The Vanishing of Takaru

In an era of unprecedented peace among the Five Great Nations, the unthinkable happened. Takaru, the Hokage’s granddaughter, vanished without a trace, sending shockwaves through Konoha and igniting suspicion and paranoia among the allied nations.

The Calm Before the Storm

The village of Konoha basked in the warmth of a tranquil spring morning. Takaru, known for her kindness and exceptional medical ninjutsu, strolled through the market, greeting villagers with a smile. Unbeknownst to her, shadows lurked, watching her every move.

The Disappearance

As the sun set, Takaru ventured into the forest for her evening training. Hours passed, and she didn’t return. Panic set in as her absence was reported to the Hokage. A frantic search began, but the only clue was her headband, found near the village’s boundary.

The Rising Suspicion

With no clear leads, the Hokage’s mind raced. Could this be the work of a rival nation? Recent diplomatic missions to the Land of Wind and the Land of Earth had been met with unusual tension. Conspiracy theories of betrayal and hidden agendas began to surface.

The Investigation

An elite team of jonin, joined by Takaru's former instructor, Kazunari, was dispatched to gather intelligence. Secret meetings with informants in neighboring nations hinted at a broader conspiracy. The Tsuchikage’s cryptic comments during a recent summit and the Kazekage’s guarded demeanor only deepened the Hokage’s suspicions.

The Land of Lightning and the Land of Water have long depended on a mutually beneficial trade relationship. Kirigakure provided the storm crystals while Kumogakure offered premium leviathan steel.

One fateful season, a ferocious hurricane, aptly named Jinsoku, swept across the land, wreaking havoc on the seas and delaying the Kiri's scheduled trade voyage. The hurricane caused massive flooding, destroying ships and making travel nearly impossible. The Mist Shinobi, dispatched by the Mizukage, found themselves stranded, unable to deliver the crucial storm crystals to Kumogakure.

The Yotsuki clan, led by the Raikage, awaited their shipment with growing impatience. The delay affected their energy reserves, as storm crystals were running low. Their ability to generate storms and protect their territory from potential threats was compromised right around the time that an assassination attempt was made on the Raikage by rogue Samurai.

A heated exchange ensued when the Raikage sent a swift message, carried by a Raiju, to the Mizukage:

The Raikage: “Mizukage-sama, your delay disrupts our balance. We need the storm crystals to sustain our power. This hurricane is no excuse for neglecting our agreement.”

The Mizukage, weary from the devastation Jinsoku had caused, replied with a water-infused scroll:

The Mizukage: “Raikage-sama, we face great hardship. Our lands are flooded, our people displaced. We cannot control the fury of Jinsoku. We ask for your patience and understanding.”

Unmoved by the plea, the Raikage threatened to withhold future leviathan steel shipments until the storm crystals were delivered. Tensions soared as both clans found themselves on the brink of conflict. Neutral mediators from the Earth and Fire Clans were called upon to resolve the dispute.

The mediators proposed a solution to ensure both clans could survive the aftermath of Jinsoku:

Emergency Aid: Kumogakure would provide temporary aid in the form of leviathan steel, allowing Kirigakure to recover and restore their lands.
Collaborative Efforts: Both clans would work together to rebuild the damaged infrastructure and prevent future natural disasters. Joint storm-prevention techniques and flood management would be developed.
Flexible Trade Terms: The trade agreement would be revised to include clauses for natural disasters, ensuring that both parties could adjust their obligations without penalty.

Tensions escalated when a scheduled trade caravan from Kumogakure was ambushed by a rogue group of water ninjas. The premium steel was stolen, and accusations flew. The Yotsuki clan believed it was a calculated move by the Hoshigaki Clan of Kirigakure to exploit their desperation.

After much deliberation, the Raikage declined the terms of the proposition. Kumogakure denied a convoy of leviathan steel, leaving Kirigakure to recover on their own from the hurricane's devastation. In return, communication from Kirigakure ended until their waters stabilize.

In Sunagakure, lives the elderly Kazekage named Lady Sayo. Despite her age, she is a master of wind-based jutsu, known for her graceful movements and wise counsel. Her age had only deepened her connection to the winds, and she is revered as a guardian of her village’s ancient traditions.

In Iwagakure, the Tsuchikage's son, a young man named Ganji, was gaining recognition for his exceptional earth-based jutsu. He was strong, determined, and had a deep respect for the ways of his village. His talent in manipulating the earth was impressive, but he was also known for his curiosity and open-mindedness.

During a diplomatic mission, Lady Sayo was sent to Iwagakure to discuss a potential alliance between their villages. Ganji, eager to learn from other cultures, was chosen to be her escort and guide during her stay. Initially, their interactions were marked by formality and respect, but as they spent more time together, they discovered a deep connection.

Lady Sayo was captivated by Ganji’s strength and dedication, while Ganji found inspiration in Lady Sayo’s wisdom and the grace with which she controlled the wind. They spent hours discussing their jutsu, sharing stories of their lives, and finding common ground despite their differences.

One evening, as they stood on a hill overlooking Iwagakure, the earth beneath their feet solid and the wind gently rustling the trees, Ganji confessed his admiration for Lady Sayo. She, in turn, acknowledged the unexpected but undeniable bond they had formed.

Their relationship blossomed, defying the expectations of both villages. The age difference and their contrasting elements raised eyebrows, but their love proved resilient. Lady Sayo’s wisdom and experience complemented Ganji’s youthful energy and strength, creating a harmonious balance between earth and wind.

Their marriage was celebrated with a grand ceremony at the border of the Land of Earth, where the winds of Sunagakure breeze through the earth of Iwagakure. The union of Lady Sayo and Ganji became a symbol of unity and cooperation, teaching both villages the importance of embracing differences and finding strength in diversity.

The Raikage, known for their immense strength and unwavering leadership, was attending a diplomatic summit in a neutral territory. The summit aimed to strengthen alliances and foster peace among the hidden villages. Representatives from various lands, including the Land of Earth and the Land of Iron, were present.

During the summit, a group of rogue samurai, disguised as guards, launched a surprise attack on the Raikage. Their swift and coordinated assault caught everyone off guard, but the Raikage's formidable skills and quick reflexes allowed them to fend off the attackers. The battle was intense, but ultimately, the Raikage emerged victorious, capturing one of the rogue samurai for interrogation.

The captured samurai revealed that they were acting independently, driven by a personal vendetta against the Raikage. However, the Raikage couldn't shake off the suspicion that there was more to the story. The rogue samurai's weapons and techniques bore a striking resemblance to those used by the samurai of the Land of Iron, who were known to have a close alliance with the Land of Earth.

The Raikage's suspicions grew, and they began to question the true intentions of the Land of Earth and their alliance with the samurai. They feared that the Land of Earth might be using the samurai as pawns to weaken Kumogakure and disrupt the balance of power among the hidden villages.

To address their concerns, the Raikage summons a council of trusted advisors and sends emissaries to both the Land of Earth and the Land of Iron, demanding explanations and assurances of their loyalty. The situation is delicate, as any misstep could lead to a full-blown conflict.

{Prologue}

In the heart of feudal Japan, two formidable clans—the Kamizuru Ninja clan and the Ōkami Samurai clan—were locked in an age-old conflict.

The Shinobi, masters of stealth and subterfuge, moved like whispers in the night, while the Samurai, paragons of honor and martial prowess, fought with the brilliance of daylight. The tension between the two clans reached its peak when the ninjas of Iwagakure stole a sacred sword from the samurais of Kyoro—a symbol of their honor and power.

In retaliation, the samurais planned a full-scale attack on the ninjas' hidden village. Among the samurai warriors was a young and ambitious warrior named Hiroshi, who was determined to recover the stolen sword and restore his clan's honor.

On the other side, the leader of the ninja clan, Akira, was equally resolute in defending his village and preserving the secrets of his people.

As the samurais prepared their assault, the ninjas set traps and defenses to repel the invaders. The battle was fierce and relentless, with both sides suffering heavy losses. Amidst the chaos, Hiroshi and Akira found themselves facing each other in a duel. The clash of steel echoed through the forest as they fought with all their might.

But just as Hiroshi was about to deliver the final blow, Akira disarmed him with a swift move and revealed a shocking truth: Their eyes locked, and they recognized each other—not as enemies, but as long-lost brothers who had been separated by the very war that now pitted them against each other.

The realization stunned Hiroshi, and he dropped his sword, unable to continue the fight.

Hiroshi and Akira had grown up in the same village, sharing dreams of becoming great warriors. But when the village was attacked and destroyed, they were taken in by the opposing clans. Unaware of each other's fate, they had both risen through the ranks, only to be reunited in this moment of destiny.

Caught between loyalty to their clans and the bond of their past, Akira and Hiroshi faced an impossible choice. The battle ensued, not just with swords, but with words, memories, and emotions. They fought with all their might, yet their strikes grew hesitant, their resolve wavering.

Akira, seeing the pain in his brother's eyes, called for a ceasefire. He explained the history of their separation and how he had been raised by the ninja clan. He also revealed that the theft of the sacred sword was a desperate attempt to protect the ninja village from the samurais' growing power.

In a sudden moment of clarity, they lowered their weapons, realizing that their true enemy was the cycle of hatred and vengeance that had torn them apart. They decided to turn their blades against those who perpetrated the war, aiming to bring an end to the bloodshed.

With their combined skills, Hiroshi and Akira confronted the leaders of their respective clans, exposing the lies and manipulations that had fueled the conflict. Their actions sparked a rebellion among the warriors, who yearned for peace over endless battles.

In the end, the bond between the brothers brought an end to the generations-old conflict, and a new era of peace and cooperation began. The ninjas and samurais, once bitter enemies, became allies, united by the shared goal of protecting their homeland.

Akira and Hiroshi became symbols of unity, reminding all who heard it that true strength lies not in the blade, but in the heart.

Nice. I’ve decided to put a hold on recruiting Co-Gm’s until I observe everyone’s writing styles and level of commitment

I'm excited to see what characters everyone comes up with and to get things started :)
trying to come up with a character, but the conflict and motivations are hard to come up with. At first i thought this was samurai vs shinobi, but then they talk no jutsu'd into an alliance. So what is the guiding force for my new shinobi in this au narutoverse?

Right now it's to become a certified shinobi to begin with and/or Hokage/Kazekage/Tsuchikage/Raikage etc.
Also, I'll just say that not everything is as it appears. The prologue is important to a potential plot between Samurai and Shinobi.

An antagonist for the first arch could very well be a Ninja or Samurai, pitting each side against each other once again.
I like to leave some mystery for the fun of the players. But the whole Kumogakure being sus of the growing Samurai is a notable factor.

However, that plot concept is not the only potential antagonistic element
Corruption between the ninja lands and their own clans is likely to be a thing. As well as pirates, invaders, etc.

Also to note is that the ninja-samurai alliance is still fresh. I'll say only less than a decade and a half maybe up to 3 have passed since the alliance, so there are still grievances and resentments that are still being healed from since then. The characters could have been affected by those harmful events.

Just because the leaders are (or seemingly) in alliance doesn't mean the people (ninja/samurai) aren't still torn on how they feel of one another after all the bloodshed and ravaging/pillaging.

Here's more plot info for you guys that I'll be adding into the first post
This will help everyone have a better understanding of what's going on in the RP

Hey, sorry! Just been tossing character concepts around. I had the idea of a subversion of the Uchiha by playing this super optimistic kid with a really good home life, with maybe one of his parents being Senju, but I don't want him to be a Gary Stu

RP Announcement

I’ve decided to give players the option to start as Genin or Chunin. If you want the experience of starting as an academy student and taking the chunin exams, then Genin is for you.

Genin will also rank up faster and their skills will be reasonably balanced out with the Chunin skill level. The Chunin perks will be going on riskier missions sooner and having one-three higher level jutsu.

If you start as Genin, you now have the opportunity to be more of a standout in your class. This doesn’t mean you will be an OP student, but you will have that advantage to be somewhat balanced with Chunin from the beginning. Chunin obviously still being more advanced and equipped.

Sidenote: Players can also create their own GM-approved jutsu that makes sense with their rank and power level.

At the start, the goal is to have all of the players on a somewhat equal playing field with reasonable and natural progression.

The opportunity to create a Jonin will come later on, but only if I’ve seen that a player can handle writing a lower level ninja first and shows they can handle a higher level with grace

This avoids newcomers joining with Jonin and start acting reckless with one another or abusing their power level. I have to see everyone’s writing styles and see that they can be responsible and cooperative.

And just to be clear on the ninja-samurai alliance: It is between the Land of Earth Ninja and the Kyoro Samurai only as specified in the prologue (Kazimura Ninja clan-Ōkami Samurai clan). Not all ninja.

The Great nations are the ones that are *seemingly* at peace or in a truce during the start. But there are still rival ninja clans with unresolved conflict between them and even rogue ninja.

Luelle Luelle Does my OC have to be a Nara Clan member to have shadow possession? Does the Nara Clan exist in this AU?
No and Yes. They aren’t the same Nara from the canon. They are original characters.

Your shadow user would have to be an oc clan though if not Nara.

Players can create their own GM approved clans with specific requirements. But if you want something as simple as just an oc last name then thats fine. But if the clan has some sort of special newly created ability, then that needs to be discussed with me or a Co-Gm (when/if I recruit any)
