The view screen showed several views of a smoking crater that used to be an apartment complex, flames and smoke still rising up from the rubble as the first responders desperately worked to try and find survivors in the ruins. Four people sat in the plush office, watching the rescue efforts; two men and two women, three of which were well dressed in expensive silk suits while the fourth was wearing the uniform of a high ranking officer in the Army. For a long moment, the four watched the footage in silence before the middle-aged woman behind the large oak desk speaks:

"Do we have any idea on the civilian casualty count yet, General?"

The man in the uniform, the General, replies, "No, Madam Prime Minister. The numbers are still coming in."

"Hmm."

The silence stretched on, before the General speaks again, "Madam Prime Minister, I must stress that-"

"You must be silent, General. Your men ran into a monster and they panicked. It was not the demon that caused these deaths, but your Self Defense Force! They are using the equivalent of a sledgehammer to squash a fly, and this is the result of that kind of firepower being used in the city limits by inexperienced soldiers. Go ahead. Tell me I'm wrong."

The General shifts in his seat uncomfortably, then replies, "Madam Prime Minister, we have limited expertise on dealing with these extra-dimensional threats, even after all this time. There is just not much experience in Hiroshima on the part of the Self Defense Force in dealing with things . . . like what was hiding there."

Clearing his throat, the second man in the room says, "No offense meant to General Tanaka, but he is using a broadsword to operate on a person when a scalpel is needed. I repeat my request, Madam Prime Minister, for us to bring in outside experts from the Empire. My communications with my counterpart in the Empire has proven to be constructive, and I have a list of names of potential recruits that can be brought in to help us. Right now, with the talks that are underway between us and the Empire over the gift of the Millenium Tree sapling, this is the ideal time to bring in these outside experts."

The woman behind the desk looks over at the second man, saying, "Minister Feng, is this the officer you have spoken of?"

"Yes, Madam Prime Minister. This is Major Kelly Izumo. She is an ideal candidate for heading up this special unit, along with a handful of hand-picked officers from the police and military force, working along-side the experts that I wish to bring in."

The Prime Minister looks like she has just taken a big bite into a lemon. "I have seen this list you have suggested. Are you seriously considering this bunch of . . . monsters? One is a dragon, for god's sake, and the other is some kind of fox-spirit! Then there is the officer you propose to help fill the ranks of this special unit. A man with mind powers and an alien life form stuck to his neck?"

Minister Feng nods. "Yes, Madam Prime Minister. Who better to face off against these demons besides beings like these? This is an unusual request, I grant you, but these are desperate times."

Still looking displeased, the Prime Minister looks over at Major Izumo, saying, "Major, have you seen the list of potential recruits?"

"Yes, ma'am, I have. Minister Feng and I have discussed these candidates extensively, and I am confident that we can make a difference." The Major looks over at the monitor where the camera was showing a body bag being taken to a waiting transport. "The alternative is more of - this."

The woman behind the desk is silent for a long time as she, too, watches the video feed. Finally, she lets out a sigh. "Very well, Minister Feng. You may assemble this team of yours, but remember, any missteps will reflect badly upon you."

Detective Ando Oda currently finds himself sitting across the desk of the chief of police of Hiroshima, having been summoned to the head office for some unknown reason.

When you entered the office, you were greeted by a friendly handshake and a pleasant smile as Chief Todoka is wrapping up a phone call. The whole vibe of the meeting is not one of impending doom, but instead the Chief seems to be in a good mood and is not about to lower the boom on Ando.

Motioning for you to take a seat, the Chief settles into his own chair and says, "Relax, detective. You are not about to get chewed out. This is instead a job offer." He looks over at a computer screen, and on it, you can see your personnel file. "I have been tasked by the army and the Bureau of Metahuman Affairs to provide them with one of my detectives for a special team that is being formed, and your name is at the top of the list of people I am considering for that job."

He looks at you carefully, trying to judge your reaction to what he's saying. "This is going to be a specialized team designed to track down and eliminate supernatural threats to the city. I'll be frank with you; this is going to be dangerous. But, with your special talents," he taps his head to indicate your mental powers, "you should be able to provide that edge to be a real asset to this unit. I must warn you, though, there will be a few specialists coming in from the Empire to aid this team. Do you feel that you can work along side these foreign agents?"

Detective Ando Oda had gotten used to the way that his superiors always treated him since he had gotten his powers, it was either like he was a dangerous weapon to be feared or like a kid who had some amazing but dangerous toys.

As soon as the Chief tapped his head to imply Ando's own "mental powers", Ando flashed the Chief a half grin, a knowing nod, and a finger gun.

Ando felt his symbiote, whom Ando called Ix, express an odd confusion at the gesture. Ando spoke in his mind to the being that was a part of him. Just roll with it Ix, it is fine, I suspect the Chief wants me out of his hair for now anyway.

And then a familiar voice came unbidden into his mind. "Daddy, Mom is going to call you soon to get your signature for a field trip for me."

A feeling of warmness and love came from Ix at the mental message from Ando's daughter Mei.

Mei clearly picked up on the feeling "Oh HI Ixy!"

Ando shut and open his eyes to try and maintain a neutral face despite the conversations going on in his head between him, his daughter, and the symbiote attached to his body, and the conversation between him and the Chief of Police.

Give me a second dear, Ix...both of you...I am talking to my boss at the moment, it is hard enough to focus on one conversation.

Ando felt a feeling of remorse from Ix.

"So yes Chief, I..." Then Ando's cell phone buzzed. Ando stopped, pulled out his cell phone, and silenced it without even looking at it.

Told ya she would call Daddy...

Ando recovered. "Sorry about that Chief, just my ex." He then continued. "You are asking me about working with the Empire? I was stationed in Shiso for five years, working hand in hand with them..." There goes the Chief again focusing on my powers and not on my history, I bet he has never read my file. "...many of their leaders are very wise. I received a commendation for a river rescue involving Imperial citizens. I have no objection at all working with anyone from the Empire, I have never had a bad experience with them."

Sitting beneath the welcoming branches of the Millennium Tree, we come across a monk in quiet meditation. Even with her eyes closed, Kimi can sense the fact that she is not alone. But this is no ordinary figure; it is Oran, the leader of the order of sohei monks that have dedicated themselves to the protection of Kyoto's Tree.

Without saying a word, the old man kneels down next to Kimi and waits. He knows his presence was felt, and her is in no hurry to disturb the young dragon as she seeks her inner self.

When she finally opens her eyes, Oran says, "I hope I do not disturb you, little sister, but it is time for you to prepare for a journey. As you know, the Tree has gifted a sapling to the envoy of the Republic. It is hoped in many circles that there be a strengthening of ties between the Republic and the Empire, just as it is hoped by some that the two powers stay divided. This gift must be protected, and I have been asked by those I respect to help the Republic with aid in their efforts to stop the wave of evil from destroying everything they have struggled to maintain. It is my thought that you, dear sister, would be a true help to the Republic. Not only to protect the Tree, but to safeguard the budding ties that are forming between these two nations."

He is quiet for a moment to let you mull over what he has said. "I know that this is going to be difficult for you, leaving here after so many years. But I can see that your time to shine has come. Can I count on you to help the peace that is struggling to take root?"

Fukuizumi Fuyumi is lying back in an exam table as Dr. Ido, her Cyber Doc, runs a scan of her organic brain and how it is linked to her cyber body. He watches the screens closely, looking over lines of data as he moves the scanner slowly across your armored skull. With a satisfied nod, he says, "I think we are past any fears of rejection. Your brain is showing no signs of cyber brain sclerosis, and you appear to be completely integrated with your new body. You are quite the success story, if I do say so myself."

Dr Ido presses a control and the bed stands up, letting you step off and onto the floor. As your are gathering up your clothes to get changed out of the hospital gown, Dr Ido nods over at the observation window. "It looks like you have a visitor."

Looking out, you see the familiar face of Minister Feng, the very man that you risked your life for and, in return, he helped you get the cyber body that has kept you from being a quadriplegic. Once he notices that you have seen him, the Minister heads off to wait for you in the next room.

Once you are dressed, you find yourself looking at the Minister, one of his aides, and another woman in an Army uniform, with the rank of Major. Her name tag says Izumo.

Feng smiles as you approach. "It is good to see you doing so well, my friend. Allow me to introduce you to another good friend of mine, Major Kelly Izumo. Major, this is the guardian angel I have spoken to you about, Fukuizumi Fuyumi."

The Major offers up a slight bow in greeting, saying, "It is a pleasure to finally meet you."

Feng looks at you and says, "My trip here today is twofold in purpose. The first and most important is to see how your are doing in your new body. According to Dr Ido, he is very pleased with how well you have adapted to it. The second reason is to hopefully impose upon you a favor. I am assembling a team of the best and brightest that I can get my hands on, and you are now uniquely qualified to be a part of this team, to be led by Major Izumo."

"i trust that you have seen the news of the demon that fought several suits of powered armor the other day, causing such a loss of life? We are going to be taking several steps to keep such disasters from happening, one of which is the team that is being forged under the Ministry of Metahuman Affairs to hunt down these monsters before they can do the kind of damage that was done. There are several experts in magic that are coming over from the Empire that will provide their technical expertise and . . . unique abilities . . . to this cause. I am of the opinion that you would be very helpful in this, using your talents and the new cyber body you have, to help us all. I won't sugar coat this; it is likely to be very dangerous. But it is for an outstanding cause that would save lives."

As Kimi meditates, she is focused on a nearby tree, covered in beautiful pink blossoms. She recalls a story she was told about one of the monks of the monastery that had spend twenty years in search for the perfect cherry blossom, only to realize that they were all perfect in their own way. She thinks to herself, One could do worse with their time than look at flowers.

She is silent as Master Oran joins her, and when Kimi finally opens her eyes, she smiles at the old monk. "Greetings, Master, and be welcome. What brings you to seek me out on this spring day?" Listening to Master Oran, she feels a flash of both excitement and anxiety. Being sent away from the monastery for the first time since she was hatched? Truly a life-changing event.

"It has been said that all it takes for evil to win is for good men to do nothing. How can I sit idly by and let people suffer when I have at my disposal the ability to do something about it? Yes, I will offer up my support to this Republic, using my own skills and knowledge to help protect the peace and safeguard the Millennium Tree as it is taken to Hiroshima, and I will be honored to work with the agents of this Republic to sustain the welfare of the citizens of the city."

She rises to her feet, looking at Master Oran. "When do I leave?"

The foxiest of inari's messengers is currently in Kyoto, enjoying a cup of saki in one of the cities many bath houses as he relaxes after a long day, soaking his worries away. When you've finally gotten your fill of soaking and saki, you head out of the bath to a changing room where your robes are waiting for you.

As you begin to towel off, you can see that there is a familiar gold scroll sitting on top of your sandals, a message scroll from Inari. Written in glowing golden text, the message reads:

My dear Snowfall,
A great evil has set its eyes upon the budding alliance that is taking place between the Empire and the Republic, an alliance that will come to benefit all of Japan. Go to the sohei temple art the Millennium Tree and seek out Master Oran. He is sending his student, Kimi, to the city of Hiroshima to help the Republic defend against repeated incursions of oni and other demons, and they can use your wisdom and many other skills in this endeavor. He has been in contact with agents of the Republic, and they know to expect you.

Be safe, my dear foxy messenger.

Inari

"Ahhh!"

Sake cup in his currently-human hand, Snowfall the Kitsune lazes peacefully and alone in his onsen (Japanese bath) enjoying the quiet and majestic scenery of the New Empire city of Kyoto. With the warm waters gently pulling out the stresses inside of his body, Snowfall marvels at the panorama before him. Daylight, soft and gold, drifts over the busy yet ancient city, bathing all below it in life and brightness. The radiance comes and goes like passing dreams as the clouds move in between the sunlight and all of Kyoto. A haiku by Haiku Master Basho forms in his mind, his thought-provoking poetry still enjoyed centuries after his passing:

In Kyoto,
hearing the cuckoo,
I long for Kyoto.
-Basho (Source: PoetryFoundation.org)

His young-looking hand happily grasping his cup, Snowfall enjoys his sake until the cup is empty. Then he rises slowly from the bath, the water slipping down the furless skin of his human form to collect in noisy droplets at his unclawed feet and toes. He looks like a 25-year-old at the moment. Five feet tall, unusually handsome as all kitsune tended to be, with lean and able muscles. He feels young again too. His thoughts drift along with the water.

"Here I am again. Kyoto! How things have changed! How I used to hide like a ninja who and what I was until the proper moments back before the Cataclysm. And now? I can walk freely in my new Kitsune form if I so wish! In public! How liberating! How divine!"

"凍る砂" by Arai Akino - such beautiful music! =)

But then he spies something new, something unexpected, laying unobtrusively upon his sandals. Why, he would recognize that style of scroll anywhere! That scroll-style meant... Inari!

Snowfall's heart races as it always does when he thinks of that most-celebrated of all spirit in Japan - Inari! When had this message arrived? Which form did she take this time? Were these summons for some new adventure? As one of Inari's many happy and loyal servants, where was Snowfall off to this time? Drying himself off completely, he bows serenely to the scroll touched by the greatest of Japanese spirits lying so patiently atop his sandals (of which its laces he is now unlikely to ever wash again). Clearing his mind of all distraction, Snowfall sits quietly and slowly reads and rereads the content of this precious scroll until he has memorized the scroll and its heavenly-written contents.

Once finished, he sheathes it and slips it into its scroll case with the intent of keeping it for as long as he exists - this scroll is now as close to his being as his own beloved spirit-garment and more precious than anything he owns. A scroll writ by Inari! As such, he finds where he keeps his beloved magical lunchbox, that delightful gift from Terra the Atlantean's parents in Clan Draco Amicus. He slips the box out of that place and replaces it with the scroll bearing Inari's own handwriting. The honor he experiences in this moment make him feel taller than Mount Inari here in Kyoto!

But... Inari's personal message to him stirs and whirls in his heart like an oncoming tsunami.

"Oni! In the Republic? I suppose it was only a matter of time, but... to the magnitude that their cyborg and Banshee-emboldened forces desire the help of... the Emperor himself? Serious talk of an alliance?" A great many thoughts arise in a very short period of time as all of Snowfall's 750+ years of existence race through his mind like untroubled clouds, each thought its own shape, some dark and some light - just like the clouds in the sky.

"Talk of the New Empire joining hands with the Republic of Japan against the oni hordes?! It is about time!" Snowfall would ask "what took them so long?" but he feels he knows. With great certainty, he has strong guesses as to why these factions have not joined forces before against the oni hordes that threaten them all. He gathers his things and prepares for serious travel. Once readied, he becomes a fox. Not an ordinary fox, but a snow-white nine-tailed fox excitedly hopping around the bath! "And he wants me! ME! To assist! Oh, the joy!"

Once he has finished his preparations, he puffs out his chest. "Nooow! Nooww... is the time... for action!" With his forepaw, he touches his pectoral muscle in a familiar manner. "Off to the Millennium Tree! Blazing Comet tattoo! Leeet's gooo!" With a running and mighty leap into the air (mighty for a fox), Snowfall takes to the air and sails above the onsen (okay, maybe about four feet above it or so)...

... and falls face-first into the bath he just quitted with a great splash!

Soaked to the bone, Snowfall looks up to the heavens, his fur dripping-wet. His head is hung low. "When is it finally going to get through my head that I am no longer an Atlantean-trained Tattooed Dimensional Voyager? Perhaps this is the why behind my becoming a Dragon Trail Walker? For the older I become, the more - not less - I seem to have to learn."

Soggy and feeling heavy, Snowfall starts getting ready all over again from the beginning.

A short time later, Snowfall, now a sharply-dressed Japanese male in a red kimono who looks just like the younger man he was in the onsen - but with some fifty years added to him - rides along the streets of Kyoto in a sturdy palanquin carried along by two equally-sturdy humans in great health. The Kitsune sighs with great satisfaction. Called to adventure by Inari once again! Would he ever tire of it? He strongly doubts it.

He enjoys these thoughts along with the the palanquin's "taxi-ride" to the Sohei temple in Kyoto inside the Millennium Tree to meet Master Oran and his student, Kimi. As his body travels across Kyoto, he listens to the rhythmic jogging feet of his palanquin carriers, and in his ancient mind, a Haiku poem of his own forms.

Gently as the passing clouds, his words flow from his mouth as he speaks to himself.

"Young feet hurry on
Carry me to my duty
All for Inari!"

The table really was cold on her back, she told herself as she looked up at the lights that really were bright to her eyes. She squinted, not out of reflex, as she did not need to. She could adjust the lenses, if she had wanted but chose not to. The light was not really there, for her, just as the chill of the table was not there either. Sensations picked up by her cybernetic eyes and synthetic flesh, translated into the appropriate feeling based on which sensory receptor was receiving it, the signals transmitted to her brain and translated once more into a simulacrum of that sensation. It had not been so long that she had forgotten what a cold table felt.like against real skin, or the feeling of staring into a light. It might have been easier if she had forgotten, as she would not be able to tell the differences as clearly. It was a miniscule difference, aided by her own conscious interpretation of those feelings, but a difference nonetheless. Like that of a real banana to that of artificial banana flavors. It was long since past disturbing or disorientating. It was in the stages of surreality, before the final stage of not even thinking about it at all. Or so it was that her Cyborg Conversion support group had explained to ger.

As Dr. Ido spoke his diagnosis, she was glad that these inspections no longer held the need of being invasive. "Thank you, Doctor, I've had a lot of help from you and the others, in getting this far. More of a testament to your skill than my resilience." It was still a relief to hear. She had heard plenty of horror stories of the complications that could arise. But as smooth as the process had gone, was a compounded blessing as despite all expectations she felt... mostly normal.

As the good doctor notified her of her visitor, she looked over and indeed Minister Feng had been watching. Her own savior as much as she was his. She gathered her clothes, and put them on. An arbitrary accessory if one based it on practical need. Many cyborgs she knew did not even bother wearing them, but not every cyborg was given such a human body as she had. Knowing what could have been, she saw them now with a new appreciation. The ability to be modest in a body she might never have had again.

Her was body much like it had been before she had lost it. Sculpted with great care from photos, medical records, and her own memory. Sure she may have given herself a 'lift' in some areas, but when looking in a mirror, she could recognize herself from every angle. More praise that she would heap upon the doctors and engineers.

As for clothing... well... it took her a month to learn how to put them on herself without ripping them to shreds. Having adopted a ritual of donning and doffing said clothes had helped her greatly in learning the fine motor skills for this new body. Musing aside, she did not want to keep the Minister waiting. Hastily she garbed herself, undergarments, leggings, skirt, blouse, jacket. On the formal side of military dress, name tag, etc. She had a new body, she wasn't about to treat their hard work by being a slouch with it.

Outside she would meet with Feng and Izumo. Giving him a bow, and upon introduction, a bow to Izumo as well. And listened to his explanation.

While her first instinct was to deny the need of asking for a favor, as she would naturally comply, she would not do him the dishonor of implying there was any debt left between them, one direction or the other. It was a clean slate, now. He was a good and honorable man, and she would listen to him as such.

Smiling at him, Fuyumi returned, "It is good to see you as well, sir."

Looking to Izumo, "Major Izumo, ma'am." She had responded after her own bow.

Turning back to Feng. Before agreeing to the favor, knowing that she would say yes already, she listened to the explanation. And yes, she had indeed seen the news. Making it all the more shocking that she was about to help resolve it.

"I am honored by your reccomendation, sir. I have indeed seen the news, a tragedy by every means. I can't say that I haven't wished be there helping in some way. Dr. Ido has given me the final 'all clear'. I would be honored to be a part of the team, and I am eager to put this body to good use. I have not been discharged yet, it is my duty to serve this country still. Dangerous though it may be, I have been ensured that this body can withstand can withstand quite a bit of punishment. Even if it wasn't, you can count on me, sir, I won't let you down. You or Major Izumo."

Snowfall and Kimi are currently sitting in the passenger compartment of a military transport that was sent from the Republic to carry you back to the city of Hiroshima with several high ranking dignitaries and the sapling of the Millennium Tree. It is quite the honor guard that is coming along, because besides you there is another dragon flying along outside the transport with a squad of six SAMAS powered suits to help keep you safe for the rest of the trip.

Inside the transport there are three ministers from the Empire that are going along to show the growing support of the alliance between the two nations, with a small security detachment to be their bodyguards. It is hoped that the guards won't be needed since the exact date and time of your arrival is a closely held secret with only a small number with a "need to know" your are coming.

The feeling inside the transport is one of high spirits, with everyone looking forward to your arrival. You don't have too long to wait. The transport is due to arrive in the next fifteen minutes at one of the secure government high rise buildings where you are to be met by Minister Feng and several members of the ministry including the newly minted Section Six.

Psychie Psychie Dannigan Dannigan

The rest of the Section Six team is on top of the Ministry of Metahuman Affairs building, expecting that your delivery of team members from the Empire will be arriving soon with several VIPs and some special cargo that is keeping everything hush-hush. The airspace around the Ministry building has been closed off for safety of the incoming dignitaries and there is a fully armed squad of ten soldiers in heavy gear on the rooftop besides yourselves, the Major, Minister Feng, and the Prime Minister herself.

The transport with the VIPs will be there in about fifteen minutes.

Kimi is sitting nervously inside the transport, her bare feet tucked up underneath her as she looks out the window at the ground far below. She is not too keen on being inside this aircraft, but she knows it can fly much faster than she can. Besides, it is such a rare thing to be able to sit back and enjoy the view, she might as well take advantage of it.

She looks out of the corner of her eye at the kitsune sitting next to her, wondering about her new acquaintance. Master Oran vouched for him, but he is still a mystery to her. Who is he? How is she supposed to act around him? If he were to say to her, 'Kimi, make some tea', is she supposed to do so? If it were Master Oran asking that, she knows how hot to make his water to please him, (Because even though she is a dragon, he is Master Oran!), but this Snowfall fellow? Kimi sighs, thinking, I suppose that this is all a part of the 'new experiences' that I have to learn. Oh, joy for me. She looks out the window again, wishing that they were there already.

Ando Oda stood next to the Minister feeling very short and out of place amongst the heavily armed and armored army guard, and the massive cyborgs of his team. He would periodically peer out through his binoculars looking for the transport and it's escort.

He was still getting used to his new team their various titles and names. He knew little to nothing about his commanding officer, the Major, and the Minister. Their work was always very hush-hush, and well above his paygrade as an Inspector.

"um...Minister? Major? Do we have any intel on any potential groups that could and...or would have the gall to attack such a well defended transport? I would think gearing and moving such an attack force would be very hard to hide in the city, unless it is a Corporate Force and even then..."

Takuma was doing minor repairs to his borg body after the surgery had 3 months ago. He just heard that the clan had assigned him to a team of people that were supposed to represent both nations. Both of which could not care but seeing the paycheck and the fact that the kill switch was removed to make sure there were no outward manipulations happening, to which the boy was grateful for. The boy was about 16 years old with a few scars around his eye area where the bionic eye was placed, the surgeons were not gentle with this but it was a special grade made to look more human than machine but its circuity look does not hide the fact that its not organic.

He had Severl weapons concealed on his person but kept a simple sword and rifle visible to show that he is armed and not focus on the other weapons. He looked on the left then the right waiting for the VIP's to come. *Man I hope this is not another PR stunt cause that will be boring as hell*

The major looks over at Ando and says in a quiet voice, "There are various radical elements that have been spreading rumors of what might actually be behind the efforts to bring the two nations together, some of which are on our terrorist watch list. Also, there are some threats of increased oni and other monster activity that we have been brought together specifically to stop. I hope we are simply being paranoid with all of this firepower here, but the saying goes that even paranoid people have enemies."

She then looks off in the distance and says in a louder voice, "Minister Feng, the transport has been spotted passing the outer wall. Eta is five minutes." She is not wearing a earpiece, so it is likely that she received this message in an implant.

The old man nods. "Thank you, major. Everyone, keep alert. We do not want any trouble today."

Ando felt all of the sudden embarrassed and he quickly checked to made sure his radio earpiece had not fallen out, and then he checked the frequencies of his radio to make sure he was patched in to the ones his team had given him.

(Radio Basic Roll Failed)

He shook his head, as he realized that he did not even have his earpiece in and radio set up. So he quickly puts himself in order in doing so. Now he felt really out of place.

He kind of whispered to himself "Ah..it's been one of those mornings."

After getting his radio set up, he then adjusts his Infrared Distancing Binoculars and started to scan about for any movement anywhere around them in the skyline that could denote some sort of action moving in the direction of the transport.

(Anyone out there ready for a little fun?) 8D

Psychie Psychie (Hey Psychie! You bored by chance? 8D)

Appearing handsome and tall though not an inch over five feet in height, the crisply-dressed Dimensional Voyager Dragon Trail Walker relaxes in his chair, completely oblivious to the thoughts of the beauteous and possibly nervous Kumo-Mi hatchling-become-Sohei seated beside him. Snowfall believes she may be silent because she is nervous and given the situation and location, who could blame her? To her credit, Snowfall feels this too shows discipline on her part - a very valuable trait unknown to the vast majority of dragon hatchlings Snowfall has ever interacted with over the centuries. What to do?

Nothing!

If this Kimi had important questions for him, he hoped she would ask. Until then, he could only think waaay back when he was but a young kitsune-kit himself in the dreamlike spirit-world and equally nervous before the awe-inspiring power and shining majesty of immortal Inari! Though his situation with Kimi was altogether different, Snowfall remembered when he was young and nervous too! Best to just keep doing what it was he was doing until he stopped doing whatever... he was... doing or not doing. Security was well-covered. He really wasn't doing anything but waiting, now was he?

Snowfall comes to the conclusion he ought to find something to do while they wait to land atop the... what had they called it? "The Ministry of Metahuman Affairs" building? Hiroshima had an entire building dedicated to metahuman affairs? The people he and Kimi were being sent to advise and reinforce and Amaterasu Omikami-knew-what were called... 'metahumans?' Kids these days!

Snowfall decides to entertain himself by realizing where he is in this very moment - sitting inside the belly of a great mechanical flying contraption made no doubt by Japanese tech-makers of the highest quality! Yosh! Nobody beat the Japanese back in the 21st century when it came to making all manner of quality goods - or so Snowfall believed while he was there. Honda, Toyota, Yamaha, Toshiba, Sony - all household names the world over! What would the people of the 21st century think of Hiroshima here? Today?

Snowfall looks at all of the fancy electronics and options all about the enormous vessel. No one was asking him any questions, so he feels he might as well find something to do! And what was this? Here in the very arm of his chair? A pair of portable headphones! Oh my! Just like on the jet-planes of old! He had not played with any serious technology since he arrived at the New Empire and here in the Republic of Japan, there was no better to be found in all of Asia! What might he hear inside of them?

Snowfall picks up the earbuds and gently inserts them into his currently-human ears. He touches a few buttons and adjusts the volume and waited. Oh my! What was this? Music?! And a song that he knew! Oh, how this was a humongous hit from that snappy South Korean guy back in the 21st century! Just about everyone loved it!

"PSY - GANGNAM STYLE(강남스타일) M/V"

So there is Snowfall happily and subtly bouncing to the beat and not paying attention to anything around him. Live in this moment! preaches Zen. And so he does! Oh, how it had made the technological world of Earth back then just dance, dance, dance! It entertained like no other - just like that fantastic piece of cinema only mere decades prior. Yes! What an original and fun-filled film!

"Big Trouble In Little China (1986) - Clip: Mortal Kombat (HD)"

But what was this?

The first song ended to be replaced by... a parody? Why, Snowfall knew what this was! The last time he had heard this was back before the Cataclysm! It still existed! The little kitsune could not believe his ears! OMG (or "O M Inari" if you want the greatest god ever)!

"Lo Pan Style (Gangnam Style Parody) Official"

Now he is bouncing in his seat; his safety belt is the only thing keeping him in it! It must be a strange sight - a beautiful female Sohei nun sitting next to an 80-year-old little handsome Japanese guy jammin' out, waving his hands, dancing, and serenading the young nun with, "Heeeyyy, green-eyed laaaydaaay!" and "David Lo Pan Style!"

Shigeru Fuchizaki is currently airborne in his Samauri SAMAS powered armor, one of six powered suits that are flying escort for the transport that has the special cargo of the Millenium Tree sapling and several VIPs, along with the last two members of the newly formed Section Six reaction team. In the air with you, besides the other five SAMAS suits, is a dragon, flying along outside the transport, its long, snake-like body twisting in the air. As the flight of powered suits and the transport approach the outer wall of the city of Hiroshima, the dragon raises up a clawed foot and waves, then it breaks off to the side, leaving you to guide the transport onto the Ministry of Metahuman Affairs building alone. This was not unexpected, so there is no concern being raised by the SAMAS force or the pilots of the transport as you continue to approach the landing pad on the roof of the tall building.

Air traffic around you has been rerouted away from your flight path, keeping the sky around you free of any possible sources of trouble as you make your final approach to the Ministry's headquarters building. At the moment, the sky is clear, and hopefully it will stay that way.

Off in the distance, you can see the Ministry building, and the welcoming committee waiting for you to land. From what you have been told, Prime Minister Xu herself will be there to meet your passengers.

Kimi looks at Snowfall with more than a bit of amusement as she watches him dance and gyrate around in his seat. She thinks with a smile, Well, things will most certainly not be boring with him around. Shifting about in her seat, she looks out of the window and notices that their dragon escort outside the aircraft has broken off and is flying back the way they came. At least we still have the powered suits flying with us. We aren't alone up here.

Looking around, she asks out loud, "How much longer are we going to be in the air here? I am feeling rather anxious being locked in this airship."

Psychie Psychie But when Kimi looks back, she finds she is seated beside a strikingly handsome 20 year old who looks like he could run his own J-Pop band. It looks very much like the old man who was here... except now he is 60 years younger and smirking up at her, his arms crossed confidently. His skin is smooth, all wrinkles gone. His healthy face and mysterious eyes - eyes like twin storms - paint a picture that could be on display as a virtue in itself. If ever Kimi has heard of kitsune being attractive, and magnetic creatures, before her now is living proof.

But he is not here to magnetize, but to learn. In a young and sure-sounding voice, he asks her without a judging tone. "And what, by Inari, has become of today's generation of Sohei? The previous generations valued patience. Will any of your anxiousness make our journey one heartbeat shorter?"

Now Snowfall is looking up at her meaningfully, all jokes gone, his eyes searching hers in his own patient wait for her to think on this and reply. Snowfall the kitsune wants to know her true answer; he seems to hope he has done what it takes to receive it.

Kimi smiles, thinking that this person sounded a lot like Master Oran after all. "Patience is one thing, but being stuck inside a metal tube that is flying through the air is quite another. I would prefer to be out in the open, but duty requires me to be here with the Tree, escorting it to Hiroshima. I don't have to like it, but there are many things in life that we must endure and overcome that we don't have to like. Once we have landed, I'll be much more at ease."

As Fuchizaki flies ahead of the transport he's escorting, he eventually stops and lands on the roof with a slight thud, though not enough to crack the concrete, likely due to his slightly lanky frame reducing how much weight the armor is carrying. He guides the transport with the special cargo to the landing pad, keeping a watchful eye and looking both ways to ensure a safe landing. Once he's satisfied that there's nothing to impede the landing, his mind is made up.
"Okay, come on!" he calls out, motioning for the pilot to land.

Psychie Psychie Steve Freeling Steve Freeling Snowfall listens with patience to Kimi's every word, smiling as he cherishes the moment.

"But until we land, your restless mind will not be at ease," Snowfall concludes. He points outside of the window the young dragoness was just peering through. "And look what we have out there! Armored soldiers hurried through the air by pillars of fire and technology!" Once again, Snowfall looks at Kimi with meaning. "Like or not like, are these not fantastic sights never seen in all the New Empire?"

Snowfall points at the SAMAS that so happens to belong to Fuchizaki as it speeds by them as if drawn by some invisible chariot of the gods - a power armor modeled after the samurai of old - Japan's greatest warriors!

" Live in this moment! Start, young nun, by telling me... what do you see?"

Again, Kimi smiles, then she carefully looks out the window. If she were to make the mistake of saying, 'I see nothing' to Master Oran, he would hit her in the head with his staff for being a fool. Seeing that this Snowfall fellow walks in the same footsteps as Master Oran, she knows better than to just shrug off the sights outside the window. "I see . . . a vast metropolis unlike any that I have ever seen before. Even Kyoto looks different than this place, a monument of glass and steel rising up into the sky. Swaths of green criss-cross the city, showing that even in our past the residents of this city valued nature and beauty around them. Then there are the flying suits, zipping about us like fireflies on their pillars of flame." She then tries to expand her vision, looking for any invisible beings outside the aircraft to add their description to this wise kitsune.

Snowfall turns down the music in his earbuds and focuses on Kimi's description. She has the closer seat to the window and her human form is taller than his, so her view is that much more improved. He closes his eyes and meditates upon the vision she creates with her mind and words.

He finds her descriptions wonderful - for who can see through the mind of a dragon-nun? Unlike before, Snowfall believes she sees - and now appreciates - what was once simply a vision below their vessel.

"Kimi-chan," he chooses to use that honorific now. "How amazing! It seems your anxiousness... has fled! Where could it have gone?" He gazes up at her face as she looks outside.
