  In the year -266, the previous race of humans declared an all out war. 2 global superpowers of the Old World waged war on each other, for reasons unknown now. Their weapons unleashed what seemed like immense magical power, however research believes the Old Race had lost touch with their magical energy. In the year -229, the mere squabble awoke powers far older than the Old Race, powers that laid dormant for millions of years. Powers that had already destroyed the world and its inhabitants once before, powers that will do it again. These powers are known as the Angels and Demons.
  
  The Angel and Demons, awoken by the scale of fighting between inhabitants of the Old Race used the Old World as their battleground. What cities that still stood were incinerated, entire countries of people caught in the cross-hairs completely obliterated. These angels and demons fought for another 229 years, and, at year 0, a much greater power, even greater than the 2 that fought, pushed both sides back into dormancy, and It retreated back in the sky, leaving the utterly destroyed Old World in their wake.
  
  The pockets of surviving humans eventually started to evolve into other humanoid species, form societies, and become back in touch with the energy that they had left behind a millennia ago - magic.
  
  Present day, year 683. The world and its nations coexist in peace. It's a golden age of enlightenment. New advances in technology are made, advances in medicine and science. The new people are again losing touch with their magic.
  
  Certain societies realize this, and they try to stop the sudden advancement, to conserve their connection to their magic and nature around them. Others are progressive and support the quick development of technology, creating military weapons that don't need extensive training to harness like magic requires, making them stronger. It also makes the people's lives easier and healthier, where more people can be doctors without having to be masters at healing magic.

  Appearance - Standing at a short 4'10", Olyai IV never goes in public without her 6 inch heels for fear people will see her as weak. (The wise Empress knows that figure matters when you rule the current largest empire.) She has piercing hazel eyes and long, braided black hair that reaches down to her lower spine. Olyai IV shows her elven heritage with her pointy ears, high cheekbones, and a sharp nose. Aging has had very little effects on her, and she looks like she's in her mid - 30's. Olyai IV is slim in stature, thin throughout, donning her regal red dress.
  
  Personality - Empress Olyai IV has a sort of menacing tone about her, shrouded in mystery. She keeps herself reserved and strong in public, but for those who have the privilege of personally knowing the Empress, you'll know her only as kindhearted and wise. Everyone knows her as a good ruler who will stop at nothing to ensure the safety of her kingdom and subjects.

  Backstory - No one really knows about the Empress' history, and she doesn't elaborate on it. Olyai IV sired 2 twin girls 13 years ago with her late human husband Kyodol, and that's about all the people know.
  

  Raidorii Folara

  Appearance - Raidorii stands at 6 feet tall olive skin and dark green eyes and thick black hair, with a chiseled jaw and big bushy eyebrows. With a vertical scar over his left eye, it is always shut halfway. His body, always covered with his silver and red armor with a ruby adornment in the middle of the chest piece, is thick with muscle.
  
  Personality - A reserved yet strong fellow, Raidorii stands with his younger brother as Olyai IV's most trusted bodyguards. Raidorii, from the outside, seems particularly mono-dimensional, however knowing him personally you know he's very intelligent and wise, and one of Olyai IV's main advisers and her right hand man. He is just as indecisive about his political standpoint, because he too knows that a definitive choice will lead the empire to an uprising.

  Backstory - Raidorii owns a backstory as vague as the Empress' herself. Soon after Olyai IV's coronation, she appointed Raidorii and his brother to be her main bodyguards. And since then, they have been always there for the Empress and her royal court, stopping many a theft (and other crimes) with their telekinetic powers.

  Appearance - Standing a little shorter than his older brother at 5'8", Bardur is the other royal guard of the Empress. He too has olive skin and black hair, though that of Bardur is a bit longer. Bardur has dull and gray lifeless eyes, for he was born blind, and no healer was able to cure it. Though he can't see, he uses his telekinesis similar to the way a bat uses echolocation to "feel" the objects in his surroundings. Bardur is slightly less muscular than Raidorii, and his silver and red armor is slightly lighter than that of his brother.
  
  Personality - Bardur is quite opposite of his older brother, where he is a little less wise and serious and has more of a sense of humor. Bardur is the one you can go get a drink with, maybe not so much his brother. Although more a wise guy instead a wise man, Bardur knows when he needs to be serious and cut the jokes, and get stuff done (usually after having been given a stern look from Raidorii)

  Backstory - With as vague a backstory as his brother, Bardur was plucked from nothing to be the royal guard of the Empress, and not much is known about how he was blinded except "by birth."

  Appearance - Short and stocky like most dwarves, Patriarch Zielnur stands at 4'6". His long, curly white hair and white braided beard show his age, as do the wrinkles around his face. He has strong looking electric blue eyes deeply set in his face. He wears his church robes and has the Feur, the symbol of the church, tattooed on the left side of his neck, below his jawline. His velvet church robes fall around his pale body.
  
  Personality - "A wise old dwarf", as the Patriarch of the church calls himself. He has a way with words and wisdom making him very persuasive and level-headed. Zielnur is another of the Empress' main advisers. However level headed Patriarch Zielnur is, he is clearly jealous and envious of those who can wield magic, for he was born without the ability.

  Occupation - Patriarch of the Feurian Church (like the Pope, he's the main man.)
  
  Backstory - The story that the Patriarch always said (although it might not be very true) is that he wasn't born normally, he was found on his poor parents' doorstep, because the gods have dropped him off there. Although he was not given the gift of magic, he claims the gods gave him a better gift of humility and wisdom. The family was religious, and in "divine intervention of a normal sequence of events," he was elected to become the Patriarch after the last one passed on in his own bed, peacefully.
  
  Other Info - The Feurian religion is the most well-known throughout the Aidryen Empire. In a nutshell, it is the belief in multiple gods, each controlling something specific, like the oceans or the seasons. These gods decide which people are given the gift of magic. When people die, or pass on, they go to this life to harness their magic (if they have it) in order to fight for the Great War predicted in the books, where two powerful beings will fight over their world, and only they can stop them from taking it. The people without magic also go to this heavenly place, preparing for the war and helping the magic user. The religion believes that each person, doesn't matter the race, has one of two jobs - defend the world with their magic or support the magicians with food and resources. The church is Progressive because they believe that the non-magicians should have better weapons in order to fight against the outdated powers.
  

  Duuk Ur Chaag

  Appearance - Standing taller than the royal guard Raidorii, Ur Chaag stands at 6'4". His horrendously scarred face shows the numerous battles he's fought in, and lived to tell the tale. His left eye is forced completely shut and covered with scars, and his right, dark greenish gray. He wears heavy silver and red armor with a red phoenix insignia on his left arm, marking his position as Supreme Militia General.
  
  Personality - Although quick to anger, and contrary to the orc stereotype, Ur Chaag is intelligent and wise. Ur Chaag isn't very good with all the "political pig mud" as he calls it, however Ur Chaag is another of Olyai IV's advisers because of his military knowledge. Ur Chaag knows how to win a war, and isn't afraid to join on the war front with his comrades.

  Occupation - Supreme Militia General
  
  Backstory - When Ur Chaag was growing up, there was still a certain stigma in place for Orcs. They were naturally ugly and dumb, and often experienced discrimination. So little Ur Chaag ran from school and tried to join the military when he was only 7. He had heard stories about the military, how everyone was welcome and there, Orcs are welcomed! He tried to join, but the joining age was 18. So, few years later when Ur Chaag looked a little bit older, he got a fake identification and joined the military at 12. When the higher ups of the militia found out, they applauded his dedication and promoted him to Sector General K, at only 17.
  
  Ur Chaag showed excellence in commanding the small sector that the Empress herself took notice, and at the age of 20, Ur Chaag was promoted by Olyai IV to a Strategic General position. Here he planned defenses and positions and training excercises for the troops, but Ur Chaag felt he didn't belong. He wanted to be out there with his comrades, training and fighting. The Empress realized this, but the higher ups didn't allow Ur Chaag any more promotions.
  
  However when the previous Supreme Militia General died on the battlefield with raiders, they needed someone. The Second Militia General should've been the next Supreme Militia General, however Olyai IV stepped in and made Ur Chaag the Supreme Militia General.
  

  Kyraithi Underwood

  Appearance - Kyraithi stands at 4'1" in his work boots, and he's getting a teeny bit chubby. He has blond hair thrown back behind him in a rat-tail, sideburns and a small goatee. His green eyes are wrinkled with smile lines, and his crooked nose points slightly to the left. He almost always wears his green shirt and patch-work britches.
  
  Personality - Though not physically sculpted, his personality is nothing but charming. He's always bubbly and optimistic, always finding the best in people, always quick to crack jokes. He plays his lute pretty much perfectly, playing common folk songs for his customers.
  
  Political Standpoint - Progressive
  
  Magic Type - Fire 3
  
  Occupation - Co-Owner of the Underfoot Shoppe (bakery and sweet shop)
  
  Backstory - Kyraithi grew up with a good education and good friends, but a troubled house life. His older brother was usually mean to him, and his parents were abusive and didn't allow him to train in his magic at all. But he took his bruises and his scars and used them to forge himself into a better person. He met his now wife, Kyrinn, in high school, and she was always a good friend of his. After school, his parents had him set for university, but Kyraithi declined their offer, and wanted to pursue his dreams of becoming a baker and entertainer. At this point, his parents kicked him out of the house and denied him any loans or funding. So, he got one from the bank, and then more, and more, as he and his newly wed wife paid for the marriage, honeymoon, housing, and opening the shop. So now, the shop is open, but he's still in debt, and with war on the horizon and taxes increasing, it doesn't look good for the Underfeet. But they still stay positive, pushing the bills in the back of their mind as Kyraithi makes bread and entertains the customers, and Kyrinn makes fudge and delicacies behind the counter.

About like, beginning Industrial Revolution. Currently, it's minimal - basic tools like sickles and hammers, but they have their magic which helps. So yea, it's minimal, but advancements in a steam engine - which doesn't need magic to use or make easy, like everything else - were found, starting this whole Progressive Revolt scenario.

Favour coins is another form of signing contract with a devil, but instead of having to follow certain set of rules, both party has more freedom on what they should do.

When you owe someone a favour, you can forget about it. But when people owe Dinah a favour, she will materialise it into a coin. She can use the coin to call for the favour people owe her.

AssassinHD , The Trigan who very strictly continue to follow the old tribal and religious ways have some magic, but most of the magic in the Trigan communities are very weak or the magic has completely died out. The only sort of "Magic" they seem to keep is their telepathy.
