Dice Return to Creation - Exalted Essence OOC

This is set in the standard Second Age, with characters that have been away from Creation for many thousands of years of external time but having only experienced fifteen to twenty years of subjective time. Your science mission was launched in the early days of the First Age, expecting you to be gone for an Enterprise-esque five year mission that went horribly wrong.

Okay, so something similar to Star Trek? If that's the case I need to rethink my character because I was seeing something completely different in my mind lol.

Kinda/sorta. Kal Bax wanted to explore the deep Wyld, and had gathered together a crew of mortals and a small group of Exalts to help make his explorations possible, but the ship was hit by a bizarre storm of Wyld energies that warped time subjective to you onboard the ship. The time dilation trapped you for many years, and as you are finally able to limp out of the storm and make your way back to Creation, you quickly learn that things are very different from what you remember when you left, even accounting for a score of years going by.

Okay, and the Wyld is like space for us? I'm just trying to make sure I fully understand the setting so please forgive me lol.

Not quite space, since it can support life under the right conditions. The ship, Mandate of Sol, is heavily shielded from the Wyld, but even so, it got damaged by the power of the storm, and it artificially aged Kal Bax to an old, weak man that is being sustained by the ship's medical bay.

I did a little digging on the overall setting history. Given that we're running with the premise that our expedition began in the earlier parts of the first age before Autochthon left, I have a vague idea of where we started on the timeline.

If we're using 2E's canon, that puts us around the first hundred or so years since the Titans were defeated. Since we're technically in 3E canon though, anything is fair game, but it does slightly impact how I write up this character, now named Zenshi, and his family.

For the sake of helping me get my frame of reference straight, is year 100 in the right ballpark for our initial departure time? Sherwood Sherwood

Yes. Nice work there.

After giving it some really deep thought, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to dip out of this one. I hate doing it as I was really excited to play another Exalted rp and get more experience under my belt. I'm just not feeling a connection with this one and I'd rather not force it 😕 I'm so sorry.

Understandable, and thank you for letting me know instead of just ghosting.

Alright, my next question is on artifact weapon.

I wrote up something custom just to make countering concealment harder. Given I don't have room to buy/create evocations yet, does it meet with your approval for now?
FYI, Sherwood Sherwood upon further consideration, I'll drop the current attunement effect I'd written up for the artifact. The effect makes more sense to me as a personal mode purchase for Elusive Elemental Body later on. Especially since that charm is liable to be the source of the concealment anyway.

Other than that, I should be good to start. Minor weapon fiddling isn't worth holding things up for.

Sorry that I have been slightly distracted lately. I just got a Lego off brand model of the SDF-1 from Robotech that I’ve been assembling for the past several days. It is a beauty with 4,400 pieces. Right now I’m at work, but the location I’m at is slow so I should be able to get a lot of posting done.

First post is up. I took some minor liberties with your characters in the very start, so I hope you don’t mind. It will not be a common practice of mine.

Oh wow, just read the IC thread, what an exciting hook to start the story! My wife and I love TNG, so I'm excited to see where this goes! :)

It seems wild that a Chosen of Journeys didn't end up on this ship, but I'm not sure I want to play one. Of course, there might be a REASON Kal Bax didn't want any Sidereals on board...

Or maybe that's why everything goes wrong.

Perhaps the disconnection from fate in the Wyld led the Fivescore Fellowship to believe their assistance would be of limited value in this venture. They seem to be at their best within the confines of Creation and the influence of the Loom, after all. Or so one might rationalize.

So a ship needs a gunner, right? Therein lies my role. A Dawn Caste gunslinger who signed up to shoot whatever new and exciting (or ancient and terrifying) things might threaten the Mandate of Sol. Absolute adrenaline junkie action girl who is just hungry for chances to show off.

While I'm whipping things up quickly in plain text, I am curious about the pretty format y'all used in the characters thread.
