The United Colonies

Population: 11,408,729,635.

Politics

Leader:

Government Type: Technocracy.

Relations: Many human nations have cultivated a decidedly negative opinion of the U.C. due to their prolonged exploitation and invariable eventual abandonment of many former colonies once they were no longer of use. As for alien nations, the U.C. military has worked to establish trade routes with them, and though the question of immigration remains off the table, they remain committed to maintaining peace despite growing xenophobia and fear of an invasion that may lead to their extinction.

Society

Capital: The U.C. annually rotates it's capital city between Earth, Mars, and the twin untamed planets of Alpha Centauri.

Species: Human.
Demographics: The U.C. is entirely human, although it does utilize the labor of hundreds of millions of humanoid robots in the civilian sector.

Language: U.C. Common.

Culture:
Religion: Atheism is by far predominant within the U.C., to the point all but the largest influential faiths of the past have fallen out of active practice.

History:

(What is the history of your faction?)

Economics

Economy Type:

Currencies: The U.C. Credit and the U.C. Token.

Status: Prosperous.

Dominance

Homeworld: Earth.

Systems: Solar System, Alpha Centauri.
Influence: Economically, the U.C. is much more developed and industrialized than the dozens of human nations it does business with in order to acquire resources that are simply too expensive to renewably or artificially produce independently whenever the demand of domestic markets outpaces the output of civilian mining fleets.
Military: The military of the United Colonies has two significant branches, Starfleet and Starforce. Starfleet is designed from the ground up for a defensive war against an equivalent or greater adversary over the unimaginably vast expanse of the two star systems it controls, and for that very reason, is largely robotic if not simply automated or autonomous, most notable exceptions being startrooper squads and starfighter squadrons. With many promising candidates selected, volunteered, or cloned to later serve in their future units before birth, they are refined to represent an idealized humanity, often becoming supersoldiers genetically modified and cybernetically enchanced beyond recognition that have trained for years and have fought for decades. A little over a million such individuals proudly serve their country now, with rejected and retired personnel being sent to live out the rest of their days in a moderately comfortable existence on the isolated far side of the Moon mining precious Helium-3 to drive colonization.

A two hundred meter corvette, the 'Protector' is armed with twenty railgun autonomous point defense turrets mounted on redundantly interconnected magnetic levitation rails that allow vertical and horizontal movement along the hull, in addition to heavy nuclear missiles, a heavy railgun, and a complement of fifty starfighters. Five laser active protection systems which utilize both soft kill and hard kill measures are standard, not to mention one meter by one meter spherical unmanned probes that in coordination with the onboard sensors and supercomputer make launching guided missiles at the starship a costly affair. Protectors are designed to be fast, as well as strongly armored and shielded. Due to swarms of nanobots being embedded into the hull, the starship can gradually repair external damage over the course of a battle. Regarding shields, they can be concentrated and layered as needed.

Official Name: The Noble Confederacy.

Flag:

Leader:

Government Type:
Each planet is under the control of a planetary governor, who reports to the board of galactic governors. The galactic board of governors pulls in new members from the planetary governors which is a lifetime appointment. The galactic board is totalitarian in their actions and is the controlling party. The Predecessor works with the board.

Political Relations:
They have no pre-existing alliances or dislike of any nation.

Society

Capital:

Population:
460,007,600 total.

Species:
Human/A-Type Human/B-Type Human

Demographics:
66% Pure Strain Human > Common human.
13% Genetically Altered B-Class Human > Lower nobles of lesser families.
1% Genetically Altered A-Class Human > Governor, diplomats, or ranking military.
20% Lii'dra > Aliens.

Language:
Sino-English creole.

Culture:
The planetary governors are elected by the people every ten years, with no term limit. They control the planetary militia which is meant to be used as a defense force, and cannot raise a formal army or else the Galactic Board will step in.

Religion:
79% Ancestor Veneration.
11% Predecessor Veneration
10% Atheist.

History:
The Noble Confederacy was the result of a voyage by private corporate backers to explore a previously unknown star system. The ship was populated by both Chinese and many European racial groups, exclusively. During the voyage, infighting became common as the two groups differences became apparent and the cramped quarters exacerbated race issues. Eventually, the Europeans staged a small coup followed by extensive political purging that regulated the Chinese to second class citizenship. This system was maintained for the remainder of the journey and during the inital colonization of the star system. The two classes were extensively segregated. A few revolutions were attempted by the Chinese over the one hundred year period, but they were always squashed and erased from history by the administration. The Europeans and Chinese did not procreate together save for a few isolated cases, as it was punishable by law. As the two classes' genomes diverged, a Chinese revolutionary named Chao Wan realized his opportunity. Wan managed to obtain enough training, materials, and information to successfully bioengineer a lethal pathogen that would exclusively target the Europeans genome, and subsequently released it. Although the ruling class attempted to isolate itself from the pathogen, they could not manage to stem the revolutionaries and the disease that was crippling them at the same time.

Seizing control, this self-taught bioscientist was nominated as the new leader of the Chinese ethnostate in whatever form it took. Wisely, while simultaneously declining calls for him to become the new monarch, Chao Wan created the legal codex of the Confederacy and dubbed the nation the Noble Confederacy.

The Noble Confederacy emphasizes free market values over human rights values. Planetary governors are essentially vassal kings, with the various powerhouses of respective planetary industry as their subordinates.

The Golden Age of the Noble Confederacy emerged, and during this time the fledgling human nation unavoidably experienced the rise of social classes once more, albeit this time with only one racial group dispersed within them. One hundred years passed as industry emerged and a roaring economy was developed. Work was abundant and the Noble Mark was adopted as the uniform currency. The Galactic Board decided against directly establishing contact with SOL in the interest of allowing themselves enough time to develop, as not to allow null-sovereignty claims have any legitimacy. Eventually, the humans launched their search for extraterrestrial life using nuclear powered probes equipped with FTL engines. One particular probe reported that an object of difficult to quantify size was approaching it, opposite to the direction that an adjacent asteroid field was rotating the gravity well of a neutron star. The Noble Confederacy lost contact with the probe for a short time before its signal was regained, this time with an energy signature matching the large object following behind.

The probe's signal was isolated by the Galactic Board as first contact was thought to be imminent. Messages in an unknown language began to be fed through the probe. To the Boards apprehension, this unknown race appeared to be willing to communicate. The messages were found to be instructions in the races communications and mathematics, but no response was sent to the human attempts to return messages. The object was projected to enter the Noble system within one Solarian year from the time of first contact. During this time, the Galactic Board repeatedly shot down demands from planetary administrations for preparations for war. A syndicate between the governments of Ermo and Strau successfully overthrew the Governers Board, resulting in a civil war erupting. Caliphos and Kern fought Ermo and Strau, who desired a to attack the aliens before any risk could occur. During this period, Caliphos and Kern were designed as the Loyalists, while Ermo and Strau were designed the Revolutionaries. The Loyalists attempted to warn off the approaching aliens to no avail. The two warring factions continued fighting one another until the alien vessel arrived. Ermo surrendered as the alien vessel entered the solar system. Strau fired all missiles at its disposal, declaring the governor of Ermo a traitorous coward. The missiles successfully damaged the alien vessel, before it returned fire in the form of a searing heat ray. Thousands of miles of land and sea were simultaneously carbonated or instantly boiled. Witnessing the power of the race, the governor of Strau finally surrendered and disappeared from his post.

Following the chaos, the previous government body was re-established. The administrations from Ermo and Strau were both tracked down and executed for treason. The hastily reformed human government busily attempted to clear the thousands of tons of war debris from its local space, like a child scrambling to clean their room as a parent came home, and attempted to formally make contact. The aliens finally responded.

They identified themselves as the Lii'dra, and stated that they did not want to communicate until they were sure that they were dealing with an organic race and not a synthetic one who was more likely to have amassed more power than their own. The Lii'dra informed the humans that they were a nomadic people who could not remember their home planet which was destroyed by a black hole approaching their system of origin. Surprisingly, the castes of the Lii'dra were able to find many parallels with the human society and vise versa. The Governers Board proposed that the Lii'dra remain in the Noble system in a state of cooperation, as a member of the Noble Confederacy. The Lii'dra accepted. They reported that they had little choice, as they had not expected so many projectiles to be fired from Ermo at once and couldn't prevent extensive damage to their ship. As reparation, the Lii'dra were granted permission to exterminate six tenths of both Revolutionaries planets, with the remaining four tenths forced to actively participate in killing one fourth of their own. Over the period of a year, the Loyalists looked the other way as the two planets experienced genocide on a planetary scale.

The Lii'dra, their sense of justice fulfilled, integrated into the human Confederacy. The Governors Board finally feels that the time has come to reestablish contact with distant Sol.

Economics

Economy Type: Closed socialist. Items are distributed based on need and no trade is done with other systems.

Currency:
None. The economy is closed and centrally planned.

Status:
The economy is in a recession due to the unstable realities of socialism and the bureaucracy-fueled disparity between reality and expectations. Also, the fact that a costly civil war was fought. [6/10]

Dominance

Homeworld:
Caliphos, a once planet lush and filled with minerals, that is now a hollow shell of what it once was. Factories and drab buildings fill the surface of the planet. The only traces of wilderness are the few weeds and unhealthy shrubs that scrape by between concrete and stone.

Controlled Systems:
Lacaille 9352 was the original designation of the star system. Following the Noble's rise to power, the system was renamed to Noble.

There are eight planets in the solar system, one of which is habitable, six more of which are terrestrial, of those three are uninhabitable due to their toxic and corrosive atmospheres. The final planet is a gas giant.

Ermo, Kern, and Strau, are the three rocky planets. Each is as equally dystopian and industrial as the homeworld. There is torus station on the outer rim of the star system, constructed using mostly recycled remains of the original company ship that brought the colonists. It is a major military defense installation of the system.

Galactic Influence:
None. Their system is isolated by choice.

Military

Description:
The military caste will relentlessly attempt to use forward attacks, never using defensive tactics. They do not use blitzkreig-like tactics, however, and prefer to steadily beat back the enemy and demonstrate that nothing can halt their advance.

Branches:
Lii'Dra Warriors.
Army.
Aerocorps.

Doctrine:
Others should join the confederacy, whether economically or by force.

Heroes

Official Name:
United Vima Republic

Leader:
Kodi Richard
Government Type:
Republic

Political Relations:
They have no alliances or hatred to any faction at the moment, as they tend to keep to themselves..

Society

Capital:
Soinia(So-E-nah)

Population:
13,35,729,333

Species:
Human and Qua'tary(qwa-tar-ie)

Qua'tary are a strange alien species that are humanoid like, but taller and with horns, tails, usually red skin, with varying eye colors. Some humans refer to them as demons given their appearance. Though they are quite ferocious in a fight. Military Qua'tary will wear the same clothes as other military personnel, but most of the civilian Qua'tary wear clothes that resemble medieval times. Though they ate slowly embracing human clothing. They act just as humans do, nothing different besides appearance and maybe religion...

Demographics:
45% Human
30% Qua'tary
25% half human half Qua'tary
Language:
Mainly English
Qua'tary speak Latin, but also speak English
(they also speak another language but I don't have the brain power to make it up)
Culture:
Humans and Qua'tary both celebrate old earth American holidays, along with qua'tary holidays/celebrations. But there is one thing they all participate in, Blood shed's day, where each race go to an old war torn planet to reenact the last battle fought between each race. Simulation ammo is used and shock weapons are also used. Each side lost its share of people, this is to remember that the war between them would only bring pain and suffering to each side. Civilians on each side fought on that planet... Holograms are placed in historically documented spots to show both the dark side and light side of each side..

Religion:
Most of the humans are Atheist, with a small minority being christian and jewish. Qua'tary's religion is not easy to explain, as they believe in higher beings like any other religion, but they do not worship in a normal way... They worship by living their lives day by day, with one month(Detuln-meaning celebrate-) where they celebrate the day of the elders birthdays. Some Qua'tary live quite a long time, up to 700-1000 years, just some, maybe like .5% of their population. The eldest of the humans are also treated to this celebration, as the Qua'tary understand that humans don't live as long. The month is celebrated with a lot of food and old music from both races.

History:
UVR was built after the first contact war between the humans and qua'tary, the war lasted for a whole year, with many casualties on each side. The war proved nothing but territorial nonsense, the republic was formed and has since stayed strong.
The humans came from a dying system, fleeing a black hole that was slowly slowing it whole.. Many were lost, but even more were saved... They traveled in cryosleep for many years before arriving in the Vima system, they settled down on a world they thought was void of intelligent life, they were wrong.. The colony that was set up on the planet was attacked by a raiding force of Qua'tary
