Dice Return to Creation - Exalted Essence OOC

My Liminal will be just crew, providing muscle and insights, they probably came with whomever has their Thread of Life.

I will need one of the circle to link their Thread of Life to, this is an intimacy that keeps them alive. Talc will be close to this circle member and through this thread know when their circle member is in grave peril, when they are killed, and if they became a ghost. Without a Thread of Life, Talc will rapidity decompose and lose one intimacy a week until they are reduced to a shambling animal like monster in about a month. (You can read more about it in the Liminal section of the book)

So if anyone is interested in being my characters “source of life and life link to the world” let me know.

I was planning on playing a lunar but I’d be done to play the token solar
If it affects your decision, I'm leaning Dragon-Blooded, not Lunar.

Though, I am considering writing this character as a part of Leviathan's forces at the time of our departure.

As tempting as it is to do the Air Aspect 3 Range-band rush close combat build again. I should probably exercise a bit of restraint. So I'm currently leaning Ebon Shadow Style.

Hmm, based on the already planned roles, I could look at putting together our token Solar. ;) Perhaps someone more scholarly who can lean into the sorcery/healer side of things.

Also, does anyone have a copy of Essence I could borrow to flip through?

You know the thought of being the solar engineer on the airship is tempting me from the Liminal. But I will let MasterDAF MasterDAF have first dibs on the solar.

I am wondering if the Liminal does not exactly fit this particular adventure? I will brainstorm some more ideas.

Haha, if you'd like to roll up a Solar engineer, please be my guest! :) I'm happy to change roles if you've got a fun idea to fill the Solar spot.

Thank you, that is very nice of you. I will work on some ideas for a solar engineer then. They probably will not be the most combat oriented (unless we can get Warstriders!) but more of a support character , which is fine with me.

I plan on adding some more details about the ship you are on and the mortal crew shortly.

Your return to Creation is going to be in the far north, so I suggest you pick up the language of the north along with Old Realm (obviously, right?). A Charm or two to help protect you against the perils of the weather might not be a bad idea.

I'll pick up Elemental Protection Technique then. It should cover our whole circle plus 3 extras. I've got a post up to keep track of where I'm at with character building and to help give folks a quick template if they wanna use it.

If any one has access to Wyld protection by the way, feel free to invest in that as well. Given our crew was supposed to be on an expedition into the wyld. Surely one of us has some means of protecting against it. Even if it's only a hearthstone.

I have pics of the airship on my computer at home, bit the basics of it that I’ll be putting up I’dm is that the ship is The Mandate of Sol. It has a crew of eighty, and smaller shuttle craft that has room for ten. The ship is designed for the rigors of the deep Wyld, and was originally intended for a five year exploration journey that stretched out for almost twenty years thanks to a tremendous Wyld storm that nearly destroyed the Mandate despite its protections.

The mission to explore the Wyld was launched in the early stages of the First Age when Autochthon was still in Creation, aiding the early Solars in the development of the Deliberative. Designed and planned out by the Solar artificer Kal Bax, he hand picked the assembled group of Exalts that serve on the Mandate. During the Wyld storm, he was seriously injured by the harsh energies and aged nearly to death. He is now a weak old man that cannot survive for long without frequent trips to the infirmary that sustain him.

Pictures of the Mandate of Sol and of Kal Bax are now in the top post of the Character Thread.

I’m stop working on my character. I might change a few Abilities around since my main weapon of my arm cannon can use Sagacity to target foes and doesn’t need a high Ranged Combat skill to be effective. I can move those points to another skill.

How is everyone coming along with their characters? I see some of you have submitted some works in progress and have started their sheets. Anyone have questions or concerns you need to bring up?

I’m working on my sheet little by little. The mental image is coming together very well. I just need to calculate all the combat values.

I am considering trying my hand at a Getimian, something a little more complicated than my typical characters. Is that an option?

I'm thinking (as his Origin) perhaps my character served as an officer aboard the Lawgiver's Justice within the air-corp detachment of the Creation-spanning Solar Empire's northern exploratory fleet. Their ship became lost in the deep wyld and was assaulted by an immense unshaped monstrosity that slew countless crew members and destroyed the flagship. He only survived because Glorious Golden Emperor Kal Bax sacrificed himself to put down the threat, and in doing so saved the few remaining crew but left them stranded at the wyld waypoint. After some time, character was the sole survivor and ventured deeper into the wyld to search for salvation. By the time he discovered the Mandate of Sol he had been changed by his tribulations into some kind of exalt he was not familiar with (Getimian). He was also surprised to find the ship commanded by his beloved Emperor still alive and commanding a wyld-delving journey (though Bax professed he was no Emperor and there was no reigning Solar Empire but instead a Deliberative of Celestial exalts). Character quickly swore allegiance to the Solar based on prior love and loyalty for the man, and joined the crew to aid in their mission (and possibly sow the seeds for a glorious Solar Empire to be birthed once again).

Shouldn’t my Lunar not have a caste considering he’s from the first age?

I had not thought about it, but yes. You would start out without a caste or Moonsilver tattoos. But the Wyld Hunt hasn’t chased the Lunar Exalts out to the Wyld to damage their castes, so if you want am the bonuses of a Full Moon you can get them.

I will need to ponder this idea. Off the top of my head, it doesn’t blow the game concept apart.

Okeydoke! I can adjust the concept if that helps so that my character returned to Creation before the Mandate of Sol left, thus already having spent some time acclimating to the world the party left behind.

Alternatively, I can roll up a different character if you don't want to deal with the Getimian non-reality Origin stuff. My plan B was somewhere around the lines of an Exigent blessed by Vanileth, the God of Artificial Flight. I figure a god like that couldn't pass up the opportunity to learn about a cutting-edge airship like the Mandate of Sol. As such, Vanileth petitioned for his exalted agent to have a place amongst the crew where they can spend their tour learning the ins and outs of the vessel with a plan to report their findings to him upon their return.

Whatever you decide, just let me know and I'll be happy to oblige. :)
