Life is a fickle thing. It's fleeting, unexpected and more often than not, taken for granted. It exists and thrives, keeps people here even if their existence is a dull one. However, there's one thing about life that will always be a never-ending truth; it's not forever. A person is doomed to die. Fated to leave their friends and families behind in an eternal slumber where they have no chance of waking. How this occurs they may have some say over—but, that is not always the case.
Welcome to Eldrich manor, an ancient castle that houses all sorts of hellish fiends and devils. Strewn all throughout the property are the corpses of those who had their lives cut short all too unwillingly. Now these poor souls are forced to walk the earth, sightless and without any true agency in how they exist. A legacy of serial killers and cannibals had left this sort of devastation in their wake; but, one night, upon an eclipse, there was one person who sought to draw forth all these spirits of the damned.
Rosemary Eldrich, an upcoming witch and a woman seeking atonement for her lineage, decides to resurrect these people. However, due to her inability to control her powers, she also manages to resurrect her murderous ancestors. With only a few days before the moon cycle ends, Rosemary and the reanimated must find a way to kill the murderers—or risk a truly permanent death.

001. This roleplay is meant for those who wish to enjoy a fast-paced storyline. However, I don't wish to rush anyone for responses. A minimum post requirement will be up to three times a week and/or more if possible. Other writing requirements feature third-person, past-tense style with a word limit of 100 to 1000 words. More is always appreciated; but anything less than a hundred words might not be possible due to the amount of action each character will be undergoing.
002.Please be aware that this will be a GRAPHIC roleplay. While we will 1000% be abiding by the rules set forth by rpnation, every character has been murdered and therefore underwent some form of trauma before they died. If you are uncomfortable with themes of torture, abuse and other tropes centered around the horror genre, this may not be the best roleplay for you to apply for.
003.Please do not harass or attempt to bully any other members of this roleplay. It's understandable that there might be some tensions due to the nature of this story; but, that doesn't give anyone the right to act less-than-respectably to others. If there are any OOC arguments, I hope the person/peoples involved will either seek me out or go to an administrator to report the person for harassment.
004. Relations between the characters will be greatly encouraged. Although it is not mandatory, these OCs will undergo various struggles where they must rely on others. Romance will also be allowed; but will by no means be the main focus of this story.

The resurrected are the poor souls who were once murdered by a member of the Eldrich family. How they died is a mystery; but, the fact is their demise was an unpleasant one. Now that they're alive, they finally have a chance to live a long life. How willing these people are to continue to exist is up to them. Just make sure they're watching their backs. It would be unfortunate if they somehow managed to die twice.

The others are other spirits who were never truly human. They could have been a supernatural creature who somehow became the victim of an Eldrich family member or merely a creature who saw the killer as a means of escaping their eternal prison. Whatever the case, they are now once more walking their earth—sans any of the powers or abilities they had when they were in their first life.
the staff (open)
The staff are the characters who have been under the employ of Rosemary. They had no clue as to what their mistress intended; and are now stuck in this waking nightmare. With little power and struck unawares of how dangerous the situation is, they are very much at risk of dying and becoming a victim to the very family they swore to serve.
