In the year 2019, their ships appeared suddenly in our skies all around the world to everyone's surprise. Where did they come from? How did they get here? What did they want? It was all anyone could think of first the first few hours as they stared in wonder to the heavens above at these visitors. This wonder would turn to panic as they attacked as swiftly as they came, practically bringing the world to its knees within the span of a few days. Government were toppled, and what little remained capitulated just as quickly to the aliens that had assaulted our world with little notice. And so began our enslavement to the interstellar empire known as the Universal Collective and the puppet government they installed in its stead, the United Earth Government.

For 10 years we have suffered as they exploited our peoples without a care in the world, and everyone has been too afraid to do anything about it. Rebellions were short-lived and quickly crushed under the ever present regime, and hope seems to be all but a distant memory by now. Especially since there are those willing to sell their own species out for what would be just a modicum of comfort in this new squalor. And now you find yourselves as victims of this regime, whether justified or not, being sent off to a re-education camp near Megacity 2. But as fate would have it... you will not arrive to that grim conclusion.

Welcome to Resistance, the alien occupation rp you always wanted to be a part of but dread of happening in the real world.

This RP is currently CLOSED. However, new slots will open up in the future as the story progresses further.

As GM, there are a few guidelines I will institute:

1. Be nice to each other. Is only game, why you have to be mad?
2. No power or metagaming. There is a lot of freedom in what to do, but most things will ultimately be determined by dice rolls.
3. Talk out of character by using double parentheses around whatever it is that is OOC. i.e. ((like this))
4. If you go inactive or drop, your character will almost be guaranteed to die. If you wish to rejoin, contact me via the forum or in discord.
5. This game is (mostly) PvE, but PvP can happen if both parties agree to it.
6. As GM I AM GOD. Rules come and go by my whims and wants.

Link to the FPRP Discord: Join the Facepunch RP Group Discord Server! (Highly recommend that you join to get the latest news on updates as well as to chat with other players as well as to make a character!)

March 23, 2029

The rain was beginning to patter onto the abandoned highway as a guard vehicle as well as a prison transport sped their way on it. The road had seen better days, as it's pavement was cracked in many places and weeds began to sprout out of them, signifying nature's reclamation over them. The vehicles themselves however told a different story as they were top of the line UEG productions and were perfectly capable of traversing the Outlands, or areas outside of the megacities. The vehicle in the front was a patrol vehicle, carrying a few soldiers in it to guard the prisoner truck that was trailing behind them. They were heading from Megacity 2 towards the nearby "re-education facility" about 100 miles away with a few prisoners as well as some of their belongings locked up.

At the driver's front of the prisoner transport were two grunts, one of whom was solely focused on the road while the other was staring out his door window towards the outside, bored out of his mind. They were about halfway through the journey, but still had some time to go before they reached their destination. "Goddamn this is so boring." he muttered before turning to his partner next to him. "Why do we always get these shitty placements, Frank? There are so many other things we could be doing other than driving a bunch of troublemakers to a prison."

"Because, Dave, you decided to piss off the captain enough with your shenanigans to bring this about as retribution. You got no-one to blame but yourself pal."

"Hey, I didn't ASK you to join in."

"What, and have to be alone back at station without my best bud? Not a chance." Frank replied with a chuckle. "Anyhow, these aren't just a bunch of "troublemakers" we got in the back. These are the worst of the worst that we got locked up. And they are gonna be locked up in the worst place possible for their crimes. One of 'em... Freddy I think his name is... is scheduled for reconditioning-"

"Shit, that stuff is real? I thought that was a myth to scare people!" Dave asked with shock in his voice.

"Yeah, you didn't know? They probe your brain and... well... lets just say the end result ain't pretty. Anyhow, you need to do stock of what was confiscated off of them."

"What?! But I did that already!"

"Well check AGAIN. I don't want us to accidentally have misplaced something and get us both in trouble... AGAIN."

Dave could only sigh as he got up from his seat and went to the console behind them that was next to the door leading to the holding area of the large vehicle. He brought up a list of what they have stored at the front in a locked container. "A mask belong to that Freddy guy..." he began to recite as he looked through it all.

Meanwhile, in the back of the prison truck the few prisoners that were there had their hands locked behind their backs in a brace and large shock collars outfitted to their necks in case they got too rowdy. Instead of their regular clothes, they all wore dark blue jumpsuits signifying their status as prisoners with a large number imprinted on their backs and fronts as their identification. The hum of the vehicle's engine stirred along as they felt themselves move along the road towards their destination, which most of them knew to be a grim place by this point. Whether or not their crimes were legitimate or not, they were all being ferried off to a bad fate.

Okay girl, calm down now, things could be worse! You could have ended up dead like everyone else in the raid. Things will be fine. Except that that they are not and you most likely will spend the rest of your life behind bars oh god please no I just wanted to save the aliens. -- NO! Get your shit together Yvonne! You are strong girl! strong! You won't let those authoritarian pigs break you! You'll endure through this, you'll find a way.

Yvonne Johnson slowly opened her eyes with a new found bravery which has vigorously spread through her. But it was quickly shot down as she heard the muffled conversation of the guards. Something about probing brains. This wasn't good at all. She just wanted to save the alien slaves on that factory near her sector alongside her fellow anarchists. Their first and obviously last mission ended in a massacre when one of her team mates alerted the guards and got herself killed instantly. She was the sole survivor, and they dropped everything on her, even saying she was the leader of the operation!
I just wanted to see the aliens man!

She looked at the men around her and wondered if she should strike up a conversation with them. She thought about it for sometime before speaking up. "S-so... uhm... f-fuck the Universal Collective! r-right?"

Good job Yvonne, not only you look like a fucking idiot. You talk like one as well.

Jack glanced over at Yvonne with a raised eyebrow. "Yeah...sure." He sighed and closed his eyes for a couple of seconds. For a minute he imagined he was free again and back home in Oasis. A hidden paradise tucked away in the outlands. Now it was nothing but ashes.

Jack's expression darkened. Bombing the precinct had given him zero regrets. There was no Plan B. No, he had come to Megacity 2 to die.

Instead he was now on his way to imprisonment. Or worse.

Looking at Yvonne he spoke up. "You okay, lady?"

S-so... uhm... f-fuck the Universal Collective! r-right?
Frederick was looking at the ground with what seemed like a thousand yard stare on his face until he heard one of the other try and say something. He simply looked up, then he looked at her and went back to watching the floor.

Yvonne looked at the man taking to her. She began to calm herself, knowing that someone was interested in talking with her. Another inmate looked at her for a second but was seemingly uninterested in starting conversation. "O-oh you know! I am... uh... f-fine, never thought I'd found myself in a prison transport about to get my brains poked by evil aliens, but y'know... chill." Yvonne began to sweat as she thought about the brain proving. "O-okay yeah I'm not okay at all, I don't want to have my brains poked. I j-just wanted to save the slaved aliens man!" She looked at Jack, trying to calm herself. "I... I'm Yvonne... y-you?"

"Jack," replied Templar. He glanced at one of the other inmates who looked up briefly. "Relax. Tell them everything you know. If you're lucky they'll go easy on you. If not, well..." He shrugged, letting the remaiming words go unspoken.

"Then you're probably going to be processed into packaged meat. Maybe into a protein bar!" A gruff voice shouted from the back of the prison transport. The man looked disheveled judging by his dark brown hair, probably from the lack of maintenance. He gave a friendly smile to his brothers and sisters. "I'm Morgan by the way! Nice to know we're sticking it to the Collective alright!" He said with enthusiasm.

Yvonne looked at Morgan. She looked even more nervous now. Oh god I don't want be Soylent Green. "S-so... what are you guys in? I was... just..." she stopped for a moment, thinking that she should be careful considering there's guards and probably recording devices. But considering her position, it probably didn't matter. "I... was... with a group of folks trying to free some enslaved aliens in a factory near my sector." She looked down a bit ashamed. "T-they say I'm the leader of the whole thing. I wasn't but I guess that doesn't matter"

Morgan gritted his teeth, shaking his head while being kept prisoner in this transport. When he heard Yvonne ask about what were they in for he spoke up first. "The same crimes every man or woman is getting sent to the brick house these days: Terrorism, Arson, Vandalism. It's all propaganda no surprise." He narrowed his eyes, looking at some of the security here. When Yvonne mentioned something about freeing enslaved aliens, he was keen to know. They probably caught her and pinned the blame on her as the leader. Figures the UC would do that.

"Freeing enslaved aliens? Never heard of that before. Was there a reason why or you just felt like doing it out of kindness?"

EdwardDewey98

Yvonne looked at Morgan, a bit surprised by his question. She was trying to find a good answer in her head, she wanted to sound like a professional rebel with a good motive. But in the end it always came down to a lame explanation of doing good. "I... I know this might seem naive to some of you, but I have seen before how the Collective treats the other aliens they have enslaved. I just wanted to free them... I don't know much... me and the gang I was part of were just a small group of Anarchists. We wanted to help... and I guess if we helped them, they could help us... that was the plan... it backfired badly."

From the looks of it, Yvonne was one of those idealists wanting to fight against the government with an organized group. In his experience many of those groups tended to fail due to many factors: they were unorganized, or they were probably looking for an excuse to steal advanced tech. At least she had heart, Morgan admitted. He didn't want to judge, but look where that got her. The man sighed harshly, "Shit. Honestly in my opinion, you got suckered. Hard. They probably took advantage of you, pinning you up as the fall girl and making you as the leader of the group. On the bright side, you're not the only one here. We all did some stupid shit to get here. But maybe we can stick together for a little while long." Morgan suggested, attempting to move out of his restraints.

"Hooah," said Jack in agreement to Morgan. At least he wouldn't die alone in some dark cell. He chuckled. "I didn't expect to be alive honestly. What I did I figured they'd shoot me for it."

He shook his head slowly. "Dunno what else they could possibly want from me."

"S-so... what are we going to do?" Yvonne looked at both men expectantly "I m-mean... what are we going to do once we reach that place? They are going to fuck us up." She looked down for a moment. Visualizing all the different methods of torture that they are probably going to use on them. Oh god please no.

"Relax. Our hands are quite literally tied up. Not much we can do right now." Jack felt sorry for the woman. She sounded like she was in a panic. He didn't blame her. Shrugging he spoke up again. "Look, I'm not good at comforting and I won't make you an empty promise but at least you won't die for nothing. By the sound of things you actually gave a damn and, well, that's more than most people do these days."

Dave took his seat back at the front after he finished looking over the manifesto, an aura of smugness permeating from him as he looked at Frank with arms crossed. "I told you, nothing is missing. We got it all here." he said with a grin. Frank meanwhile could only roll his eyes as he kept his eyes on the road ahead. "It never hurts to double check. Better safe than sorry." he replied disinterestedly. "You have no reason to be so smug anyway, I got you to do your job."

Dave thought about it for a moment before realizing that he indeed had been tricked into doing what his job required him to do. "You clever bastard..." he started before hearing muffled speech behind the door. He turned for a moment to look before turning back to his friend. "Looks like they're starting to speak. They're not supposed to... right?"

"No, but I ain't getting up to do that." Frank replied jokingly. "Too busy."

Dave groaned as he got up again and went towards the door before banging on it. "Shut up back there or I'm gonna make you shut up!"

Elsewhere...

"The convoy is approaching." a mech spoke as its optics observed the highway from a distance. Next to it, lying prone on the ground as the rain dripped onto him was a man with binoculars, also observing. It was able to magnify its resolution at this distance to the point where he could clearly see the convoy as if he was quite close to it. He observed for a moment before taking them off his sigh. "Yeah Bob I see it. Shit..." he muttered before taking his radio and turning it on.

"Major, come in. Do you read?" he asked.

"What is it Irons?" Kane asked.

"It's not a supply convoy, its a prison transport."

The radio was silent for a moment before speaking up again. "...shit. Our intel was off?"

"Seems like it. But we can't just leave-"

Another voice chimed into the radio channel as Irons spoke. "Major, I strongly advise against that. We don't have the necessary resources to carry out operations if we do this-"

"Damn it Priggs can you stop being so fucking heartless for once!" Irons yelled into the radio. "You'd just leave them to suffer?!"

"Convoy approaching in 200 meters." Bob announced. "If we are to take action, we should do it now."

"Major, please..."

"150 meters." Bob continued.

The radio was silent for a bit, the wait for a reply was practically killing Irons as he watched the convoy continue to move closer.

"50 meters."

Then the radio cracked to life: "We need the manpower. Do it." Kane spoke.

Jack looked up at the door. "Yeah yeah traitor, go on." He shook his head. "Not like he can do any worse than the invaders."

When Jack spoke up again, the guard hit the console to open the door and walked in with a stun baton drawn out. He was here to hurt him, as signified by the baton being at full charge. He walked up to Jack before jabbing it full force into the man, sending waves of electricity into him for a couple seconds before pulling back. "You still want to talk back? Fucking piece of-" he began before an audible explosion was heard from outside, catching his full attention.

At the front of the prison truck, Frank saw that their escort had been hit with an explosive, setting the front of it ablaze and into the side railings of the highway. "Holy shit!" he cried out as he braked as hard as he could, unknowingly sending his friend flying forward and landing him face down onto the floor. In the meantime, Frank quickly sent out a distress signal by pressing a button on the dashboard: "Emergency! We're under attack! I repeat-" was all he managed to get out before a second explosion hit, this time hitting the front of the prison truck and blowing it away.

Outside, Bob and Irons made their way towards the convoy with their weapons raised. Bob's grenade launcher was smoking and his directive maintained a steady course to eliminate any other major threats if they were to appear. From the patrol vehicle in front, one of the UEG grunts inside at the back managed to crawl out and was staggering about with a concussion and hearing loss from the chaos. He was quickly put down with a shot to the head by Irons as he pushed up. "Bob, initiate sentry-mode." he said as he continued on with his rifle raised. The mech complied as it planted itself onto the highway road and set itself on watch.

As Irons made his way towards the prison truck, he saw another grunt pull himself out of the back of the prison truck. This one was armed with a baton and Irons once again took no hesitation to put three shots into him, sending him down onto the floor. He then climbed into the vehicle itself and made his way to the back, which was still left open in the chaos. As he got inside, he saw that there were indeed a couple people being held captive here. He removed a device from one of his pouches before planting it on the wall, and moved back a bit. It made a loud pitched noise for a couple seconds before stopping, causing the collars and braces on everyone to unlock and fall off.

"If you want to get out of here, better move fast. I think whatever stuff they took off you is held over there." he said, motioning to a crate nearby, which had also been unlocked from the device.

When the guard came in to tell everyone to shut up, Yvonne simply lowered her head. Trying her best to not gain the attention of the guard. No need to get herself beaten now. But out of nowhere, an explosion was heard outside the transport. "W-What was that?" Soon enough, the transport vehicle was hit as well, sending her into the floor of the cabin. She was officially panicking, breathing heavily as she tried to piece things together. Was the convoy being attacked by rebels? Were they trying to destroy the vehicle she was in!? Shit's fucked, man!

She then heard gunfire outside, and soon a man came into the vehicle. He placed a strange device on the wall, which deactivated the electrical collars and bracers. She then quickly got up and looked at the stranger who was saving them. "T-Thank you so much! W-What do w-" she said, but was cut off by the man as he told them to move fast and grab their belongings from the crate. She hurried towards it and opened it to reveal the belongings of everyone inside. She grabbed a bag with her jacket, and some of her clothes, but what she cared most for the gun her people had given her during her failed liberation attempt. She found it, her Škorpion. An old, but functional weapon. But of course, it wasn't loaded.

Jack gritted his teeth as the baton made contact. For a few seconds it felt as if his heart was going to explode. That is until an explosion tore off the driver's compartment.

When the smoke cleared Jack looked around and watched a man place a device on the wall which in turn freed him and the others.

As the man told Jack and the others to move there was no hesitation. Quickly he collected his personal belongings. His armor, a set of homemade 3D-printed plating, was in a bag while his pistol was unloaded with its slide locked in a rear position.

Jack inserted a fresh magazine, shot the slide forward and tucked away the gun under his belt. He'd attach his holster later.

Once he was out of the truck he kneeled down in cover and studied the armored figure standing on the road. "Is that somekind of exoskeleton?" He asked aloud.

Freddie ran over to their belonging in a quick pace almost tripping over. Rummaging though he found it. His 'face'. He put on the mask and felt at peace. Whatever feeling of emptiness he had was gone. He was whole again. Looking over anything else he could, he found his guns and combat knife. No ammo of course, but that would be solved soon enough. First they had to get out of there.

Morgan didn't even hesitate to sprint over to the crate holding the equipment they took from him. He simply smirked, taking an old M16, aviators and armored vest with pouches. Morgan placed his aviators in one of the pouches and followed these saviors as well as these friendly people. This was going to be fun.

Once everyone had their things, Irons made his way out of the prison truck and back out onto the highway. He quickly took a look around before deeming it safe. When Jack asked about the Bob, he turned and gave a smirk. "He's an autonomous battlesuit." he said as he motioned to it as it very much towered much higher than its surroundings. "You can thank him for blowing these guys up."

"I am autonomous unit B03-1JP. But colloquially I am referred to as 'Bob' by Sergeant Irons." the mech replied, before giving an awkward handwave towards the group. Clearly, it was trying to be friendly despite its hulking size and appearance.

Irons went on his radio in the meantime to speak: "Amy, come in. We're gonna need a ride out."

After a moment, the radio fizzled to life with a response: "I hear ya. Coming in ETA 10 minutes! But you gotta watch out, you got hostiles en route from further up the highway from where they came."

"Copy that." Irons replied before setting his radio back. "Alright shit, we got enemies coming. Check the back of that patrol vehicle, should have a bit of ammo for you guys to use if it wasn't blown to shit."

He then walked over to Bob and got behind him. "Bob, initiate vanguard mode."

Bob complied as he turned to face the direction of danger and had latches on his feet set down and drill into the earth while armor plating from his legs expanded outwards to provide some form of cover in the middle of the road, which Irons promptly took advantage of.

Complying with his savior, Jack followed the man who he guessed was Sergeant Irons if the robot was anything to go by.

Taking cover nearby Jack ignored the chatter over the radio and instead glanced over his shoulder to see where Yvonne was at.

"Yvonne! Stay down and follow me." Jack then glanced at the other men that had exited the truck.

"Oh! y-you look very cool Bob!" Yvonne looked quiet impressed with the autonomous battlesuit. "You are like... a mecha! a small one but... still, cool as hell!" but then Irons told everyone that enemy reinforcements were coming. "W-wait there's more enemies coming here? Oh god, oh god." Yvonne was nervous, but if she wasn't going to get captured again, or die, she'll do it fighting back unlike before. She went to the patrol car that Irons pointed out, but unsurprisingly there were no bullets of the same caliber for her gun. "BULLSHIT!" She quickly cowered down and crawled towards Jack, who ordered her to follow him.
