It is always a fun thing when things go your way. Setting up the ol' batter up trick didn't fail! Volmour became the ball, and the Rangers a bat. Glove that caught the ball in this case was a wall. Didn't mean to rhyme at all. Oh!
Getting him and his gun woman on their knees did mean Sousatron was open for business. Jane spent a long time in school band, and not once did she ever want to physically break open a tuba! Even when that one tuba player accidentally dropped his empty case on her foot. Could have been heavier but it hurt like a bitch. Accidents happen... Jane did put valve oil in his chair, though. Watching him slip around like a goof was just the greatest... She's chuckling inside! Back to the action. Olivia's mind breaking scared her. Calvin, as well. "Just hold on, we've got you!" Jane alerted her. "Blue Bio Blast! She fired and aimed with everybody else, hitting Sousatron's arm right under Drew's blast. Take that, loser horn man!
"Green Bio Blast!" Calvin fired his as well, lighting him up like a Chirstmas tree. This didn't kill him but at least it got her mind safe! Along with all those other people, too. That's wonderful. Nobody hurts his friends or fellow civilians. No one.

Regrouping around Olivia, they both took point and kept their weapons aimed at him. "Glad you're okay," Calvin told her when he got there. His technical boss and friend meant a lot to him. He would be lost without her!
"Hey Sousatron, this one time at band camp," Kane started the classic joke, "I shoved a flute up your shiny metal a--!" She loudly declared, Calvin shushing her before it got too weird. Hey, this is Olivia's time!
---
"I do hate a retreat, but if your grace demands it," Volmour bowed, picking himself up again and sheathing his weapon. Sousatron did serve his purpose, so he could be eliminated now. Waste of metal if you ask him. At least they had what they needed. Victory comes in all shapes and sizes, that is clear. Beaming up with Actera, Volmour knew he would be in for a heavy work load in what they had acquired, as well as probably recovering what would be left of Sousatron. How odd to plan for your allies demise. But seeing he is useless now, it matters not.
---
"Yikes! I know we should be grateful to not be around one big fireball explosion today, but shouldn't there have been one before... this?" Jane also pointed out, wigged out at the fact that Sousatron became a giant without exploding first. Formulas can't be ignored like this! Bad guys show up, cause trouble, kick butt, get their butt kicked, evil plan is foiled, boom, everyone goes home. Like she once dragged Lucas and Drew by their ears for question the need of posing, she would drag this tuba by its metaphorical ear! Tomboy fury!

But before they Zorded up, Jane did slap Lucas' arm. Hey, she caught that pun! "I'm quite a sharp girl, Lucas," she said. A sharp. A...sharp? Eh? She can do this, too, she's the pun queen! Calvin hung his head while Drew called for Bio Command. Now this is worrying if they're all Earth has to hope for. "Let's be more concerned with not getting squished," he said, being the sensible one. Picking times for this stuff is not their forte....FORTE? SHIT, CALVIN, NOT YOUR MIND TOO!
"Bio Command, Megazord!" Entering the base and assuming MegaZord mode. Fun fun! Jane and Calvin took position, re familiarizing themselves with controls. Such big guns. Such ability to keep the city safe. This thing should be their default robot! A letter of recommendation might need to be on the Captain's desk later this evening. Olivia fired the Break attack, throwing their firepower all in at one time. Good move! Finally, the threat had been terminated. Olivia's mind is safe. And so is another day in Inezia. "What he said, ma'am. Happy you're back with us," Calvin told her.
Jane on the other hand personally took offense to the continuous jokes. Puns are her thing! She jumped over Drew's part of the controls to swat Lucas, then reaching behind at Tidal. "Hey knock it off before I shove a flute up your--!!!"

"Hey, watch the suit!" Drew said as Jane went over him to get to Lucas. He would hold her back but he learned the hard way to not get in her way. Tomboy fury is real and painful. His ear still has the stretch marks. Still, it's better to be getting silly in the cockpit over getting blown up or mind wiped by a talking tuba terror. Alliteration is a fun thing to do, as well as a fun word to say! Puns, not so fun... boy, they make a lot of those. Drew caught in the middle of it all just let it happen lest he get his suit caught in a wedgie!
Olivia snickered and smiled under her visor. Scuffing on the floor slightly, her foot tapped. "I'm happy to be back. I would have this no other way," she told them. D'awww!
---
Special moments led to weird testing. Fading scenes. HQ reverted to building mode, connecting with other attachments of the building via tubes and whatnot. In civilian form, Drew stood aside as Dr. Wilson hooked Olivia's mind up to the same device as earlier. Scans indicated on screen that her cerebral patterns were going back to normal. And her blood pressure is healthy, white blood cell count is fine, maybe her iron's a bit low. Something told him that a lot of what they were seeing was irrelevant at this moment. Hmm. "Well, Garrett? What is your verdict?" Captain Scott asked from aside, watching the screen.
Dr. Wilson crinkled his old nose and adjusting his reading glasses. "By my calculations, Olivia's brain patterns indicate she is where she needs to be. She will be fine. But how we didn't realize it was memory suppression is beyond me, truthfully told." Wilson scratched his head, really wondering about that.
"I supposed there is some technology that the Armada has we still don't quite understand. Hopefully we can take the analysis and put it towards preventing it in the future?" Olivia asked, removing the things from her head in her ever-curious mind. Asking questions, wanting to learn, and being optimistic. That's their Olivia!

Drew smiled, letting out a sigh of relief and running a hand through his dark hair. Leaning on Jane's shoulder his eyes scanned the monitor. Yup. he didn't understand any of it, other than what Wilson explained to them verbally. "What do you remember, Liv?" he asked her carefully, not to upset or jog her any at all. Shrugging, she stood up. "Not much, I'm afraid. I do however recall acting like a... princess? Something about a kingdom, a prince charming... " Everything ran through her mind but it all seemed silly. Drew held back a laugh. So she remembers nothing at all, huh?
"I do remember, though... a gunman at the Corner? There was an attempted robbery... Someone was shot and...what are those things called? Bagels?" Olivia looked confused. Drew widened his eyes. Corner? Gunman? Bagels? Ehhhhhhh?

They got lucky. If not for them being happy about their intellectual Pink being back to her senses, someone would have gotten a lot more than whacks and potential flute shoving! Speaking of those flutes, what was the relevance of the devices in the instruments? Emitters of some kind? Never got an answer to that one. Oh well, not like it matters now since they won the fight and saved the day and the princess. Der-uh, well.... yeah the princess. Jane totally isn't changing Olivia's name in her phone to Princess at the moment, no way, Jose. Both she and Calvin stood at attention with the others waiting on Olivia's test results. It was good to hear she was normal again. Even asking questions and making input already. "Whatever stuff they have up in their ships, it's better left destroyed out of harms way," Calvin said. Amen. Jane shrugged Drew off of her shoulder. What's the big idea with that? Weirdo.
"Hey, anyone think the parade is still on? Can't have just been advertising it for a trap... Well with out luck, there is no parade at all. Damn, I wanted cotton candy..." Jane said, bummed out. Cotton candy is so freaking yummy! You'd be bummed too!

Smiling at her and shaking his head, Calvin listened to Olivia when asked about memorizing anything. Bits and pieces of her princess time remained but not a lot. Both good and bad thing, that. Better left unsaid, seeing how she might be embarrassed with some of that stuff. Calvin didn't like the idea of being called a guard envoy, so he didn't want her remembering. He already salutes every time she or another officer walks into the room. He didn't want to have to bow, too.
"So you don't remember kissing Tidal and referring to Wilson as your butler?" Jane blurted out. Calvin gave her the most awful look, eyes twitching. "What? I'm curious!" Jane yelled out, arms out.

Wait... what about a gunman shooting someone at the Corner? How did that nonchalantly get mentioned? And did she ask what a bagel was just now or..?

Now that was a brief but sweet moment. Olivia wouldn't have it any other way. And let's be fair, neither would anyone else on this team. Weird as they may be at times, with puns flying everywhere at the worst timings possible, it was just what made these people who they were. It was what made them a team. Please never let that change.

Soon everyone was back at HQ. Technically they were already there and it was HQ going back to where it needed to be, reconnecting with the tubes and all. But that aside... they were at HQ, the Captain and Dr. Wilson where there, and Olivia was hooked up to a machine to check whether her brain was truly back to normal and not at the risk of relapsing into ditz 2.0. Whatever the waves on the screen indicated, Lucas and Tidal had no idea. They're no scientists! So they both just had to take Dr. Wilsons word for it all. Thankfully it was good news. Her mind was back, no longer suppressed, and back to her usual levels of being a genius that sometimes is a little ditzy. Much better than the ditzy with little intelligence to be noticed. Judging by her asking questions and wanting to know things again, she definitely was back to normal. Cue a relieved sigh from both Lucas and Tidal. They did it! They had their Olivia back. The one who would kick butts and do science, instead of running around thinking she's a princess.

Speaking of which... Drew posed a good question. The two guys turned their attention to her. What did she remember, indeed? After all... it was a rather strange day, wasn't it? Thinking that maybe the Armada is friendly, not wanting to be a Power Ranger, thinking she's a princess... kissing Tidal.... She seemed to recall bits and pieces about acting like a princess. Lucas couldn't help but chuckle lightly. If anyone was to blame for that weird fantasy, it's the Armada. Not her fault there. That moment where he punched Tidal was totally justified because the scruffy broody man had been implying things. Both turned to Jane in horror as she blurted out the question they had hoped nobody would ever ask. It was hard to tell who seemed more embarrased at that moment. Both guys turning fairly red. Should they keep staring at Jane in horror? Look at Olivia? Each other? Now what?! Someone help out!

Now that second part of what she remembered, however... that was more shocking. Gunman at the corner, people being shot... and... "You forgot what bagels are?" Lucas asked, feigning utter shock.
"Of all the things you could forget...." Tidal shook his head. Today was a sad day. Olivia forgot what bagels are, one of the key things that connected her and Lucas... a thing that had played a crucial role in them finally becoming a couple.
"In all seriousness though.... a gunman at the Corner? People getting shot at?" That did really concern Lucas. Hadn't Max and Evie followed Olivia there? That had to mean they were present when people were shot. What if it was one of them... or both of them getting shot at?! Or what if it was Isaac?

Her face grew as pink as her costume, Pepto Bismol and strawberry milkshakes combined. Should she be more concerned about hearing she kissed Tidal, forgot about bagels, or the fact that everyone just found out about the near hostage situation at the Corner? Even the Captain had a bit of a look on his face. Sinking back into her seat, Olivia's ditz meter kicked off of the charts. "I think I... left my flat iron on. Bye!" she said and excused herself, scurrying like a little mouse out of the command center. Drew and the Captain watched her make exit. "Hey wait. Her hair isn't straight, it's curly today. Olivia!" Drew called after her, chasing her down through the hall. "What happened at the Corner? And what made you forget bagels?" Drew asked, likely being followed by other curious Rangers.
Chuckling slightly, Captain Scott and Dr. Wilson glanced at one another. "Seems all is in order again, right Garret?"
"All is well, Captain. All is well."

Celebrate while you can, Power Rangers.
Far above in the depths of space overlooking the planet Earth, Splica relished in her addition of knowledge. Revealing to her generals, Splica had obtained not only more data for the Pink amp to be used later, but also many secrets. Something interesting about the city itself. Blueprints for the dome surrounding Inezia and other cities. "Our orchestral commander did not pan out as well as we had hoped. But we do have this," she said. Inner workings of the city, all from Olivia's memory banks. Copied and transferred right into the main computer. Six small pings on screen coming from within the base revealed something more interesting than the Pink Ranger's psyche being tapped into. Inezia has no secrets now. The time to exploit these secrets would be soon. For now, something more sinister grows on their ship.
"I do believe it's time we land ourselves a spot on the Earth. Reports tell me that of the remaining 16 cities, we have just eliminated 2 far off on the planet. Fourteen human cities are all that are left. Commence the beginning stages of our latest plan," Splica commanded. At her request, the main ship of the Armada searched for a spot on Earth to call its own. Soon... they would land their fleet in the wasteland. The battle for Earth is upon them!
---
Olivia nearly lost herself today. The Armada has gained new information, but the Rangers have gathered something interesting as well. A new perspective, and a new appreciation for their ditzy comrade in pink. Goes to prove that even when lost, Olivia's good nature finds a way.

Arc 32: Overgrowth

Fourteen human cities remain on Earth. Fourteen damned cities are all that remain of organized society for the planet Earth. Homo sapiens inhabit their planet all over, still, in limited numbers in the remaining cities under domes or in the vast wasteland plaguing the grounds of Earth. Desolate space being the larger portion of the world. Land wasted, overrun with suffering. Life could be flourishing but the Rexians have made sure it finds fewer and fewer ways every day. But in this instance? Empress Splica plans to give life back to the Earth. Oh yes. Something sinister grows aboard the ship at the tip of the Rexian fleet above Earth. To land her forces planet-side, she needed vegetation. Not just any vegetation but specially formulated seeds off of the far away planet Zenine. Seeds of the rare Zeninian plants produce oxygen, are succulent so they require little water, grow rapidly at the speed of 300 mph (482 kph) and spreading its vines far to lands away. Plant the seed in one spot, it'll have spread sprouts to the other side of a continent in no time. Like a weed, it's a hell of a plant. Splica oversaw the beginning stages of the Zeninian seed take root in an incubator. Earth may think it to be a new specimen, a super plant. Oh it is, but what a thrill they are in for. With this, Splica will not only make the land suitable for her and her ships to land comfortably, but less humans will be around to get in their way.
---
Soil and vines are key elements of plant life everybody knows about. If not for the well constructed lights of the dome, plants would not thrive under the domes. Lack of real sunlight would be devastating! But this moment is not about plants, directly. Panning from a scientist reviewing a new soil type to grow fruit with, Dr. Wilson places an object of metallic red inside of a case, lining it carefully and sealing it up for presentation. After his trial in the courts over treason, he'd undergone a special assignment to atone for his crimes. Drew's parents were gone, more or less, because of Wilson. His son passed on, and somehow fate led Wilson and Drew into one another's lives once more as allies fighting for survival. Getting more acquainted with him, Dr. Wilson began a project for Drew's ranger series. Spikes from his Squadron Mode armor sparked an idea in the old mans head. For the last while, Wilson perfected a new operation using energy from the morphing grid, experimental tech and combat functionality.

Olivia's mind is normal again. A bit flushed, but she's fine. Awkward to be around some people though. Isaac is fine, too, the crook at the Corner is serving prison time and in a criminal work program. Who do you think cleans up after the debris of fallen Armada thugs scatters on the streets? Community service at its absolute finest! Sweeping up pieces of giant tuba is a fit punishment.
But she was back to work in no time. Extra hours of work, studying up on everything, monitoring her respective field, getting her work done efficiently. She'd assisted Dr. Wilson in his work as well, very curiously seeing his new project come to fruition. She knew it would be ready soon enough.
Drew on the other hand, had not had everything go according to plan lately. Lately, every time they've been training, the Captain seems to make Drew do something separate from the others. Like running laps on his own, doing other workouts, different drills, even training with heavier weapons at the range. Did he do something wrong? For as long as he's been a Ranger, Drew thought the Captain was happy with his performance in the field. Not bad for a grease monkey, eh? So the extra workload for him has been... exhausting to say the least.

Lined up at attention, Captain Scott had all six Rangers suited up in their jackets and most suitable clothing for field work. Standing in their line up, Drew and Olivia had their hands behind their backs and postures straight, feet together and minds focused sharply on Captain Scott's ramblings in the command center.
"Power Rangers. As it has come to your attention, I'm sure, we have lost two cities in a matter of days. Forfield and Saintsville, gone. All communication cut off, assuming no survivors. If any, they've likely been captured and put into work camps," grim reminder of the world outside of their dome of Inezia. "Inezia is now one of fourteen cities on Earth. It is getting to be more of our duty to continue our efforts and fight as we have been. In an effort to bolster your individual resources, it is my honor to assign auxiliary Zords to your Ranger profiles." Olivia hadn't been made aware of that. Nor Drew. Getting Zords assigned to them specifically? Things must be getting bad.
"Jane. You will be in command of the marine unit, Bio Sub. Lucas, you are to be given access to the powerful Bio Drill to break through enemy lines," he aligned special codes into their morphers.
"Commander Taylor, Bio Liner is yours to command. You're fit to pilot a mech solo if need be. Olivia, my daughter, Bio Astro should serve you well in case of emergency. And Tidal, Bio Siren should be just what you need to not only power your Tank, but also to ride in when needed most." He beamed the remaining codes into their morphers. This also implies Delta Strike is their own Megazord now! Sort of, it's all still technically universal.

Clearing his throat, Drew tilted his head. "Sir? What about me?" The Captain nodded at him. "There is something else in mind for you, Drew. Trust that your team piloting these vehicles is the better option."

No way in Hell, the underworld, eternal dress shopping or an endless field of chickens had anybody thought Jane the amazing tomboy would not be having all kinds of fun with what happened to Olivia. Happy as she is to have her back, and she really is, she's also been living for the fun she can have. Sensing awkward moments, playing on them and at times teasing in good fun to spark interesting conversation? Yeah, that is totally up her ally. Scary as having your brain numbed is, the aftermath when everything works out in the end is a hoot. A real hoot, such a hoot that owls will forever go 'hooooooo...t'? Calvin on the other hand just slipped back into routine. He did note Drew getting weird treatment as of late. Like getting special exercises and everything. If he needs to bulk up a little surely there's less strenuous or annoying methods? Calvin's the guy to go to if you need help getting more into fighting shape! But with that being said, he's not as hard into working out any more. Staying fit, but he's committed to doing more desk work in his spare time instead of physically training, doing his part to make the military something to be proud of around here! Hero! Side note, in the last training session Jane saw Drew being given different things to do. So naturally, she poked Lucas' tummy and said: "Hey, the Scot over here is more flabby than him." Both kidding, but also... maybe lay off the bagels, Lucas... Yeah, those are his thing with Olivia but... his suit's getting a bit tight. Or is it just her? Frig.

Tanner had not stopped talking about the Corner being attacked. Jane nearly fell asleep at the dinner table the other night at a rehearsal dinner for the wedding. Max got shot and he's already up and at it again! The difference between them is outstanding!

Fun and games not being the point now, it's really scary what's happening. The cities still in domes are dropping like flies. Maybe it's hush to some, but Calvin sees the numbers. Not at all satisfying... with all of the good they do in Inezia, it's hard to believe the world outside is still far from being saved. Like they're just fighting a battle that hasn't even started yet. Time to get more serious, maybe launch the Rangers worldwide? Even if its one of them going to a city at a time, the world needs their help! Calvin cordially stood fully at attention with everybody else. Eyes on the Captain and feet so tight together they would't let a pin slip through, they focused, dressed to their best and looking sharp!
Forfield and Saintsville.... no. "Pretty sure I have an aunt in Saintsville", Jane thought aloud in a whisper... and Calvin had friends in both of those cities! Damn the Armada!

Both of them perked up when Captain Scott said he would giving them all direct and unique access to new Zords. Same Zords they've had, but hey, this is like bonus loot! Codes going into their morphers, Jane nodded hearing she had Sub. "Cool, I'll totally not fly into water or get the boat stuck in the air. As my dad always said, there's more boats up there than jets down there!" Is that how the saying goes? Who cares, she's got a submarine! "Thanks, Cap!"
Saluting, Calvin gratefully accepted Bio Liner as his own. "Thank you, sir." Calvin had his own solo MegaZord, too... so did Olivia! Go them, that's probably because they're military officers! Or wishful thinking.
They turned their heads when Drew had been made odd man out. Something else in mind? "If he gets a pay raise I'm offering a trade!" Jane exclaimed.

Lucas was glad to have Olivia back to normal. Sure, things were a little awkward at times... but they're both kinda awkward anyway, so it didn't matter all that much. As he had stated repeatedly, he in no way blamed Olivia for what happened. That's why he punched the tuba, after all! The Armada's foul trickery had nearly cost them a Ranger. If Olivia didn't get her mind back when she did, who would ahve taken on the Pink Ranger powers? Eveline? No way in hell she'd want to run around in pink. Orange, maybe. Or really just anything but pink. Now that everything was back to normal, or as normal as things get in a city that's under regular attack of aliens and robots and defended by people in spandex, it was back to his thesis for him! Research, more research, long days and short nights... and lots of caffeine. He's almost there, after weeks of slaving away.

For Tidal things were slightly more awkward. He too was relieved to see Olivia was back to normal, but seeing as how they both lived in HQ it was impossible to not run into one another on the moments they didn't have to train. No, he'd just stick in his room as much as possible, getting caught up in the books he bought recently. He could see why Olivia liked that Blake Moore author so much. Captivating stories they were. Oh, and of course he also always had Sally to distract him. But now it was back to training. And there was a tension in the air. Someone was about to deliver some bad news.

More than a little frightening it is to learn that another two cities had fallen in only days time. That didn't bode well for humanity. Forfield and Saintsville, both now nothing more than a memory. They were names Lucas had learned in school, but he personally knew nobody in either of those cities. The same applied to Tidal. But that by far meant they didn't fall silent, staring down at the floor. Lucas cursed under his breath. The five of them couldn't defend the entire world on their own, could they? They couldn't be everywhere at once, and how could they know where the Armada would strike next? They did everything they could and still it wasn't enough. Two more cities gone, only fourteen left. Was this the end of humanity, then? So close to extinction, so close to just being another bit of territory for the Armada... They couldn't give up. Not now, not ever. It was the six of them who were a beacon of hope to humanity. Both stood at attention as the Captain delivered this news.
"There must be something we can do, isn't there?" Tidal wondered out loud. "A way to protect more of the world than just Inezia and the direct area? I mean... what about the cities outside of this continent?" What if they had all been wiped out already? Now that's a scary thought.

So as to prepare them better for the upcoming big battles they were all being assigned auxiliary zords? That's neat! bad that it's necessary, but still really neat. Drill being the addition for Lucas, and Siren for Tidal. Both saluted the Captain as the new codes were transferred to their morphers. "With this, we'll stand a better chance against the Armada," Lucas muttered. They always had those zords, sure, but now they could definitely make better use of them all. Tidal silently glanced at Drew. Once again something different was in store for him. What's with that, anyway? First all the different training, and now he's the only one not to get an extra Zord? Something's up here...

Left to pilot the robot-turning Astro by herself at a whim, Olivia understandably felt a little uneasy. Due to her and Calvin's higher level training. they by chance got the higher-up Zords. Jane and Lucas got what amounts to more energized support Zords, and Tidal a powerful one to boost his own Megazord. Olivia being the primary pilot to Astro both excited and intimidated her. Feelings like being in charge of younger siblings for the first time set in. Anxiety, familiarity and just a sliver of unrecognized 'shit' syndrome. Olivia had no siblings to be born however so she is not one to compare. Literally everybody else here could likely get a grasp of that feeling some way some how. She, the only only child distanced herself from her own thoughts.
Left to her wits end after re-immersing in the fall of two cities she accepted Astro as her own and nodded her head at her father.
"Hmm. Rest assured, Drew's separate task involves no payment change, " Captain Scott sated Jane's curiosity. Or her disappointment if she were serious. "I know, Tidal, I wish we could expand our team to go above beyond the ground we already cover. It is unsettling this is all we can do for the moment." He would not even mention the fact that yet another city is falling under attack as they speak. But it's s controlled so there is but a small light at the end of hope's tunnel. Taking it with a grain of salt is the best that Scott can tell himself. PTSD or whatever it is referred to as for the stress occurring now inches from his mind every day. War has a funny way of brinking insanity in even the strongest.

Dr. Wilson entered with the case from his lab. Greeting the scientist into their company the Captain stepped aside for the next part of this presentation. Wilson sat the case down and flipped it open, but the content of said case was only seen by him, it would be turned around shortly. "Captain Scott authorized the code transfers?" he asked. Olivia affirmed an answer with a simple nod. "Good. Now we can begin."
Clearing his old throat, Wilson pulled up a visual of Zords, Squadron mode, weapons, etc. Powerpoint presentation for Power Rangers, anyone? "Proven time and time again the Armada is not slowing down. To rectify my mistake of alerting them to Earth, I have formulated a final solution. Highly experimental such as a lot of other things we work with. Whereas the rest of you have been bolstered with secondary Zord roles, I have a special project for your leader." Wilson looked at Drew and invited him forward. Turning the case, he revealed a metallic red visor-looking piece clearly meant to attach onto a morpher. "This, Rangers, is the Battlizer," Dr. Wilson then revealed a 3D rendition on screen of what it was. "Super charged, next level formation of Squadron Mode. Advanced battle armor equipped with new weaponry and power, it is the most advanced form of wearable weaponry on the planet. And as of now, its programming only responds to Red Ranger power."
Drew's blue eyes opened faster than the Flash on speed. That was a redundant thought. "That.. that's for me?" he pointed at himself. Dr. Wilson nodded. "Yes. It needs testing, but this is for you. With it, you should unlock what I have called Bio Commander Mode." Just why and how is Drew, a mechanic in a red costume, the one capable of being the man to wield possibly the most powerful armor on Earth???

Olivia stared in fascination. "Incredible. I have seen blueprints before but I had never dreamed this would be attainable!" It is magnificent!
---
"Zenine is quite a fertile breeding ground for spectacular life. Plants such as this Zeninian specimen are a marvel only handfuls of beings wish to see in their life. Wickedly concocting a plan to put the rooted plant from incubator to planet side, she needed a distraction to keep unwanted pests such as the Power Rangers from ever getting near it. Outfitting Rexian forces with state of the art weaponry came not without a mind to maintain such weapons. Actera is expected to not only monitor the status of this ready plant but also keep robotic weapons in tact while Volmour organized and built said robotics. What other use are these two servants Urthemial cooked up to fill his void for Splica after their duel?
"Generals, I expect our Zeninian delight is ready for planting. We must do it on fertile ground, however the first fertile spot is near Inezia, so the Rangers will likely be attracted to our activity. We need no one standing in out way. Actera, assist me and making sure the plant takes root in proper soil. Volmour, launch the assault with as large a force of Dytrons and Deathtrons as you can muster. Nothing shall stand in our way!" Splica demanded and practically set things into motion already.
---
Unaware to an alien garden about to start, emergency sirens blared just after Wilson's reveal of new tools against the Armada. Blaring as loud as ever, sirens indicated something was wrong. Ears covered, Drew watched the Captain and Wilson come together. Coming to work in the morning always reminded them to keep ear plugs on hand at all times. "Erratic attack launched outside the dome? I'm picking up a massive force of Rexian troops just outside of the Inezian structure," Dr. Wilson informed the others. Without question, Drew looked at the others and signaled for them to come with him. One problem.

"Rangers, I'll have the gates opened for you. Go out there and deal with whatever they're planning. Minus you, Drew. I am sorry but we must begin testing of the Battlizer immediately. The others can handle this." Captain Scott ordered. Looking defeated, Drew eyed the others and wearily replied with a 'sir yes sir.'
Olivia sympathetically gazed onto Drew but knew that she had a job to do. Severing the ties of work and personal relationships is a tricky feature she's become accustomed to. "We'll take the Bio Cruisers and Cycles. Do not worry Drew, we'll deal with this," Olivia reassured and sped off to the garage. Speeding off in low heels, however, is a but of an ordeal.

Heavy thoughts are not uncommon but they are definitely not welcoming. Outstretching to other places is ideal but like how would they do that with only six of them? Soldiers are great, nobody's downing on their boys/girls of service but a Ranger makes for like one hundred soldiers. Exaggeration? You be the judge. Jane liked having a second option, made it more fun for her to beat the sense out of those jerks in space. Well... Submarines and jets may not be the ideal vehicles for fighting something in space. Now she's a little sad, actually. Oh well, she's getting a kick out of this! Get it? Kick? Sub makes legs... and then there's the boots...kicking--she'll stop this mental ramble now and get on with the day.
Olivia's thoughts lined up with Calvin's to a tee. Now in charge of not only another vehicle but an entire robot. Endearing, scary, exciting all at the same time. He'd learned to pilot a few things in basic training but not in a million years did he think he would be piloting a helicopter such as his own. Now add on a train to that party? Woot woot. Choo choo, to be a little more accurate on scale of a toddler. Still, Calvin was honored to have this chance. Max would no doubt try to sneak in a free ride on Liner now. He'd always wanted to ride in a Zord, now he just might get a chance if Calvin breaks regulation! Imagine that--a Latino man just hanging out the window of the giant purple train like a dog out a car window, slobbering and howling in the day light.
Actually that visual easily appeals to a couple of other people... one of them being in this room.

"Ayeeee old man with dark secrets and a slightly adorable scruff goin' on," Jane greeted Dr. Wilson in her own way. Calvin shot her a questionable glance, but she threw it off because that's just how she is. Lately the girl has lost her rowdy tomboy edge, she has to reclaim that sense of pride about her!
About time someone explained what's going on. Why Drew didn't get access to a 'new' Zord and why he's undergone different stuff all together. He isn't getting paid more, so Jane was honestly a little bored now. Kidding! The visual aid caught her eye. So many big guns, so many shiny things they use. Calvin tilted his head to the side, trying to read more into it than was being told. Final solution? What, does the good doctor have an uber weapon that could take out a ship from the ground? Dangerous as it sounds it wouldn't be useless. A small red thing in the case demanded attention. Wonder who that's for. *Looks at Drew*

The Battlizer? By what they're being shown, it's a super armor with weapons and energy beyond anything they had ever seen. Amazing! "Wow... it's like looking at an actual super soldier program," Jane commented, staring at the model on screen. Drew gets to use that?! "Does it come in blue?!" Jane had to ask because duh! She wants one of those!
"Fascinating. Look at those readings, it's unlike anything I've looked at before. Is it even safe?" Calvin asked right before hearing it needs a test run. That thing has to be tested before going on a body. Otherwise they'd get a nice heaping of... Drew soup?
---
This plant taking root on board the ship is extraordinary. Growing fast, easy to spread, and just what the Armada needs to make a nice home on Earthen soil in the landing to come. Once they finally land, Volmour would see about moving into a factory where people get put to work in camp form. Overseeing construction of mass amounts of bots would be fitting for him, as well as having a larger space to work with in the context of building and designing new robots. Dytrons always need improvement, as do Death and Doomtrons. Plenty of them to go around, as well. Mobilizing the things remotely from the surface of the planet would be a mega time saver, too.
"I have just the squad in mind, my lady. Dispatching as many as 50 Dytrons and half that of Deathtrons per your request," Volmour gladly activated new units and sent them to the wasteland outside Inezia. A shame the nearest spot to plant the Zeninian seed is so close to the city inhabited by Rangers. Distractions are good to have. Might even get a few broken Rangers out of it.
---
Alert, bad guys on Earth, alert!

Jumping at that damned unnecessarily loud siren, Jane and Calvin skipped a heart attack to find a shit ton of Dytrons and other robots were landing on the ground. But in the wasteland? What are they doing out there? Hosting some kind of Rexian picnic, no doubt. Motor oil and the blood of children from alien planets for everyone! But they didn't see any baskets or severed limbs so the picnic may not be a no go. Shame, someone could go for crashing a picnic.
Drew not going with them isn't a big deal. Calvin knew they would all be okay. "Relax. We can kick tin can as well as the next guy, don't sweat it," Jane said and patted Drew on the arm firmly. Hey, extra bicep building? The training is working out for him at least. Saluting and leaving on Captain Scott's orders they headed to their vehicles. "Race anyone?" Jane asked. "Last one there's a moldy bagel!"

Tidal nodded solemnly. It really was a shame they couldn't do anything other than what they were doing as of now. The Rangers couldn't leave Inezia undefended, and as of now it was impossible to spread the Ranger program to other cities, it appeared. Imagine if instead of an army, the world had... well... still an army, but full of Power Rangers instead of soldiers! The Armada would've left the planet alone years ago! Lucas shared similar thoughts over at his end. A world free from the Armada... where the domes were never needed. Boy, didn't that sound like a nice fantasy. But that would also mean he might never have come to Inezia and become a Power Ranger. He wouldn't have met the amazing people he knew now. And that would be such a shame... His eyes briefly darted to Olivia before focusing again on the tasks at hand. Or rather... the power point-esque presentation by Doctor Wilson. Speaking of which, Tidal and Lucas looked at Jane as she greeted the old man in such a... unique way.

The Battllizer. An updrage to Squadron Mode. Damn, that looked so epic! Superpowered armor and weaponry that's still in a testing phase. What they got to see on the visuals looked powerful enough to blast a hole through just about anything. Enemy spaceships included. Drew was so lucky he got to test that. Sure, everyone else got a 'new' zord, but he got an entirely new Power to explore. Tidal may be a bit jealous there. Lucas, on the contrary, was glad it was Drew who got to test it first. After all, he was their leader and let's face it: not everyone here should be allowed to test new powers. Cue a look at a certain tomboy who'd be likely to blow up the command center in excitement as she got to control a new weapon. Still, it didn't mean the two other rangers here weren't fascinated by what Dr Wilson showed them here.
"It looks amazing," Lucas said.
"Just what we're going to need to take out the Armada once and for all," Tidal added in.

They could only wonder... once the testing had been done and all tests had proven to be successful, would all of them get a Battlizer of their own? A Squad of Battlized Rangers should remind the Armada that this planet was protected. Had been, and would be until the very end. The Earth might be losing many of its cities, but the people of Earth would never truly surrender. The Earth would never be taken! There were six people in colorful (and one less colorful) outfit to ensure that.
---
Actera had been monitoring and maintaining the plant for a while now, as well as keeping their weapons top notch. This plant... it was truly fascinating. Growing faster than anything she had ever seen before. It would be perfect to create a nice spot for their ships to land. Finally the Armada's top would be able to walk the Earth without being in those horrible dusty Wastelands all the time. Finally walking proper ground again instead of being on a spaceship all the time. Don't get her wrong, Actera was most grateful for her position within the Armada, but occasionally she'd want to walk solid earth rather than metal floorboards. Actera bowed to her empress as she was tasked to come along to the fertile spot and ensure the plant would take root. "It would be my pleasure, milady," she said, carefully taking the plant. Soon, this Zenian plant would cover most of the Earth, if not all of it. So unfortunate they had to go close to the Pesky Rangers. They were bound to interfere with their plan(t)s. Thankfully, with Volmour and his forces, they would have a difficult time.
---
Alarms blaring like sirens -- how redundant -- never ceased to startle most who heard it. Alarms that only meant one thing: Space Invaders. No, not that old classical game. Actual unwanted invaders from outer space looking for trouble. A massive force of troops right outside the dome? "What, they organizing a nice picnic or something?" Tidal said, voicing the thoughts of another out loud. Yum, nice rusty bolts and a cup of dust! Lovely food for robots!

As they all readied to leave and safe the day once again, Drew was told to stay behind. Testing to be done. Glad the Captain agreed they were all very capable enough to take on the forces on their own. "We'll be just fine," Lucas said with a nod to his friend.
"This is just our average Tuesday, isn't it?" Tidal grinned. Really, they were accustomed to fighting robots and aliens by now. Tidal and Lucas saluted the Captain as they headed off to the garage too. Time to Get In Gear and save the Domed City. Or it's lovely outskirts, anyways.

Stumbling into the vicinity of the Zeninian, Splica tapped gently on the exterior of the incubator for the specimen. Roots and leaves may not be a lot to look at for most but this was clearly different. Responding to the taps on the plastic were the small jolts of movement. Jerking around, little weeds wiggled around and around. Trapping mechanisms from the Venus fly-trap have a lot of little trigger hairs so when a fly enters, the plant will close on its prey. Similar-looking things sprout on the Zeninian and almost seemed to yelp up at Splica. "My cute little plant. I can't wait to show you to Earth."
---
He hated this, watching the others go out without him. Voting made him the leader under circumstance. Olivia would make a fine second in command so the team's alright. Needing a leader has never really been a thing for them, however, they've all proven time again that nobody really has to lead them to be alright. They will be okay without someone giving suggestion on what to do. And just because someone wears red it doesn't mean the team needs them all of the time. Felt good, though. "They're right, you know," Captain Scott told him. The leader turned to meet his face. "One battle is all this is. The Rangers are a fine team of people, nothing the Armada can't lose to. Your body needs to undergo testing. Can't just launch you into a fight with the Battlizer and have you com-bust." Mr. Military Man knows what he is talking about. Tests proved really valuable in the past before just sending something out. Minus the times things had no testing at all and by luck worked out the day they were released but let's not focus on that. Looking at the schematics for the Battlizer Drew got to know the stuff in it. Some serious engineering here. Putting it into car terms there's a lot of horsepower. "So how do I use it?"
"Glad you asked. Just attach this visor piece to your morpher and the rest will take care of itself," Dr. Wilson instructed as the alarm died down. Nodding, Drew picked it up and walked to a testing center in the lab with him. Here goes nothing.
---
Inezia's gates opened and let the three cars and two motorcycles floor out in a V shape fashion. Olivia at V's bend drove out where the global positioning system told them to go. "I don't get this. According to the alert it's just a bunch of foot soldiers. What's the Empress planning at here?" Olivia asked over comm while driving in the wasteland with everybody. Such a surprisingly fertile area for a foreign plant to come soon. No commanders or anything to oversee this, just a distraction from a real plan. But the Rangers always respond to emergencies no matter what. This is included in their regimen.
Parking in a hurry bound to deal damage to her brakes on the car Olivia stopped and got out with the others. Invading in an unorganized manner were tons of Dytrons, Deathtrons stacked up to a tee and just numbers alone to make someone nervous. No objective or anything, just blindly operating in a random location. "I don't get it. Something can't be right, expect the unexpected," Olivia reminded everybody before lifting her arm up.

"Bio Morphers Initiate," morph call! Pink energy surrounded her and transported the suit on her body while Olivia pre-rendered her pose for the morph with a hand on her hip. As energy cleared, the robot forces stormed the Rangers without motive, just attacking to attack. But she smelled a fish. Not Marin, he's dead. Responding dutifully, she prepared a defensive stance and ran back for them. Dive bombing with a roll, Olivia ended up in the middle of it all, sweeping her leg to the mix. Why not put her newly assigned role to use? She deftly summoned the Astro Cannon, switching over to magnet mode and pulling a cluster of the fodder over. Now to dump them somewhere bigger than a junkyard.

Full throttle towards the desolate landscape that is the reality of Earth beyond the domes of protection. Spontaneous trip outside of the city is spontaneous. The Armada has ground troops around outside all of the time but the Rangers never get called to handle it, really. Must be some big ulterior motive going on, otherwise they'd be wasting time by just cruising out like the Landshark gang. Ya know because motorcycles on two of the guys in the immediate group. And one is an ex-thug, so there. Calvin zoomed on his cycle on one end of the V as Jane rode behind him. "No idea, but we should stay alert in case any funny business happens," he interjected when Olivia mentioned the odd nature of this assignment. Random postings of soldiers outside the city limits? What is that about?
"Hey, the Captain wants us to crack open some tin cans, we'll crack open the tin cans. We're about to bathe in motor oil!" Cue the grim blood-reference from Jane. She's excited, always gets that way when she gets to fight something. Something that's just second nature to her at this point in her career.
Halting, their tires made indents in the dirt, imprinting their tread in the unknowing soil.

"We always expect unexpected things. Which makes them expected. In which case we should expect the first thing we expected since it is the new unexpected," Jane pondered the beginning of that paradox for all of time to handle. Erratic behavior from the Dytrons brought out the erratic thoughts in her.
"Bio Morpher, Initiate," Jane and Calvin called with the team, hitting the switches to swarm them in blue and green energies, semi saluting and fist curling to meet completion.
Battle royale must be on their minds because the Dytrons and Deathtrons just attacked for the sake of attacking. "If it's a fight they want, I'm happy to say it's game time," Jane spoke before popping her bones in pregame mode for the fight. Booting up a new idea, Jane--see what she did there--she took inspiration from Olivia and brought on her secondary Zord's system to the fight. Jane already tackled a couple of Dytrons down, spawning Sub Boots on her feet. Stomping on the downed bots with them, she seriously flipped in the air and into a Deathtron at full speed. Wicked! "I. Love. Kicking. Things. In. The. Faces!" Jane said between many kicks to the surrounding forces, simple jab kicks or her personal favorites, the roundhouse kicks. Hi-yah!

Bio blaster first, Calvin ran into the sudden assaulting ambush of robots while shooting down grunts rapidly. A punch here, kick there, elbow jab over there, big blast of energy into metal asses here! However a lasso fit the training of a soldier, or a train, is out of the question. Seeing a theme unfold Calvin wielded the Liner Lasso along with his sidearm. He fired multiple quick shots out at the robots while lashing out at them, swinging the lasso around and striking down immediate Dytrons while jerking the head of it into a Deathtron, finishing it off with a good shot to the chest.

Actera watched the Zenian plant with fascination. The plant seemed to... no, it really did respond to the sound. Carnivorous things on the plant seemed eager to take a bite out of the Empress. Bad idea... but some people from Earth, or even better... a Ranger or two... or six... that was a very welcome prospect. "It truly is a magnificent plant," she said. Soon, it would be planted on Earth, providing them with some proper ground to land their forces on. And it came with a natural built-in protection system, too! Very convenient, and nobody would risk getting close with the chance of being eaten alive.
---
Full speed ahead, into the dead lands they go. Well... mostly dead, wandered by robots, aliens, and the poor unlucky fellows who never made it to the city. And the gangs still out there in places. Kind of an odd idea though, that it was the Rangers being send out to deal with the forces attacking the direct area around the city. They're always there, and usually the military handles them. Okay, in a way the Rangers were military too... And maybe it was this particular attack, more erratic and larger than usual that made the Captain decide they had to check it out. Might as well be a distraction for something bigger going on. Lucas wondered if they'd run into any soldiers out here. For all they knew Max, Evie, and their troops were somewhere nearby battling the troops too. Somewhat similar as that day they found Evie and her troops in the Wastelands. Geez, that seemed like forever ago. While in reality... how long had it been? Weeks? A few months?

"Who knows what's going on out here? This many forces at once seems a bit exessive, don't you agree?" Lucas replied. "And I doubt they're simply trying to breach the walls from the outside again." They definitely tried that before. At least once. If it hadn't worked before, why try again now? There had to be an ulterior motive here.
"Let's just keep our eyes peeled and be ready for anything," Tidal added in. Screeching to a stop, Lucas' car and Tidal's bike stopped, leaving behind a cloud of dust and imprints in the soil.
"That's..... a lot of robots," Lucas stated, quickly attempting to count the amount of forces they'd run into. If it was more than he could count and estimate in a single glance, it was safe to assume it was a lot.
"Well, more forces to take down now leaves them with less material for later attacks," Tidal said, hoping he was right. Probably not. Enemies always seemed to have an endless supply of foot soldiers, somehow. Pretty impressive, considering the lack of resources.
"Bio Morpher, Initiate!" both called, already striking their poses as the energies swirled around them. Battle ready and relaxed, the yellow and shadow ranger respectively stood ready.
No objective, no ulterior motive to be directly detected. The Dytrons and Deathtrons just wanted to fight. And these rangers were more than willing to deliver.

Taking inspiration from the others around him, Lucas summoned his hammer and the drill attachment. Time for one hell of a game of 'whack-a-mole'. Never mind the fact there were no holes to hide in and these were robots instead of moles. And basically every strike was a direct hit. And Tidal... he couldn't possibly stay behind, could he? He summoned the siren daggers. While he loved the Crescent Blade and his glaive very much, two daggers were definitely nice to work with too! Two daggers worked more swiftly than a large blade, and in closer range than a death-frisbee. He rapidly slashed around with his daggers, cutting down the Dytrons that came too close.
Meanwhile Lucas' drill got "stuck" in a Deathtron. Perfectly according to plan. Now the Deathtron had a nice hole in it!

Coming and going are allies of the Armada. The ship sees more traffic both ways aboard it than most highways on Earth now. Bad example seeing as most highways aren't in use anymore, other than people in the wasteland taking shelter on them or making odd settlements. So many come through that the generals may pay it no mind. A hooded courier of sorts awaited Splica in her throne room where she would soon enter. The courier was average height, judging by the build was a male, and in decent physical form. "From the latest shipment, are you? Good. Your assignment is to take the Zeninian to Earth and plant it in the soil. Nobody will stand in your way," she told him. The courier nodded, went to get the specimen in its container, and had himself transported down. The way Splica looked at the courier in secret from the generals was curious. Curious and very very pleased.
---
Firing from its arm a Deathtron assaulted Olivia from the rear as she magnetically pulled its comrades in. Hearing shots being fired she ducked down to allow shot to hit the robots instead of her, taking a very militaristic approach to things by combat rolling forward and turning around. Switching to blaster mode she fired a well aimed shot for the Deathtron and blew it to pieces. Dytrons tried avenging it by attacking her from the front, but Olivia's too fast for them. She brushed them off using the Astro Cannon as a melee weapon and kicked the sides of the Dytrons repeatedly until they fell by force or by domino effect.
As the battle continued on she just waited for a commander to show up. But nothing. What's happening here?
Wait...
"You guys, I'm picking up some kind of energy reading. We should clear these guys out and investigate," Olivia told her team as she fired another blast into the scrap metal soldiers.
---
"Olivia I would advise against that. Please let us monitor the signal before you all head for its location," the Captain reminded her.
"Father, we're already out here. We will take precautions, just have to--" Olivia stopped mid sentence to deal with another attacker by elbowing it in the chest and denting its plating.

Shaking his head, the Captain sighed and looked away. So brash and eager to respond. He's both proud and worried. Much like he was in his younger days, Olivia has signs of spunk and eagerness when she isn't analytical and cautious. Ambition can sometimes lead to greatness or trouble. Such is what it takes to be a leader or something close to one. Ah, speaking of leaders he better go check on how Drew's Battlizer tests are going in the lab.
In said lab, Dr. Wilson and crew hooked Drew and his morpher up to some equipment to monitor how he'd be reacting to everything. "Whenever you're ready," Wilson informed him. The ranger nodded.
"Okay, then. Here goes nothing." Drew slapped the red visor onto his morpher's side. "Battlizer, Initiate," he vocally input. immediately, red electricity surged over his body, gritting his teeth and tightening his muscles. Didn't look like it was morphing him...but hurting him. In response Drew found himself ragdolling across the lab and onto a table. Dr. Wilson and his team rushed over to him. But instead of him dead, he was looking up at the ceiling...his hair a bit frizzed. "What pretty colors... Oh look, a rainbow," Drew dazed slightly, pointing up at certainly anything but a rainbow.
"We require more testing, that is for sure."

"Hey Lucas, could you say you totally screwed that Deathtron just now?" Jane punned as she fluently dived under the arms of another, a wild light blue kick sweep knocking a tin can into the air and down into the dirt. Never, not once, in the heap of battle did she try not saying something witty. Anyone try and take her thrown as the pun or bad joke guru gets dragged by the ear! Or kicked like this! Cue her jumping up and spin kicking Dytrons down where they could all have a nice hearty meal of dirt. See she didn't mind there being no commander or anything. She's fine just getting to beat down on the small fry!
Calvin lined up a good one as he wrapped the lasso around on Deathron's ankle. "Have a nice trip," he said, tripping it first by yanking it down. "And see ya next fall!" Calvin piled on, tossing that same unfortunate Deathtron by its ankle on the lasso into a trio of incoming robots. Robo dog pile! Why he started with the one-liners, he doesn't know. Hey, wait a second... One...liners. Liners! Ha! HAHA! Now that is how you tell a joke.

"I don't see why not," Calvin interjected to Olivia. "If it's more Rexians we should give it a look, sir," he then responded to the Captain. Energy signatures in the wasteland are one of two things. The bad guys, or something radioactive having just spewed up something gnarly. His money's one the bad guys. His fist is on them, too, for he continued punching them down one by one. Why are there so many of them?
Jane cartwheeled over in Tidal's direction, sweep kicking a metal face before resting for a second. "Guys it could be a trap. Or, if something did beam down I would say that we're being distracted. Sounds like something evil space aliens would do!" Clever thinking, Jane.

Actera watched from the monitors as the unknown cloaked agent went down to Earth to place the plant in the fertile soil. She would've wished to be there herself, be the one to plant the seed and watch it overgrow the Earth. But alas, the Empress had decided differently. Perhaps for the better. From here behind the monitors she could oversee a much larger area and alert her allies for certain colorful pests coming to interfere with their plans like they always did. Such a marvelous and interesting plant... it would be wonderful to watch it grow and make the Earth more suitable for the Armada to finally land their ships.
---
"Well... you know the drill, don't you?" Lucas replied to Jane's comment. Same story every time, wasn't it? Monsters showing up, Rangers showing up. Butts are kicked, monsters gone, day is saved. Same story every time. And now there was an actual drill involved too. Said drill spun and spun as Lucas smashed the hammer at yet another group of Dytrons. There were so many sparks someone might assume they're practicing for a fireworks show. Well... in a way they were, weren't they? When the big bad of the day would show up, there would be a big boom. Just the kind of fireworks they'd all grown to love. Especially the other half of the Ginger Twins... even if the other half currently wasn't present. Lucas was pretty sure Evie just continuously watched footage of battles in her spare time. With popcorn. Just for the fireworks! She's a little crazy like that.
"Man... I wish I knew a shitty pun that involves daggers... But I guess I'm not that sharp," Tidal commented. Hold on a moment...! That counts as a pun, right?! Nevermind the fact he was going to ahve to face the tomboy fury later on for calling the one-liners and puns shitty. Eh, Jane didn't scare him.

Strangely enough, as the battle went on, there was absolutely no sign of a big bad of the day. By now they surely must have shown up already, right? No way they'd just send a bunch of Dytrons and Deathtrons to attack the outskirts without there being an ulterior motive or supervillain hiding around somewhere.
"Agreed," Lucas said in reply to Olivia and Calvin. "Surely there's more going on here than just some cannon fodder. And as said, we're already here. It'll be much faster than sending out others or heading back to investigate and then go back here."
"I'm with Jane on this one," Tidal said. "But whether it's a trap or distraction, it's better we investigate. Just we should be careful."

Couriers are good for two things. Doing as instructed, and tricking like a pet. In secret, Splica observed a separate specimen of the Zeninian growth on a smaller scale in more of a tube-like casing. "Once he does his job, you, my darling, shall be mine for the taking," she said. So it seems the wicked Empress has another plan on her mind. Ever the deceitful one. Stroking the exterior of the tube's casing, she directed attention to her courier's progress as the hooded masculine figure wandered on the surface of Earth amid a mild dust storm with the Zeninian plant and a shovel.
---
Finishing out the last bit of the Dytrons, Deathtrons, whatever '-tron' suffixed robotic foot soldiers there are at this point, Olivia signaled for everybody to rally up. She'd finished her particular cluster with a nice anti gravity blast that sent them flying right back up to their ship. Or into the void of space to burn up in the atmosphere, who really knows what happens to them when she lets them just float away like balloons? Weapons away, she tracked the anomaly against her father's wishes and pinpointed its location. "Strange. Readings say it's in the exact opposite of our location. Maybe this was a set-up of some kind," she pondered. "Proceed with caution, everyone," she agreed with the scoundrel and the tomboy.
Funny feelings stirred up in her gut. Imminent death may await them. As may just a queer piece of space debris or a random spike in radiation they should definitely stay suited up for to avoid illness. Even with medical science being advanced that is still not a road they want to go down. Take Drew's younger brother for a prime example. Exact opposite location is subjective, but she meant it to be more 'it is so many clicks that way'. If it were the complete opposite direction from them it may as well be in China.

Pursuing the anomaly on foot as it is within reasonable walking distance while the others back in HQ continued testing Drew's new Battlizer (plus cleaning the soot off of him), Olivia led the team further into the wastes. Dirt, dirt, more dirt. Run-down buildings of what used to be the world, roads long-abandoned and remnants of the city that stood here before the domes went up. Sad scenery. What could be over this way so far? Is this stealthier approach even needed? Ahead of the group, the now-unmorphed Pink Ranger scanned ahead while the others got a chance to really look at the area around them in the run-down old city. Demorphing was made safe by the lack of any harmful radiation nearby. No more than usual for the wasteland, anyhow. Cars covered in rusted and overgrowth made for the utmost useful cover in case of emergency. Mystery about the city really crossed her mind. What it used to be like, how society functioned before all of this. Stuff she sort of already knows, but really wondered about now that she's in it. Then she saw it through the hair in her eyes.
"Get down!" Olivia whispered to everybody. But that loud kind of whisper. Ahead of their location stood a hooded male figure, digging a hole in the ground with a canister containing an odd plant next to him. "That is definitely the energy reading. My scanner's going ballistic." Her visors POV scanner definitely went on the fritz for this ditz.

Digging and digging the masculine figure kept shoveling the dirt fro the ground and into a pile to the side. When deep enough, he lifted the alien plant from is holding unit and planted it. Gardening? Plant life other than random vines and such do not grow out here. If this is food of some kind, it will not last here. Is he a settler? A wanderer? But that container looks like... something from the Armada? What is going on here? "Hello, Power Rangers--" the figure announced, back turned to them, he should be unaware of their presence. Shock sent chills through Olivia's skin.

"See?" Jane hollered at the others when wanting to check it out was questioned/not widely supported out loud. "Mr. Brood agrees," she nicknamed Tidal with a good stomp on the last Deathtron unfortunate enough to cross her. Shoes have never been her thing but something about these big shiny boots made out of metal and for kicking things i the alien face just really brings the warm fuzzy feelings to a girls heart. Putting on a princess dress for the first time as a little girl is essentially ho she feels getting to wear such stompy-shoes now. Bitch to practically walk in, however. Walking over in clunky aqua boots, Jane struggled keeping balance. "I'm wearing flat shoes here but I feel like I'm in eight inch heels," she complained as they dematerialized. "Oh. Well that's handy!"
Calvin dragged the lasso behind him like a huge tail. In the dirt was a trail, so his tail left a nice trail like a snail in case they got lost in unlikely events of GPS' not working or simply being dumb and not knowing where the hell they are anymore. All of this attack is pretty random, so the spike whether it is nothing or not could be related. "Splica thinks she can outsmart us, I'll bet. If this is something on their end we should definitely be cautious," Calvin agreed with Olivia. Being right where they aren't is suspicious.

Despite radioactive material lingering around like in the Fallout games, demorphing was the option taken for some reason. If they survived being gang members before--weird out of context huh?--they can survive walking through what was left of a city from before. Buildings seemed taller, cars seemed older, the area felt bigger. Not being confined to a dome must be a helluva way to live. Any knowledge Calvin has of it is slim at best. Jane, on the other hand, has known no other way of life but the dome. Everybody may have generally same idea here since if they did live away from a dome it was being a toddler. The idea is what Jane's lacking. Such marvelous wonder about this place. The ground covered in spouts of grass and dead flowers if you can call them flowers. Nothing really grows out here. Jane kicked an old can of whatever while walking around on the basically ancient sidewalk, peering around a stop sign. Calvin glanced at the kicked can, listening to its metallic clang. Not very loud. Must be something in there. Animal droppings, assorted muck or clumps of dirt. He looked at an old pharmacy to their left. "I'll bet that place was one of the first to be raided when everyone was running for the domes in the invasion." Medicine is the first thing to go in an apocalypse.

Surprised by the outburst, both he and Jane ducked down behind a rusty SUV. "Gardener for a wasteland farmers market maybe?" Jane asked the others while she watched the energy reading man plant something into the soil. Weird location but life finds a way. This is what they came looking for. A man planting something out of Star Wars, great. He did, however, have his back turned without knowing they were there when he called them Rangers and greeted them. No ordinary person plants something here. Not from an...Armada container either. Fuck. Jane cursed to herself, Calvin being bolder than Olivia with the chills on her skin. He had them, too.
"Who... Who are you?" Calvin asked the man standing a ways away from them. It may be silly to ask how he knows who they are given the insignia on his container.

One last swing of a hammer with a drill attacked was enough to completely render the last buckets of bolts around Lucas useless. Same went for Tidal and a last couple of slashes with the daggers. With all the Dytrons and Deathtrons finally being taken care of, the rangers demorphed and made their way onwards to where the readings were coming from. "The opposite direction?" Lucas repeated. "If that doesn't sound like a set-up or a trap I don't know what else does." Seriously, they were being lured all the way out here while something else was going on at the other end of the place? That's not suspicious at all.
"Of course it is," Tidal said. "It's the Armada we're talking about here. Even if it doesn't look like it, there's always some plan or ulterior motive." He could know, being a former brainwashed super soldier on their end. While that was a time long behind him now, he remembered still. Always a plan or a thought. It was never as obvious as it seemed. Or well... rarely. There are always a few exceptions to the rule.

They wandered the Wastelands, through the ruins of what once had to be a bustling city. Full of life, of laughter, of people being happy and carefree. Now there was nothing left that pointed towards any of that. Just empty concrete buildings, broken windows, and overgrown streets. A grim reminder of a civilization that once was, but now seemed long gone. Even if it had only been two decades at most. Tidal had never really known the life in the domes until the day he joined the Rangers. Yet he had never experienced the relatively safe life of the cities too. Outside domes, underneath a blue sky. He was still a toddler when the domes went up, when his family found themselves unable to find said safety and had to live their live in the ruins of what once had been a safe place. He knew the ruins better than the domes, and if need be he'd likely be able to find the best places to find shelter out here. Lucas, on the other hand, was more similar to Jane here. He was born in one of the cities destined to have a dome pulled overhead. He recalled nothing of the time before the domes, but he did remember the outside. An artificial outside underneath the domes, playing in the backyard and the woods at the edge of the dome. So while all he had known in his childhood was the domes, it never felt like confined city life. Perks of living in the outskirts.

The two guys glanced at the pharmacy Calvin pointed out and nodded solemnly. "Either that, or the place over there," Tidal nodded towards what seemed to have been a supermarket. "Food is scarce, and while you might be able to go for a while without medication if you've got nothing serious... the same can't be said for food." Lucas glanced at the former Wasteland thug. If anyone knew how harsh the life out here could be, it was him. Hadn't he mentioned something like that before? People killing each other over food and whatever little resources they might possess?

Both guys quickly ducked as Olivia told them to do so. They peeked up, watching the hooded figure digging a hole in the ground. Beside him was a container with... something in there. "So... strange radioactive plants?" Lucas said quietly. Something was definitely odd enough to make the scanner go crazy. Weird energy readings in suspicious places? That's never good news. Last time it resulted in a corrupted baby alien chicken eating people. Now that's strange taken out of context. Even in context it was weird. And mildly frightening. At least the figure had their back turned to the rangers, so there was no way he knew that.... Nevermind. The figure just addressed them. "What the crap?" Tidal said out loud, taken aback by surprise. Lucas, too, shuddered. Another thing to add to the list of ominous things they'd faced so far.

"Ignoramuses, all of you," the courier addressed them once again. Shovel firmly driven into the soil, the Zeninian plant was a success and would soon begin its growth. A vile of a water-growth serum compound had been withdrawn from the stranger's pocket, pouring it carefully over the newly placed plant. "Sticking your noses to places not of your concern and fighting a hopeless fight against an entire galaxy's worth of ships and troops just waiting to march on this soil and crush your skulls beneath their heels." The hooded couriers voice echoed masculinity and dread. Mechanical filtering suggested that under the hood shrouding his face he wore some kind of re-breather-like mask. Either he can't breath the air as easily or he's on a form of life support. Slowly but steadily he turned around to reveal himself. Under the hood and cloak, with the few spots showing, revealed him to be human. Human enough, rather, like Actera in a way. Not from Earth, but looks the part. No telling if this man is from Earth or elsewhere, if he's a rebel Earthling or a drifter working with the Armada.
His attire consisted of a dark cloak and hood, equally dark hair poking out of the hood, leather garments along his body accompanied by metallic guards and a holster on his side containing a pistol.
Lowering his hood he wore a set of goggles over his eyes. Likely for scanning purposes. But there is no telling what this guy looks like at all. Definitely not someone they know.

"What do you want?" Olivia beckoned over to him from behind cover.
His goggles glimmered. "Your death," he answered before stepping to the side and.... vanishing. He vanished in thin air. No beaming up, no jumping, just fading away. Olivia tensed up as anybody would. Lingering behind where he was remained a faint digital trail. So he did not vanish, to her knowledge, he just---! A gun's barrel stuck to Olivia's back, her arms going up on reflex. "Boo," whispered the sudden appearance of the courier. Forcing Olivia up and back to get everyone's attention after somehow teleporting over to them he said not a word. "Didn't plan on you all coming here. But you'd better brought some weed killer for Splica's first settlement on Earth," he warned them in a villainous manner. The courier pistol-whipped Olivia in the back, forcing her forward as he sprawled into action against the others. Without any time to respond, really, he flipped over her as she groaned in back pain, mid air extending his leg and arm out in different direction. His fist contacted Tidal's sternum and his foot into Calvin's head. Landing, he spiraled his cloak around him while quick-shooting Lucas in the arm and Jane in the leg. Now his shots only grazed them, so their injuries wouldn't be severe, but boy a laser blast to the skin hurts like a bitch!

Waving them off, the courier teleported away yet again. This time for good. Olivia coughed up her lung, or so she felt, barely able to recognize what had just happened. Dubiety swept over her. "Is..is everybody alright?" she asked, mentally hung up on weed killer. How is that relevant?
Her peripheral vision answered that. Over where he once stood with the shovel, vines and massive leaves exploded from the ground. Alien, definitely. Alien foliage. A plant began climbing from where it had been planted. Roots? More like feet, almost. Massive feet. A body of vines, roots, leaves, and a head resembling a Venus Fly Trap plant sprouted. The plant roared. "That is not good." Olivia stated. Thank you, Captain Obvious.

Ignor...Igna.... "What about Iggy Azalea?" Jane thought and wondered vocally. She didn't hear him right but she swore he called them Iggy Azalea. What does she have to do with any of this? She has not been relevant at all up to this point! Hearing aids should be the one thing HQ gives out to people it sends on missions. Hearing things is a bigger part of the job than people credit it for. Think of every situation that could have been handled better if only hearing wasn't impaired in some way. Giving the eighteen year old an aid like that didn't cross anyone's mind.
"No Jane. Ignoramuses. He said we were dumb," Calvin worded it better for her to understand. If not for the total threat lurking across from them he would have chuckled it off. But his experience deemed this a no-chuckle moment. Both sets of eyes fixated on the stranger and inspected him. Steampunk enthusiast or mad scientist a spaceman complex? Botany a common thing out here? Has to be if people want to survive. But this is not right.

"Hey, pal, you're like the billionth person who wants us dead in this galaxy 'kay? Can't you say something a bit more unique?" Jane asked the man, seriously not digging his lack of creativity. An entire fleet of people and robots want them dead. What's new about this is that it's this douche saying it.
Straitening up like yard sticks in snow, Calvin and Jane backed away as he stepped into a transportation into nowhere. Alright that's a neat trick. Outfitting people with fancy gear like this is a new move on the Empress' part. She's been the kind of leader to just give the top people something cool and then the fodder gets whatever's handy or meaningful to the current scheme. Third general, maybe. Field commander in human form? Unheard of but more uncanny things have happened before. Uncanny like him APPEARING BEHIND OLIVIA WITH HIS GUN OUT. Immediately snapping to it Jane and Calvin stood ready. "Let her go, dickweed!" Jane demanded of him. Ever the charmer! Weed killer? What is he talking about? Before any answers could be gotten from him he just whipped Olivia in an instance and then Calvin felt his boot get imprinted on his face. Dirt left a faint print. Ouch! Feeling his head spin, he fell down to his back and let his brain jiggle in the skull.
Jane moved one step, just one step until she felt a laser strike her leg. She let out a bitchin' scream. Grasping the new wound she knelt down and cursed inaudibly, gritting her teeth and doing the 'lemme at him' face. Pain riddled her leg and anger nearly ground her front teeth.

"Think he chipped my tooth but I'm fine," Calvin spat along with a little bit of blood. Whoever this guy was he sure could kick. So fast. Barely detectable. Brute force is the least of their worries, though, seeing Lucas and Jane both having gotten shot in their civilian forms. "We should bandage them up and head back to--..." Calving began when the explosive growth of the plant startled him. Weed killer makes a lot of sense now. "I think we're gonna need a big bottle of killer."
"And a god damn blow torch..." Jane muttered under the grit. Where the Hell is Drew with that fancy new battleizer when ya need him?

"You know.... everyone coming down so far has called our mission hopeless and claimed we're going to die. And guess what? We're still around," Lucas said. Seriously, the whole "you are doomed and everyone is going to die MuHAHAHHAAHHAAHAHA" was getting pretty old. Do the villains have a standard monologue they're forced to do every single time or something? One would almost start to think so. They all knew, since the very beginning, that there was a fleet worth of enemies outside their atmosphere. Had it scared them? ...Yes, most definitely, at the very least in his case. But had it ever stopped them from fighting? Not in a million years. This one had a way of putting it, though. Skulls being crushed... that's something they haven't heard yet. Tidal nodded, mostly unimpressed with the threats. Nothing new here. "Who's Izzy Asia?" he asked to nobody in particular. Someone Jane knew in one way or another? What kind of name was that anyway? He shrugged it off, looking at the courier as he turned around.

Most shocking about this guy was how... human he looked. Someone from Earth who had joined forces with the Armada out of fear or necessity? Another alien that looked human, much like their favorite other alien scientist? The goggles were a resemblance, that's for sure. And the pistol too, in a way. Tidal and Lucas tensed up as the courier just faded into nothingness. well... there was a trail, but no sign of any--... Suddenly he appeared right behing Olivia, slapping her with the pistol. "Liv!" Lucas called, trying to get to her first before thinking about whatever the thing with the weed killer could be about. Things went fast then. Tidal was knocked back in the dirt, gasping for air as the kick in his chest had knocked all the wind out of him. And the dirt here wasn't exactly a soft landing either. Lucas clenched his fists and raised his arms, just about ready to punch this newcomer straight int he breathing mask! But a sudden, searing pain stopped him from doing so. He yelped, the pain causing him to sink to his knees and a whole stream of colorful Gaelic words pouring out. He grasped his arm where the laser had grazed it. It felt wet... and painfully burnt. What did you expect when a laser hits you? Instant cauterizing, but pretty damn painful!

Tidal coughed on the ground, slowly catching his breath. "I'm going to feel this in the morning, but I've had worse." He pushed himself back up, eyeing the others. Did that fucker just shoot Lucas and Jane with a laser? That was painful enough while still in their protective suits. So without that... Yikes. And of course there wasn't a second more of response time. A giant plant just burst out of the ground... A giant, monstrous alien plant that looked just about ready to devour a complete city if given the chance. "Now the weed killer makes sense," Lucas said.
"Blow torch? More like the exhaust pipe of a space ship!" Tidal commented. Seriously, those things had lot of fire coming out of it. Surely that was more useful and would scorch the entire plant at once!

Continuously growing at a far-above-average rate the Zeninian plant roared like a mighty dragon and flailed its appendages like a rabid octopus. Not that such a creature has ever been seen to date. Unless Jane's holding back a video game boss or Olivia's holding back some...classified files. Just gonna sweep those under the rug and move on with this dangerous situation. Foliage came to life before their eyes as the plant rampaged and spread like wild fire.
"Mayday mayday! HQ, Captain, do you read me?!" Olivia reported in to her father via morpher while getting back on her feet.
Testing had since resumed and neared completion after Drew recovered. So close to finishing it! Nevertheless, while supervising, the Captain picked up. "Scott, here."
"Father, we have an unidentified form of plant life placed my an unknown Rexian associate. Extremely dangerous and growing at highly accelerated speed. I'm sending a visual to you now," Olivia patched back in and did as she said. A blurry but visible shot of the plant appeared back in HQ. "It's getting bigger and bigger!" Bad thing about the wasteland? No Zords to fight it with. Astro got out of the dome once but it was far too dangerous to repeat at risk of toxicity readings increasing in the city from air exposure.

"My God... look at that thing," Drew commented from the other side of the lab. "It's massive!" Dr. Wilson's eyes lit up like a Christmas tree on fire.
"Olivia, you five need to evacuate immediately. What's your status?" Captain Scott patched back in. Sounds of struggles were all he could here. Olivia and the others were looking bad.
"Lucas and Jane are wounded. The assailant shot them and struck us all hard. We need back-up! We need--!" Olivia's transmission cut off and sent the Captain into panic. The plant was growing so fast. So fast that it sprouted more vines and grass! GRASS! In the wasteland? Should be impossible. Maybe there's a miracle to this abomination. What cut her off, however, was a vine wrapping itself around her arm and forcibly shutting her morpher's communications off. Zeninian monster plant is scary. Vines ensnared Olivia completely before she could react, holding her in place. Another vine sneaked up to Calvin in the grass and held his legs down as overgrowth covered him. The plant is alive beyond comprehension. Splica wants this for a settlement? It's a monster! Must be to clear out space and make room, meaning she may plan to kill it herself. Why do such a thing? Or it's so obedient to her after conditioning that it will make Earth grow for her and only her by killing what's left on it?
The plant then trapped Tidal in a fly trap-like closer, going above and beyond to then grab a hold of Lucas and Jane and hoist them high in the air near its...head? It roared and continued spreading in the city ruins. "Oh God! It'll spread all the way to the dome!" She shouted, a vine covering her mouth. Tasted horrible.

"Captain, I have to go now. It's almost ready anyway, why not finishing testing there?" Drew stated and protested. Adamant about helping his friends he grabbed the Battlizer from the computer as if he were going already. "Wait," the Captain intervened and handed it to Wilson.
"Testing has not completed yet, it could kill you." Dr. Wilson told him. Drew scoffed.
"Well then I guess I'm gonna die to save them. It's one life or five."
He has a point. Wait and let this...thing cause damage or go now and see what happens. Wilson curiously ran a scan on Olivia's image. "Looks familiar enough... Maybe by looking at it I can tell it's Zeninian. From a far off planet in another cluster. I don't know much but it's a form of sentient we barely understand here..."
"Sentient, not sentient, if you have a sharp enough sword and big gun you can kill it." Drew stated. He sounds like Jane. They're about to go again anyway in testing. Field testing is risky but it's been done before. "I. Am. Going." Drew persisted. As team leader he did had a say in the matter.
Looking at one another, the mentor men sighed and collectively whispered. Concluding they looked at him. "Alright. You will have to enter Squadron Mode to use it, it's all we haven't tried yet. Just be careful." Wilson told him.
Saluting, Drew sped off to his bike and out of the city. Hold on, guys. He's coming!

"Plants do not fucking roar!" Jane blurted the moment Olivia contacted HQ. What is a layer of background noise if not for a tomboy screaming something profane. This is definitely NOT something out of any game she's ever played. Jane didn't feel a need to check inventory for weapons if that's what you're asking. How snooty of that guy a minute ago saying they need weed killer. If he was here right now, Jane would rip the hand from a Megazord and punch him with it square in his leg-shooting jaw. Fucker.
Bogies like this never come across Calvin's mind. In a world where possibility is subjective it should cross his mind but it doesn't. Riddled with enough borderline PTSD from the wasteland missions he had been on before he certainly thought he was hallucinating from toxic stuff when grass came out with the plant monster thing. "Should we kill this thing or try and tame it for study?" Calvin wondered to himself. Splica either blessed or cursed Earth with this thing. Apparently it's for her settlement on Earth--that is ANOTHER HORROR FOR ANOTHER DAY AND THEY NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT but if this thing can grow anywhere they should see if it can be copied. Gardens out in the wastes could save a lot of lives out here if wanderers won't come to the cities. Olivia going quiet alarmed him but Calvin felt the grasp of the plant at his feet. He struggled to move, even taking out his blaster only for his arm to get grabbed too. Calvin felt frozen in place by this freak of nature. Where's a massive herbivore when you need one?

"Guys! Hang on, I'll see if I can--!" Jane screamed at her friends being one by one immobilized by the overgrowth. Going to morph she instead got stopped by the plant. "Oh no no no, I REFUSE to be a damsel in distress!" Jane shouted. You'd think she is more upset about being shot and now held up in the air next to an alien plantface than being a damsel. Struggling, Jane punched and tried wiggling free as she and Lucas became flies in the plants web.
Olivia is right. At the rate it's growing it'll reach Inezia in no time.
