Wesker spoke from behind the door "yes, of course, bring her in."

Meanwhile, Sean did the same as Analyn, and made the same conclusions, "Well, guess I'm joining STARS then." Although he was greatly concerned about being trapped in a messed up version of Jumanji, he was also excited, he had been a fan of the series since the first one, and now he was living it. he made it there, offered his services as a gunman, and the receptionist asked him to wait as Captain Wesker was currently meeting with another new recruit.

The desk clerk motioned for Analyn to go on in. Analyn walks into the office and looked at Wesker. Feigning her recognition of him, holding her hand out, she speaks, "It's a pleasure to meet you Captain Wesker." She switches into Japanese, "Watashi wa wakaku mieru kamo shiremasenga, watashi wa kurasu no toppu o sotsugyō shi, sansattsu no gengo de ryūchōna reberu o tassei shimashita." (Although I may look young, I graduated the top of my class and achieved fluency levels in three languages) She switches over at Korean, "eon-eohag hagsa hag-wileul chwideughan daehag." (As well finished university with a Bachelor's in linguistics)

Wesker replys "I'm not going to act like I understood any of that, but I like your confidence. All I need to know is, can you handle a gun?"

Wesker replys "I'm not going to act like I understood any of that, but I like your confidence. All I need to know is, can you handle a gun?"

"I can handle a gun. I was taught by my father who made military his career." Analyn responded, "I won't claim to be an expert marksman, but I can hold my own in a fight when needed."

"Well then, I can't find a reason not to hire you, welcome to STARS miss, Analyn was it?"

"Yes, Analyn Kincaid sir. If you want me to, I can fill out any documents before I leave if you want me to. It seems you have someone else waiting to speak with you, so I can work on them in the main area." She responded.

"Just send them in after you, I can handle the paperwork." Wesker responded dismissively as he looked at some documents on his desk.

Analyn nodded and leaves the office. She sees Sean and her eyes widened, but mouths, "Meet me at the café down the street when you are done." At a normal volume, she says, "You're next." Quickly, she makes her way out of the office and over to the café not far from the precinct. She just gets a water from the waitress and waits.
"Just send them in after you, I can handle the paperwork." Wesker responded dismissively as he looked at some documents on his desk.

Sean read her wordless message loud and clear, he went into Weskers office, he couldn’t believe it, there he was sitting right infront of him, Wesker. ”A pleasure to meet you Captain.”
“Just Wesker will do, I understand you’re looking for work as a marksman, correct?”
“yes sir.” Sean responded with a smile.
“How good is your eyesight?”
“20/20”
“Impressive? And you’ve used a gun before?”
“Been using guns all my life, I lived on a ranch in the middle of nowhere when I was a kid, my dad taught me young.”
“Well then, I see no reason to prolong this, welcome to STARS Sean, I already have a perfect post for you, starting tomorrow you’ll be aiding the convict transferring unit, moving convicted felons to and from raccoon city.”
“It’d be my honor sir, see ya tomorrow.”
Sean got up and walked out, he made his way to the cafe where Analyn was.

Shit, he was running late!

Dane charged up to Analyn’s apartment, a bag of groceries in hand. Cheese popcorn, bags of fun-sized candies, and a bottle of Patrón—all the junk that made a night of gaming that much more fun. The buff fellow skidded to a halt at Analyn’s front door, the bag swaying pendulously.

Dane knocked and waited. No answer, only silence. It immediately struck him as odd; the others’ cars were in the parking lot. He rapped on the door again, still hearing nary a sound. This was unsettling; where were they? He finally tested the knob. Unlocked... What choice did he have but to enter?

There were no signs of life in the apartment. It was as though Dane’s friends had vanished. The television and X-box were still on, the ‘Resident Evil’ title screen glaring back at him. He knew they were playing horror games, but could this be a joke? This was going too far, if it was. He scanned each room for them, to no avail. He even attempted to text and call them. Sean and Taylor’s phones were unreachable, while Analyn’s sat discarded in the living room. “What the hell,” he breathed.

Surely, they wouldn’t leave electronics turned on if they were going somewhere. Surely, there would have been some kind of notification... yet there were no messages, no traces. Just silence... silence and the imposing TV screen displaying those tall, red capital letters and the menu items, ‘New Game’, ‘Load Game’, and ‘Options’. The cursor highlighted the first option.

As Dane shuffled about, searching high and low, his leg caught a charging cable, pulling down the attached X-box controller. With a raucous ‘thud’, it bounced and then smacked against the toe of his boot. The ‘A’ button depressed, triggering a bright flash and the booming title call: “RESIDENT EVIL.” He looked up in surprise before clutching his head. The rapid onset of a splitting headache surprised him, but he had little time to react, for he blacked out soon after that.

———

Dane awoke in a stupor. His vision was blurry, though the rough texture of weathered concrete registered on his fingertips. He was sprawled out in an alley, by the echoing noises that seemed so difficult to pinpoint. Dane rose to his feet and dusted off the seat of his jeans, then cautiously shuffled onto the main drag.

This entire place seemed so odd to the man. People were dressed in a different style, as though it was the 1990’s. No one was preoccupied with a cell phone; in fact, technology was lacking. More and more alarm bells went off, until Dane laid eyes on a certain sign. “Raccoon City,” he read under his breath. His face subsequently fell. “Oh, no way!”

Every implication sank in as Dane paced down the street. His awkward mannerisms netted him a few confused or suspicious glances from passersby. If things were to be taken at face value, terrible things would happen soon. Eventually, his aimless wandering brought him in front of a certain cafe. He was oblivious to Analyn and Sean’s presence there.

He had gotten something small, he didn’t have much of an appetite at the moment, he sat down with Analyn, then he noticed someone outside. “Is that Dane?”
While she was at the Café, she was trying to think of all options to make sure they all get through this mess alive. Although she feared that when or if they return home, they won't be the same. She wanted to make sure they all got on with the STARS department.

Analyn looked out the café window and noticed Dane. Her eyes widened, "It is him. I'll be right back." She gets up and runs outside the café, "Dane! Over here!" She wanted to make sure that they would have a spot to meet up and the only person they waited on to find was Taylor. She looks at Dane, "Are you okay?" Before going back inside she whispers to Dane, "I know you don't like police stations, but both Sean and I got on with STARS to provide a cover story for us. We have to play these... this through and to do that, we have to be in the action for it."

Dane blinked twice in surprise as Analyn jumped out and rapid-fired information. “STARS?” he repeated. “Jesus, Ana, slow down. How did we get here? What kinda weirdness is this?” He kept close, but made sure his posture wasn’t as stiff to avoid making a scene.

"I don't know how we got here. Sean and Taylor were already at the apartment when I touched the controller and felt a really intense migraine. Sean's in the café, but we haven't found Taylor yet. I worry for her. Let's go inside the café and sit and chat. It will be less suspicious then standing out in the middle of the walkway." She sighed, her mind going crazy with thoughts and planning, "To provide a cover, I joined STARS Alpha team as a language specialist. Dean was there too. I haven't asked if he made it yet."

Dane followed her lead, heading into the cafe. “Wow, how hard was it to join?” he asked before having a seat. “Sean!” he then greeted before patting the other guy on the shoulder. “Glad we all bumped into each other. We’ll have to look for Taylor, but first, a breather.” He then leaned back, taking a deep breath. “So uh... sorry I’m late? I had some snacks, and...” He patted his pockets and pursed his lips. “Dropped my phone at your apartment, too. Anyway, funny story is that I knocked over your controller and accidentally started the game myself.”

As they walked back to the café, she explained, "It wasn't that hard, especially since I have fluency levels in three languages, but only showed two." She sits back in her seat, sighing, "It's all good. We had just gotten started when we ended up here. None of us have our phones, but that's probably okay, because how would we explain the phones if they were seen." Analyn chuckled at his little mishap, "Are you okay though?" She looked over at the cheap menu and sighed, "Had I known this was going to happen... I would have put my cash and card in my pocket." She chuckled softly.

Taylor didn't even remember passing out, she just all of a sudden gained consciousness on the side of road in a ditch. She groaned, sitting up and patting her hair down habitually. 'Where the hell am I?' She thought as she picked herself up off the ground. Upon searching around for her purse or her phone, she realized she had neither. "Damn what the hell happened. I don't even remember getting drunk..." She noted the lights of a town in the distance and started walking along the side of the road until she got into town. She sat down on a nearby bench and shut her eyes trying to think of what do next.

“I’m fine, just a bit fuzzy,” Dane assured Analyn. Upon hearing her troubles, he flashed his wallet, which had a handful of twenties inside. “Luckily for you, my wallet’s right here. The beauty of this whole thing is that we’re in the 90’s, when money was actually worth a...“ His face fell as he realized his money was probably no good. It was 1998 and all these twenties except for one were from circa 2010, as he recalled. “... damn.”

“Ok then, we can’t pay for these, so how long do you think it’ll be until we get kicked out?”

Analyn sighed and looked around the diner area. She only saw a few guests as everyone was mostly at work. Realizing no opportunity was coming about, she looked over at Dane and Sean, "We need to figure out a way to make a quick buck otherwise we won't survive. It will be weeks before we get a paycheck from STARS and even then, I don't know how long until Raccoon goes to shit." She took a sip of her water, "We should still have some time, because we did get water. But wait a minute... let me try something." She stands and goes over to one of the servers. As they were talking, Analyn was able to convince one of the servers, just to bring them appetizers and that Analyn would pay back when she was able to. When the appetizer dish was sat down, Ana looked over at the other two, and whispered, "I just told her that we just moved to Raccoon City which left us relatively broke, but we just got into a job, however it would be a couple weeks before we would get paid." She grabs one of the appetizer pieces, and takes a small bite, "Might as well get our energy up before shit hits the fan."

Resuming looking around the diner, she spots a newspaper. Getting up quickly, she goes over to see the date on it. It was middle of August. 'So the first of the games don't happen for another month yet. We've got time to come up with a solid plan of action to get through this. But first... we have to find Taylor." Coming back to the table, she finishes her portion of the appetizer dish, before resuming talking, "First things first, we need to find Taylor. Taylor's the one I'm worried about, because she isn't much of a fighter unfortunately. When I looked at the newspaper, it says we are in the middle of August. The first games don't happen till mid-to-late September, so we need to get her ready to help her stand somewhat of a chance. I assume that, you, Sean, are going to be the one on the train right? If that's the case, that's good, but once the mansion part hits and we are all there, we all need to meet up as soon as possible."

Dane nervously looked down at his wallet and peeked inside. What greeted him, caused him to breathe a sigh of relief. “False alarm, Sean.” He showed the two his money. All were now series 1993 bills, totaling 120 dollars. “What a relief. Imagine trying to explain having cash from the future,” he murmured.

When considering how they should move forward, Dane made a quick suggestion: “Maybe we can afford a cheap motel for a while, perhaps sleep at the office a few nights, and then swipe things from the break room fridge for lunch. Remember, the STARS office gets downsized after the mansion, so it shouldn’t be as cramped.”

"That's awesome Dane. We may be able to survive at least until everything happens. We should find a cheap place to stay at, and maybe work out a way to pay for just one month instead of nightly. I know extended stay is quite popular with motels and they aren't too pricey. Then we need to find Taylor. Cellphones are just starting to come out, but they are expensive for this time," Analyn continues to think, "What I can do in the meantime is see if people want their yards done, with picking up leaves or something to earn some extra money while we wait for our first paychecks."

"True, they do downsize, but they suspend all STARS members who survived. With us being a part of that, we will be suspended, so we may not be allowed back in the STAR's office," Analyn responded. "After the mansion incident, it will be like a week or so until RE2 and 3 happen. How do you guys want to go about that? There's four of us and four characters. I could go with Leon. For Taylor's safety, she could probably go with either Jill or Carlos. Although Nemesis is going to be an ass, but at least she will be with someone who is able to fight."

Dane’s eyes flashed as he nodded in agreement “Right. We can make a team effort for raising money, then. Little odd jobs here and there, yeah? Maybe if we find one of those marketing survey places that were popular until around the mid-2000’s, we can make a fast buck. Just don’t do any surveys that require you to eat anything, because we’re probably talking about Umbrella products here.”

The waitress brought the appetizer—a sampler platter to show off their best offerings. Dane went quiet until she left. “But yeah... we’ll talk about this with Taylor when we find her. My money’s on her going with Carlos because ‘A’, he has a bigger gun, and ‘B’ through ‘Z’, he’s the only one who doesn’t have a giant, mutating monster rushing him down constantly.”

”I guess I’ll go with Claire then, though, we should probably expect to play it by ear, who knows what us being here might change, plus we probably shouldn’t let on that we know what’s going to happen.”

“Good point,” Dane agreed with a nod. “I wonder if I’d even be able to sabotage Wesker’s plan. Failing to go the intended route might have... ‘unforeseen consequences’.” He drew out those last few words with a shaky, awkward pace, referencing another horror game character.

Goonfire Goonfire Darklord95 Darklord95

Looking over at Sean, she nodded, "Do your best to not say anything, but we all know how observant Wesker is. One wrong move and he will be on our asses. If he threatens you or anything, do what you have to, to survive even if it means giving him the answers that he wants. It is not worth your lives." She was being serious, because based on her findings, she knew nothing gets past Wesker. "Good thinking on not fully relying on previous knowledge. Yeah that is going to be our best bet is with Taylor going with Carlos. I'm going to have a blast fucking with Mr.X when the time comes," Ana smirked and chuckled. She usually has no problem putting herself into danger, especially when protecting another person. Thinking about the mansion incident, she smirks, "I know what I'm doing in the mansion and you two will probably yell at me for it, but I'm going to attempt... keyword... attempt to spy on Wesker."

She heard the door alarm ring and watched as STARS members shuffle in for their break. They looked over at Sean and Ana and waved as they were given the news of them joining STARS. Analyn looked over at Dane and whispered, "You need to talk to Wesker at some point to get on STARS. You should probably wait a few days otherwise it would look weird for four people to randomly show up to become recruits in a matter of days." Analyn waved over at the STARS members after quieting down on what they were previously talking about

Forest and Joseph were the first two walk over and playfully shoved Sean's shoulder. Forest was the first to speak, "Welcome Rookie. Or should I say Rookies." Analyn rolled her eyes at their antics. She listened as Forest continued, "We just wanted to personally welcome you to Bravo team." Joseph piped in with, "To Alpha Team as well. I heard you were a linguistics expert, what languages do you know?"

"Hmmm. I know Nihongo, hangeu-go, y espanol." Analyn responded. Joseph looked confused, which caused Ana to chuckle, "Japanese, Korean, and Spanish. I was learning American Sign Language, but I wouldn't say I am exactly fluent yet, but I can hold a basic conversation." A look of understanding washed along Joseph's face.

"Well I am Joseph Frost, Alpha's Omni-man. Forest Speyer here is a part of Bravo and is the Omni-man for Bravo. We are going to get something to eat, but we will see you two tomorrow for your start date." They walk away. However, Barry, Kenneth, Richard, and Edward all came over to introduce themselves. Barry was the only one who spoke, "I know those two numbskulls probably didn't explain much of how STARS works. Which you will find out more tomorrow when you come in. Which both you, Analyn and Sean need to be in at 6 am to start. We need to get you through your qualifications. What I can do is tell you who is who. Alpha and Bravo teams are made up of the same positions, but who are in those positions are different. For your sakes, I will give you the short and sweet version. Tomorrow you will learn everybody's positions and their expertise, however, right now names are just fine. For Alpha, which is the team you will be on Ana, is made up of, myself, Barry Burton, followed by Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, Joseph Frost, and Brad Vickers. Our captain is Albert Wesker. For Bravo Team, which is the team you will be on Sean, is made up of Rebecca Chambers, Forest Speyer, Kenneth Sullivan Edward Dewey, and Richard Aiken. And you are led by Enrico Marini." As he was stating names, he points out every member. Leaving out both Enrico and Wesker, as they weren't in the diner. "I hope that covers the basics. More detail will be given tomorrow when you start." He walks away with the three others and joins at the table. Chris and Jill come over to quickly say hi before making their way to the table and joining their team members.

Analyn looked back over at Dane and Sean, "Well that was unexpected. Who knew Barry would be the one to initiate the process of getting us started. I guess we have to find Taylor quickly and get settled some place for the night so that Sean and I can start tomorrow." She wasn't a morning person, so getting up at 6 o'clock in the morning, was going to be very hard for her.
