Special Episode: New begginings! A fresh group of students joins QHH's 2018 class
- Setember 24th, 2018: Queens, New York -
QHH school.png

The Sun began to emerge upon America's biggest city, bathing its already busy and lively streets with the first few shy sunrays of the day. People paced left and right, men and women of all paths of life, fighting off the ever-increasing chilly winds of fall as they went on about what would likely be just another day of their lives. Yes, despite the fact that 80% of the population had developed the almost miraculous gift of a quirk, the great majority of those people had no special intent towards using such quirk, be it for the greater good or for themselves. For those people, their quirk could be an occasional convenience, or perhaps even a crutch in their daily lives.
That wasn't the case, however, for a select few reuniting before a large maroon school set in Queens, just next to Oakland Lake Park. Queens Hero High. A quirk school with decades of experience at forming some of the best heroes in the country, known and respected country-wide for its history, staff, and achievements. For the people standing in front of it, the events unfolded on that day would shape their lives for years to come. It was their true beggining at a life of excelling in heroism and guts, of standing up for the little guy and facing oppression and crime head on. Just as the school motto said, a first step towards the stars: Ad Astra!
The school was a rather large complex that took over an entire block; it had a main building in the front, 3 storey tall, a running track behind it and a gym building about as large as the main one behind that. One could see the US flag standing proudly next to the army's coat of arms and the school's crest at nearly every corner, all perfectly kept and wavering smoothly as fallen leaves brushed against it, carried by the wind. Most of the staff and students where inside the building, but at the front of the school stood a young japanese-american woman. She was holding a mug with the school's emblem on it, still letting out some steam from the freshly brewed coffee in it, and she signaled at every student as they came near to stand near the front door.

Andressa.png
Andressa Kukulkan

The morning had been eventful, to say the least, her mother had gotten back late from her night shift in the city and thus running around frantically getting ready for the day. Andressa and her father simply standing at the counter taking sips of coffee in unison as the woman panics making sure everything is organised. Fortunately for all of them, the cases were packed for the dorm all ready and loaded into the car so everything was on time, but being one of the rare times their almost perfect control had slipped was something both found amusement in. The main thing they were still getting used to was the traffic, as evidenced by the colourful language being thrown at fellow drivers as they made their way to the school at high speed.

Fast forward and the dark blue Romero was skidding to a halt outside the school itself, the two of them unloading the multitude of trunks and cases, the rest would be coming later of course. The two shared a few moments before her mother departs, a hug farewell, promises of phone calls, bits of advice and more through rapid Portuguese before their eventual departure and Andressa finally arriving at the shorter woman calling her over.

"Right, as long as I'm not on the top floor and hauling all this up before class i'm swell. Reason a made sure the stuff had wheels"an almost rhythmic accented voice sounding out, holding her accent strongly as she takes a seat casually on top of one of her many trunks, raising her leg to rest an arm across it, the other flat on the top of the container and giving it a few knocks for emphasis. As she waits Andressa allows her eyes to wander, taking in the scenery and buildings of the place that was set to be her home for the next few years, in addition to potential classmates scattered around. This should be eventful, thought it was a shame she missed the fun of the test, gaining admission through recommendation was good and all but she really felt like she had missed out on some real fun.

Eiji1.png
Eiji Nykvist

Sure it was an important day for Eiji, but that didn't mean the routine that had been drilled into them was any different. Heck, she wasn't even in the military herself but was still being expected to wake up just as early and go through the same PT, though at least this time she could dress in some of the cuter clothes for her first day. Parents strict as always she simply smiled, nodded and stood at attention. Her belongings had been packed neatly into two large trunks with a heavy padlock and secured in the rear of a military hummer. They had said only two, but a few small tricks of her own had gotten far more in them than they likely expected, out of breath afterwards but it worked at least.

The trip across the city from the barracks was uneventful for the most part, Eiji staying calm and reserved on the surface but internally was bumbling with excitement, several years off the base, no heavy regulations, no constant inspections, no hiding contraband or keeping up the salutes and pageantry, and that was all on top of actual hero training!. Her eye moves to a small messenger bag at her side with her sketchbook, she had already got her costume all planned out and it was going to look amazing! I mean even if they couldn't do some of the stuff, the rest would work out, plus it would look amazing regardless. Her grip on the bag tightens as the vehicle comes around the final corner to the view of the flags signifying the next step for her future.

Almost jumping out of the Hummer, their eyes widen taking in the campus, before taking a breath to compose themselves and turning as their parent's exit as well. There is a long look between them followed by a salute, there is no long farewell simply the words "Make us proud" before they part ways, Eiji watching as the Hummer vanishes off into the distance. She stands there in silence for a few moments longer before turning to the trunks. Each larger than even she was and full to the brim, she could carry each only just....but well, she might as well start taking advantage of her new location. Placing one case on top of the other she takes a deep breath before taking a grip of the lower one and lifting it as if it was almost weightless, carrying both towards the woman at the academy door, peering outside to make sure the way in front was clear before depositing them almost too softly in front of door and leaning over the top, only her head and arms visible.

Letting out the breath she was holding with a long exhale she looks to the woman and speaks, a cheerful if thick Swedish accent sounding out from the towering beauty "Hello, Orientation for the academy yes? Do you know where to take my belongings?" her gaze moving along the area in front along with the other students gathered. This place was run by the old drill sergeant of her parents and yet it seemed far more relaxed, especially if the woman in front was anything to go by, though the fact she had gotten to the #1 school through recommendation still surprised her, I mean she had a powerful quirk for sure but it was nowhere near capable of what she had seen from real heroes, well at least not yet.

It was Queens Hero High. It was definitely a nice looking school. For her first day at the hero school, Gemma wondered what would happen.
Who would she meet. Hopefully she'd make some good friends and perhaps even more. She carried her beautiful pearl white luggage.
It would've been nice if somebody could've carried her luggage for her but alas that was not the case.
Who would she meet today? What would they be like? Would they be strong?
It seemed a woman was waiting for them.

"Hey! Over here. Yeah, just stand there for a bit, I don't mind if you talk. I have to at least pretend that I'm checking the roll call, you know. I hope you're all excited for your first day!"
Excited? Perhaps. Worried? Alittle bit. Curious? Extensively. She knew she had what it took to be a hero. Her quirk was good. But there would be others determined as well. She had to keep her guard up. Letting her guard down for a single second always resulted in instant regret.

Lance Edwards
Not for the first time in the past week, Lance felt his heart pounding against his chest as his thoughts wandered to QHH. Queens Hero High. A prestigious school that was unmatched in the country. A school that Lance himself was going to attend for the next few years. Every time the idea of him attending such a school appeared in his head, a small part of him always scolded himself for believing that he was truly going, and warned him that it was simply another of his parent's ploys to get rid of him. Despite him continuously pushing the thought into the corners of his mind, he knew that it was at least partially true. His parents, along with the rest of the Edwards family, were eager to be rid of him once and for all.

However, this time, Lance didn't complain. After obsessing over is quirk for the better part of his childhood, he was filled with exhilaration knowing that his next destination was somewhere he could continue to enhance his abilities. Yet, as pumped as he was, the idea that he was going to become a hero caused him to wriggle uncomfortably in his seat. First Class on a United Airlines flight, but that was besides the point. He simply wasn't sure about the long term outcome of his enrollment in the school, and things that he didn't understand irked him. Whatever, he thought, by the time I'm done, nobody will be able to stop me from doing what I want. Especially not my family.

His thoughts continued to drift until he heard the announcement to buckle up seat belts and to upright the seats as the plane was prepared to land. Moments later, after a noticeable tremor passed down the plane as it contacted the ground, Lance was already rushing out the door. Before he left, he made sure to brush his hands across his overhead luggage (a suitcase and a backpack) but other than that, nothing slowed him down. As he neared the security check, he quickly ducked behind a pillar. Reaching into his pant pocket, his hand closed around the smooth surface of marble. He took it out and, making sure that the security guards weren't paying attention, he gently rolled it across the floor. The inconspicuous sphere of glass passed harmlessly through the metal detector, past the long assembly of those waiting to be checked, and eventually came to a stop close to the exit. Moments later, as a new group of passengers finished the security check and began to flood towards the exit, Lance suddenly vanished. Where he was crouching moments earlier lay the same marble that he had just taken out of his pocket, while Lance himself was already stretching his arms as he looked up towards the clear, blue sky outside of the airport.

He had no time to spare, though. Glancing at his watch, he realized that he only had around 3/4th of a minute left before his efforts were wasted and he had to return to the airport for his luggage. Cursing airport security, he rushed past tourists and travellers alike as he sped down the street. Taking another marble out of his pocket, he pulled his arm back and whipped it into the air with all his strength. People on the street gave him a weird glance, but in a world where individuals could fly and shoot fire from their palms, Lance was pretty much ignored.

Just as the marble reached the peak of its arc, Lance activated his quirk and found himself suspended 50 feet in the air. He laughed as he began to fall, but not before he threw another marble across the sky in the general direction of the school. It couldn't have been more than twenty seconds that elapsed since he first left the airport, but the school was already in sights. The size of not only the school grounds but also the main building itself surprised Lance. Even after growing up in a mansion, he was impressed by what he could see. He expected nothing less from one of the top schools in the country.

He threw a final marble straight down towards the ground. A few seconds later, he swapped, and he was once again standing on solid ground. He checked his watch. He had exactly three seconds remaining. Quickly tossing two marbles onto the ground in front of him, he watched as his suitcase and his backpack suddenly appeared in front of him. Grinning, he swung his pack onto his shoulder and grabbed his suitcase as he head towards the front door.

HEBI MOTO
Hebi had been staying in an inn since she arrived in New York around a week ago, so what she was most looking forward to was getting their dorms today. She had walked to the school since she had no idea how to hire transport, but it wasn’t too bad considering the place she was staying at was only a few blocks away. She stopped to take in the sight of the humongous school. She couldn’t imagine getting used to the idea that she was actually going here. She fixed the sleeves of her white turtleneck shirt as she reaffirmed her hold on the handles of her two pink and white flower patterned wheeled suitcases and made her way over to the young adult who was calling for the students to gather around the front door. She didn’t understand all of what the woman had said, but apparently it didn’t matter. She let go of the handles once she reached the door and pulled out her phone from her small salmon pink purse that draped her shoulder, she had matched it to her mid thigh pleated skirt of the same color. She had only seen a phone for the first time a week ago in the airport due to being sheltered from the modern world her entire life. She was obsessed with the new item, she even bought it a cute marble phone case. She opened it with her fingerprint, it took her two hours to figure out how to set that up, and she starting dinking around on it. She lightly kicked one of her legs as she balanced on one foot which was supported by white athletic tennis shoes and thigh high white socks. If anyone looked at her closer they’d notice the light outline of scales on her skin. They hardened drastically when she willed them, but you could still faintly see them on her cheeks and randomly all over her body. If you looked closer to her matching attire however, more specifically her skirt, you would notice that it seemed to move on its own thanks to her two king cobra snakes she had hidden. She wasn’t sure on the rules about pets, and she wasn’t going to risk having to give them up since she used them not only for companionship but for her quirk when she needed to. Her face lit up when she got a notification from her email, which she had just set up the day before. It was just spam, but that didn't matter to her. She held onto the home button of her phone and waited for siri to pop up. “Thank you for the notification,”she thanked the robot with glee. Thanks to her strong Japanese accent the poor personal assistant couldn’t tell what the hell she said.

Katja sighed feeling she was causing a scene, not because she was acting up or getting in a fight, but because if the maids. Her parents had not really been on board with this hero thing and Katja has need to plead harder than ever to go to a hero school. Her parents had of course decided to send her to the best as if she was going to do it she should learn from the best. Still just because thus was the best hero academy that didn't mean that everyone had money. Katja in fact was likely to be the only one to have maids that actully followed her around and helped her. This without a doubt made her stabd out just as much as her wheelchair did. Really this was not the impression she wanted to give of some rich kid buying their way in And having others do everything for them. Still after awhile of trying to convince the two women to not do their jobs fear of their employers win our over the deals of their charge. The two would not be here forever, just delivering her things and likely buying groceries, and maybe a weekly vleanong of the dorm room. That thought brought another sigh from Katja there was no way she would serm even remotely normal or approachable with maids constantly coming and helping out. This also went against the learning to live on her own thing she wanted to do.

There was little Katja could do she would just have to stand out.
"Fine fine lets just hope people think it is my quirk or something" She said with a sigh.

"It will be fine I am sure no one will mind that you got a little help these are heavy" one of the maids said. Both had large trunks of clothes and other nessary and in nessary objects.

Katja just led out another sigh. She touched her wheelchair making it into a golem and it started to move on its own towards the entrance. The two maids following behind Katja easily carrying the heavy trunks, both dressed in a stereotypical maid dress despite not having too.

"Obviously."

Jia glared at the back of her driver, for all the good it did. The man had been a driver for the Sun family for years and he'd perfected the fine line between the respect owed to his employer's daughter and indifference to humoring a teenager. For Jia's part, he'd been a hero, he was an ass right now and eventually he'd be a hero again, depending on her mood. If she'd been honest with herself, her mood had been awful lately. But self-analysis was never Jia's strength and it got in the way of a good sulk. Being sent off to boarding school was definitely worth a good sulk.

She finished texting a friend she probably wouldn't see for God knows how long while the driver unloaded her bags and eventually made his way over to her side of the car. When he opened the door, she emerged into the bright morning sun and just stared at the manor of a school she was consigned to. "If the Headmaster's a bald guy, I'm running," she says in a warning tone to the driver. Well accustomed to her humor and mercurial temperament, he ignored her except to shut the door once she was clear.

"Don't be late, Ms. Sun."

Yeah, no love lost there. He left her with the car while he went to check in to deposit her bags in her new room. And Jia wasn't going to just stand by the car, looking like an idiot, while other students gathered by the doorstep.

So Jia set off across the spacious pavement, walked by the manicured lawn and made eye contact with anyone who made eye contact with her. By the time she approached the doorstep, Jia's spine was straight and her hands were in the pockets of her jeans. Wearing a Vienna Teng t-shirt, she looked perfectly ordinary

Lance's arrival was spectacular enough that Jia openly whistled. "Well, this guy knows how to make an entrance," she said, mostly commenting to herself but clearly audible to anyone remotely by the door.

At last noticing the tall blonde, buxom Swede, Jia's eyes widened appreciably and she just stared for a second. Then she shook her head, muttered "Jesus," to herself and forced herself to pay attention to the orientation girl just ahead.

Jia promptly deposited herself right in front of Sarah Irino and caught the intro. The perk of the girl was too much. So Jia grinned and said, "Oh, I'm super excited for my first day! It's just an honor to be here, you know? It's a dream come true! I can't wait to hear what we do first!" Her false cheer was so perfectly delivered, it walked the fine line between sincerity and parody. [/div]

Andressa raises an arm in greeting as each new arrival shows up, giving a casual wave as she takes in each new arrival. The first concealed behind what must be ton of luggage carrying it like nothing before she put it down and she could get a clear look from her angle. Andressa's eyes raise for a moment as her mouth hangs "El Gigante!..." Well strength quirks definitely on the list, looking down to her own chest for a moment as she pulls her jacket back, ok she had the goods, that girl had the entire market. Leaning back a little more as the giant looks away, well at least she still had the advantage in back if not by as much as she would have liked....then again something needed to balance all that.

The next cute doll-like girl seemed guarded if a bit of as uppity air, The guy that suddenly appeared looked like walking money but also twice her age, they had cases sure but that cant be a student right?, the next chica more like a horned viper in human form, then one in a wheelchair with maids? Nossa looks like a stiff wind would knock them down that cant be a student. Finally an Asian beaut, designer garb with kinda of a strange mix between prim and proper along with that gang like strut ... well fit the rest of the loco mismatched bunch that showed up.

As each new person showed up a thought kept growing in her mind, apparently, the entrance exam had already come and gone so they already had a batch of students save the normal handful of recommendations to fill up the final spots, but with the number of people showing up just how big was this class? Maybe the pass rate just that low? The dropout rate that high? It was definitely unexpected from everything she had looked up prior to arriving. Turning her head slightly to look at the mug wielding teacher at the doorway she tilts it up before speaking, getting her attention at first "Ey Beleza!, These all recommendations? seems to be slightly more than a top up coming in, what's up?"

Eiji shifts slightly as she gets comfortable as she waits, pressed chest to chest atop her luggage, arms crossed over the cases to give her a relaxed stance and clear view, head turning to each arrival with a smile and a nod a first impression forming from each. An urban dancer, emerald geisha, wealthy playboy, snake phone hybrid, make a wish hero and finally meeting the wide eyes and open mouth of the eastern princess in plain jane wrapping. Waving a hand towards the girl with a wide grin "Hello, The time will be very fun....cant wait to see everything here and where it goes...oh and get settled in new home. But yes super excited too....but so many here to join today, was school not already started?"

She wondered what the room would be like, the school's facilities as well. Eiji was far too used to living in the more militaristic and bare bones function over form style back home, having to make the most out of all the space. Others she had seen of the base had so much more space and luxury, if unorganised and scattered. They had the full go-ahead to splash creativity and personality across their rooms while hers? not so much. Then again this was a training school for heroes run by a drill sergeant so maybe not as much, but maybe not given how flashy and stylized heroes where. Looking to her cases, she had enough savings from the past few years to really get more for her room in addition to this if there was room, sure she got a stipend from her parents but there was a certain fun in growing that through the gambles, schemes and other hijinks in the surrounding areas. Come to think of it, she really hadn't checked her balance in a while, I mean there was the interest as well that gets added on given it was one of those high interest hard to access ones..eh never mind. something for later.

Katja looked around the group here seemed to be an intresting lot, it was a little more than she expected; but the fun of life was surprises. Scanning each Katja just found them to be intresting holding off on any real impressions. That might have more to do with one person than any actual disinterest or reservations. The purple haired girl just barely hidden behind her trunks was stacked. Katja was no stranger to ample bussoms, though many of those were sadly fake. Still guessing by the girls are and that she didn't seem to be trying to show off her huge assets Katja guessed they might be real. If they were real she had to find out what the he'll her parents fed her and where she could get some if it. Looking around again Katja found each girl to be a cutie in a way so jack pot on that account. Katja had been doubting the boarding school thing as she had the pent house her parents had paid for already, but well getting to room with a cute girl from this group hopefully, would make it all worth it.

"Man there are more people here than I thought" Katja chuckled her voice containing only a hint of an acvent. She almost had to make sure to have one as she heard Americans found accents cute "Well the more the merrier as they say it is nice to meet you all" She continued her to be cheery and open rather than the cold concurred tone one might expect from the rich "It might be a bit early for introductions , but I am Katja Glinka"

Justin's suffered quite the imaginable past few days before arriving to his new school. His mother crying over her "baby boy" growing up to be a man often going through his baby pictures and discussing his decisions with her coworkers. His brothers often teased him and wrestled him to the ground more often to see the new "hero" in action. Hell even his father kept making a scene utilizing his bragging rights to the neighbors that his son was going to be the next number one hero. With the continuous chaos that had been happening for that few days he rarely had any time to himself and was really putting the hurt on his passion for skating. Even the trip over to his new school was a severe pain. He couldn't even start his live stream because his parents and brothers kept messing with him and asking him the same questions over and over again. He loved them all to death, but they were so overwhelming at times. His father drove them as his mother kept video taping him from the passenger seat making a bit of a commentary about her baby boy joining the hero academy. He sat in the middle of the back seat between his elder brothers who kept putting him into a headlock and gave him a number of noogies before they had actually arrived. As Justin exited the car his brothers helped him unload his things handing him his duffel bag full of his skating equipment and tools to make necessary adjustments. He slung the bad around his shoulder as he grabbed his other luggage back on held it firmly in his hand saying his goodbyes to his beloved family. His mother had the usual habit of removing his beanie and attempt to fix his messy long hair which he often avoided, but for today he allowed it.

As his family drove off he waved to them chuckling a bit to see his brother's making their usual childish faces towards him. It would be a while before he would ever have to put up with those knuckleheads again, but oddly enough he was going to miss their usual tough love. Justin took out his cellphone as he stood in front of the school and began to take a few selfies making both goofy and charismatic faces. He would probably stream later since orientation was no doubt starting or was about to. Quickly making haste towards the school he could practically feel his heart pounding out of his chest. He was nervous and truly didn't know what to expect from such a prestigious academy. It was certainly going to be different from his old schools added to the fact that he was uncertain if he had made the right choice given he was only here for the money to start his own skating company. He began to relax his nerves a bit as a few people he had assumed to be students came into view. An unfamiliar voice called out to him and instructed him to remain where he was for the time being. "Ah yes. Thank you." He awkwardly replied not sure as to what to say. It seemed as if the other students were introducing themselves which Justin wasn't the fondest of. Delivering a speech to a crowd was a little more difficult then doing it over his phone then what he was used to. Still he paid attention to each student that spoke taking note on their personality and overall cheerfulness. He didn't really see a student that he wouldn't get along with and some seemed overly excited about being here. He was curious all in all, but truthfully he was just worried about the prime spots for where he could skate freely around.

Sarah.jpg
Sarah Irino

Just as Sarah expected, she was bombarded with plenty of questions and reactions from the colorful bunch of young faces before her. Some seemed excited, some bored, and most of them very nervous overal; she could already guess which ones might show up in her office a few days forward for a cup of a coffee and some emotional support. She smiled at the two students who asked her questions, taking a nice, lazy sip from her coffee as she let the replies pile up. Once there were enough students that she could safely claim to have made a mistake on the roll call count should she be forgetting about anyone, she leaned towards the busty swede who asked first and said:
"Yeah, this is pretty much what I am here for." Then louder to everyone: "I'm Mrs. Irino, your school counselor, but please call me Sarah. We'll all be taking a quick trip to the Auditorium to welcome you. Next stop is your rooms, I promise! So follow me."
As she turned, she leaned towards the latino girl and replied to her and the Swede:
"I know, right? Less than a third of the classes by now haven't even taken the test. I don't handle that stuff, but from what I've heard, it's part of the reason why QHH has such strong ties with big hero agencies. One hand washes the other. I sure hope this doesn't shatter any expectations of the real world you had, sweeties." She added jokingly, then finished the rest of her coffee.

The students where then directed by the staff member through the hall and the main corridor, and downstairs towards the basement. The school itself had pastel walls inside and dark brown tiled floors with golden footers and the occasional wide window. The main hall was chocked full of trophies and class pictures from previous years: one could see even recognize hero names such as Trickshot and CoalHead in them. The hallway further ahead had been scrubbed to shine and the whole corridor emanated a quiet, tranquil feeling of holliday as there was no student or teacher in sight... Yet, at least. The school counselor was bringing them to the staircase at the right of the hall and then downstairs, where the auditorium awaited.

Waving her hand casually at Sarah. the girl finally stands up from her seat with a few stretches, stroking her forearms through her hoodie before resting the hand on her hip "Eh it's fine, just guess I pictured a more intimate induction. Kinda makes me think something went down to scare half the class off compared to usual numbers I heard about....well that or slim decent pickings from the normal applications". Shaking her head, Andressa piles up all her cases and boxes on the base one, secured by a rainbow strap to keep everything in place as she wheels it along, though face faltering at the sight of the stairs. Sighing deeply as she mutters to herself, sarcasm in her tone "Pão, pão, queijo, queijo.v" stretching a bit before taking a deep breath and carefully lowering the cases down each step, a clack and shaking of the pile with each small movement as it slowly descends. The interior at least seemed far more impressive than the exterior, taking note of the various trophies and class pictures as she goes, stopping and doubling back a few steps at one particular display as she sees someone who looks awfully a lot like her with tonfa's though in rainbow patterns in a news article next a trophy "Record arrests 2000....trip to the red zone?" raising an eyebrow before realising she was holding up the proceedings and carrying on, only to facepalm at the second set of stairs.

Keeping the warm smile and simply nodding to the teacher, Eiji perks up further at the mention of finally going inside. Taking a deep breath before hoisting up the giant trunks like before and following along behind the teacher at the front, the small slit between the two cases giving just enough view in front to avoid knocking into things as she tries not to be too distracted by the various displays, she could check them out eventually either way but for now didn't want to hold up the others. The first set of stairs went smoothly despite the colossal weight that seemed to be in her arms, putting the trunks down for a second with a shaking of the ground emerging and loud clack as they reach the second set going downwards. She exhales the breath she was holding but otherwise seems relatively unaffected by the weight, casting a glance behind her to the rest before as she waits to descend the stairs and rests for a short moment.

Her name was Mrs. Irino. She was the school counselor. They'd be heading to the auditorium to introduce themselves. One by one? Too much time.
So much waiting. Now they'd be waiting in auditorium? This was beginning to get boring for Gemma. She personally didn't know how to interact with the other students that showed up. She didn't really know them. Maybe it was better to be quiet than find out they had nothing in common. It would ruin things forever if she just messed things up on the first day. She would have to wait for somebody else to talk to her.
She followed the others, not saying a word. She realized she hadn't said anything at this point. Nobody would really know anything about her yet. Perhaps for alittle longer she could hold onto that. Walking down the stairs she held her breath. Would it always be like this? This felt so lonely and boring already.

With her hands stuck in her jean's pockets, Jia tilted her head to look at Andressa and found herself nodding along with the good observation made. Her parents had swung her admittance through political clout and God knows how much pocket money. Was that the case for the rest of these students? They had most of a classroom's worth out here already. Or was this just how the school kept itself funded? Alumni, even famous Heroes, presumably couldn't cover the whole cost of this education by donating. It was an interesting, cynical illumnation of the nature of hero-training and Jia quite enjoyed learning it. It did, after all, fit her preconceptions.

Her own enthusiastic greeting was answered by the tall, amazingly stacked woman waving and grinning in response. "I didn't expect so many other recommendations either," Jia admitted to Eiji, stepping close so she could get away with a lower, less disruptive volume. "I'm Jia, by the way. Nice to meet you." If Eiji showed any inclination to shake or something, great, but at least Jia had started networking a little. Getting her name out there, hopefully getting a few names in return.

The girl in the wheelchair made her own introductions and it forced Jia to actually focus on the other girl. Why on earth was someone in a wheelchair attending a school that turned out Heroes? How the hell was she going to compete? Or was she just here to hone her Quirk and ignore the competitive bullshit? Either way, it was an opportunity to get her name out in return. After all, everyone turning up today had something in common; they were at a disadvantage. They hadn't passed any exams, they'd come in late, and undoubtedly the 'real' Hero students enrolled at Queens Hero High would be giving them shit soon enough. Strength in numbers, and all that.

"Hi Katja," she answered back, loud enough to not only reach the girl in the wheelchair but be heard by the broader audience. "Never too early for introductions. After all, we're all in this together, right? I'm Jia Sun."

CapRock CapRock
Sarah pissed her off. It wasn't Mrs. Irino's fault, precisely. She just happened to have the unfortunate combination of being friendly, reasonable and in charge. Jia's ability to put up with authority figures took an act of conscious will. As it stood, she could put up with Sarah Irino but reflexive dislike was her default. Even if the only-slightly-older woman probably didn't deserve it. Jia did grin at Sarah's casual dismissal of the school's quotas and the 'real world' it bespoke. Grudgingly, her dislike meter ticked slightly closer to like for the school counselor. An adult who didn't feel the need to lie to teenage students just because they were teenagers? What other miracles might this school hold?

Karcen Karcen
Jia filed along with the other students, through the corridor and towards the stairs. Noticing the old fashioned school construction and the main route the students took, she saw an opportunity and immediately took it. Drawing back slightly, Jia caught up with the wheelchair-bound girl and said, "Hey Katja? If you don't want to use an elevator, I can get you down those stairs. You know, if you want to stick with the main crowd."[/div]

Smiling warmly to the Asian girl the swede extends a hand to shake "Oh I am certain there is a reason, you would be surprised how many can meet a challenge, but lack the fortitude to keep that up." chuckling a little before letting go of the hand. Despite all appearances, while the taller girls hands were soft, there was also the telltale ridges of calluses within the firm grip. Such built up through hard work but clearly moisturized to attempt to take the rough edge of such. She turns to give a nod to the wheelchair girl as well before formally introducing herself "I'm Eiji, Eiji Nykvist...and I mean its never too early to say hello to the people you could potentially be spending the next several years with right?"

Lance Edwards

Lance tugged at his suit collar as introductions were shared among the small group. Tiny, in fact. Despite the fact that it was one of the top schools in the country, perhaps even the world, it was odd to see such a small handful of students in front of the massive stone building that towered above them all. These students must be no pushovers to have gained admittance to such an institution, and for the first time in his life he allowed himself to accept the notion that he was surrounded by like-minded individuals. It didn't matter to him why they chose to undertake a hero program. No. What mattered was that, just like him, they were all standing here at the front door of Queens Hero High. He recognized that regardless of their backgrounds or previous lifestyles, each one must have demonstrated considerable attributes and skills to arrive at this point. And that meant they were good...really good. Nothing had yet to happen really, but Lance was already pumped.

Lost in thought, Lance didn't even notice the time passing. He was finally interrupted when the school councillor, who introduced herself as Mrs. Irino, beckoned them inside the building. As he joined the group of students, he noticed a boy among the cluster of females. Growing up as the only child in a mansion opened Lance's eyes to the power in friends, or at least companions, and he felt as if it were only proper to at least introduce to someone of the same gender first. As Lance walked past him, he slapped him against the back with his free hand. He looked back as he continued walking and said, in a playful tone,

"Race you down."

Dropping his suitcase and his backpack onto the ground, he suddenly began to run towards the stairwell. Right as he reached the stairs, he leaped towards the wall across from him. As he flew through the air, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a marble and threw it down the second flight of stairs.

The poor snake phone hybrid didn’t know what was being said. Everyone seemed to be talking at once, and her limited English prevented her from being able to translate everything before someone spoke again. She slipped her phone back into her purse to pick up her suitcases since everyone else seemed to be getting ready to move. Sensing her worry her snakes seemed to cling onto her legs tighter than normal. She took it as them trying to give her a comforting hug, but in actuality they were clinging on for dear life. When Hebi got anxious in her human form she was more accident prone, and her snakes being as close to her as they were knew what to expect. “Um ah,”she looked around at the taller kids as they all started to follow the guide. “Does anyone know.. where we are going,”she asked worriedly to the crowd of students. Her voice wasn’t loud since she didn’t feel comfortable shouting over everyone with her strong accent, so she was worried that no one would hear her. Her eyes widened a bit when she saw a male race past her to run down the stairs. She decided she’d wait till the other students made their way down before her. Knowing herself she would have slipped down and caused a scene, and she knew she didn’t want to be known as clumsy.

Andressa cranes her neck back as she walks to the small voice behind her before turning and looking down "Huh? Hmm" thinking deeply for a moment before responding to the little-horned viper. A look of realisation for a moment, before searching for the right words as the look of confusion becomes apparent. Flicking her fingers she flashes a wide grin before speaking once more "Orientēshon Omō...Wareware wa soko ni tsuku toki.....watashitachiha...shirudarou?" from her tone its clear she's a little rusty on a few of the words, and the pronunciation off but the message should come across enough. She could tell from the girl's speech, lost look and little fascination with her phone earlier she was likely new to the country, while she hadn't spoken the language in several years, she knew enough to at least give directions and hold a basic conversation. Choosing to take a seat on her cases one more while she waits for the rest to pass, propping her leg up once more and looking to the smaller girl.

*Roughly translated "Orientation I think, We will see when we get there"

The small viper looked up at the girl in front of her in awe. Gorgeous tall people were everywhere it seemed. She didn't know what to say when the other didn't say anything for a moment, but her eyes lit up hearing her native tongue from the others mouth even if it was a little rusty. Orientation huh? She wondered what that would be like. With such a prestigious school as this was it must be something special. She guessed that they'd get shown their dorms after orientation so at least that gave her ease. "Arigatō, watashi wa mada eigo ni nareru koto o kokoromite iru,"she gave a little chuckle. Her snakes stopped squeezing her thighs as her heart beat settled down. She was relieved that at least one other student knew a little Japanese. "I could try.. speak English,"she replied the best she could. She didn't know how much Japanese the other knew, and she didn't want to be a bother.

*Roughly Translated "Thank you, I am still trying to get used to English."

Chuckling to herself at the small girl she reaches over and ruffles her hair a little "Its fine...trust me I know what it's like getting used to a new country language, several times over in fact. You can open books, but honestly more you speak of it, easier it gets" eyes travelling over her now she was closer, noticing the hair snakes finally and looking to them curiously "Name is Andressa by the way" raising a finger to point towards the snakes "So you got a Medusa thing going on?.... Always wondered how those sorts of quirks work, like is it like a cats tail? or do they have a personality of their own?" a bit of a smirk crossing her lips as she speaks, though consciously slowing her speech a little to make it somewhat easier to grasp.

Jeremy Thompson

Jeremy turned a corner, his lanky form running as fast as he could. He was late, he was supposed to be at Queens like 10 minutes ago. Goodbyes from his family had taken longer then expected, tight hugs and happy pats on the back. After that he had to let out his passengers for a bit and let them gather nectar. They'd get ornery if they didn't get their breakfast, and accidents happened if they were ornery. Factor in his last minute packing and Jeremy was running late. His things were packed into a backpack that was slung over his shoulders, there wasn't much luckily. But it still had took a while to gather, resulting in his current rush. Jeremy cursed the fact he had to wear this zipped up get up, not for the first time. This time it was because of how hot it was, even with the built in 'vents'.

Turning a quarter, Jeremy finally spotted the school. Queen's Hero High, his new school. Jeremy could hardly believe he had got in, it still seemed like a dream. It hadn't been easy to qualify and ultimately pass the test, but he had. Now he just had to show up. Speeding up, Jeremy couldn't help but gawk at the lush trees and extravagant buildings. It seemed so out of place in the New York he knew. So... clean. A far cry from The Bronx he had grown up in. At any rate, he didn't have time to think on it. He hurried over the courtyard and through the front doors.

It took all the willpower Jeremy had to not stop in his tracks and gawk at the various trophies around. This was just... incredible. Jeremy had never seen such glamour in his life. Hurrying forward, Jeremy quickly stopped by a staff member and asked for directions. They graciously pointed him down the right hallway and Jeremy did his best speed walk. Seeing the back of the group, Jeremy did his best to fall in with the rest without attracting too much attention. Considering he was a six foot ten panting mess enclosed in a worn zipped up suit, it was bit futile. Looking at the two students in the back, a curvy dark skinned babe and a girl looking to have some kinda snake quirk, Jeremy decided to make sure he was with the right group.

"Uh, excuse me," Jeremy said in a quiet yet deep voice, "Is this the orientation group?" Jeremy crouched slightly to better see the two through the black visor incorporated into his hood/veil/mask/whatever.

Andressa gives a faint nod with a tilt of her head, before gesturing over to the rest of the group gathered "Yep, Join the party....also catch your breath, you might semble the inverted cousin of a certain asthmatic dark lord but no need to sound like them too" eyes moving up and down the spindly boy, covered completely, tall....but thin like a tree that grew to fast and just waiting for a stiff breeze to knock them over. There appears to be a strange fluctuating air pressure around Andressa ever so slightly each time she moves, along with a faint static that unbeknownst to her would likely throw the hive into confusion, unsure if the sun was out for a bright day, cold wind or an oncoming storm. "Got a name?"

Hebi listened intently as the other talked, silently thanking her for speaking slower. She didn’t mind the others hand in her hair, she was just surprised at the unexpected contact. “That’s good advice,”she smiled,”It’s nice to meet you, my.. names Hebi.” She was doing good till she forgot how to pronounce the word name. She ran her finger through her hair when the other mentioned it. She normally forgot about the little vipers. She opened her mouth to respond when someone came up to them. Her eyes widened at the new persons size. They made Hebi look like a shrimp. She was glad Andressa answered before she could make a fool out of herself. She gave a small wave to the tall kid. Turning her attention back to the girl she responded, "They're like a tail.. they don't do much besides move around sometimes. When I feel strongly." She hoped her limited wordplay had gotten the point across. Her hair couldn't do anything for combat, and she couldn't really control them so they had no real use. They just added to her whole snake look.

Jeremy Thompson

Taking a moment to stop and take Andressa's breath advice, Jeremy breathed deeply and stopped gasping like a fish. Looking at the two girls in front of him, he spoke up. "Uh, I'm Jeremy. Jeremy Thompson," he said, rather shyly. He looked over the unnamed chick who had confirmed he wasn't horribly lost. She looked confident, sure of herself, and no doubt powerful. He liked her clothes, nice shade of yellow. The other snake chick looked pretty demure, but nice enough. Jeremy smiled beneath his veil, maybe he could make some friends. Opening his mouth, he said, "So, uh, what's you na-"

B-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z

Jeremy was abruptly interrupted by a low buzz, clearly audible and a sign of the consternation of his passengers. Something seemed to be confusing them, he could feel them moving inside him. They were almost... lost. No, that's not quite right. More like confused or offset. Something was throwing them off and they didn't like it. More and more bees began to gather at the various entrances dotted around Jeremy's body, like they were preparing for some invasion or disaster. Embarrassed and flustered, Jeremy backed up a bit, muttering as he did. "S-sorry, uh, sorry. It uh, well, sorry, this sometimes happen." Backing up about 5 feet from Andressa seemed to calm down the bees, as their buzz trailed off. However, they remained grouped at the entrances, still on guard.

As the girls headed towards the auditorium and she made her offer to Katja, Jia glanced back at Eiji and accepted the hand, shaking it firmly. Her own hands were surprisingly similar; regularly treated to keep them supple but clearly used for routine, hard work. So was the girl herself. Although still a teenager, Jia's body had a certain conditioned physique, the kind that came from regular, demanding exercise. Her skin tone was darker than the average Caucasian and it's plain she received a fair amount of sunlight every day. Still, she had flawlessly straight black hair and the kind of clear complexion that would make her a knockout, if she could be bothered to make the effort.

"It's nice to meet you, Eiji. I'm Jia Sun, if you didn't catch it earlier. And you make a good point. I didn't actually plan on coming here, this was my parent's idea. But since I'm here, I might as well make the most of it. The truth is, we're all in this together. So, hello, it's nice to meet you and I look forward to being your classmate, Eiji."

Jia's tone stayed light and breezy but there was an underlying steel to the sentiment. She hadn't planned on coming to QHH but, now that she was here, Jia had no intention to coast through.[/div]
