Set on an alternate earth in the year 2022. This alternate earth has never developed the pokemon, digimon, or any other pocket monster trope form of entertainment. Amidst the growing tensions in the world hundreds of portals have opened up raining down hundreds of strange crystal pendants. These pendants sought out certain individuals all over the world and with their mysterious power bridged a bond across dimensions and used that bond to pull Pokemon into this world. All at once chaos erupted around the globe. Suddenly people were using these creatures for amazing things, it was inevitable that the retaliation would come.
World governments came together to try and round up or neutralize as many as they could before their worst fears were realized, and those fears were eventually realized. Pokemon trainers started to team up, groups began to form, and the government quickly began to lose control. Worse all their attempts to scrub the data and videos of these creatures from the internet have been thwarted by some kind of hacker organization. Things have begun to spiral out of hand as a new eco terrorism group called rebirth has started and has begun making attacks across the world.
However another factor has come into play, a group calling itself The League, has begun to murmur on the web, a few of their members have even been seen facing off with members of rebirth and trying to twart their operations, and in response the governments of the world have started their own group of trainers called the Agency. Regardless of how things play out it seems these Pokémon and their trainers will inevitably change the world.

Trainer talismans
A crystal made of strange inter dimensional energy. Each one has a crude depiction of the pokemon a trainer is bonded with. They pulled the pokemon across dimensions and serve as a Check all for a pokemons needs. It serves as a pokeball, a pokemon center, an evolution stone, a tm/hm machine, and even some items. Luckily this stone is bonded to the trainer and will always respawn around their neck if removed, if they are able to be destroyed we have yet to find out how. Even nuclear weapons and the might of pokemon seem insufficient to so much as scratch a Trainer talisman.

The Agency- A collection if intelligence agencies from around the globe working to capture and weaponize all trainers and their pokemon.
Rebirth- An eco-terrorist organization formed by a powerful trainer. They attack infrastructure around the world and kidnap trainers and their pokemon to indoctrinate them.
The League- A new organization formed by a mysterious trainer, it exists to protect trainers from the other two organizations and often works to oppose the plans of Rebirth.

1.) no legendary pokemon
2.) Stats, levels, items, and hm/tm moves do not exist in this world.
3.) Pokémon must be in their first forms, you will be able to evolve later.
4.) Pokemon like machamp and gengar who require trading to evolve do not in this world. Likewise pokemon that require stones or other items to evolve will have other means of achieving it without them.
5.) Type does play a role but is not as critical as it is in the game. This will be more like the show.
6.) trainers may be any age, and may only possess one pokemon.
7.) with your Pokémon came a weird stone talisman with that Pokemon etched into it. This will be important for a game mechanic later on.
