      incredibly anxious

    Eloise

    the shy one

Eloise's breath started to quicken as they pulled closer to the dorm hall. Her eyes were wide as she looked out at the suddenly tall building. Oh great, there were so many people. Had the car always been this cramped? She gripped onto the seat belt tightly. She should just do online school, she'd still get everyting done, she's smart, she doesn't need to be in person, she can do the labs online too. Her dad looked back at her and her sibling, Nex, "Alright kiddos, ready for-Elosie," he said shocked, noticing her wide eyes and tight grip. He sent her a warm smile, "Calm down hun, there's nothing to be worried for. You're going to do great here!!" Eloise forced a smile as Ciet turned and looked at her concerned also. Ky unbuckled, probably to try and come console her, but she very quickly unbluckled herself and frantically grabbed his arm, "Don't! Don't, it's fine. I'm fine," she said, more to herself. The thought of people seeing her on the verge of a panic attack and needing to be comforted by her parents made her anxiety worsen 10 fold. "We'll just, be going now."
She gave her parents quick hugs and got out of the car. This was not the first day that she was expecting it to be. She gripped onto her dufflebag straps as her and Nex walked towards the the table. "Hello! I'm Jodie! I'll be your residence hall director, what are your names?" she said with a kind smile. Eloise glanced over at Nex, resisting the urge to shift to be behind them more. "Nex and Eloise Marvale-Wu," Nex told the woman. She nodded and handed them a tie bag, a folder, and a small envelope with a key inside. "Your rooms will be listed in the folder, along with some other important papers. We'll be meeting out here at 11 sharp, see you then!" Eloise only gave a small, tight smile as she walked towards the hall with Nex.
As she was glancing at her folder, she almost dropped her key, causing her to stumble slightly as she gathered her bearings again, "What room are you....in," she trailed off, seeing Nex was already walking through the doors. She sighed and made her way up to room 2D. She was glad that she only had a double. A part of her had been worried that her parents would somehow change it, but hopefully her roomate was incredibly nice. Hopefully she'd see Nex later, but for now, she just wanted to calm herself down and make one side of her room to her liking. I mean, how bad will the rest of the day be?....right??

      excited

    jade Ross

    the glam one

"Mom, did we have to take the limo?"
Her older brother groans, while Jade is busy adding to her snapchat story. On her way to school! If only it was that simple. Jade's mother can't come, for obvious reasons, so she is having a tough time. Of course, it's easier than the first year, but it's still rather difficult.

    "A typical car couldn't fit dad's ego"
Jade finally speaks up, referring to the man slumped in the corner of the limo, who everyone had been ignoring the presence of until this moment. He is about to retort when the car lurches to a stop, the driver cursing at some kid who decided to jaywalk.
"Well, this is our stop. Bye Nadia, love you"
She gives her brother's mom a kiss on the head before heading out of the car, bags in tow.

Well, bags which are quickly taken from her as their driver attempts to walk the siblings into the school.
"No thanks, we've got this. Love you though"
Jade leans up, kissing the man who she's known since childhood on the cheek and taking her bags back.

Looking at her school, she can't help but grin. This is going to be fun.

    Feeling: Nervous but ready
    Location: Dorm Hall - Room
    Outfit: X1
    Interaction: Open
    Mentioned: N/A

Ladle hated car rides. Refused to go in a carrier, screamed his head off with head sharp turn. And it was even worse when they took him to the vet because the damned cat had learned the route. The only time he was calm, or rather, tolerated the car rides was surfing in Maescia's lap. Usually, she didn't like it when he did. Pets were a distraction when driving, and Harlen would complain every time about getting hair in the back seat. And as if on cue, the salt and pepper hairs man began complaining, very dramatically looking for the lint roller. "I haven't opened the new one yet, you can calm down," Maescia told him with a roll of her eyes. He had been like this for the past hour.

"Why not? That mangy animal is getting his hair on everything!" The older man replied with a huff, still looking despite the fact Maescia had just told him there wasn't one.

"He's not mangy," The young women replied, brows furrowed a bit. "And I don't see why you're complaining, this isn't even your car." Never a truer statement had been said, Harlen normally wouldn't have been caught dead in this thing. A 2006 Honda civic Maescia bought on her own. Compared to the Lincoln's the rest of her family drove, this was the last thing any of them would pick. Stating that out loud though didn't seem to calm her step-father.

"You're a Whisp! You should take more pride in taking care of your possessions!" He replied. "I don't see why your mother let you buy this thing."

"And I don't see why she made you ride along with me. I promise, her beloved youngest daughter isn't trying to escape her clutches." Maescia knew that would turn one problem into another, as Harlem's face twisted and the man immediately began a rant about respecting her elders. This however, was a lecture not impeding on her ability to focus on the road. It was one she had been subject to more times than Maescia could count. And as a result, the woman was able to easily tune him out. Her thoughts would shift to Ravenwood as the car drew closer. Out of all the colleges she applied to, Ravenwood was the last she expected to go to. She applied of course for the Psychology and Criminology courses, as she did with the rest of them. Finding her soulmate was something she had nearly given up on, but maybe she would get lucky here. Not to mention...Maescia was almost positive her mother had done something to sabotage her other applications.

Maescia's mind also wandered to what it would be like going to school with her sister. Carmilla had applied shortly after Maescia did. And them both getting accepted was a bit...odd. For most of her life, Carmilla had been at Wendel, and then overseas at Oxford. It just seemed weird that someone like her would be going to school with Maescia. Who was absolutely dreading it by the way. Carmilla had not given her younger sister many happy memories. Absentmindedly, she sighed, her hand curling in Ladle's fur, the campus finally in view.

The dorm was busy, which Maescia expected, but a small part of her had hoped that she would have been able to escape the crowds. Pulling into the parking lot, she made sure to avoid the small black SUV and moving van her sister had been using. As soon as she put her car in park, Harlen was out and crossing the parking lot to meet with the two blondes. A relieved sigh fell from her lips. Maybe that grouch would forget to say goodbye. Maescia took a few moments, just sitting there, her hands messing with Ladle's fur to calm her nerves before she finally lifted the old man off her lap and got out.

She saw a few other people approaching some woman, who seemed to be giving them information, so that seemed like the best place to start. Brushing off the front of the leggings she had on, the young witch made her approach to the bubbly woman. "Hi! My name is Jodie, I'll be your residence hall director. Name?"

"Maescia Whisp." Once she answered, Jodie looked over her list, nodding once she found Maescia's name. Jodie then handed over her key, and a small bag.

"We'll all be meeting down here at 11 o'clock, so make sure you're here!" The woman added, her voice just as bubbly as it had been Maescia nodded, giving her a faint smile and a nod as she moved out of the way for more people to get their room assignments. Curious, she glanced over to where her sister's car was parked. Harlen and Rowena were taking pictures with Carmilla. A sigh fell from her lips as she looked away, moaning her way back to her car. In the backseat say most of her bags. A rolling suitcase, two small duffle bags, plus two backpacks. She pulled the rolling suitcase out first, balancing the duffle bags on top of it before she slipped a backpack up onto either arm. Once she had, she whistled for Ladle, who climbed into the backseat then hopped out of the car to follow.

Room 1D...thank the gods it was on the first floor, her bags and the rest of what was in her car would have been a bitch to get upstairs. She unlocked the door and pushed it open, huffing a bit as she pulled her bags inside. It was a smaller room than she was use to. And two beds...that meant a roommate. Maescia honestly didn't remember if she had picked a preference for her dorm, but honestly, she could deal with another person. But picking a side, that would wait until...Ladle immediately jumped up onto the bed on the right, causing her to chuckle. "I guess that's my bed," She said with a smile, pulling her begs over to that side of the room. She put them down, dropping the backpacks on the bed before she turned and immediately headed back out while the cat made himself comfortable. After all, she still had a few things to get from her car.

The hot mist in the room around her clung to her skin, and dampened her cheeks. Eveline’s breath was laboured and hot breaths fogged the inside of her gas mask. The bright slightly glowing plants on the inside seemingly thriving in the condition. She swung around as she heard a person rushing towards her. A wall of green vines sprung up before her; a moment later being torn down and burned by blue hot fire. Eveline turned and ran the other way, as she ran the grass sprang her forward. As she neared a tree she jumped and reached out; the branch twisting into her grip. She used it to pull her up into the tree; her body swinging onto the branch. She balanced herself; using the leaves for cover. She paced her breath, trying not to be too loud. Out of the mist came a figure looking around for her; their hands glowing with a blue fire. Eveline saw her chance and held her arm out. She focused and whispered to the tree she was crouched on. Suddenly and without warning the branch she was on grew at an exponential rate; it flew forward and towards the figure. Stopping just before their chest. The person screamed out in fear. Eveline reached out and poked their forehead. “I won.” She said almost a little too proudly. The person huffed and the fire in their hands died out. The mist disappeared and the lights turned on.

A few hours later, Eveline is sitting on her bed. She has a brush in her hand and water is dripping from her hair. The bedsheet under her hair had a pool of liquid on it. More and more water dripped from her hair at every swipe of her brush. Eveline jumped up out of her bed as the door to her room swung open. She stiffened and stood straighter as she saw who came in. Her eyes instinctively looked down, and she whispered a few words of hello. The person got straight to the point telling her what was to become her future. “You’re going to college. Get dressed.” Eveline was too surprised to keep her composure; her head snapping up to look at the man dressed in white. “What?!” She practically yelled, she flinched after hearing her own voice. “I uh… Why?” She whispered shyly. The man said nothing, just shook his head and left the room. Eveline stood there, her hair still dripping wet, processing what she was just told. She was to go to college. She was to go into the outside world. Her voice came to her in an excited squeal; she jumped up, her brush being forgotten on the floor, and she rushed to her wardrobe.

It had been a month or so after she was told her fate. She had worked hard and kept her head down. Nothing she had not done before, but this time she was hiding the fact that she was leaving. Eveline the weird plant girl, was going out of the lab and into the world. She was so excited she went into her room everyday and wrote about the things she would do. Then the day finally came.

A man that she had never seen before came into her room. He was dressed head to toe in white, just like all of the other doctors and scientists. Although one thing was different, he had a Cyan suitcase next to him. He simply stood there and waited for her attention. At the time she was painting on a small canvas she had been given. She placed her paintbrush down onto the small table next to her and turned to him. Her face was painted with obvious confusion, but nonetheless she bowed and waited for him to speak. After a moment or so of awkward silence he spoke. “You’re leaving. Put on some proper clothes. I’ll be waiting.” He said it calmly, and then closed the door. Eveline practically screamed with excitement; she skipped to her wardrobe and picked out an outfit. She was ready in five minutes flat.

She was led out to a garage looking place, and ushered into a black SUV. After about two hours of driving they apparently arrived at their destination. The whole time Eveline was looking out of the window, like a child in a candy store. Once they got there the scientist got out of the car and took her suitcase from the trunk. Eveline hopped out after him and looked up at the huge building before her. She couldn’t move, it was all so overwhelming. The scientist came over to her and poked her shoulder. “Ey girl. Move it. I gotta be back.” He said a little irritated with her. She jumped and nodded, grabbing her suitcase. Eveline moved to say bye to him, but he was already in the car and driving away. It then occurred to her that she was completely and utterly alone. A sinking loneliness clung to her insides and twisted her gut.

Eveline was able to find her way to the front desk, and get her key from the nice lady at the desk. She had told her a couple of things, but Eveline had been too nervous to listen. She was now making her way to her dorm. Dorm 1D. She was glad that it was nearby; she didn’t want to risk getting lost in this big campus. That would be awkward. As she neared she saw a girl pass by her. She looked at her for a moment, and then averted her eyes. She didn’t want to stare. Eveline pulled her suitcase in front of her and shifted to unlock the dorm. Just to find that it was already unlocked and that she in fact locked the door instead. She groaned and opened the door, this time actually opening it. As the door opened she took a breath from the oxygen in her tank. Eveline stepped forward into the room. It was just a tad larger than her room back at the lab. She smiled and went into the room; seeing a weird looking creature on the right bed. Looks like she was going to have the left one. Eveline rested her suitcase next to her bed, and sat on the white blankets. Her eyes landed on the strange looking creature on the bed across from her. She narrowed her eyes and watched as it steadied itself.

      Exhausted and irritated

    Aurora V

    the vampiress

    "Soren,”
Aurora began, one hand on hip and the other picking at her nail.
"If you do not hurry, I will leave you behind.”
She had an important first day ahead of her. Firstly she wanted to accompany Soren to his room; Mainly to gauge the distance since she wanted to be as far from her brother as humanely possible. They got along great, most of the time, but Aurora was here because she wanted to do something with her life, follow something she was passionate about. The last thing she wanted was for Soren to hang over her like a noose.

While they arrived by car, Aurora would’ve sooner walked if it would’ve meant less eyes on her. Their family was money, their whole appearance was practically money. When money was involved, it meant a lot of stares. While she didn’t hate the “hellos” and “good mornings,” she did hate the insistent humans who got too close just to have a gander at the expensive car, her handsome brother or herself. They were vampires through and through; pure blooded. That fact alone often gave them looks that weren’t needed.

She stood just a stones throw away from Soren, her hand coming up to rest beneath her nose as she attempted to suffocate the stench of humans that walked either side of her. Thankfully she hadn’t had to wait too long as Soren accompanied her into the building, suitcases in each hand.

So far the distance was seemingly good, there was a lengthy walk and Aurora was certain that her brother would fail to meddle in her business. It wasn’t until she came to a stop at the door that she scrunched her nose up and turned to her brother.

"Seems to me that you have a infestation, brother.”
Aurora sighed and opened the door, glancing at the layout. Soren entered before she and after following, her eyes immediately fell onto the other boy.
    "Human,”
she mumbled, reaching up to pinch the bridge of her nose. How nauseating.

      annoyed at his sister

    Callum

    the protective one

Callum had thrown his phone to the side, wanting to get his bed put together before Lana forced him to help with her things. She was smart, and so hard working. But the girl couldn't hammer a nail in correctly if it was half way done for her. He laughed softly and rolled his eyes at the thought of her trying, but truth be told, she probably hasn't even actually started yet, she was probably making sure her oufit wasn't messed up from Callum falling asleep on her. It wasn't long until his door opened and he saw two people standing. He assumed that the girl was just helping the boy, brother probably, move in his stuff. "Don't worry, I also have a sister," he laughed softly.
He quickly stepped to the side as the sister hauled his stuff onto the top bunk and it wasn’t long before the man came and stepped between them, “Callum,” he shook his hand and smiled, “It’s great to meet you.” He said politely. After introducing himself, he went back to unpacking his things. He claimed one of the closests and started organizing his clothes. It wasn’t long before he heard a door opening and slamming and the sound of his sister opening the door, “Callum! I’ve been trying to get a hold of yo-oh hey,” her tone switched to flirty as her eyes went from Aurora to Soren and Callum instantly looked annoyed, “Heyyy~“ (continued on Lana’s post)

  • azalea

    the sweetheart

Azalea, is plain old freaking out. She's already had two mental breakdowns today and is onto her third. Her hooves are showing. Should she have covered them up? I mean, she could meet her soulmate today and the first thing they would think is 'fuck she's got horse legs'. Then there is the eventual 'so......what genitalia does she have?' and that's a whole nother conversation. Really, this is just going to be awful. Why is she going to college anyway? I mean, she loves learning, but school itself sucks! Well, the people do at least. But this school has at least five people she loves at it, so it can't be that bad...right?

Either way, she escapes her own mind as the car slows to a stop. Today is the day. She takes a step out, making sure to step behind the rest as they exit, as to hide her legs. She is, however, immediately taken off of her feet and swept up in a hug by her father, Oornal.
"I love you Azalea. You are going to have a great time, remember, if anyone tries anything, I will gallop here at mach 4 to kick their ass. With all four hooves."
After a small pause, with Azalea gaping at her father, she hears her mother's voice
    "Yeah, I'll bring a crowbar."
Az lets out a small chuckle as she is placed back on her feet, before turning to her mother. Dahlia stands there, small remnants of tears in her eyes which she attempts to clear away.
"Remember, if you need anything, go straight to your brother. Your father and I are also always here for you, so don't hesitate to ask us. Do you have everything? Because we can totally go back and-"
OH SHIT DOES SHE HAVE EVERYTHING? Fuck fuck fuck. Okay, maybe she does? It's fine. She's fine

"Yeah mama, I'll be okay, I promise"
She smiles, bringing her mother in for a hug. Dahlia, despite her small stature compared to many of their family members, almost crushes Azalea in her arms.
"I'm so proud of you, my little flower"
She murmurs into her daughter's hair, who squeezes her just as tight in return. And with that, she turns to the Grave parents.

Dominque is already crying by the time Azalea makes her way over to the human, but it only increases as the young girl is brought in for a hug by both the Grave parents, with Atlas rubbing his wife's back.
"I know you are going to do great Az. And if you don't, you can't come over anymore"
His wife and Azalea both reflexively roll their eyes, a smile appearing on both their faces.

As she pulls away from them, she finds an arm around her shoulder and two bags handed to her, one being her own and the other being a goodie bag from her mother's bakery,
"Alright Graves and Vegas, we better go find our rooms."

      Oh no...Please, no.

    Aurora V

    the vampiress

He had a sister? How beautiful; more rats that were going to congregate in her brothers dormitory. It worked out in her favour; she definitely had an excuse as to not come by. Oddly enough, Aurora didn’t detest being stood too close to the boy; his stench not too violating for her senses. He was definitely human but...
Aurora peered closely at the boy she just found out was named Callum; squinting her eyes as if she was trying to understand him as a whole. There was nothing out of the ordinary; no horns, fangs, third eyes or whiskers. Perhaps he sprouted wings? She tilted to the side, crossing her arms against her chest while she attempted to sneak a peak at his back— Nope, no wings. How odd.

    “Aurora,”
She introduced, stepping back and turning so she could examine the room better. How quaint; it wasn’t relatively large and...Cozy was how she’d definitely remark about it. The only downside to such a lovely room were the...Rodents.

The nicest word to explain the garble of words that came calling through the door was noise; just noise. Her ears were tuned to the slightest vibrations of noise, much like Soren, and she turned just as her brother did to inquire who was bursting through the door. The moment she locked eyes with the female, Aurora almost recoiled back in disgust— Only masking her emotions by a sliver. The flirtatious tone was definitely not lost on her and, without thinking, Aurora took a step in front of her brother protectively.
The newly acquired rodent was a vixen.

Aurora heard the buzz, that awful sound that she had only heard about. Instinctively she wretched her eyes away from the female and glanced down at her own wrist; praying and praying that it wasn’t hers. Thankfully, and with a breath of relief, it wasn’t. With that realisation came horror for if it wasn’t hers then it most definitely was— Her head snapped back to her brother. Soren. Surely it was a fault? There was no way her brother was a soulmate to a human...And one taller than her too?!
Finally actually appreciating the presence that was Lana, Aurora actually found herself tilting her head a little just to address her. Surely the girl was younger than she? How on Earth was she taller.
    “Aurora,”
she found herself repeating to the tall girl; eyes scanning Lanas hand as she reached for her brother. Definitely a vixen.
Deciding to take this moment to exit the room, Aurora walked around the duo and pushed at the door; relishing in the fresh smell outside that no longer reeked of human.

      Holy shit

    Seth

    the angry one

The man sighed as he got out of the car, it had been a long drive to Ravenwood, but he was a little excited to start up college again. Cordelia still made a big deal about his 'first day of college', but he figured that she did it on purpose now. He grabbed his two duffle bags and put them on top of his suitcase, leaning them against the handle as he put his packpack over his shoulders. By now, he knew what he needed and didn't, and would just go buy something if he needed or wanted it for his room. Which is what he was going to do this weekend for decorations, besides a few pictures he had brought. He stood in line, passing a...really big family before meeting the person at the desk, "Hi I'm Jodie! I'll be your hall director, name?" "Seth Burns," he told her, she was really cheery. How? He couldn't stand being like that for hours with all of these people. And she probably had to say the exact same thing over and over. "Alright Seth, here are your things, your room number will be in the folder. We'll be meeting out here at 11," she informed him. He only nodded and nodded in thanks as he walked into the hall. He should just start getting his own apartment near here, but he also enjoyed dorm rooms...most times. First floor, that's nice. He went to room 1G, staying away from others on the way. He walked into his room and noticed he was the first one there, sweet, bed of his choice. He chose the one furthest from the toilet, as you never know with boys, and glanced at the timer on his wrist. He'd be lying if he said that he wasn't nervous. 160 years and his timer is finally less than an hour. Holy fucking shit, in less than an hour he'd be meeting his soulmate. He was definitely freaking out now.

Now, a good thing about being someone like Maescia, you were almost always prepared. For example, she had a glass breaker and seatbelt cutter on her key chain as well as in her car. Her purse had a small first aid kit, her car had a mini fire extinguisher in the trunk as well as a jumper cables and some road flares. Most of this was an anxiety she would crash her car and get stuck. But she also liked to be prepared to help. For example, as she was looking around for that Jodie woman, she spotted a guy who seemed to be struggling with his car. He'd try staring it it, but it just wouldn't turn over. She had cables, so why not try to help? With a small smile, she approached the car, waving a bit as the guy when he noticed her. "Hey, if you-"

"Sorry, I've already found my soulmate," He blurted out rather bluntly, causing Mae's slight smile to drop.

"What? No, that's not what-"

"Didn't you hear him?" A girl spoke. Maescia had seen her talking to Jodie, so she was most likely a student there at Ravenwood. This time, Maescia frowned, reaching down to pull up to flannel Aleve to show her soulmate timer. The girl honestly seemed a little surprised but...not exactly remorseful.

"I have jumper cables, and my car is right there," The witch muttered, fixing her sleeve as she did her best not to glare at the girl. "I was going to see if he wanted help." She added, already turning away from the pair to see if she could spot Jodie again. Thankfully, Maescia did. "Right, so...I'll leave you to it," She spoke, giving them both a rather fake smile before she moved off to the residence lady. "Hey Jodie, are there any dollies students can use for unpacking?"

Turns out, Maescia was in luck. There were a few available, and Carmilla had definitely claimed one, she was able to find one nobody was using and pulled it back over to her car. Backseat first. A box of books, a box of plants, a box of baking supplies, toaster oven, witchy things, and a box with some cat toys. She'd get the scratching post later, but the litterbox and litter were both loaded onto the dolly. While unpacking, Maescia was keeping an eye on the pair who was having car troubles. They'd both glance her way, wanting her to offer help again but...well, they fucked up that opportunity. Maescia disliked being rude, but they were rude first. It was only fair. Rounding the dolly, she pulled it along to the back of her car where she opened the trunk. Here was the tricky part.

The mini fridge.

It was what you'd find in a hotel. Or, maybe a little bigger. She used it for drinks, hiding snacks she didn't want to share with her family, and of course now, it would be for her baking ingredients. Maybe her roommate would like to go grocery shopping? It would be a good way to get to know each other...anyway, Mae had planned ahead for this. Borrowing some movers straps, Mae had wrapped them around it before she loaded it into the trunk in the first place. And now it was a simple task of lifting it out and not breaking it. Maescia is stronger than she looks, so she could manage on her own. Still, it was a bit odd. But the girl after a few minutes of struggling, got it onto the dolly.

Exhaling slowly, she smiled and closed the trunk before moving behind the dolly. Getting all of this inside would be easy now, and Maescia was excited to set up. But what she didn't expect to see, at least so soon, was a girl sitting on the other bed. Maescia huffed a bit as she pushed the dolly into her room, her eyes falling on the strange girl after a few moments. She was...well, Maescia had never seen someone like that before. She looked normal...ish, but that tank was odd. And Maescia was positive this girl was almost radiating a natural energy the witch normally only felt from plants. Leaving the dolly where it was, Maescia stepped in so the girl could actually see her.

"Hi there," Maescia spoke, waving a bit. That was awkward, but introductions weren't Maescia's strong suit. "I'm guessing you're my roommate. I'm Maescia Whisp, it's nice to meet you," She smiled, her focus shifting briefly as Ladle meowed. "Oh, right, and this fat bastard is my familiar Ladle. He's going to attack your feet, but he can't do any real damage I promise," She chuckled, moving to her bed to gently scratch the grumpy man's ears. "Do you have anything you need help getting in?"

  • Arkus huffed heavily as he looked up at his mother. She'd been helping him burn off his anxieties and stress, for seven hours now. Their sparring count was four to seven, in her favor. "That can't be all you have Arkus." His mother chuckled as her son stood back to his feet. Despite how much Arkus fought against the orc tribe ways, deep down sparring and fighting was still the best way for their kind to calm down and get their heads on straight. Brandishing her battle axe, Atrika readied for another round when suddenly her feet were encased in ice about ten inches thick. "Vianda, what are you doing?" Atrika growled to her eldest daughter, the young shaman's eyes glowing with magic. "We're not even close to done yet."

"Actually, you are. Arkus is supposed to be getting to the dorms within the next few minutes." A fireball whizzed past her mother's head as Vianda smiled viciously. "And he needs to be on time for this, otherwise it's pointless for him to be going at all. It would set a bad example for the Vorel clan." Atrika and Vianda glared at each other as the male in question let out a soft chuckle. "What are you laughing about Ark?" Vianda turned to him coldly.

"You say that, but the truth is, the sooner I get to the human lands, the sooner I can buy you more outfits like that." Arkus pointed at the blue gown that his sister was wearing. For orcs to have something so....elegant, it had to mean the person wearing it was important. And as the next in line to be the Vorel Clan's shaman, Vianda fit the role. He looked to his sister and she glared at him while motioning towards their mother. To which Arkus realized what she was doing. "Hey mom, did you remember to make those salamander snack bars like you promised?" He looked to Atrika and she actually seemed shocked and shook her head before hustling out the sparring hut. "Thanks for the cover Via."

"You know it. Mom would've likely terrified the other students if she went with you. Especially any of the women there that didn't meet orc standards. You know how fairly traditional she is."

"I believe the word you're looking for is savage, not traditional." Vianda merely rolled her eyes. "Seriously though, thank you for your support Via. Nobody else besides you and mom seem to even accept what I'm doing." Arkus sighed as he walked over to the storage room and pulled out all he needed for school. "Thanks again for giving me a portal jump, I know how much it tires you out."

"Yeah yeah. Just remember our deal, once you get a chance you're buying me another dress. Preferably something black or red. Makes me feel more powerful and important." Arkus nodded as his sister summoned her magics and grabbed onto what looked to be an invisible barrier. "One jump to Ravenwood Academy." She huffed as she literally tore a hole in the fabric of space, to which Arkus walked through.

As he stepped onto the campus, he noticed a few eyes on him. He assumed that to be natural considering he just stepped through a tear in reality. He took a deep breath as he was approached by some human that looked a bit put-off by his appearance and entrance. "H-hello there. I'm Jodie the residence hallo director." She managed to force out and Arkus merely pet her on the head. At first the woman seemed shocked by the action, but it calmed her down a bit. "Thanks for that. You made quite the entrance. And although I'm used to non-humans, magic like that still unsettles me."

"Don't worry, that's my sister's gift. I'm just a fairly normal orc." He chuckled. "My name's Arkus Vorel." Jodie nodded and ran off coming back with his key. "Thank you Jodie. Best of luck with your duties, and hopefully no more magical..." As he spoke a very large black and white dragon landed in the courtyard dropping off two girls by the looks of it before turning into a very large male. "I spoke too soon." Arkus chuckled softly as he started off to find his room. "2F huh? Hopefully my roommates aren't going to be afraid of sharing a room with an orc."

  • Soren

    the Vampire

“Don't mind her, she can't be around humans for too long.”
Soren tried to explain, not really wanting Lana to feel any sort of way for Aurora leaving-- Not that it would matter if they were soulmates; Lana was going to witness first-hand all of Aurora's quirks and nuances. Truthfully, Soren noticed the small affects he had on the beautiful Lana; from the way she held her breath to the moment it released- Albeit it small, he was a vampire, he noticed the smallest of details; even the sound of her pulse once he kissed her hand. He wondered how quickly it would race if he were to kiss her sweet, supple, lips.

He watched as Lana pushed her fingers through her hair, tousling it he thought but...No. A smirk pulled his lips up and he crossed his arms against his chest casually. Was this why Aurora could stand to be in here longer? His soulmate wasn't just a regular human, no. He could feel the electricity in the room, at first he thought it to be their chemistry; Palpable. Deciding not to comment on it, Soren would allow Lana to tell him the details when she felt ready
"Aurora is the youngest of my siblings, perhaps the nicest."
For a moment, Soren thought about his family--Was Aurora really the nicest? Who was he kidding; Yes, yes she was.

Soren caught Lana attempting a glance at the mirror but before he could compliment her, the door opened and in did a ball of light flutter in place. Sorens eyebrows shot up, his hand reaching to his hair to scratch his scalp in quiet confusion. He had seen a lot of races in his days but this...This was something new.
    "Soren."
Apparently Soren and Aurora came from a family of one-lined introductions.
"I'm the roommate. Lana here is Callums, our other roommates, sister."
It was nice to meet another who he'd be sharing a bathroom with. Having claimed the bunk in this room, there were no more beds which gave him the thought; Who was the last roommate that would be bunking with the moth.

Oh boy would his sister love Felix; he could see it now. 'Is Felix okay? Is he injured? You should bring him to my practice.' Just the thought sent a shiver down his spine. His sister adored all types of animals; Small and large. He'd have to explain that Felix was a fairy, not an actual moth.
"I've never met a moth fairy before; Is there anything else I should know? Try not to spill any blood around me and we'll be fine.
" Deciding to show rather than tell, Soren gave a toothy grin; fangs on full view. They never retracted.

    Callum

    the protective one

Callum had been focused on the desk. Even he was having a bit of trouble, but at least Lana had put it out nicely for him. Just as he was wondering what was taking his twin so long, he heard someone else speak. "I knew the building was co-ed, but I didn't think they'd put different genders in the same room. I'm Tamara." He turned towards the voice and smiled politely as he stood up and shook the obviously part dragon's hand. "Nah don't worry. I'm just putting together my sisters desk. She's still across the hall for some reason. I'm Callum. Your actual roommate is Lana," he explained and sat back down to work. "She should be over here soon, but if you need any help I'd be happy to do so," he offered and smiled lightly. She seemed more than capable to do the heavy lifting that Lana would very much rather not do, but he was raised to be polite, so he'd still offer help if she needed it.

    Eloise

    the shy one

Eloise hadn't really been listening much to the end of orientation and was just waiting to be sent back to her dorm until the speaker said their final goodbye. "You all should've gotten a little paper in your folders about groups! These are relatively small and will be run by volunteers or staff. On each yard shows what number you are and who you'll be with. I know a lot of people will hate this, but have fun with the ice breakers! Look for someone holding a sign with your number on it!" Eloise immediately gripped onto the bag, groups? Ice breakers?? Two of the things she absolutely hated the most? She knew she was probably pale, if only she had been able to find Nex beforehand, just being near someone she knew would've helped her feel better about this. She dug through the folder and sure enough, the number 4 was in big, bold letters, along with a list of names. She let out an audible sigh and visibly relaxed as she saw Nex's name. She was positive that her father was looking down on her and made this luck possible. This group thing wouldn't be so bad now, right? She looked around for the numebr 4, before spotting it and walking towards it. It seemed that someone was already there and chatting up a storm. She started to grow more nervous again, Nex wasn't there yet. She tried to look around as she got there, but she couldn't exactly see over people. She could barely even feel her body as she walked over and attempted to control her breathing and thoughts. She grounded herself and forced a small and polite smile as the cat person and leader looked towards her.

Fuck. Azalea pulls out her little card, looking down at the number she now detests. 2. Great. What could go wrong?

Well, let's list the ways. Everyone could figure out how much she sucks, she could say something weird, someone could randomly punch her, okay we're getting a little carried away now. Thankfully, Damien looks over her shoulder at her number and smiles.
"Azalea!! We're in the same group!!!"
Thank goodness. She gives him a scared look, wide eyes and all, so he wraps his arm around her shoulder. She finds herself leaning into the boy, taking comfort in his arms.

Years ago, maybe she would've had butterflies at this moment. However, the two figured out long ago that they aren't soulmates, so she eventually got rid of those feelings. Now, he's just family.
"Don't worry, I'll be right with ya!"
She finds herself somewhat reassured, though she is hesitant to go with him as they begin walking. Is it too late to run away?

Yes. The answer is yes. So, she follows her friend to their area as he speaks once again.
"I wonder if someone will ask about my scar. You know it's hilarious when people find out you did it. They always look so shocked!"
Her eyes widen and she finds herself laughing along with him.
"That isn't a conversation for the first meeting! They'll think I'm evil"
She laughs as they approach the leader of their group.

    Feeling: Nervous, a little annoyed
    Location: The Quad
    Outfit: X1
    Interaction: Like-A-Moss Like-A-Moss (Seth)
Mentioned: Syfer Syfer (Eveline) - Group 6
After meeting her roommate, Maescia set to work setting up her half of the room. It didn't take as long as she expected it to, even with Ladle doing his best to get in her way at every turn. He couldn't seem to go without attention in some way for more than ten minutes at a time. Regardless, Maescia set up not only her desk, her altar, but her mini-fridge, toaster oven, and baking supplies. She of course made the offer to her roommate to bake for her, and asked that she not leave anything on Maescia's altar. Doing that would result in her deities claiming whatever was put down and sometimes it could be a hassle to get back. The only one who never had to worry about that was Ladle. Nobody could control him, jot even a god. Anyway, as she set up, Maescia kept an eye on the time. A few minutes before 11, she grabbed her phone, keys and that folder before Maescia slipped out of the room. She was hoping to avoid running into Carmilla, trying to join the crowd also heading out to that meeting. If she was lucky, she'd be able to sneak into the crowd, and sneak away before anyone, mainly her sister, noticed she was even there.

And it seemed, at least for a few minutes, that Maescia's plan would work. She managed to slip by a few people (noticing that the couple from earlier that day were both in the crowd) and found a spot she could possibly relax in a little. But the fates weren't on her side as suddenly someone wrapped their arm around hers. Specifically her upper arm, which Maescia hated. Immediately the woman moved to pull away before the familiar scent of Chanel N°5 hit her nose. "Let go Carmilla," Maescia mumbled, only to have her sister chuckle in response. That kind of overly sweet chuckle that made Maescia's Skin crawl.

"Mae, you will never guess what happened!" The blonde smiled, walking with long strides to pull Maescia closer to the front of the crowd. Without even waiting for Maescia to try and answer, Carmilla forced the brunette to look at her. "I met my soulmate!"

"Already?" Maescia wasn't exactly surprised, but it was unexpected. Carmilla nodded enthusiastically, showing off her soulmate timer now, a new contact in her phone. Maescia smiled at her. It was a somewhat forced smile, with an unsure thumbs up. "Congratulations Carmilla, good for you."

"I know right? I feel so bad for you, that broken timer is always getting in the way. Oh but don't worry, I'm sure your soulmate is out there. Maybe stuck in his mother's basement, but still!" Carmilla said with a snide smile, Maescia just rolling her eyes. Maescia was use to Carmilla saying stuff like that, and if was at the point there was no real reason to reply. "I just know my soulmate is something special, he almost seems otherworldly...I can't wait to spend some time with him! Oh! And if you ever want to help us out, feel free! Making yourself useful is always appreciated."

"Yeah, sure, I'll keep that in mind," Maescia mumbled, finally managing to shrug Carmilla's arm off her own as the meeting finally seemed to start. It seemed like standard stuff up until the groups. Why...why was that a thing? Maybe it was to give them a chance to make friends or meet their soulmates? Either way, Maescia didn't really want to do it. She would much rather got back to her room to game or something, but hey, maybe she'd get to avoid Carmilla. Looking down she opened her folder and spotted that number six. At the same time, she glanced over at Carmilla's folder and spotted the number one. "Thank the gods," Maescia mumbled, her sister eyeing her just a little.

    "What was that?"

"Oh, nothing. I'm in group six. I'll...see you later, I guess," Maescia spoke, immediately turning on her heel. It took her only a few seconds to spot the sign with the 6 on it. She had a new plan now, mingle for a few minutes and then retreat. Maescia hated small talk, and more than that, she hated having to mingle in a group where she knew absolutely no one. Maybe her roommate would be in her group? They didn't...know each other, but, they had at least met already. Anyway, hopefully it wouldn't be too bad. Maescia was always anxious meeting new people for more than a few reasons. But this was college. Maybe Carmilla would be the only person making it their goal to torment her. For the moment, it seemed to only be the group leader and one other person. She could handle that.

"Hey there," Maescia spoke once she was close enough for them to hear her. "I'm Maescia Whisp, nice to meet you."

    Grace

    The Musician

This was the last batch of kids they'd be sending off--Grace knew their mom would be crying the hardest. She'd have to be extra ready.

Grace was already by her side, rubbing her back and offering tissues along with her dad as she said goodbye to those entering their first year. They already had their goodbyes first, and it felt like only a given that Grace give her some support. Atlas and her still had each other, but she knew how much quieter the house has gotten in the past few years, going from six residents to two.

She was supposed to be focused on this, actually, but she seriously couldn't help but steal glances at August every five seconds.

It's a mystery how it's taken them so long to get together after knowing they're soulmates this entire time--and because of all this time, there's no reason to feel so giddy. He's the same guy she's lived close to and gone to school with since before she remembers, but it's just awkward. It's silly. Hopefully whe-

What the hell did Dad just say to him?

Grace was very obvious about her suspicious staring as he hugged her mom and attempted to reassure her, glancing between him and her father in thought. He definitely tried to mess with him, but something tells her it might've been at her expense, too...

It wasn't long before everyone had gotten their things together and their parents began to leave. She's not sure if it's because she was so distracted, but it felt like the whole event passed by in a flash--before she knew it, they were walking on their own and Grace had her hand in his.

    Here we go...

Grace internally rolled her eyes at the announcement of the ice breaker groups. Couldn't they think of something differen't at least one of these years?

Of course, though, she wouldn't actually complain. When she arrived at her group and saw only one other person had gotten there, all there was to do was smile and make conversation.

"Hey, guess it's just us for now?" she said, glancing around to see if anyone else heading to their group was in sight.

    Oh. She spotted August.

Goddammit. She loves him so much.
