The men convulsed for a minute, and both rolled over clutching their chests when the electricity passed. They waited for the supposed witch to do what she wilt and leave. When she did, one opened his eyes finally. He quietly toppled over and squirmed a few feet over to Camille. The other began yelling for help.

"SHH! Shut up you idiot! Do you want to bring her back?!"

"Well, we have to do something!"

"We're gonna handle this calmly, like Mr. Takemora always tells us to. We're gonna go and tell him, and he'll handle it. No need to disturb the guests or the workers." Camille began to cry. "I know, I'm coming Camille, I'm sorry."

Down the stair well Mint could see a simple metal rail lining the four story drop. The entire stair way down was dimly lit with red lights, and large air conditioning ducts line the ceilings. On the bottom floor was a hallway with identical structure, and at the end of that was a wide door with thick rivets and metal strips. It had a large lever handle like on an industrial refrigerator for a restaurant. When Mint reached the bottom of the stairs, she could hear a metallic tapping and scraping coming from above her.

If there was anything Decker needed to do now, more than ever, it was keep calm. Even if he wanted to celebrate his bluff working for the time being. Somera's repositioning did pose an issue. Now he had to keep his eyes moving between both of them. Still, he remained calm and confident on the outside. 'Well I'm not gonna tell them everything, but a few tidbits shouldn't hurt.' At this point he had managed to undo his tie and had it wrapped around one hand, just in case he needed to choke them out. As he spoke to answer Shival's question, he kept moving backwards at a steady pace.

"I'm a Niner. You're from the lower Districts too, right? You know how it is down there, fighting just to eat every. Single. Day. You've gotta learn to be real good at what you do before you can relax at all. Even then, letting your guard down for even a second might be your last mistake. So when someone says they can help you live in luxury for the rest of your days, you take the offer. All I have to do, is see how far I can go." Decker's awareness was slowly coming back, and even then he knew where the steam valves were. If they were going to launch themselves at him, he was ready.

...

As Mint walked down the stairs several floors below, her mind wanders to various activity she normally did at this time. Listening to music? Playing with cats? Messing with codes and nodes? Yes. Infiltrating casino to rat out criminal? No. She never thought this kind of job would be the one she ended up doing for a living. Unlike Bryson and Decker, she didn't have any real combat experience, hence why she had been relying on her ranger power to do the rough job. At least it's working so far.

"A blast door." Mint commented at the sight of the reinforced door in front of her. She would want to examine the door further but the noise coming from above her drawn her attention away. Something is crawling inside the vent. The thought of it suddenly made her shiver, like a drowned memory trying to make its way to the surface, but Mint had no time for flashback right now. She's not a comic protagonist.

"..." Focusing her mind on the vent, she yanked down the cover and levitated herself into the duct line while aiming her taser at the source of the noise. If its a potential threat like a robot or another person, she would tase them.

Shival’s eyes flitted from Decker’s face to his hands. He hated having to try and read human facial expressions, such emotional creatures. Gorgons were much simpler. They had two facial expressions, calm, and enraged. As such while Decker talked Shival mostly noted how he was preparing his tie seemingly for combat. He did sound sincere in his description of the lower districts, and such a similar experience with Shu. It was all so infuriating, the complexities of the situation.

“Well, then it seems we are at an impasse here. We have two different jobs. Yours is to see if you can get past us. Ours is to kill anyone who does that. Here’s what I think, if we eat you, Shu will know his security is good, and won’t hire any more nimrods to interrupt my drinking!” And with that the being leapt at Decker. His eyes turned yellow, and fangs extended from the top of his mouth. He went airborn like a predatory cat pouncing on it’s prey. His ‘other half’ scampered with metallic clangs and slaps across the ceiling seemingly attempting to get behind the Blue Ranger, who’s duty has officially begun. Her physical characteristics began changing as well, including her head widening slightly to a more lizard-like skull shape.

shadowstrikr25 shadowstrikr25

Mint could see nothing at first in the vents, as they were pitch black aside from the little light coming in through the hole where her head was. The scampering stopped a moment, and then got more frantic and much louder suddenly. A blur of fur and claws lunged from the blackness at the girl, leaving her barely enough time to fire before it jumped onto her face and began mauling and scratching anything it touched.

Mint swatted the incoming animal with her hand away, threwing it down the duct hole onto the floor below. As much as she wanted to tase it, she didn't want to accidentally zap herself. She felt a bit nauseous as she stared into the darkness of the vent so she quickly pulled out her phone and turned on the flashlight.

"Big enough." A faint smile could be seen on her face as she realized that she might be able to pull the classic sneaking-through-the-vent act. She knew well how that trope was impractical since it would be noisy for someone to actually crawl through it. However, she had something that other secret agents didn't have. Ranger power!

She concentrated on herself, carefully floats her own body and snuck into the duct line without touching the thin metal sheet that formed it. She took a few moments to adapt herself with the sensation but soon she was floating gracefully like fish inside water. With her flashlight phone floating in front of her, Mint made her way deep into the vent.

As Mint used her bare hand to deflect the advances of the small creature, it had bitten and scratched her viciously before she could shucked it off into the chamber below. She might notice the creature was very hairy and plump, however small about the size of a basketball. It had a mouth which seemed to take up most of it’s body, and long claws on all four paws like a mutated cat. It’s eyes were anything but cat like, peering up at Mint as she floated into the duct the rest of the way. It began to let out panicked squeaks and chatter almost like a small monkey. It ran around the bottom level of the stairwell frantically trying to find a way to climb up the walls and back into it’s abode.

Behind Mint, she would be able to hear more of the things speaking up at the intruder into their home. Down the ventilation shaft Mint could see a three pronged fork. The two on the sides seemed to be longer halls, and the center opened into a larger chamber with a large industrial fan and very warm air blowing out of it.

"I'm not a fan, of fan."

"..." Mint tried to crack a joke at herself when she spotted the fan, but it didn't turn out as good as she thought it would be. Maybe because she said it in such monotonous tone? Or she actually nailed it, but didn't notice it? Her social awareness was such a mess, Professor Ender said something about it connected to her brain damage but Mint herself somehow felts like she wasn't that different of a person back in her birth station.

Oh, wait. She got distracted and spaced out again.

A large fan in front of her, behind her those furry noisy things keep squeaking. Mint tried to peek through the fan but found herself unable to. She didn't know where exactly these evidence that Faunt wanted so she must check every single room she stumble upon. Fortunately disassembling devices was an easy things for her. Sometimes she tinkered with electronics in her workshop and with her telekinesis she could even do it without any tool, as long as the parts were connected with something like bolts, screws or nails. She couldn't do much to welded parts so that blast door or the electronic door from before weren't something she could just solve with ranger power. After a few moments Mint succeeded in unscrewing the fan from its frame and now could see what kind of room was beyond that.

'I'm honestly surprised that worked as long as it did. Go me.' Shival's little 'impasse' line gave Decker more than enough warning to prepare for an attack. With the steam valves close enough to either get to or throw someone into, he was about to ruin some snake people's day. 'Wait, are they even affected by steam? Questions for later.' As Shival launched himself towards the interloper, Decker fell backwards, bringing his legs to his chest. Really, that little story should have given these two a bit of warning. Decker was quite comfortable fighting in cramped spaces.

Once Shival sailed over where his center of mass used to be, Decker launched his legs into the Gorgon's torso in an attempt to not only knock the wind out of him, but also launch him in the path of his girlfriend. Plus it created the benefit of having both of his opponents coming from the same direction. Quickly launching himself back into a standing position, the rogue kept his eyes on the pair, tie in hand, and gave a hand gesture with a fairly universal translation.

Mint's joke rang out around the metallic structure she floated in, and was met with the angry chattering of a crowd of the critters behind her. They flooded the little room she was now in, with the fan disassembled on the ground of it. It was large enough to stand in comfortably, and just as wide. On the far wall was the room on the inside of the blast door, which looked to be storage of some sort, but was too dark for her to tell at the moment. There was also a large air conditioning unit in the muddle of all the crates and sheets. Not that that should be the Pink Ranger's main focus. A wall of fur, claws, and teeth flooded the little metal box she was in, filling half of it in seconds.

They grumbled and crawled over each other, gnashing and spitting in her direction. Their little black eyes trained on her every movement. The one closest to her was nearly close enough to clamp onto her foot, and seemed eager to do so.

Decker's Jiu Jitsu skills were sound, and he successfully used the alien's weight and momentum against him. Clearly his people did not value grappling, as he had no idea how to stop himself from tumbling into his mate whom had dropped down behind the Blue Ranger. They both collapsed to the ground, and struggled over each other to attempt to stand. Decker would likely notice the man seemed far denser than his skinny frame would suggest when tossing hisfull weight on his legs.

"Ouch! Stop!" Exclaimed Samora as Shival pushed on her face to stand up. He leveled himself out and hissed at Decker, his neck flaring to twice it's size like a bullfrog and the skin ripping a bit to reveal scales underneath. He widened his fingers, and also through the skin at their tips grew long razor sharp claws. He swiped at Decker's throat with his right talons, and if they missed would surely rip into the pipes on the wall next to him.

"Decker-" Said a crackling voice in the ranger's ear piece. "Mint- You!- Lost- Armor- Full Permission- Covers Blown-" Were all the words he could make out, if he could catch it at all through defending from his attacker.

Mint gave the animal near her leg a kick before propeling herself past the disassembled fan. One, two, theee, four... there's too many to count properly. She must handle them now if she wanted to search the room below in peace.

"Guess I'm now a fan, of fan." Disregarding her own failed joke, Mint kicked the blade of the large fan on the ground and it immediately stood upright, covering the majority of the room as if the frame was still holding it. The blade started to spin in the opposite direction than its original one, making it blows wind into the room instead of blowing air out of it. At first it spun slowly, but soon after it got faster and faster until the blade could only be seen as a blur. The powerful spin made the sucking power even stronger while Mint just watched with a blank stare at the sight in front of her. Yes, she tried to use the fan to turn those mutant furballs into mincemeat.

The first three or four of the creatures were hopelessly chopped up by the psychic assault Mint put towards them. Many tried to recoil and turn back, scrambling over one another in an attempt to reach safety. A dozen got away and scampered off down into the darkness. The rest became a pile of entrails, flesh, fur, and teeth at Mint's feet. Her legs and some of her belly were splattered with black fluid, seemingly the creature's blood. It admittedly did not stand out much against the black cocktail waitress outfit she still wore.

"Mint- Report- Okay- Report- Lost- Blown-" Came Faunt's voice in her ear, cutting in and out at random. The hybrid storage and air conditioning room on the other side of the grate to her lit up suddenly, as the light switch was flicked and each industrial overhead light came on with a loud pop. Mint would notice the sheets were covering vehicle shaped silhouettes, and the crates were all marked "explosive" or "fragile."

As Shival stared down Decker, clearly enraged, he would notice that the rogue seemed to be in a near constant state of motion. Once the claws started flying towards his throat, he quickly ducked down and wove out of the way while adding a little push towards the pipes for good measure. 'Well now two questions are going to be answered.' With his hand sliding off his assailant's scaly arm, Decker seemed to transition into a half handstand in order to bring his heel whipping forth into the guy's sternum, attempting to knock him into the wall. Using the force of the impact, he quickly righted himself to get ready for whatever they were going to throw at him next.

The transmission itself was still heard, causing no end of irritation. 'So I'm down here, in the ass-end of a casino, with a pair of snake people, and you're just going to call to abort? Who fucked up? I'm guessing it was Hot Hands. Or Mind Meld.' Unfortunately for Kenny and the boys in blue, these two wouldn't let him leave alive if they were conscious.

Mint didn't bother wiping those murky black blood from herself and instead was amazed by the fan's blade, like a kid that just found a new toy. The way those mutts were chopped and dismembered by the blade was... disturbungly satisfying. She made a mental note to ask Piper to add a very sharp chakram weapon into her arsenal later. Improvising weapons on the fly like this wasn't much of her style, but she admit that it was quite a thrilling experience. She decided to bring the blade with her, now onto the investigation! Mint pulled all sheets, open all crates and examined all shelves she could find, trying to uncover as much as possible. She frowned when Faunt suddenly tapped in and sent a strange message, she replied to him.

"Instruction unclear. Please repeat the command."

Upon Decker's dodge and redirect, Shival's claws buried themselves into the pipes in the wall as if they were made of cardboard. Steam hot enough to seer skin sprayed out, however the man seemed unharmed by it's high temperature. When he pulled his hand back, the fake skin which had been covering it was completely melted off, revealing his lizard-like appendage covered in scales. He was going to try for another swipe, but Decker's donkey kick nailed him in the sternum and he flew back into his girlfriend once more. In a rage, he hissed and roared, and his head began to expand. Eventually the skin ripped and fell off of it, revealing a face which looked more like a cobra than a man, with a wide flared out neck to match the theme. He got slightly more buff, and the suit which previously hung off him like a scarecrow was not filled out. Still he looked gangly, but a little thicker. His mate followed suit, clambering out from under him and tearing her own fake skin from her body. Her dress remained on, but a bit ripped making her look like a cave-woman who had found clothes. She resembled more a black mamba than a cobra like her mate. Both writhed and warped around each other as they loosed a wild flurry of claws, attempting to wound Decker in any way they could. He would notice due to his spatial awareness, that venom dripped from their fangs as they bared them.

On the other side of the industrial air conditioning unit, the men who turned on the lights in the storage room were speaking clear enough for Mint to hear every word.

"Where did we put the plasma casters, again?"

"Next to the D.O.O.M. Buggy."

"I can't believe he hasn't sold that one yet. That thing is tightttttttt." They sounded young. Mint had pulled the sheets off of a vehicle or two, one resembling a go-cart with hover wheels and a back-mounted turret for a standing passenger. The next was a small whirlybird with sonic boosters on either side.

"COVERS- REPEAT- COV- BLOWN- ENGAGE ENEMIES- RED- TO YOU-" Said Faunt urgently. It was clear something was blocking the signal, possibly a result of being underground. Just as the men began rounding the corner, nearly able to see Mint, the sound of gunfire could be heard outside the room. Men yelling came from a garage door to Mint's left, and the door through which the two men entered at the far side of the room opened suddenly with a slam. "Rork! Mickey! Get the fuck out here! There's an intruder!"

As he managed to right himself, he bore witness to the pair of now very enraged Gorgons begin to literally shed their skin. "What, I just thought you guys should blow off some steam! No need to get so heated!" Thankfully his spatial awareness was coming back to levels that would actually be useful in a hallway with a steam pipe venting its contents. Plus, the steam billowing out gave him some cover to hopefully get out of here quickly. The only issue at this point was that the snakes were trying to rush him down.

If there was one thing Decker hated about fighting in cramped spaces, it was that there were only so many options for movement. 'Can't run backwards, there's a closed door and they'll gut me. Rushing head on is a great way to get blended, so it's time to get a little creative. I really hope they don't want this suit back in one piece.' Decker appeared to rush the pair, quickly attempting to slide under them as the claws were centimeters from his face. Adding to the inevitable destruction of his current gettup, he was using the tie to try and trip one of them. After all, they were so entangled they both would drop if one fell. To complete his trifecta of less-than-ideal decisions, he got ready to summon his weapon.

Decker successfully made it to the other side of the Gorgons, and in wrapping his tie around one of their feet and yanking, they both crashed to the ground for the second time in as many minutes. As they thrashed and clambered to stand up, they caused several slashes and cuts to form over their scales and clothes. They yelled and argued with one another, saying it was the other’s fault fervently. Regardless, they seemed momentarily distracted and Decker was now on the side with a door leading further into the compound, from which he could hear vague shouting and gunfire. The two attackers apparently did not notice this over their struggle. The steam still poured out on top of them, and created a bit of a haze between Decker and the aliens.

Having once again managed to get the pair to crash into each other to spectacular effect, there was time for a little rumination. 'Man, Shu must really be scrapin the bottom of the barrel. No wonder that horseshit was believable.' Not one to waste an opportunity to further his own ends, Decker casually made his way towards the door leading further in as the Gorgons bickered with each other. 'While cover's now out the window, I think I'm gonna pay Shu's books and stash a little visit. Wonder if he's actually got disintegrators?' With a quick tap of a keycard, the door opened and Decker, now sporting his bracer, moved further into the facility towards the sounds of shouting. 'And knockin down a few mooks is great stress relief.'

"Covers blown. Engage enemies. Red is coming to me? Understood." Mint replied to Faunt's vague instructions while observing the men's interaction from behind her cover. She wasn't sure why their cover had been blown, probably Decker messed something on his part. If Red was coming to her, does that means the one being shot out there was Jason?

Well, first things first. She must engage these four men here. The place was perfect for her, lots of objects to hide behind and thrown around but she decided to just use the industrial fan blade that was still in her possession. Should be enough to crack some skulls. Focusing her mind on the blade, she once again made it spin to gather momentum until it produced a wind strong enough almost suck her face into the blade. She peeked over a crate to aim at her target. One, two, three, four. Two near the door, two near the middle. For a brief moment she contemplated whether she actually needs to kill them but something deep inside her compels her to do so.

"Death saucer, go!" As if possessed by demon, the still bloody fan blade made its way to the two men near the door, Mint didn't want them to escape so she aimed at them first, and after that the blade would start chasing the othe two younger ones. Mint was aiming on their heads.

Just as the far door in the corridor shut completely the Gorgon pair of lovers had collided with it. Of course the reinforced metal simply rattled behind the Blue ranger, who had stepped into a stair well leading down four stories. Seconds later, the edges of the door behind decker crumpled as claws forced themselves into the small gaps between the door and the frame. The gorgans heaved and ripped the solid steel clean off it's hinges, and stepped back to allow it to clamber to their feet. Samora was the first through the door, her glossy black skin glinting in the now bright overhead light as she aimed to bite into Decker's right arm from behind. Shival ripped a pipe off the wall to his side, filling the dark chamber with steam which poored out the door. He held it above his shoulder and launched it like a Javelin past his partner at Decker's torso.

The man who had opened the light wooden door of the storage room on the other side of the air conditioning unit never saw the giant fan blade coming. His head was ripped off sloppily as the uneven industrial blade tore through flesh and bone. His body dropped to the floor, and the man immediately behind him screamed and exited the room again. The fan, now slightly bent soared via Mint's telekinesis towards the two goons of Shu's crew, Mickey and Roark. Mickey ducked with incredible grace and agility, not taking a moment to question the attack. As we've seen, that's what gets men killed, taking time to think. Roark, the man behind him pulled out some sort of pen-sized object and held it in front of him, taking a defensive stance as if holding a rapier for fencing.

A beam of blue energy escaped the piece of technology, which collided with the metallic spinning weapon of scrap metal in a burst of sparks. This stopped it's momentum, and by turning his body and flinging it off to his left the leftover pressure from Mint's power buried it into the wall beside him. He then rounded on his apparent friend.

"Hey what the fuck man?!" He said like his roommate had eaten the frozen pizza he was saving.

"What?" Asked Mickey blankly as he stood back up.

"You were just gonna let me get chopped in half!" He said, the six foot energy blade resembling a needle retracting back into it's black hilt.

"Oh come on, don't be sensitive, you had it." Said Mickey, rolling his eyes.

"Man, fuck you, come help me kill this other intruder," Said Roark, beginning to casually check around the corners of cargo searching for Mint at the left half of the room. He was about fifteen feet from her now, on the other side of two rows of boxes and spare piping. Micky hopped up onto the air conditioning unit, scaling it like a monkey in a short second or two. He hung off the side and scanned the large room's back half, and pointed to where mint resided near the vehicles.

"There! By the whirlibird!"

"Ohh, plasma saber. I want that." Mint mumbled to herself as her attention was drawn by the shining blade in Roark's hand. She remembered playing around with its fake replica when doing research for her games but she never got her hand on the real one. When the climber spotted her from the wall she immediately focused her mind to the task at hand. Extending her hand forward, Mint's eyes glowed in faint pink light as the objects in her surrounding started to rumble. Crates, shelves, pipes and even the vehicles started floating.

"Eliminate." The floating objects started rushing towards the two guards in chaotic manner, like an invisible big angry child throwing a tantrum at them. She was too focused on trying to remove the threats that she even threw those crates with 'explosive' and 'fragile' on it.

A box of guns the size of a coffin sailed first in Roark's direction. He advanced towards it, once again extending the weapon he wielded from it's small hilt. When the box neared him he took a swing at it with one arm vertically, which sliced the thing in two with it's razor-thin edge. Out of it spilled now-ruined firearms of a rifle variety, their halves seared and melting from the heat of the plasma weapon. All scattered behind the swordsman.

"You better quit that, if Shu finds out you're damaging product you're gonna get the boot!" Says Mickey, hanging upside down from one of the pipes which line the ceiling. Just as he did, Roark dropped his body parallel with the floor and used his momentum to slide beneath the flying super-charged go-kart with a turret on the back Mint had also thrown directly at him. It destroyed a pile of product behind him as it collided. He then switched his path to jump on top of some cargo, leaping from box to box while the items in the room smashed on the walls one by one as Mint threw them.

"How about you help me KILL HER FASTER and we'll break less shit?!" Said Roark, jumping from above Mint and aiming to pierce her with the fencing-style plasma sword he was thrusting her way.
