Alpha (1-2) - There are typically one or two wolves within the pack who get to hold this rank. The alpha(s) are dominant over the rest of the pack and what they say should be considered law within their pack. They take interest in what is going on within their pack, and within their territory.


Beta (1) - There may be one in a pack, this wolf can be of either gender. They may or may not have mates, this wolf is second in command. When the Alpha(s) are not around this wolf will typically take charge as it is his/her responsibility. The beta is placed in order, to consult the Alpha(s) on difficult decisions, and to test the Alpha(s) in skirmishes, which are never truly serious and results in little to no damage of either wolf. Although, there may come a time when the challenge is serious. The Alpha(s) and Beta is typically on good terms, and see one another as acquaintances or friends.


Elder (∞) - Those holding this position are usually, if not always, the oldest and wisest within the pack. Through their stories and their phrases they pass on to the others within the pack their wisdom. They delight in telling stories to pups, though sometimes what they tell is a legend used to scare the young wolves into listening to their mothers. The wolves can be from any rank, former alpha included.


Guards (4) - These wolves are the guardians of the pack. Their job is to ward off intruders and are the responsible for the safety and wellbeing of the pack. These wolves should only resort to violence should peaceful persuasion fail.


Medicine Wolf (1) - This wolf is the head medic of a pack. These wolves have advanced knowledge upon what plants and other natural resources will help cure illnesses, or heal injuries. These wolves can also possess the ability of healing a wolf with their touch, yet that is typically one used on wolves with life threatening injuries. Medicine Wolves have a loyal relationship with the ancestors of their pack, as they often are visited in their dreams, or while at The Pond of Stars.


Medicine Wolf Apprentice - (1-2) Typically only one young wolf (typically under two years) will earn this rank, whether through birth, injury, or the Alpha/Medicine wolf was visited by ancestors. They can be two apprentices, yet such is only possible if the back in quite large. The are taught herbs and other knowledge that they will use when the Medicine Wolf before him/her retires, or dies.


Lead Fighter (1) - This wolf is the war general of the pack. They take direct orders from the alpha in case of a battle. The Alpha(s) may be the one to declare battle, but the Lead Fighter leads the fighters and plans out the battle. This wolf also trains young wolves who will become a fighter, and possibly a lead fighter.


Fighters (∞) - These wolves are the warriors of a pack. They are led by the Lead Fighter during skirmishes and battle. Although they will take orders from the Alpha, as the Alpha's word is law.


Lead Hunter (1) - This wolf is a leader of hunts, their duty is to control the hunters during hunts to ensure a kill. One false order given by the Lead Hunter could result in a failed hunt. This wolf ensures that the pack is well fed and will not starve. They also oversee that the pack will have a well balanced diet.


Hunters (∞) - These wolves are the hunters of a pack. They follow the Alpha or the Lead Hunter during hunts. Those who hold this position are loyal and quick to follow orders. These wolves have strength and ability on their side, together these wolves are able to take down quite large prey.


In-Training (∞) - This rank is for young wolves who are supervising and being taught by various ranks. They will be taught for several months, before choosing which rank they perform in best.


Pregnant She-wolves (∞) - This rank is honored. These wolves are pregnant with pups. Pregnant She-wolves are treated incredibly, they are brought small newly caught prey in the mornings and evenings. This treatment continues until the pups are old enough to move up in rank, to In-training. The pregnant She-wolves will then be placed back on the rank they had before getting pregnant.
