore, homebrew was allowed too, just so long as it wasn't too ridiculous or overpowered. In other words, don't sign up as this:

The parties were also starting at level 5 in the campaign, which makes them just below average in terms of power leveling. As per my own understanding, Level 1 characters are cannon fodder and Level 20 characters are DemiGods.

You don't have to list every ability or spell if you're taking it straight from the books, just give an average idea as to what the character is capable of.
For example: "The Wizard is a Transmutation Wizard, with some elemental magic up her sleeve as well."

Species: Tiefling
Class: Fiend Patron Warlock

-Circe

Personality: Blair is a somewhat reserved individual, who used characters like Circe to explore parts of herself and to let loose. Do not mistake her for being a completely shy individual though, for she does open up. It just takes time or a certain situation, such as being able to talk about her various interests.
She is a bookworm with a love for all things nerdy. Dungeons and Dragons is but one of her hobbies.

Another trait with Blair is her being a rather caring individual. She may not show it all the time, but she will go out of her way to help others. Not to the extent of her putting herself on the line though. She has faced some adversity in her life, and as a result tends to sympathise with those who are mistreated for things they cannot control.
If you press her buttons enough Blair will explode, showing an angry and passionate side that almost seems like the opposite of her usual nature.

Personal History: Blair got into tabletop games about six years ago, starting with the likes of Vampire the Masquerade before progressing to D&D after the release of 5th edition. In general, games and books were her escape with games allowing her to play a different character or different version of herself being what she was attracted to the most. Tabletop RPGs allowed her to broaden her horizons and actually make friends, as she had been a bit of a loner during her school years and growing up.

However, the last time she played a tabletop RPG things did not end well. The DM singled her out, sucking enjoyment out of the game before jumping into territory Blair was not comfortable with. He had learned a thing or two about her, and held it against her. After leaving the game when the DM crossed a line, she was without a party for a number of years. She kept trying to organise games, but it kept falling through.
Eventually, after venting some of her frustration on an online forum about being able to find a game she was invited to the first session of a new 5th edition game.

Character History: Urchin background
Circe is a native to Vargil, living in one of the floating cities. However, the city of Mearis was ruled by a Blue Dragon. She avoided the wrath of the dragon by hiding, as many children did in the lower levels of the city. One day the girl got lost in the lower levels, and began to cry after hours of wandering the catacombs.
Her crying caught the attention of a Fiend named Monnas, one who had been observing the city for quite some time as a means of finding those under the dragon's heel he could manipulate. Something stirred within the Fiend, and he actually took pity on the child. He appeared before her, and agreed to help her find her way not only out of the catacombs, but out of the city itself.

In return all he asked for was her soul. The child agreed. Everything Monnas taught Circe helped her survive the next few years in the city, and eventually escape out into the desert. Seeking adventure she moved from city to city, earning her keep as a mercenary. Eventually, she stowed away on a ship, not knowing it was bound for Ubor after fleeing from the authorities.

Ubor was a fresh start, and one Circe intended to take full advantage of.

Real Name: Roux Johnson

Character Name: Fen Tenegris

Age: (both character age and real age): Character Age- 18 *I did a lot of math for this. I looked up how you age them and everything* Real Age- 25

Gender: (both character gender and IRL gender): Character Gender- male Real Gender- female

Sexuality/Romanticism: Pansexual biromantic

Species: half-elf

Class: Bard *This might be stereotypical, but I've always wanted to try roleplaying a bard*

Appearance: Roux is a short and curvy girl with black hair with blue highlights. She has olive skin and dark brown eyes.

Fen is tall and has white-ish blond hair. His eyes are a pale, sharp blue and he has pointed ears. He keeps his hair in a single braid reaching to his ribs.

Personality: Roux is a shy and quiet girl who is the most basic definition of 'introvert'. She likes to read, draws, and writes. She isn't very confident and often panics at the slightest upset to her orderly life.

Fen, meanwhile... is a jokester. Loud, confident, and is very supportive of his friends. He's wacky and comes up with the most ridiculous plans, and loves to be the center of attention. However, he shares Roux's panicky nature and can be prone to freaking out in stressful situations. However, unlike Roux, he's pretty good at keeping his emotions in check, and while can seem level-headed in battle, he's internally screaming and panicking.

Personal History: Roux lives a pretty normal life, and likes to write and roleplay online. She has a dog and two cats, and actually named Fen after her cat Fenley. She heard about D & D through a mutual friend and decided to join a campaign because it sounded fun and was an opportunity to get out of her shell a bit. She created her character to be the person she wishes she could be. Witty, sarcastic, and always having a blast going on adventures.

Character History: Fen was abandoned by his elven mother soon after he was born, and was raised by an elderly farmer who found him when working in his field. Raised alongside the farmer's grandchildren, Fen had a pretty normal and happy childhood. However, Fen's thirst for adventure and naturally curious tendencies led to him often wandering off and staying away from home for days, before coming back and writing songs about his 'heroic deeds' and 'mighty adventures'. His human adoptive parent soon died, forcing Fen to move in with one of the farmer's children. Unfortunately, this person was superstitious of elves and viewed Fen with mistrust and suspicion. Seeing that he obviously wasn't wanted, Fen took the only thing he inherited from his elderly caretaker, a guitar, and set off in search of knowledge. He's been traveling since he was twelve, and gaining knowledge, stories, and performing for adoring crowds.

Notable Skills: Physically fit
Abilities: Fen has Darkvision, and has some immunity to magic.
Notable flaws: (supernatural or regular weaknesses) Fen can be extremely stubborn and isn't often willing to compromise. He can be prone to freakouts. Especially when something is happening that he doesn't like.
Gear: (acquired gear such as weapons and otherwise) he has his guitar. A sword for defense, and then his satchel that carries all of his necessary supplies, also has light armor.

Extra details: (optional, trivial details about the character)

1. Fen loves to use 'farmer' speech to annoy others. Often using it hilariously wrong, he thinks its fun and can often boost morale.
Fen: Well, isn't this a rootin' tootin' place to travel! Look at all the sheep! *points at a flock of birds*

2. He's easily excitable and loves to try new things. He'd leap off of a cliff just to prove he could.

3. He LOVES sweets. Every town he goes to- if he can buy something sweet, he will.

4. He can be overly friendly. Like, to the point where it actually puts him in danger.
Fen: FRIENDSHIP, BIACH! *tries to hug a dragon*

4. Often yells when he's excited or upset, and often goes to high places to sulk when sad. (Like a tree. Regularly seen climbing trees)
Fen, climbing a tree as he visibly weeps: MY LIFE IS OVER AND I'M SAD!

5. Tends to overshare.

Spells:
Cantrips: Vicious Mockery, Minor Illusions
1st Level spells: Dissonant Whispers, Heroism
2nd Level: Invisibility, Knock

(I'm not sure if I'm going to do this right. I know almost nothing about D&D. I edited this to make a bit more sense)

Real Name: Mark Ortega

Character Name: Markus Barton

Age: 24(Character) 27(Player)

Gender: Male (Player & Character)

Sexuality/Romanticism: Straight(only feels attraction to those who he meshes well with, Demisexual and Demiromantic)

Species: Human

Class: Artificer(Armorer, UA specialization)

Apperance:
1582924475207.png

9047e9bdb7b7f0ca42c13a8d7b6bcee7.jpg

Personality: Mark Ortega is always one to challenge what can and cannot be done through his understanding of how the world works. Most of the time, he guards his knowledge behind closed mental doors, but will share it readily if it helps solve an issue or problem. Of course along with his smarts he is also semi-attractive, but doesn't let this go to his head. However, he will help others if he can as its within his capacity and because its the right thing to do.

Personal History: Mark knew from the moment he was in high school that he wanted to be an engineer and set out to do so in University. It was also here that he discovered his affinity for D&D as it lined up with his previous likes of video and board games. While most people would have trouble balancing the three pillars of university, social academics and sleep, Mark managed to do just that. Once he graduated from university he found a job with a well off firm that specialized in heavy calculations, something he excelled at. However, within D&D he was known to pick one class and one archetype and stick with it throughout multiple sessions, Dungeon masters, and stories. He would almost always be a Draconic Bloodlined Sorcerer. Ultimately under much pressure he decided to finally kick the habit and pick new classes; something he found much joy in. After experimenting with many different classes he found out that the Artificer lined up similarly to his engineering profession and decided to try out this new class for a new game that he was invited to join.

Character History: Markus Barton is the second son of the Barton family, a noble dukedom who rose to power through merchant business and occasionally looking over taxes and records for other families; they had keen eyes and were able to spot mistakes or harmful clauses that others would not have found. When Markus turned 12 he discovered he had an affinity for magic and under the best tutelage his family could buy Markus learned about magic and the many schools. With his skills in magic he also had a burning desire to understand the intricacies of magic and magic item creation; he soon became an artificer as a result. Many families have wanted to marry into the Bartons and Markus has had many offers of marriage, but his parents have turned away all offers for fear of destroying the Barton name; something that Markus appreciates his family doing for him, but he would like to find a significant other though. During his studies he stumbled upon a previously unknown artificer specialization that had been lost to time, the armorer. Most artificers became alchemists or battlesmiths but neither really appealed to him the way that having a suit of armor that could protect you and fight the darkness could. So he set out to create a suit of armor that would serve this purpose and with plate armor, he discovered his calling truly.

Notable Skills:
Magical Item Tinkering,
Persuasive,
Can recall history at the drop of a hat(history).
Very smart & very healthy.
Position of Privilege: Welcome in high society, seen as somebody of higher standing by common folk.

Abilities:
Magical casting,
Item Infusions(replicate magical items,
enhance defense, enhance items, armor of tools).
Power armor(no str requirement for heavy armor, spell casting focus, cannot be removed against his will, uses Intelligence instead of strength or dexterity as attack modifiers.) Armor has no don or doff penalty due to its magical nature.
Magical Initiate(message, Guidance, and Shield) (Extra attack).
Markus is very adept with all schools of magic and can adjust his strategy and casts to fit the situation as given.
He is also a genius(18 INT starting).

Proficiencies: Arcana(+7) History(+7) Persuasion (+5) Perception(+2)

Languages: Common, Elven, Dwarven

Notable flaws: Mark can sometimes fall into a trap of repetition if certain things line up with other previous problems he has solved. Sometimes forgets to realize the effects of solving a problem. Is a bit of an alcoholic.

Gear: Plate Armor, Cloak of Protection, flintlock pistol, pistol ammunition, thieves tools, dungeoneer pack, explorer’s pack, Tinkerer’s tools, smith’s tools, alchemist’s tools, Playing Card Set. Alchemical jug(arcane infusion item)

Cantrips: Firebolt, Mending, Guidance(Magical Initiate), Message(Magical Initiate)
First Level(does not count against his current spell slots) Magic Missile, Shield
Second Level(Does not count against his current spell slots) Mirror Image, Shatter.
((All other spells are chosen and prepared via a daily spell selection.))

Armorer Artificer Abilities:
Power Armor- if the heavy armor has a strength requirement, you do not need it. The Power Armor can be used as a spellcasting focus for your spells. The Power Armor cannot be removed against your will and expands to cover your entire body. Any attacks made with the Power Armor use your INT modifier instead of STR/DEX.

Real Name: Wyatt Hamon
Character Name: Ser Godfree
Age: Wyatt: (45) Ser Godfree (29)
Gender: Both male
Sexuality/Romanticism: Hetrosexual
Species: Half-Elf
Class: Eldritch Knight Fighter

Appearance:
headimage.jpg
dan-ramos-det01.jpg

Personality:
Despite past events,Wyatt has maintained a positive outlook, often believing the best in others and wanting people to reach their full potential. He has a bubbly personality and is overall a rather warm and cheerful individual. He has lost a little bit of that spark in recent years, but finds escapism to be the most helpful solution to his problems. He has little time for people who mistreat or don't care about their children, and this is one of the only times you could see him angry. In fact, he has a soft spot for children, going out of his way to help them wherever he can.

Wyatt is a little bit of an intellectual but isn't arrogant or that much of a show off about his own intelligence, prefering to teach others what he knows rather than mocking them for a lack of knowledge. He can be snarky if somebody denies facts that are right in front of their face though.

Personal History:
Wyatt is a veteran of 1st edition D&D, having played it back in the early 80s as a young boy. Being a young kid with a big imagination he dedicated himself to making a character. At first he played a Paladin named Sir Duncan, but he was stuck down by a Mind Flayer. After this his second character was Sir Godfree. Godfree was an exaggerated version of Wyatt, growing up in a frozen wasteland (Wyatt grew up in Minnesota).

Through the luck of the dice and some quick thinking, Godfree survived the trials of 1st edition. Eventually, Wyatt and his D&D friends drifted apart, as friends often do throughout high school. He got back into D&D in college, during the time of 2nd edition but after graduation he had too many other commitments, and all of his D&D friends also went their separate ways.

He moved back to Minnesota to become a history teacher at his old high school, where he took the time to help his students. Due to his warm nature and wanting to help others, he became rather popular with parents and in the small town. This reputation allowed him to reconnect with an old high school crush named Vanessa, and after three years of a good relationship he decided to propose. Back in the day, she had been part of his original D&D party and the two played a few games together during the course of their relationship.
His honeymoon was the only holiday he'd taken off of school time in ten years.

His hard work at school paid off, and Wyatt was promoted to Vice Principal in the year 2002. His happiness did not last, for Vanessa was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. In such a small town, everybody offered the couple help, even contributing to medical costs. Despite best efforts though, she lost her fight in 2016.
Wyatt took more time off of work to try and grieve, but eventually threw himself straight back into his role. He found solace in escapism, mostly sticking to books and his job as VP but one day after school he stumbled upon a bunch of kids who were trying to set up a D&D club. Finding escapism and needing something to do to deal with the grief, he agreed to help.

The game had changed quite a lot, and was now a few years into 5th edition. Although he couldn't join in the actual game (it was a school club run by teenagers, after all) helping the club start up did spark his interest, and he found himself looking for a game. After playing a few games online and reconnecting with his love for the game, he decided to dust off Sir Godfree (now named Ser Godfree because of Game of Thrones) when invited to a game promised to be one he'd never forget.

Character History:
Noble background: Knight variant
The 5th edition version of Ser Godfree has a few revisions from his 1st edition counterpart, but many details remain the same. He is a bastard child of a human Duke and a Dark Elf. Their love was forbidden, and as such Godfree was stashed away. Unable to claim titles he decided to become a Knight after being inspired by the deeds of Ser Duncan the Wise, a fallen hero who gave his life for his companions. Duncan was a mentor to Godfree, teaching him how to wield a sword.
Along the way, Godfree fell in love with a fair maiden who lived a double life as a Rogue named Jenny, but lost her along the way in battle (Jenny had been Vanessa's D&D character). Despite this tremendous loss, Godfree continues to fight to truth, justice and the little guy.

Real Name: Danny Holland

Sexuality/Romanticism: Straight
Species: Firbolg
Class: Spirit shaman
Appearance:
images
221b000b29a975ac9afb2a61942b6798.png

Personality: Danny isn't the most serious guy ever but he knows when to stop clowning around and doesn't actually want to offend anyone. He is more of a follower than a leader but isn't afraid to suggest plans or changes to a plan if he has any ideas.

Personal History: Danny's life was pretty normal for the most part. One event he will always remember though is the time when he got separated from his parents at a relatively crowded fair when he was five years old. It was only fifteen minutes before he was found but it still affected him.

While not the lowest on the totem pole Danny also wasn't the most popular kid in high school, partially because his mother worked there as a teacher, and spent more time online when not in class than interacting with his fellow students. Despite his mother's urging he always was an about average student, except his favorite subject, history.

While he has some experience with play by post rps online he has never played any tabletop rpgs before though not for a lack of interest. As such he was very interested when he heard that there were sites where you could play D&D online and quickly joined not just a site but also a game that ran during his free time.

Notable Skills:
Can use light armor and all simple weapons.
Perception
Knowledgeable about nature
Lowlight vision
Survival skills

Abilities:
Firbolg Magic: By using wisdom as your spellcasting ability for them you can cast the detect magic and also disguise self with this trait. Once you cast this spell you cannot be allowed to cast this spell again with this trait until you have finished a short or long rest. Whenever you use this skill you may seem up to 3 feet shorter than normal allowing you to the more easily blend with both humans and Elves.
Powerful Build: You count as one size larger when you are determining your carrying capacity and also the weight that you able to push or drag or lift.
Spirit Guide (bear): As one who is bestowed by the spirits, you have a personification of the spirit world that is there to guide you, conferring a greater awareness of the surroundings. The spirit guide exists within the mind and soul of the spirit shaman, and cannot be interacted or perceived by anyone else. This guide heightens his senses.
Speech of Beast and Leaf: You have the ability to communicate in a limited manner with beasts and plants and they understand the exact meaning of your words even though you do not have any special ability to understand them in return. You also have an advantage on all the charisma checks which you make to influence them
Wild Empathy
Chastise Spirits
Spirit Form
Ghost Warrior
Ritual casting
Spell focus

Notable flaws:
Danny isn't good with large crowds.
He has a fear of falling.
As a spirit shaman he can only change his selected spells once very 24 hours using a 30 minute long process and still needs a long rest beforehand.

Gear:
Herbalism Kit
Greatclub
Studded Leather Armor (wearing)
Short bow with 18 arrows
Explorers pack
Component pouch
Two potatoes

Real Name: Trevor Maul
Character Name: Vahg
Age: 20 and 34, respectively
Gender: Male
Sexuality/Romanticism: Bisexual
Species: Githzerai
Class: Shadow Monk

Appearance: Trevor is noticeably short and twiggy, easy to mistake for a teenager. His hair is a mousy shade of brown, his eyes are a much darker brown that looks almost green at times, and he wears a pair of square-rimmed glasses.

Vahg is a sickly shade of yellow with a smattering of brown spots mostly on his back and arms, like a banana bordering on overripe. His body is tall and wiry, and all of his features other than his sunken greenish-gray eyes are obscured by a mask and hood.

Personality: Trevor is very talkative about his interests, and he has a lot of interests. He always has a billion things going on, which makes him pretty much a font of trivia and unexpected applicable info, and is usually the best person to turn to if you have a problem that isn't common enough to have a WikiHow page written on it. However, he has a bad habit of biting off more than he can chew and will overwork himself for the sake of his passions and those of his friends. And he talks a little too much.

Personal History: Not much to say here. Trevor was born to a pretty average family, (other than the fact that his father is a mad scientist who creates human-dinosaur hybrids, but that's not relevant) so he never struggled financially, but wasn't obscenely rich. Trevor was a bookworm in middle school, and got picked on occasionally by his older siblings' friend groups, but wasn't routinely bullied. He graduated pretty close to top of the class, and is currently in college working towards a degree in engineering.

Notable Skills:
  • Trained in unarmed combat and a few weapons
  • Speaks Common and Gith
  • Skill Proficiencies: Stealth, Acrobatics, Insight, and Deception
  • Other Proficiencies: Playing cards, thieves' tools, artists' tools
Abilities:
  • Githzerai Psionics: Can use Mage Hand at will, (and make it invisible) as well as Shield and Detect Thoughts once per day.
  • Ki Manipulation: holy shit how he do that
  • Shadow Magic: Can cast Darkness, Darkvision, Pass without Trace, and Silence a good few times per day.
Notable flaws: Bad at armor, no applicable skills outside of combat
Gear:
  • The clothes on his back
  • Some $$$
  • Rations
  • A pair of sais
  • Throwing needles
  • Explorer's pack
  • Painter's kit

Extra details: "I promise you, I wasn't trying to make a ninja. I swear, he just turned out like that."

Alias: Javen Burrows
Age: 23 (28)
Gender: Male (Both)
Orientation: Straight (Uninterested)
Species: Human (Variant)
Class: Blood Hunter
Appearance: Born from Jesse’s more sinister desires, Javen was written to be viewed as a monster of a man. Out of the many races to choose from that could all be perceived as unnatural or horrendous, Jesse chose to build Javen on the basis of humanity as a personal standpoint. Though he’d never forwardly admit it, Javen’s grizzled appearance and intimidating physique were all put in place to make a beast out of a mortal. As a result of this, Javen can be described by Jesse’s character entry as; A man of monstrous but proportionate mass, who could be seen as nothing more than a wild creature. With wild unkempt hair, and a curly tousled beard of dark locks. Javen was a warrior and little more, adorned in studded battle-worn leather that reeked of bloodshed. His eyes were said to “shine with the fierce power of the sun”, with their golden color reflecting the glare of his fire within. He was a dark man with bitter intentions, a chiseled jaw, and a hateful sneer that could be found plastered on his face regularly. His complexion was said to be riddled with numerous scars, the most apparent being the outcome of a horrendously close encounter with a blade near his eye.
Personality: Jesse himself often attempts to portray himself as the “cool loner” archetype. Though rather chatty when engaged, he tends to reign back his aptitude for conversation out of a misaligned idea that it presents a “cool” persona. As a result of this, he similarly masks his love for fantasy and tabletop gaming, instead acting disinterested in the subject outside the environment of his D&D party. Even in the midst of a campaign, he often acts disinterested but can alternatively be found slipping far more into character than typically would be expected from an outside perspective. Alternatively, Javen channels these aspects of Jesse in an interesting manner. In a way, he seems rather uncaring to the wellbeing of the rest of his adventuring party. Instead, the character tends to focus solely on the destruction of other creatures and enemies before taking into account their own losses. In this way, the Blood Hunter is the standard loose canon but not to the extent of being a “murder hobo”, but instead a vicious predator attacking his prey. When Jesse does allow his love for fantasy and roleplay to slip into his portrayal of the character, Javen seems to be far more tactical in his approach to situations and might even touch on his background in certain instances.
Personal History: Jesse's more immediate history can be put towards his attendance of college. Accepted into a University due to his outstanding athletic achievements, little was known or recognized on his outstanding grades in the subjects of Creative Writing or even English itself. Thus, this lead to his internalization of the skills and love that he had for such subjects until finding a potential safe haven in the world of D&D.
Character History: Javen is haunted by the slaughter of his native village by a horde of monsters, though he rarely speaks of such an atrocity. He's tried to bury it and run away from it, to no avail. Often during his fits of rage or silences of depression, the lone warrior has horrible flashes of the moments in which everyone he knew died. The burden has taken its toll, isolating him from most people and making him question his sanity. Due to this, Javen has attempted to overcome such a plague of thoughts before it destroys him, which he often exercises in his relentless assault on monstrous beings. Those who look into Javen's eyes can see that he has faced unimaginable horror and that he's no stranger to darkness. Though many might fear him, commoners tend to extend him simple courtesy and do their utmost to help when needed. Unless Javen has shown himself to be a danger, some will even take up arms to fight alongside him should he find himself facing an enemy alone. Prior to becoming an adventurer, Javen's path in life was defined by his dark moment and lead to a long winding road of even shadier misdeeds and actions on his part. Now he feels that same darkness threatening to consume him, which he exploits in his war against wickedness. To destroy what broke him, Javen intends to become something worse than anything he could face in combat.
Notable Skills: Throughout his travels and experiences, Javen has learned a great deal in which he adds to his everyday adventuring antics. Such skills come in handy and often change the tides of an encounter simply through knowledge and experience alone.
  • Acrobatics, Arcana, Athletics, Investigation, Religion, Survival
  • Martial/Simple Weapons
  • Light/Medium Armor and Shields
  • Alchemist's Knowlege
  • Abyssal, Common, Infernal
Abilities: Often feared or misunderstood, and driven by an unending drive to destroy the wicked, blood hunters are clever, arcane warriors who have bound their essence to the dark creatures they hunt to better stalk and survive their prey. Armed with the rites of forbidden blood magic and a willingness to sacrifice their own vitality and humanity for the cause, they protect the realms from the shadows, ever vigilant to avoid becoming the same monsters they choose to hunt.
  • Hunter's Bane: Javen holds an advantage (Survival) in tracking fey, fiends, or the undead, as well as the (Intelligence) ability to recall information about them. He's also empowered in such a way that he can control and shape hemocraft magic, using his own blood and life essence to fuel his abilities.
  • Blood Maledict: Javen gained the ability to channel, and sometimes sacrifice, a part of his own vital essence to curse and manipulate creatures through hemocraft magic. While invoking a blood curse, but before it affects the target, Javen can choose to amplify the curse by losing his own health and vitality. Creatures that do not have blood in their bodies are immune to blood curses.
    • Blood Curse of Binding: Javen can attempt to bind a creature he can see within 30 feet of himself, which is no more than one size larger than him. He can use this feature once.
  • Two-Weapon Fighting: Javen specializes in fighting with two weapons, his second strike can do more damage.
  • Crimson Rite: Javen learned to invoke a rite of hemocraft within his weapons at the cost of his own vitality. He can choose to activate a crimson rite on a single weapon with fire elemental energy. This lasts until he finishes a rest, or if he's no longer holding the weapon.
  • Mutagencraft: Javen can concoct a single mutagen when he finishes a short or long rest. He can consume a single mutagen, and the effects and side effects last until Javen finishes a rest, unless otherwise specified. While one or more mutagens are affecting him, he can take a moment to focus and flush the toxins from his system, ending the effects and side effects of all mutagens. Said mutagens are designed for Javen's biology and have no effect on other creatures. They are also unstable by nature, losing their potency over time and becoming inert if not used before he finishes his next rest.
    • Impermeable: Javen gains resistance to piercing damage.
      • Side effect. He gains vulnerability to slashing damage.
    • Nighteye: Javen gains darkvision for up to 60 feet.
      • Side effect. He gains sunlight sensitivity.
    • Unbreakable: Javen gains resistance to bludgeoning damage.
      • Side effect. He gains vulnerability to piercing damage.
    • Mobility: Javen gains immunity to the grappled and restrained conditions.
      • Side effect. He gains a disadvantage in strength.
  • Ritual Caster: Javen has learned a number of spells that he can cast as rituals, and is considered a 5th-level caster. These spells are written in his ritual book, which is required for the casting of such incantations. Within his ritual book, the Blood Hunter holds two 1st-level wizard spells that came with the journal. Alongside those, an additional 3rd-level wizard spell was added by Javen himself after finding a written ritual of the conjuration. As a wizard-based ritual caster, Javen can learn any ritual spell after acquiring a written variation of its execution, given that the level is no higher than half his caster level (rounded up).
    • Expeditious Retreat: This ritual allows Javen to move at an incredible pace. When he casts this ritual, and then as a bonus action on each of his turns until the ritual ends, he can take the Dash action (60 ft).
      • Ritual Stats. This ritual takes 10 minutes to cast and has an equal duration. It can only be cast on Javen himself.
    • Floating Disc: This ritual creates a circular, horizontal plane of force, 3 feet in diameter and 1 inch thick, that floats 3 feet above the ground in an unoccupied space of Javen's choice that he can see within range. The disk remains for the duration, and can hold up to 500 pounds. If more weight is placed on it, the spell ends, and everything on the disk falls to the ground. The disk is immobile while he is within 20 feet of it. If he moves more than 20 feet away from it, the disk follows him so that it remains within 20 feet of him. It can move across uneven terrain, up or downstairs, slopes and the like, but it can't cross an elevation change of 10 feet or more. For example, the disk can't move across a 10-foot-deep pit, nor could it leave such a pit if it was created at the bottom. If Javen moves more than 100 feet from the disk (typically because it can't move around an obstacle to follow him), the ritual ends.
      • Ritual Stats. This ritual takes 10 minutes to cast and has a duration of an hour. It has a range of 30 feet.
    • Phantom Steed: A Large quasi-real, horselike creature appears on the ground in an unoccupied space of Javen's choice within range. He decides the creature's appearance, but it is equipped with a saddle, bit, and bridle. Any of the equipment created by the spell vanishes in a puff of smoke if it is carried more than 10 feet away from the steed. For the duration, Javen or a creature he chooses can ride the steed. The creature uses the statistics for a riding horse, except it has a speed of 100 feet and can travel 10 miles in an hour, or 13 miles at a fast pace. When the ritual ends, the steed gradually fades, giving the rider 1 minute to dismount. The ritual ends if he uses an action to dismiss it or if the steed takes any damage.
      • Ritual Stats. This ritual takes 10 minutes to cast and has a duration of an hour. It has a range of 30 feet.
  • Martial Adept: In his time within the order, Javen gained martial training that allows him to perform special combat maneuvers. As a result of this, he knows two Battle Master techniques, which allow him to deal additional damage and unusual effects.
    • Sweeping Attack: When Javen hits a creature with a melee weapon attack, he can choose to do damage both to the intended target and that of a nearby enemy. The damage is the same type dealt in the original attack, but the sweep can only reach within 5 feet.
    • Menacing Attack: When Javen hits a creature with a melee weapon attack, he can attempt to frighten his enemy in order to scare them out of combat. Often this allows subsequently for an opportunity attack.
  • Mounted Combatant: Javen is considered to be a dangerous foe to face while mounted. This feature came from his extensive training within the Blood Hunter Order, which in turn endows him with a tactical advantage with melee weapon attacks against any unmounted creature smaller than his own steed. Alternatively, Javen can force any attack targeted at his mount to target him instead.
  • Extra Attack: Javen can attack his foes twice in a single instance, rather than once.
Notable Flaws:
  • Cost: Possibly the most notable of his flaws, Javen's abilities aren't simply given to him. They come with just as many downsides to the power that they offer him, and in turn, weaken his overall health to boost his combative might. In the process of trying to destroy what he hates, Javen is constantly killing himself.
  • Wisdom: Javen is by no means of the word "wise", in turn he could actually be described as a negative in that field of knowledge. He does poorly in situations that require such an asset, or against enemies who prey on the use of such a feature. (-1 WIS)
  • Constitution: Likewise, his constitution is quite lackluster. Though nothing rather horrible, overall it appears as mundane and unsupportive. Though it's nothing to boast about, under the right circumstance this lacking area can become a useable weakness for opponents (0 CON).
  • Selfish: Though not always intentional, it's been stated before that Javen's hunter mentality often gets between his affiliation and ties with the group. When the entire party is suffering, the Blood Hunter typically won't care and continues to fight his battle.
Gear: All of Javen's gear can be found packed neatly either within the confines of his backpack, or strapped to the outside compartments of the travel bag. Often before battle or during a rest, he'll discard the heavy burden of gear to the wayside in order to free up his movement. Otherwise, Javen typically lugs such a heavy bag strapped tightly over each shoulder and along his backside.

Real Name || Anamaria Al Ghul-Constantin
Character Name || Steliana
Age || Nineteen {IRL} 170 { in-game, appears nineteen}
Gender || Female
Sexuality/Romanticism || Heterosexual, secondarily asexual
Species || Lich
Class || Necromancer

Personality || Anamaria is a power-hungry individual. If posed with the question of being forbidden to use the dark arts and companions, her answer is obvious. She is very proud, quietly arrogant and has a borderline superiority complex, being that she comes from a specific line of necromantic witches which are referred to as Liches. She will bluntly state that the only necessity for other people is to fulfill her own personal gains, coming off as frigid to those who do not know her well. Inwardly, somewhere—Anamaria does have compassion, she just finds it very hard to show it. She is ambitious and cunning, not being afraid to manipulate others for her own benefit. She is a knowledge seeker at heart. Anamaria is often amused with dark things and finds twisted things funny. Outwardly, she oozes dreariness as if her existence was the very definition of a ray of death-glow.

Personal History || Her father is Vlad Constantin, the King of Romania. Her mother is Amirah Al Ghul, a Moroccan professor who teaches Arabic in Romania.
This is how her parents come to meet, in Constanta, Romania, where she was born and raised.
Character History || Steliana is descended from a subclass of the witch called Lich. Her father, Zorvanu, an infamous warlock belonging to the group of necromancers who transformed themselves into Liches—or in other words undead sorcerers. They achieved this many centuries ago, by transplanting their souls into a containment known to Liches as caskets after their deaths. Steliana’s name day is December 21st, the winter solstice. On that day, she died in order to bring someone very dear to her back to life, on that day she displayed the greatest act of selflessness, accepting that a dark ritual to trade your own life for someone else wouldn’t be her specific key to becoming a Lich—god, was she wrong.

Notable Skills || Knowledge of The Occult, Knife Fighter, Herbology
Abilities || Eldritch; a form of black magic utilized to perform necromancy, cursing, the manipulation of bones, shadows, frost, and one’s own soul. The words a Lich utters are arcanely laced
Notable Flaws || Cleric/Holy Based-Attacks directly counters the magic which she uses

Gear || Light Armor, Dual Daggers

Extra Details || Anamaria is fluent in Romanian, Arabic & French

Just a few things:

1.) Although the game takes place in a medieval-like setting (albeit with magic making things more advanced), the party members are from modern day and have been transported into the bodies of their player characters. While it's not impossible for her to be of royal blood, Romania hasn't had a royal family since 1947 (the Communists abdicated them, by force). A suggestion I would make is that Vlad could be the descendant of the royal family, or perhaps even a politician but the idea of him being King just isn't going to pan out.

2.) This isn't really something you'd need to change but, just something you should take into consideration: If Anamaria is a Princess, why would she be taking part in an online D&D game? We are talking about Roll20 here, after all.

3.) The players were transported into the bodies for their player characters who are Level 5. While it's not impossible to become a Lich in D&D 5e, it's not going to happen at Level 5. She could become a Litch further down the line, but at the moment it's not possible. Liches are just a little bit too powerful for the party's current position.
fcb34c60d13f896e143313258bcc9022.jpg
You have to remember that it takes more or less a lifetime of studying magic for even powerful Wizards to become Liches. Yes, I know there was a ritual mentioned but even so it would take an incredible amount of power on her part to become a master of the dark arts.

I'll accept her if you make a few changes, but as it stands I can't let her in at the moment.

The last king Romania had was King Michael I, in this RP Vlad is his eldest son, which would make him Custodian of the Crown right now and Prince of Romania, head of his house {taking the role of the current custodian of the crown}
But yes he wouldn’t be able to take the title of “King” he’s still the head of the house of Romania if that’s okay with you.

Anamaria is a princess, but modern royalty is basically equivalent to being a celebrity or a politician.
They’re still people who do normal things to have a life. She’s a nineteen-year-old princess who’s a nerd for tabletop games.

And, alright. Keeping the Lich bloodline backstory, but she’ll just be a living human Necromancer at level 5 in this role play.

Yes, that's all fine with me. Thanks for understanding, and I'll accept your character as soon as the sheet's been updated.

Real Name: David Listman

Character Name: Kamodo Daragorn

Age: IRL 32 - Game 28

Gender: Male/Male

Sexuality/Romanticism: Straight/Straight

Species: Dragonborn

Class: Cleric - Tempest Domain

Appearance:
IRL

Game:
Draconian Cleric Head.jpg
Draconian Cleric.jpg

Personality: David is easy-going, and almost nothing makes him mad. He'll get upset quickly if you try to force him to do something he believes is wrong. He doesn't talk much at first, but will talk your ear off once he gets to know you.

Personal History:
The son of a fisherman and his wife, he grew up in a quiet oceanside town without much excitement. When he got to the age of 11, he was given the option to pursue education outside of the town's elementary school or become a fisherman like his father. Though he didn't mind the water, he had seen rich people while sailing abroad as a child and learned that one needed knowledge to become rich and travel the world. He had discovered his hunting skill at a young age, and wanted to learn more about it and how to earn money using it.

He set off to do just that and found education in the nearby city of Houston. That's where he met his mentor. His teacher ran a school that taught both academics and tactical training, and the student chose whether to continue in Military Training or College after graduation.

David wanted to explore his skill, and on the written recommendation of his mentor, enlisted in the U.S. Army after his training. He transferred to the Rangers shortly thereafter, as he knew they deployed a lot, and he wanted to sate his desire for travel. 6 years after joining the Army, he decided to get out when his enlistment expired, at the rank of Staff Sergeant.

He's been working as a mall security guard for some time now, making his way up to assistant chief of security. It's not a super job, nor does it pay very well. However, he enjoys the moderation of the job and the ability to help keep people safe in a homestead environment.

Character History: Kamodo - or Kam, as his friends and squadmates know him - is a solitary type. He doesn't keep a squad, and after a little while, he'll find another one once a quest is completed. He's a nomad, never staying in one place. He grew up in a large brood, and unlike most, he was given a choice of aptitude rather than being told what he would become. Every hatchling was given an aptitude test, and based on their score, were told what they excelled at, and would choose from the list of the professions most likely to succeed in.

He chose to be a cleric, as he took to martial arts and magic both very well, and enjoyed them very much. He joined a Cleric's Hall and was found to have an affinity to the Tempest, and thus trained until adulthood in that Domain. After graduation, he took employment under a human noblemen, and that is where he met her. Katara. The nobleman's daughter. They hit it off immediately, and because of his human side, he knew they had a chance...until the nobleman had her killed, while he was forced to watch. He was subsequently banished from the nobleman's domain, and he has wandered the countryside since.

Notable Skills: Tactical operations; urban, forest, desert, jungle and tundra military operations; hand-to-hand combat (US Army Ranger fighting - MMA, Judo, Krav Maga); Leadership; military (expired) and civilian commercial drivers license; rapid situation analyzation; wilderness and urban survival.

Abilities: Natural draconian strength and reflexes

Notable flaws: He sometimes overthinks things or doesn't think at all, and as such can rush through a situation improperly, or not act at all; his belly scales are not as durable as the scales on the rest of his body, and can be pierced easily; if light change (i.e. twilight) happens rapidly, his eyes have a hard time focusing and he can be temporarily blinded, especially in his right eye since it is slightly damaged.

Gear: See pic above - Chain shirt, Custom-Made half-plate, long sword, dagger, shield

Extra details: His scars come from fighting the nobleman's guards when he was trying to save Katara from being killed. The tribal cloths he wears signify his brood mother's clan symbol.

Personal History: From the very day he first started learning about the world, he was fascinated of the history of the world around him, especially his home country, Germany. But the history that fascinated him the most was the Icelandic people, whose ancestors were the Vikings. He had spent most of his time learning Icelandic and studying the ancient culture and weapons of the Vikings. In his free time, he would just go to roll-20 , it being the only place where he could truly feel like he is a real Viking, except without the part that most people would believe a Viking would do. And instead of being a hard-headed Barbarian with high strength, he would often put his highest stats into Strength, Intelligence, and Constitution, with Charisma and Wisdom being his dump stats. One day, he gotten an invitation on Roll20 that seem to match his schedule and had a good story, so he accepted and got ready for the first session, not knowing what lies ahead of him.

Notable Skills:
Fighting style: His fighting style is a combination of defense and offense, block strikes with his Dane axe before striking when seeing openings or his enemy is out of breath. But sometimes he would just let it all go to the floor and recklessly attack his enemies when outnumbered.

-Unarmored defense: While he is not wearing any armor, his Armor Class equals 10 + his Dexterity modifier + his Constitution modifier
-Extra attack: Gains an extra attack after attacking once
Path of the Berserker:
-Frenzy: activates during rage, grants the user the ability to use attacks as a bonus action after a turn of the ability being activated, suffer one level of exhaustion after the duration of rage

Character Name:
Lachlan

Age:
23/31

Gender:
Male

Sexuality/Romanticism:
Homosexual
(He figures he should keep that to himself in a medieval society)

Species:
Human

Class:
Cleric, Life Domain

Appearance:
Player/Character

1590364198106.jpeg1590364220563.jpeg
Personality:
Sarcastic, laid back, and breezy, Jasper seems like a pretty confident and chill guy. He's pretty much anything then that when he got sucked into a game of D&D. He's prone to slight panic, a little cowardly, and uses sarcasm a lot more than usual. He doesn't know what he's doing and neither does he act like he does. After a while, Jasper should calm down and get back to his usual persona. Eventually, at least.

Personal History:
Jasper is the definition of average. His whole life has just been one big "Meh" leading up to this pint. There's actually nothing interesting to say about him, like at all. Really. He got decent grades through highschool, studied Electrical Engineering in College, and got a job at a Baskin Robbins right after. Two years after graduating, Jasper watched one too many D&D stories from Puffin Forest and thought D&D sounded like a cool deal. He was running late to the first session, but he didn't really care. The players would forgive him when he came with Pizza.

Character History:
Jasper was too bored to write a backstory for Lachlan. It remains to be seen whether the world he was sucked into constructed one for him or not.

Notable Skills:
Jasper, as a player, has no skills to speak of. His character Lachlan has a few select skills though, which is fortunate for Jasper because he would've been dead by the afternoon if they didn't. Lachlan specializes in light weapons and medium armor, can speak Common and Goblin, and their Wisdom, Constitution, and Dexterity stats are pretty okay. His Wisdom stat is his highest though. Lastly, Jasper's entire fighting style consists of throwing spells at his problem before hiding behind his teammates. If he could find an actual weapon instead of the staff he has, he might be a little more helpful.

Abilities:
Cantrips:
Sacred Flame, Spare the dying, Mending
Prepared Spells: Inflict wounds, Blindness/deafness, lesser restoration, Prayer of healing, Animate dead, Bestow curse, Bless

Notable flaws:
Jasper doesn't know how t play the game, doesn't know what half his spells do, has no idea how to fight, and is just a bit too cowardly to fight in the first place. Also, Jasper doesn't even know Lachlan's backstory because he never wrote one for them. Lachlan's lowest stats are Intelligence and Charisma as well.

Gear:
Jasper's character, Lachlan, mainly wears medium armor. He wears half plate gauntlets and boots with a steel mask covering their face and leather armor covering their torso. The only weapon Lachlan has is a tall staff that he doesn't really need for casting, but Jasper thought it looked cool. Other than that, Lachlan came with a prayer kit, 2 days of rations, and a flask of water.

Extra details:
I can send you the D&D and Beyond character sheet I made for Lachlan if you want

Real Name: Trisana Hart
Character Name: Emsin Illiven (aka Vaeril Blackoak, Jareth Deepbluff, Caerus the Swift, Eris Winterpine)
Age: Character - 25 Real - 27
Gender: Character - Male Real - Female
Sexuality/Romanticism: Bisexual/Biromantic
Species: Half-Elf
Class: Bard - College of Whispers

Appearance:
Trisana - 5’2”, Short curly auburn hair with a round face and topaz blue colored eyes. She’s got slightly tan skin and is mostly fit but has always been a bit insecure about her weight.

Emsin_Playing_Final.png
Emsin - 5’7”, 145 lbs
Emsin has fair skin and dark green eyes. He has a diamond-shaped face with a delicate nose. Slightly feminine-looking. He has very long black hair that has braids in it going from the sides and meeting in the back. The braids cover the ends of his ears so that people cannot see that they are pointed. He is left-handed and wears a rapier on his right hip. He is flirtatious with anyone no matter what they look like. He wears black leather armor, dark purple breeches, and a dark blue shirt, along with a dark, furred cloak and a feathered hat. He carries an elaborately carved lute, wood stained a cherry color with lighter accents along the neck. (Sorry, I don't have a cool picture for him right now!)

Personality:
Trisana is a quiet person. She seems shy at first (and to be fair she is a little), but really she just doesn’t always have much to say. That can change depending on what the topic is though. She could go on and on about books, anime, dungeons & dragons, video games, basic nerdy things. She always keeps a little notebook and pencils to draw when she’s bored or feels some inspiration.

She enjoyed playing characters with a higher charisma like Emsin where she could break out of her quietness and push herself to do new things. She’s always tried to be a ‘nice person’, but deep down she is surprised by how unfeeling she can be about certain things that reduce normal people to tears or blustering anger.

Personal History:
She’s had a pretty average life, got passing grades in school, but never really knew what she wanted to do long term. She’d always loved reading fantasies and escaping into the worlds in her mind’s eye, starting with books, to video games, to table-top RPGs in her college years. In the last several years she had been practicing martial arts, but she’s never been in an actual fight and has no idea what would really happen.
Some friends of hers that she would play D&D with had either moved away or couldn’t meet due to scheduling differences, so Tris turned to Roll20 despite being nervous playing with strangers for the first time.

Character History:
Elora and Elania Elmwood worked as entertainers/courtesans in a larger port city of Ubor. They were hired one day as entertainment for an expedition led by Amroth Purpleheart, a high elf seeking some ancient magical artifact in Asyne. During the expedition, he flirted and canoodled with both women, but ultimately fell for Elora. When it was over he asked them both to return with him to his home estate where they would want for nothing (but in reality have no freedoms). Elora adamantly refused. Elania, on the other hand, accepted the offer, tired of living in her sister’s shadow. Disheartened that his favorite wasn’t coming, Amroth left with Elania. Elora returned to the port city but not long afterwards discovered that she was with child. So she decided to take what earnings she had and move somewhere smaller and out of the way to raise it.

Emsin Illiven grew up with his mother in a small village in Ubor. Elora would work in the local tavern/inn where she would help with serving and provide entertainment by playing her lute and singing. She worked hard there, and when he was 8 she could afford to have a small cottage built for the two of them. She didn’t often talk of other family members save for a sister named Elania, but Emsin got the impression that they didn’t get along very well. He’d asked about his father a few times and she would get a cold and distant look in her eyes before saying “Not today dear, I’ll tell you when you’re older”.

They were not treated horribly in the village, but it could have been better. There was no shortage of bullies to torment Emsin. Elora discovered Emsin’s magical capabilities when his bullies started to have strange and unexplainable things happen to them.

Not long after his 13th birthday, he came home one day to a dark cottage. He called for his mother but there was no answer. Grabbing a light, he discovered a sight that would haunt him for years. He saw his mother on the floor of their living room, her body torn apart, almost unrecognizable. There was blood everywhere, but no sign of who or what could have killed her. Emsin stood in shock, taking it all in, before dropping the light and running out the door. He made his way to one of the larger cities of Ubor and lived in the streets, surviving any way he could.

After many years he was picked up by a local thieves guild that had noticed his talent for staying hidden and getting into places he shouldn’t have been. Not long after they had a run-in with a rival of the guild, a woman named Suada. Emsin became very familiar with her, as each time they clashed she seemed to taunt him, always getting the upper hand. One day he found a note in his pocket after such an encounter, telling him to meet in secret. He came expecting a fight, but what actually happened was unexpected. Suada had a proposition for him, become one of her students. She had been watching him for some time and saw a talent in him that was similar to hers, one she wanted to grow and add to her network.

Suada trained him in music, magic, and fighting. Showing him how to make the three work together and towards his advantage. One year she even surprised him with a lute, it was his mother’s old one. Eventually, they were found out by the thieves ’ guild and had to escape the city. They parted ways, Suada having taught him enough for him to be on his own, and he has been wandering place to place ever since.
