Fantasy Rebirth: Dragons of Taran

Magic

There are two type of magic in this world, elemental and mana based. Elemental magic is basically controlling the elements. Combinations of the elements like fire and mud create lave, wind and water create lightning, wind and fire create explosion type, earth and water create wood. A full elemental cannot wield mana magic (spell casters). Special family lines can manipulate two joined element (Water and air) along with mana magic, and some people can have mana manipulation and an element.

Mana manipulation opens up several types of magic. Basic manipulation that first must be learn is focusing mana on certain parts of the body to strengthen or speed up healing and secondly displacing mana from the body allowing mana shield however weak based on strength. From there one may take a step into healing magic, further mana manipulation gifts (body strengthening, mana threads, advanced shielding), Illusion magic, summoning, Mind manipulation, sealing, and sensory magic. A highly advanced magician can practice three or four of these specializations.

In what it takes for a magician to cast a high level spell or elemental cast, he has the power of casting three medium spells and nine simple spells. However, a massive spell takes up two or three times the mana that a high level spell costs.

Magicians fall in five categories that determine approximate strengths. One can be in between these tiers. This also refers to the medium level. The area a magician has focused on will require less mana.

I will give you the level of magic that you are Novice, expert etc based on your profile. I will do the same with your dragon's power level. You may request a power level however.

Name: Val'Essyn (Vahl-Es-in)

Appearance:
Val'Essyn.jpg
Standing in at 6'4" tall and weighing in at 195 pounds of muscle. The scar along his chin is from the battle with his brother for the right to his current dragon.

Age: 24

Gender: Male

Race (Human, elf, half-elf): Half-elf

Personality: Val'Essyn is a down to earth and serious fellow. He sees the world for what it is and almost never speaks of hope or the future. The man is often considered to be incredibly cold, not mincing his words and somehow managing to piss off everyone me meets. Despite his place as a half-elf he acts like he's no different than anyone and brushes off racial slurs and comments like they're merely a gentle breeze brushing against his skin. However, Val'Essyn isn't known for a smile or happy thoughts. Rumors say he doesn't know what it is to smile, though his dragon Na'Veial knows the truth. That the man is a passionate dreamer who longs for the freedom of the sky and wind. He hates the slurs and hates his role in society while also not wanting to see the world be destroyed.

History (Required): Val'Essyn was born to a nobleman named Gerald Vangeren and an elvish servant named Lo'Savella. The elfin woman had become a sort of comfort for the old lord since his late wife's passing. Especially seeing as how the late misses had left him a son to raise on his own. Nearly one year after their affair began, Val'Essyn was born and it became quite the conundrum of what to do.

Seeing the woman whom had helped carry him through his tough times worry for their half-breed of a son, Gerald decided to raise the boy along side his own son, but in a different kind of role. Although Val'Essyn was younger he would be raised as the Vincent's bodyguard and protector. It was that or he have a life that wouldn't be fit for even the most foul of creatures and Savella knew it. She decided that it would be best and went along with her lord's idea.

Val'Essyn and Vince took on very different personalities as they grew up. While Vincent became spoiled and greedy because everything was handed to him. Val'Essyn learned the ways of respect and diligence. He saw everyone had potential in the world and that so long as someone worked hard for what they wanted they could achieve anything. He quickly built up a skill in swordplay and archery that surpassed even his brother's which had seemed to be a god given talent for the lad. That talent even went into magic when their father paid a large sum of money to have them both taught and to have Val'Essyn kept a secret. Whereas Vince was profound with mana manipulation and illusionary magic, Val'Essyn worked at learning the arts of controlling wind and water, the elements that made the very sky he looked up to daily. But his elfin blood limited his power to never be on par with that of his brother, though Val'Essyn proved to be much better at aerial combat. Though Val was often reckless leaping from his training dragon onto anothers to continue close range combat, using his limited wind magic to stay aboard the creature or flinging arrows through the air as both dragon and rider tried endlessly to dodge and strike their opponent.

When Vincent turned eighteen his father got him and Val each a destroyer dragon as a gift. Val was just obligatory so that he could be around in the air to protect his half-brother. Each dragon looked magnificent as the pair approached. Unlike his brother Vincent, Val knelt before the dragons locking eyes with each of them to show respect. It was something his instructor told him not to do because it showed servitude or equal partnership. To Val that was what it meant to be a rider and dragon. Each dragon bowed its head in return. The pair climbed aboard their respective dragons and took to the sky. Val and his dragon flew about the clouds the water within the sky trailing behind them as the pair enjoyed their world above the struggles.

Vincent, however, couldn't seem to get his thoughts in sync with his dragon and couldn't perform the same level of aerial tricks. He simply thought it wasn't a dragon worthy of being his mount. He looked at the dragon like an animal to be commanded and it caused a bit of a rift between rider and dragon. Upon landing, Vincent had their father hire a mage to switch his mount with Val's. Val felt sorry for his new dragon, but it seemed she understood the necessity of the situation. It was likely to save the other dragon from a horrible life. So Val remained quiet as the dragon's were switched.

Vincent was happy with his new dragon as she obeyed his words and followed commands explicitly. Val didn't try and push his dragon to fly immediately after the new bond. He sat and spoke with the dragon, learned of her curious nature and desire to explore. A desire they both held within their hearts and kept contained because of their position. With their bond kindled, they set to the sky and bore a masterfully beautiful mixture of the elements across the sky. When Vincent confronted Val about wanting to trade back, he refused and challenged his brother to a duel. If Val won, he would get to keep his dragon. If Vincent won, he could have both.

The battle was fairly long, but in the end, Val's reckless nature put him upon Vincent's mount terrifying his own, but with her freedom on the line, he wouldn't lose. Val was flung off Vincent's dragon several times during the brawl, even getting a scar along his chin from one slash of his brother's sword. But each time his mount was able to save him and bring the fight back. At the end of the long duel, it was Vincent with a blade against his throat and a loss at hand. Val was relieved to have protected his dragon from the cruelty of brother. Though now he had to face the wrath of his father, or at least that's what Val expected.

His father had watched the fight and applauded the pair saying that this particular dragon seemed to be a good match for Val. They needed practice to get better at their unique style of combat, but they could prove to be quite the duo. Vincent however, was scolded for losing to his half-brother. He would require new training. After dismissing Vincent, Val got the first real gift from his father in his seventeen years of life. He was dismissed from being Vincent's body guards stating "We're wasting your talents having you protect him." Val'Essyn was given his freedom, sort of. He was to join the military and protect this land from the dangers of the world. With a new chance to see the world, Val accepted. Seven years of grueling training in both combat and magic later, the pair's blitzkrieg style of attacking made them a notorious duo within the Gold Dragoneers.

Dragoneer unit (Ranks will be assigned by me): Lieutenant Captain of the Gold Dragoneers (though considered reckless and unpredictable, he's quite good at aerial combat and his men trust him to guide them through tough battles.)

Magic type (power level will be assigned by me): An high level practitioner of the elements of the sky, wind and water.

Dragon (Name and personality):
Na'Veial.jpg
Na'Veial (Nah Vey Al) is a very proud legendary dragon of fire and earth. She is a dragon that doesn't care for words, but lets actions speak for them. And although she doesn't care for them, she can still be irritated by words of those that he deems "lesser" than herself, much like the formerly bratty Vincent. Unlike her rider that doesn't let his emotions show, Veial is very expressive dragon and often acts like a curious little sister to Val rather than a mighty beast. Her eyes move from one thing to the next asking Val about everything that goes on around her. She does worry about Val's reckless nature and often will chide him like she's his older sister when he does stupid things like their signature attack patterns, but she loves her little rider and couldn't imagine a world without him.

Name: Second Lieutenant Neale Geroldus
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Race: Human

Personality: When Neale has a goal set, you will likely never see anybody work harder. He can power on for days on end off of the sheer force of his willpower, and once he's got a plan in mind it is near impossible to change his mind. However, when he's not interested in something, he can be incredibly lazy. He is known for falling asleep during low-level missions and getting drunk for big meetings. That is one of the reasons he doesn't get promoted further, and also why it took him a little while to climb the ranks in the first place. He can be very irresponsible and has a very "selective memory" where he only appears to remember things that are a benefit to himself.

Despite all his apparent immaturity, when push comes to shove Neale always comes through. His ability to concentrate and stay calm in dangerous situations allows him to think on his feet. He actually cares a lot about his men and their well-being and is one who will truly never leave a man behind. He grows deeply attached to those who serve under him and is well respected and loved for the fact that he will put his life on the line for them. Neale is always the first and last one out of battle. On casual days he is somewhat of a loudmouth and likes to laugh and have fun. He is a man of vibrant emotions, especially when drunk.

Keeping Neale in line is a chore, but once you gain his respect he will usually obey orders. For this reason he complies easily around superiors who he has seen in combat for he feels that he can trust them more. Once earned, his loyalty knows no bounds and he will faithfully carry out orders from those he trusts if it kills him. His actions are usually calculated and his plans are usually well thought out and precise, but he is prone to acting recklessly if one of his men ends up in danger. Even though he looks like a homeless man he has actually gone through rigorous schooling and is very well-educated.

Appearance: Standing at 6"0 and weighing 185lbs, Neale is a pretty big man. His body is coated in muscles and small scars. His most notable scar is a set of tooth marks around his torso from the time that he tried to fight his dragon one on one which he nearly died from. His clothing is generally ragged and patched because he neither cares about his appearances nor does he have the money required to buy nice clothing as he generally spends it before it can be put to good use. Neale's hair is shaggy and unkempt, as is his beard, and often he gets mistaken for a homeless man.

History: Born to the Geroldus family as the youngest of three sons, Neale was born into high expectations. His father was a master level mana magician and his mother was a master level user of earth elemental magic. Both had served in the Gold Dragoneer unit for over thirty years before being promoted into command positions. While his father was from a lowly noble family, their success as a couple started to build the reputation of the Geroldus Noble blood and they began to accumulate wealth as well as the connections they needed to become more powerful.

Militant-minded people, they strove to make their children take after them. Family discipline was strict, and one was expected to stand at attention and salute just to be served breakfast. It was when Neale turned 10 that his parents got promoted to command positions and moved away from home to be closer to their work. They took his two older brothers with them, but deemed him too young to join them in their move. They were wealthy enough to keep Neale in a second house with a full set of tutors ranging anything from magic to combat to normal school tuition.

Neale had always been a smart kid so he took to his studies well, and as long as his parents received good report cards from him they left him alone. What they didn't hear, however, was that Neale had rapidly developed from the well-behaved kid they had left into a troublemaker. He was well-loved by his tutors and staff alike, but without the strict command from his parents he began to disregard all orders and simply do what he wanted. He kept up with his studies and training for he strove to be powerful, but aside from that he went against the will of those around him as much as possible. His will to do well enabled him to advance the level of his magic and combat abilities at an incredible rate, but he hardly used his abilities to do anything but pick trouble.

For his fifteenth birthday, his parents sent him money to buy himself a dragon. He was allowed to pick out his own, and as they had felt guilty after forgetting about him for all these years they put together as much of their savings as they could. He had been given enough money to buy a dragon just below the level of behemoth. What Neale didn't know is that his parents, also for his birthday, had traveled back to their second home in order to celebrate his dragon with him. However, when they arrived, they were greeted with their son's choice of dragon: a massive, wingless, monstrosity.

Neale had spent all the money he had been given on his dragon, whom he named Tasus, and as such Tasus was a high-level dragon but the fact that he was wingless meant he could serve in no higher position than the ground army. His parents were outraged. They did everything to make Neale return Tasus, but the boy refused. Shocked by his disobedience, his parents tried to discipline him, but he no longer complied to their commands. Disappointed and dismayed, they all but disowned Neale and left him permanently in their second house. They still provided his schooling, for they had an interest to make sure all their children were trained, but they no longer tried to reach out to him nor did they give him any more money.

The boy didn't mind. He continued his studies and trained hard, and when he was twenty-one he enlisted himself and Tasus in the army. He has served with the ground corps ever since.

Dragoneer Unit: Ground Army
Magic Type: Mana Manipulation (Body Strengthening - main, Mana Threads - weak), Elemental (Earth) [Low Expert Level]
Dragon: [Master Level] Tasus is a user of earth and water with a specialization in the combined element quicksand. He has one massive eye in the middle of his face that is coated in a glass-like substance which protects it from being hit. In general, he has two moods: the first is sleepy, and the second is angry. For that reason he is usually pretty placid because he's too tired to deal with anything and just follows Neale around, but when he is angry he will lash out violently at the source of his anger. The only exception is during battle in which Tasus manages to summon a concentrated malicious state that spells the end to all who oppose him, but it isn't as impulsive as his anger is. Tasus and Neale get along well, as Neale can be lazy himself they often just slack off together. However, they also are very passionate about certain topics and play off of each other's energy in battle which leads them to be a very effective team.

Name: Lelliana Varesqa
Appearance:
Lelliana.jpg
Lelliana is a fairly short girl standing in at only 5'3" tall and weighing 115 pounds.
Age: 37
Gender: Female
Race (Human, elf, half-elf): Human

Personality: Soft spoken and gentle, Lelliana is a strong supportive woman who cares for the people of Argan with every fiber of her being. She is not one to support violence for violence's sake, but understands its necessary. She worships god and holds a belief that his power is the source of all magic, however she also doesn't understand why the church won't protect the people on the front lines. She feels its irresponsible for those with power to do nothing but hide it away from the world and thus why she's never been taught Holy Magic.

History (Required): Abandoned as a babe, Lelliana was adopted into the family of one the more renowned members of the church, Father Frederick Varesqa. A humble man that tried to teach people that all were equal in the eyes of god. He took the girl in and raised her as his own within the church, teaching her their morals and guidelines while also letting the girl experience life for herself.

From an early age, Lelliana was taught to use magic by her adoptive father, showing a great amount of prowess for shields and healing at the young age of seven. Without the ability to help groom her skills properly, Frederick used his money to hire a tutor to further grow her abilities and make her into an excellent caretaker within the church, healing many of the sick in the town. He even hoped someday that she would be willing to take his place in the church, after all he was in his late seventies. As she grew older, Lelliana spent her life split between the church and learning about the gruesome wars of days long ago. If something like that were to happen again, she wanted to able to help like she helped in the community, but she also didn't want to leave the church behind.

She asked her "father" about why the church never got involved in the past war, and he said it was complicated. That didn't set right with Lelliana. What was so complicated about helping those in need? Didn't the church teach to care for everyone equally? Then why did those suffering on the front lines pay the price? Unable to stand it, Lelliana started to put together the money that her father gave her. For ten years she put away every single drop of money she could into a fund that she deemed to be for her to be of even more assistance than she was now. She wanted to buy a dragon and help on the front lines if a war would erupt again, even if all she was able to do was protect people and save those who were injured

When she finally managed to buy her dragon, it was a miniature mana dragon, but it was hers and with her natural gifts for healing blessed to her by god, the pair would be able to save many lives, or so she believed. When she returned to her home for the last time, Frederick was waiting with a knowing smile on his face. He'd known what the girl planned for the longest time and had even learned where she was going to buy the dragon from, dipping into his own savings to help her buy a far more powerful dragon than she would have on her own. He blessed the child and gave her her very own set of church robes to wear onto the battlefield, to let the soldiers know that they had the support of god with them. It was his own way of atoning for pushing the girl to this decision with the church's inactivity.

When she joined the military, she was surprised by just how intense combat was, but she was thankful she was in a support group. She wouldn't be AS needed to see combat, but she would still have to be out on the front lines, protecting those that needed it. Despite what her commanders thought of her at first, Lelliana proved to be a capable medic. With the aid of Tivala, the pair were able to heal numerous soldiers as they returned from training and get them back on their feet faster than most others. Lelliana always claimed that it was god watching over Argan, and never once let the praise go to her head.

Dragoneer unit (Ranks will be assigned by me): Sargent in the Red Dragoneer
Magic type (power level will be assigned by me): Low Master of Advanced Shileding and Healing
Dragon (Name and personality):
Tivala.png
Tivala is a copy of her rider though only a practitioner in strength. Sweet and endearing, she is often found trying to comfort the wounded while her rider works on them. She is supportive of Lelliana's decisions and has done her best to be a good support for her. A morally sound dragon she doesn't approve of violence and merely wants the war to end. She could hardly imagine if her rider had wanted to join a combat focused squad and dreads the idea. She has a mutual trust with Lelliana that they'll hide nothing form one another, they are partners there to give people hope when things seem hopeless.

Name: Lieutenant Captain Aladera Elemari
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Race: Human

Personality: Generally, Aladera doesn't like to waste time and is very practical. If she doesn't need it, she doesn't take it. Abstract concepts such as 'wants' and 'dreams' never enter the equation. She is steady and calm under pressure and never feels the need to impress other people. The only notable emotion that she shows consistently is curiosity along with the occasional spurt of sarcasm. Her way of thinking is very simple without any flare; she achieves her goals in the fastest, most efficient way and doesn't like detours or unnecessary add-ons. She is very goal-oriented and unless she sees the point of an action or how it is beneficial to her she tends to disregard things.

In her world, kindness is only used when somebody wants something from her, and indifference to is a norm. Everybody has a job to do and she understands that, meaning she stays out of other peoples' ways and expects them to do the same for her. She is hard to provoke because she couldn't care less what people think of her and doesn't have "thick skin" as much as she just doesn't care what other people might think. The main way she lets off steam is through exercising and exploring new places. She likes to take advantage of anything offered to her and always looks for ways to get herself a leg up. Aladera is very well aware that teamwork is essential to any successful endeavor and therefore is good at collaborating with others be it through words or simple glances.

Aladera will often help her teammates, making it seem like she is a kind person, but in reality she's only helping others to help herself a lot of the time. Strong emotions are her enemy and she likes to keep herself under control at all times. She never second-guesses herself or doubts her decisions once she has made them. Many people would describe her as an ox: plowing forward steadily with conviction and strength. She is very aware of her own personal boundaries and doesn't hesitate to ask for help when she may need it. Aladera hates the feeling of being in debt so once she feels like she owes somebody a favor she will constantly strive to make up for the fact.

Appearance: Aladera stands at 5"6 and weighs around 135lbs. She has long blonde hair that she either braids or ties up, doing everything in her ability to keep it out of her face, and has muscular arms. Generally she wears dark clothing matched with a lighter blue color, and tends to get cold easily so is usually draped in heavy jackets. She has two large scars that form a V-shape on her back, but she rarely wears clothing through which you would see them.

History: The Elemari are a dragon capture and breeding family. They are one of the biggest providers on the market for high-quality dragons and thousands of dragons have passed through their hands. They operate by both capturing dragons from the wild and keeping many to breed and are a business with a professional attitude as they cater to many of the kingdom's finest. They make a lot of money through their business and are also have medium-high level magic skills and there has been recent discussion of marrying one of the Elemari offspring into a noble family so that the family can become nobles themselves.

The business started out small, selling mostly lower-level dragons until they started to gradually upgrade their stock over the years. It has expanded into a sizable business, but it is still family-run so all of the Elemari children are expected to work there. Due to that, Aladera was training to fight from the moment she came out of the womb. Both in order to capture dragons and to control them in order to maintain their breeding program, a high level of combat proficiency is required, and that is what Aladera eventually achieved. The family isn't known for a high degree of magical ability but they are still all competent mana users so Aladera also trained in magic from a young age. She enjoyed using magic, but she preferred physical combat over magic use.

Dragon hunting is a dangerous job with a high fatality rate, and while the Elemaris focused primarily on breeding they also did host around three dragon hunting missions a year. The Elemaris usually lose at least one employee per mission, and many of their family members have perished in their line of work. For that reason, it is common for the masters of the house to keep mistresses in order to have as much offspring as possible in order to continue the business. Due to that fact, Aladera has many half-siblings as well as full siblings and family reunions are always an event to behold. Among all the Elemari children, both full and half blood, there was always fierce competition to see who was the best, most skilled and captured the most dragons. Aladera's first dragon hunting mission occurred when she was twelve and deemed to have finished her training, a couple of years before many of her brothers and sisters were allowed to hunt, and she therefore was made an outcast by the majority of her siblings.

For that mission, she was in need of a dragon. It was exceedingly difficult to subdue wild dragons and still keep them intact enough to sell, so all of the Elemaris had dragons of their own to use that they had either captured or bred. They never kept any of their legendary or dreadnought dragons because those were the ones that brought in the most money for them, but they did make sure to equip themselves with high quality dragons in order both to show their status but also to help them in their hunts. Therefore, when Aladera was twelve, she received her dragon Schnee. Schnee was a miniature but had extremely high magical ability because Aladera had proved herself to be one of the more talented of the Elemari offspring.

Aladera worked at the company for nine years, participating in many dragon hunts which increased her combat experience and forced her to work hard every day. Additionally, towards the end of her career at the business she successfully lead five hunts. However, now that talk emerged about marrying the Elemari into a noble family, her father decided to act more like a noble family: namely by sending some of the Elemari kids into the army. Aladera, with her high combat skills, was one of the first choices and so she complied and entered into the military.

Dragoneer Unit: Gold Dragoneers
Magic Type: [High Practitioner] Mana Manipulation: Intuition - a form of extreme body enhancement in which Aladera is able to use an elevated sense of sight and motor skills in order to be able to predict attacks before they are initiated. This enables her to be able to predict and effectively defend attacks that are being launched against her.
Mana Manipulation: Shielding - Aladera is able to create full-body shields for both herself and others, though she usually uses them to protect Schnee because her dragon doesn't have as strong defensive capabilities as her.

Dragon: [Master Level] A miniature dragon whose specialty is water and wind, specializing in blizzards, Schnee is a quick and agile. She doesn't like to speak much and is rather reserved to the extent of coldness. It takes a very long time for her to get used to somebody, and will often completely ignore the existence of those whom she doesn't like. It took Aladera years in order to hold a proper conversation with Schnee, and years more to get to a status where they'd be considered friends. Aladera still isn't as close as she'd like with her dragon but Schnee has begun to show more concern for Aladera's health and safety as of late.

5'5" and 296 pounds. Connor is not fat, they do not like fat people in the military. All that weight comes from muscle.

    Age: 28
    Gender: Male
    Race (Human, elf, half-elf): Human
    Personality:
Though a noble, he acts more like a farm hand. Loud and unruly, he has accepted the fact that he will most likely not inherit much, if anything, from his family and will probably be married off to some other families daughter. But who knows, maybe they're going to marry off Todd and leave Boris to choose who he wants to marry, as the eldest, and leave Connor out of that completely. Or, perhaps, they'll use him as more than a pawn in the game of House politics.
    History (Required):
Born the youngest in a well respected, if not powerful, noble family, Connor was expected to be like his two older brothers, Boris and Todd, in order of age. That meant that he would act the part and behave. But it soon became apparent that that would not be the case. Even as an infant he was much louder and active than the other two ever were. Luckily for his parents, he calmed down slightly as he grew up. But unlike his brothers who sat and studied studiously with their tutors, Connor would flick bits of paper at his brothers and get distracted by the slightest thing. Perhaps it was because of this that Connor never really developed magically, the most he's done being a flurry of sparks.

As he went into his teen years he became even less interested towards sitting in stuffy rooms and reading old books whose pages would tear at the slightest touch. Many times he decided to skip class completely, deciding that going out and doing as he pleased would be worth the stern talking to and possible punishment. It was during one of these escapades out of class that he stumbled across the village children. He took to them instantly, their more ruff and tumble form of play fitting him much better than the refined atmosphere of his house.

He grew up with them, those village children. And when he became an adult, so did they. The only thing that he did do that they didn't do was go off and join the military. Not exactly his choice, but when your father calls you out in the middle of dinner and tells you that he has a set of armor set aside for him and that he'll give him enough money to buy a dragon, well there's not much you can do. And so he got Buras, whose personality was like a reflection of his own. Through the rigorous military training, the two formed a close bond, and now the two are as close as dragon and rider can be. Though their coordination could still use some work.
Dragoneer unit (Ranks will be assigned by me): Captain of the Green Dragoneers.
Magic type (power level will be assigned by me): Simple spark magic (Novice). They're magical sparks, but sparks none the less. Can't really do much aside from start a fire.

Name: Hamilton Ardent

Appearance:
3521e42a15295ab5cec3292ae52b1812--female-knight-female-armor.jpg

Age: 26

Gender: Male

Race (Human, elf, half-elf): Human

Personality:
Hamilton was raised on the family's philosophy of 'Hard work brings all'. Unlike most other Nobles his age, he never got anything simply handed to him so he was appreciative of what he has. He was also friendly with the local peasantry and like his father, attempted to remember each of their names. Sadly he only memorized their faces. Another defining trait of his is his belief in Chivalry. Doing what he thinks is right, defending the weak from their oppressors and being a gentleman. With the help of his older brother, he also learned how to easily win a lady's heart and he became rather popular too. Sadly he's rather shy around women and is generally uninterested in starting a relationship.

History (Required):
Hamilton Ardent is the second born son and the middle child of the 5 Ardent Siblings. Being the second born son, Lord Ardent has allowed him to follow the career path of his own choosing as his older brother, Charles Ardent, is being groomed as the heir apparent and the new owner of the trade business. So what is a young, adventurous Noble like him supposed to do but join the army?

In preperation for his time in the military, Hamilton was shipped off to a school of magic in order to properly hone the Ardent line's gift of lightning magic. His reveal of holding an uncommon element while coming from a mostly insignificant Noble Family has made him a dark horse of sorts among his teachers who noted his diligence and eagerness to better himself. Following his graduation, he immediately joined the army but before doing so, he had one more surprise in store.

He initially wanted to be a simple unmounted mage when he received a late birthday present in the form of a cocky red dragon. Nero Claudius Ceasar Augustus Germanicus (more commonly known as just Nero) was a proud Destroyer class mana dragon his father got at a lower price due to the dragon's pickiness in masters. But with the help of Charles' advice and his own personal preserverance, a bond formed between Hamilton and Nero. One based of mutual respect from Nero side and acceptable levels of flattery from Hamilton's.

His time in the army was met with challenges. Between the sneers of higher Nobles and Nero's near constant complaints, Hamilton's calm image almost broke down but he never gave up. Not wanting to buy a high post like most Nobles, Hamilton decided to go all the way. He trained hard to be a Black Dragoneer, wanting to prove his worth and uphold his family's philosophy of 'Hard work brings all'.

Dragoneer unit (Ranks will be assigned by me): Black Dragoneers, Lieutenant

Magic type (power level will be assigned by me):
Elemental: Lightning (High level)
Mana Manipulation: Body Strengthening and Sensory Enhancement

Dragon (Name and personality): Nero (Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus)
A proud Expert level Destroyer class mana dragon, Nero was Hamilton's gift from his family after he joined the military. His pride is both his charming side and a bit of a pain for Hamilton. He sees himself as the best dragon a guy can ever ask for, leaving his poor rider as a literal restrainer and making sure his ego doesn't go out of control. That being said, the trust between them is real and they help watch each other's back. Both on and off the battlefield.

Name: Field Colonel Azemi Argan of the Black Dragoneers

Age: 25

Appearance: With his light blue eyes and dark black hair, Azemi stands at 6 ft. Cutting a slim figure with a well defined body, he isn't to terrifying like his dad, General Soran. Generally, he dresses in black with a black clip on coat of his unit. Along with that, he a has a magical sniper rifle usually with him.

Personality: Rather laid back, he is very obedient to his superiors for the most part. Bred for his office, he is the perfect officer and picture of perfection to others. Even though he has a playful side, it doesn't come out until he is fighting someone. He is naturally nervous about the upcoming campaign with such a high ranking.

Background: First son of General Soran, he had a huge amount of pressure to grow up as proper military officer. However, instead of going with the normal branches of the military, he decided to join the Black Dragoneers, the scouts, assassins, and skirmishers of the military. His father did not dissuade his decision however encouraging him to go that route so that the Black Dragoneers would once again be under control of the main Argan line. Even so, his magical project under tutors was a massive success. He quickly became the most power mage under the age of twenty and soon the most powerful under 30. His skill at mana manipulation was a thing of legends. Quickly he drew enmity from his former friends and soon when his father rose him quickly through the ranks in the Black Dragoneers, he drew enmity from his fellow officers. Currently, he is the highest ranking field officer.

Division: Black Dragoneers

Dragon's Appearance and Personality: His dragon is a rather expensive legend class miniature dragon mana supplier. Black with a single white stripe running from her front to back, she isn't very impressive. Despite this, his dragon, Acusa, is a very brave dragon who would love to be a combat dragon, despite how much he sucks at combat. Mainly for travel and mana boost, Azemi refuses to take him into battle for obvious reasons.

Magic Class: Mana Manipulation (Master class) Illusion (expert) Lightning (expert)
