"Auoooo!" (Welcone back Scarlett, bought a new potential friend I presume of yours with you, hm?) A Audino greeted them with a friendly smile upon opening a door that lead to the tent upon entering that was really his going by the name Anna, "Trrriiii!" (What in the world, you didn't mention you would bring anyone over Scarlett, I'm not mad and I don't mind at all but dear god did that give me a little scare!) a sudden sharp lower base cry came out upon a Low-key toxicity that was named Dex also couldn't to help taking a little bit back then kind of help the jump a bit when they saw the sudden woman, most certainly normally not the jumpy type but understanding as you would be a little bit caught off guard, "Tooxxxx!" (Greeting Scarlett, I don't see the need to worry, I know you wouldn't bring someone that would harm him!) another toxtricity replied but in amp form giving a kind smile in a slight wave towards Esther.

Vixen on the another hand wasn't dying but still needless in critical condition, having a nasal cannula of his nose upon it being not safe for the moment to have his mouth covered to avoid buildup, IV stuck to his arm with fluids and anti-nausea mix in with steroids, given a shot of epinephrine by syringe and antihistamines being injected into a muscle of his, "it's fine, I hold no hard feelings and don't hold against yourself so much, a part of Pokémon battling is unexpecting any of each side's move, you were simply commanding your Pokémon to do his parts and I will say the way you use it was definitely a good use of it, I give my apologies if Scarlett cause you any trouble, come on scar, it's time to turn back to normal and get yourself over here!" he ushered over scarlett in a nice and kind tone but what did he mean turn back to normal? she was just a normal human kid? right? well that kid soon flipped into the air making a circling motion only for a pinkish purple glow developing around them similar to flame wheel but not the same.

Suddenly, the two leg becoming four as they land on the ground to reveal a pokemon...? the whole time the so-called child was actually a Pokémon, specifically as Zorua!? Scarlett eagerly rushing over as she jumped on the bed handles and hanged down from them but using a portion of her body to hold her in place, Vixen giving the Pokémon chin scratches while one of his eyes finally breaks open, the purple eye shifting towards a Pokemon before shifting the look at Esther, having one hand while he rubbing his bursting stomach as he honestly felt that could burst at any moment, the plump rounded stomach popping out of his shirt about about halfway through of his belly bulge letting out a pianful sounding
(Ggggrrrooowwwlllll!)

His face becoming wincing in distress not so long after as a visible large lump quickly ran up the front of his throat letting out another loud belching cough with pink sweetie scents mist oozing out of his mouth once more gasping for air for a moment before hearing the sudden sound of a flute, his eyes locked into Esther once more as he really didn't actually care if it was amateur to expert, with a large portion of your life and occupation centering around music, you likely learn to appreciate any music of any kind. he didn't interrupt her once as he simply closes eyes while giving a smile upon taking in the beautiful music with him laying down, drifting his eyes closed as he did actually fall asleep.

Yesterday, Esther had been tricked, she'd been backstabbed, and she'd quite possibly been bamboozled. She had seen Vixen, pale-faced and pollen-heavy, confined to a hospital bed and, in her haste, she hadn't thought to question it. But now? After a night of restful sleep? Something didn't add up…

A few whiffs of sweet scent had caused all that? Likely story!

The man had been so full of pollen he'd been burping it up in pink, saccharine bubbles. Esther was no medic, but she didn't think allergies looked quite like that. In fact, she suspected the story had played out very differently. The only reasonable chain of events that could have led up to Vixen's condition would be if, after their battle, Vixen had returned to the battlefield, swept & sifted pollen from dust and then snorted it in sweet, debauched lines.

Fortunately for Vixen and his Pokémon, Baroness Rosana had no intentions of pursuing the matter. In fact, she'd renounced the title altogether. Yesterday had been fun and, at some point, she'd slipped into the medieval noble roleplay. Today was a new day, which meant a new outfit and, in turn, a new persona.

Goodbye Baroness and hello…Plague Doctor!

Now all she needed was a Spritzee mask and…
Perfect~!

Now some sturdy black boots and a wide-brimmed hat and…
"Hehehe!"

It was time to make a
MENACE
of herself.

"O-Oh my, it seems like Vixen schedule himself into an event that starts today..." "R-Really? well there's no way he can attend it at least for now, it's going to at least take a very few days before he's in stable condition again!" "Well dang, there isn't much we can do than the hope they don't drop him from the list, or let him in late if the event is still going..." Anna let out worried tone upon checking for him while he had plan to at least do today he definitely could not do today while still being passed out cold, the three having a very small discussion with each other upon hearing that, Scarlett still peacefully sleeping around a spot open around his legs curl up in a ball like a cat.

TOWERS

August 6th, The River's Crown Medieval Festival, Kalos.

Breakfast, the most important meal of the day. The blonde woman rested her head on her arms while she sat at the food court. Her eyes watched as Nana and Lily munched on their snacks. Azumi had opted for just some coffee and a muffin, which was down to just coffee. Work had been a bit rough, but the day before, those matches, had been a heavier toll. Who knew that fighting around in armor was so exhausting. She had been a runner up though, losing second to someone named Zelda. But it was Saturday! Time to cheer up and have some fun! Sadly, Azumi's partner in crime had gone out to Route 8 or something, so she was stuck in the festival, on her own.

She sat up straight, yawned and took the warm cup of coffee into her hands. Nana just gave her the same hurt puppy eyes she had been given her since that night. Lily on the other hand was just happy Nana wasn't bickering at her. "If you're going to be a sourpuss, go back into your Poke Ball." Azumi drank from her beverage and looked at the fairy Pokemon. Nana just twisted her mouth at Azumi and went back into her poffins.

Azumi stretched her arm into the air and sighed. "You know, we should go have fun. We can't just sit here around sulking. That's not very healthy on our part. Oh! How about some shopping? That always cheers us up." That energy and determination lasted a few seconds. "Maybe later, let's just enjoy our meal for now."

"Soooollll?" (Another one? Vixen did mention before about how he had been getting a spike in murder victims who suffered a horrible death by the hands of evil team, when it come to for spirits who have stories to tell to have someone to share that can actually see them, hear them, and more.) the fluffy white fur odd color one with one single horn spoke to themselves upon finding themselves being guided on to a certain person by sense, standing on their hind legs for the time being to look into the window with coffee in her hand while she seemed to be talking to a gardevoir, assuming it was theirs, being one of the many pokémons sent out to run about while their trainer was in the tent.

Julian was so excited to receive Vasya's ear scratches later, and he was doubly excited to show off this new fit Miles got for him when they got here.

Unfortunately, Miles seemed dead set on keeping him from wearing his Holowear and thus keeping himself from inundating the world with his impeccable fashion sense.

Julian also decided that he didn't like how serious Seelie was. Sure, it was nice that such a serious Pokemon was taking care of Vasya, and he definitely didn't mind that, but can't he just let loose for a second? Julian's situation - having come with Miles from another time and place - was a bit more unique, and Miles actually functioned better with Julian's hyperactivity amidst Julian taking care of him than having such a serious Pokemon look after him. Plus, Miles's triggers were specific to the clanging of metal and being in a roused crowd - whether it turns into a mob or if they're just an excitable crowd, making going to a concert where people are standing and screaming for a band near impossible to handle.

It also didn't help that Julian was intent on not changing how he functioned, especially considering Miles told him he was glad Julian was the way he was - a secret insecurity he held after he evolved into a Sylveon for a noble, only to be immediately cast aside because he wasn't as special as the Espeon the girl wanted. He was just glad he was a cuddly yet fierce pink Fairy-Type rather than some majestic pink turd though.

Meanwhile, as Miles explained when he came into this world, smiling a bit sheepishly as Vasya explained his unfortunate illiteracy which didn't help the answering process. He did smile wide though. It had been years, everyone he grew up with only noticing the change after so many years has passed and yet they rarely commented on it, while Ella was struggling with the fact that Miles wasn't normal when it came to romantic relationships and was too busy helping people settle in their new government body. So, hearing someone sound proud at who he became after these grueling ten years made his body feel warm and fuzzy, like all his work had shaped him for the better.

Miles also felt wistful, hoping he could bring back Vasya's words to their people back home. If he could send a letter and if there was a stable wormhole back, he would.

As Vasya continued to tease him though, Miles just scoffed, but there was an amused smirk on his face. Maybe he didn't actually hate this like he was trying to portray, proving Vasya's point even more.

They thankfully changed subjects and was just as glad that this world was far nicer to its people than the world they came from. Though, it was nice that Vasya was open to letting him stay at his cottage in Pinwheel Forest if there was ever a need.

He just about choked on air when Vasya called the phones 'queer boxes', chuckling as he nodded at his question. Of course, he was still young-ish, he found that learning things - just as long as it was hands-on learning - was very easy, but he was willing to help Vasya with his phone troubles.

He gave a sheepish grin though as he assumed Vasya had PTSD. Well, it was pretty obvious, with the way Vasya acted back then - as well as quite a few other people harmed by others for an extended length of time. The questions the psychiatrist gave Miles to answer had Miles realize that Vasya - if he were asked the same questions - would likely have a similar response to Miles's own answers. Plus, seeing Seelie there beside him looking so serious, he figured that Vasya had a rather bad case of PTSD.

While Miles's own PTSD was more consistent for that of a soldier or war veteran, he was sure Vasya had something similar. He did chuckle a little as Vasya asked what twinning was, gladly answering his question. "Twinning means when two people have the same thing or going through the same thing."

Miles was at least glad that Vasya reminded him that Julian doesn't need to wear his service vest, and nodded as he got some insight as to Seelie's demeanor. One little glance at Seelie had him noticing the thinly-veiled frustration on the Sylveon's face, and he gave a sheepish grin as he looked back at Vasya. "Ah, thank you."

He also wanted to explain what a Holowear was to Vasya, but he'll do that later. He didn't want Julian to be reminded of the new outfit he got.

The Snivy didn't answer Vasya's greeting, seemingly too battle-brained to have manners. It didn't matter if Vasya was standing or crouched, the Snivy holding the same sort of detachment. He was bred for battle, he should be used for battle, not for socializing.

In fact, Louis's seriousness rivaled that of Seelie. In fact, this Snivy - while very serious - also felt like his current state wasn't enough and would work himself to exhaustion when the whim fancies him, something Miles had to be careful of.

Though, Vasya's joke - even if dark - got a chuckle out of Miles, shaking his head. "Please, he'd be more interested in fighting your other Grass-Types."

Once Louis was returned, Miles listened to Vasya, nodding at the thoughts he shared about Louis's demeanor. "Yeah. If I'm not careful, he would train until he's too exhausted to move. He also refused to evolve just about five times now. He believes that he's not enough and wants to master being a Snivy before evolving. It sorta works considering he's learning moves faster than if he did evolve, but I worry." He sighed. "When they breed Pokemon for battling, some of that purpose bleeds into their demeanor and this is the result." He shook his head. "Though, I've noticed that they don't even try to breed them for battling, Louis is just one of those perfect storms that made it difficult for beginner trainers to deal with. He's already been returned to the lab where he was chosen from several times because of his behavior, which only made his behavior worse, so he was given to me to help loosen him up a bit."

Miles continued to hang out with Vasya for the rest of the day, only to be too bothered by the crowds, so he had to go take a break just outside of the event's grounds, choosing to rest under a tree for the rest of the day and night.

His Arcanine left his Pokeball to lay his head across Miles's lap, giving Miles some pressure similar to a weighted blanket, helping to give him better sleep.

----------------

The new day arrived, and Miles didn't want to get into different clothes, so he decided to go back into the grounds with his Arcanine, resting atop the back of his Arcanine. His Sylveon was settled in Miles's arms, Arcanine's large form helping to give the crowd a wide berth from Miles thanks to the Arcanine being 6'5". It was practically impossible now to not see him.

Miles wanted to eat, but honestly didn't want to leave Zarc's back, the Fire-Type's fur being to comfortably warm and soft to leave it behind, even briefly. Not even Julian wanted to leave, whining and chittering at the soft cream-colored mane. However, Zarc did settle by the breakfast grounds, looking over his shoulder at Miles. Miles huffed. "But you're so comfyyyy, I don't wanna..." He scoffed, making Zarc chuckle. Then, Zarc laid down, making Miles groan. "Fine..." He slid off with Julian still in his arms, the Holowear device wrapped around the Sylveon's body, with the grey panel settled on his back.

He noticed a Shiny Absol was nearby, but he didn't pay it any heed. He noticed a a woman he remembered was a cop from yesterday with a Gardevoir and Meowscarada eating, likely on break. With a defeated groan, he walked around in front of Zarc to hug his large head, keeping Julian on his shoulders, and going into the cafeteria tent to find food to eat, getting his money ready to pay for some food that vaguely reminded him of home, if not a bit more embellished in the quality of the foods.

"SSOOLL!?" (WHO THERE!?) the Pokemon scream now having their sensors again being activated but now upon eyes being lock on them, even the smallest things these Pokemon are able to send without a dime, only taking the defensive and aggressive stance upon not knowing who, what, this was, jumping to flip themselves facing the other way upon letting out the sudden cry, watching them leave relaxing as soon as they got riled up as he just went back to staring at the window.

MONTAGNE KHASTIL
August 6th — Muraille Coast (Route 8), Kalos

"This is the last time I get directions from a fuckin' forain!"

Monty's exasperated cry was swallowed by the sheer drop below him, and if he wasn't forcing himself to keep his eyes forward then he'd join his echo on the rocks below any second. The path up to the Muraille Coast's upper ledges was supposed to be quick and easy to follow, the mother of all shortcuts that would take him straight there from Cyllage City instead of having to go all the way to Ambrette Town first, but when the festival worker said 'you can't miss it' Monty had something more like a nice dirt path with a bunch of signs pointing the way.

Instead he got a slab of rock barely as wide as he was, and— OH SHIT!

His boot slipped ever so slightly, and sent a shower of pebbles tumbling a couple hundred meters to the rocks, beach, their doom, or whatever the pebbles wanted to call it. The gangster sprung back against the rock wall behind him, splayed out flat like he'd been crucified, and the sudden move earned him a sharp nip on the ear. "YOWCH!"

"Yip-yip-YIP!" Abné was equally unhappy about their situation, and she made it extremely well known from her perch on Monty's shoulder. Did she have a right to be scared? Yeah, sure, but she'd end up killing both of them at this rate!

To add insult to injury, Abné wasn't the only Pokémon around making noise. A distinct vibration was ringing out from the ledge above them, and Monty took an incredible risk to look up and bark at its source.

"Are you LAUGHING at us?!"

His partner rightfully lounged above him, watching in mirthful amusement as the stupid man floundered across the cliff face like a Whiscash dragged onto land. Navigating the rock was a simple feat to her, yet Monty's lack of grace and, more likely, brains made it seem like the gods themselves were lengthening the distance from the grass with every step he took.

His tarrying did at least give the Absol a chance to admire the view. The ocean in Monty's homeland felt so different to the warm, lapping waters of her own. Here it was colder, harsher, and yet not altogether unfamiliar. Wingull still flapped their ugly wings along the beach, and the odd Taillow still sang its lovely little song. The waves glittered in the rising sun all the same, but from so high up they were less like water and more like sparkling treasures! There was no such view of her ocean!

The scene was almost serene, which meant it notably lacked a certain shaking man spouting cries and shouts.

"YES! Solid ground! I'll never take you for granted again!"

What a fitting interruption. Oracle peered back down at the ledge below, and rolled her eyes when she spotted stupid Monty had finally reached the widened section. Perhaps that meant they could finally get on with their day instead of wasting time sputtering nonsense.

"I feel like I'm wasting my time sputtering fuckin' nonsense!"

The gangster was sweaty, tired, and pissed off — all before the clock even struck seven A.M. A cigarette hung from his scowl, and he huffed it down with the kind of vigor that could only be brought on by starting his day with a good old fashioned near-death experience. If someone'd asked him while he was on the ledge, Monty would've said he'd trade that hell for anything.

He just hadn't expected to trade a foot-wide stone hell for a waist-high green purgatory.

Monty squinted his eyes at a trail of smooshed-down grass snaking every which way, and he cupped his hands around his mouth for the third— no, fourth —time. "We're not here to frolic, you!"

The frolicker in question didn't pay him much mind, nor did the Absol lounging in the shade of a nearby tree's branches. Monty scowled at the former, too, and called out, "You could help, too, you know!"

Was he speaking Kantonian?! Even from fifty meters away he could see Oracle roll her eyes at him. The least she could do was pretend to be interested, but he should've known better than to ask too much!

He was asking too much of the internet, too, mostly the parts of the internet detailing the Pokémon species he could find on the Muraille Coast. Monty was seriously starting to doubt that he could find anything here, let alone the freaky-ass land squid he was after. Nearly an hour of wading through the tall grass, and their search didn't turn up so much as a single tentacle!

The gangster huffed and watched the pair of snaking trails intersect in the rustling grass, silently cursing their luc—

Wait. Trio of trails?

FLASH!
BOOM!

A green sphere materialized into being where the trails met, and an explosion a split second later sent it SOARING! through the air on a collision course straight to Monty and Oracle. Shit, Abné! The gangster gritted his teeth, extended his arms forward, and called out, "I've got you!"

The barrier, Abné's <<Protect>>, dissipated and his crying baby of an Eevee CRASHED! into his arms. "It's alright, I've got you," Monty assured her, keeping the little silver Eevee clutched close to his chest, and he looked out at the smoke rising in the green sea. What attacked? Why now? And why wasn't it coming towards them?

The sounds of battle rang out, but they stayed at the spot Abné had just rocketed away from. Monty glanced up at Oracle to see if they were on the same page, and her answer was loud and clear. The Absol hadn't stood up from her perch in the branches, but her venomous red eyes were locked on the grass and her tail lashed back and forth like a cracking whip. If a battle came, she was ready.

A piercing HISS! cut through the air, violent and furious, and something big SPIRALED! up into the air. A flying snake spun around-and-around, pirouetting straight up into the air, but this one didn't look like any snake Monty had seen on the habitat sites. It was super close to a Seviper, the Seviper-like shape and Seviper-like color being his biggest clues, but it didn't have a very Seviper-like head nor did he think they were very well known for their spontaneous bouts of flight.

"What the hell?" Monty muttered and squinted in disbelief. What he thought was some kind of misshapen-growth on its head was actually one of the incredibly elusive Pokémon that they had been searching for all morning!

An Inkay had its tentacles wrapped around the Seviper's head, and it dragged it nearly 20 meters into the air before suddenly THROWING! it down and DIVING! into it. The two Pokémon PLUMMETED! to the ground, and a plume of dust kicked up that obscured Monty's view right as it was getting good. It dissipated quick, though, and the Inkay rose back up into the air with its back turned to them. The presumably victorious land squid let its tentacles hang straight down, tilted its whole body back, and let loose a loud cry.

Monty looked down at Abné, she looked up at him, and he muttered, "Are you seeing this shit?" He heard Oracle shifting in the branches, and he looked up to see a hungry look in her eye — the same look she got when she really wanted to win a fight.

"He's the one, Oracle?" Monty asked, but she stayed locked onto the Inkay. It was still basking in its victory, and even if it was his idea to try and catch one...this one seemed like a freak.

Black sparks CRACKLED! and POPPED! up and down the Absol's legs, and Monty knew it was a forgone conclusion. He reached a hand into his pocket for his stash of empty Poké Balls, and expanded one to its full size.

"Let's do it, then."

"It was your idea to catch this one! Quit sulking!"

Their battle with the Inkay was completely unexpected, but where its capabilities got Monty fired up they turned Oracle into a pouting sourpuss. The Absol's hackles hadn't gone down since she won, and she glared daggers into Monty that he was surprised didn't stab straight through his jacket and destroy the squid's Poké Ball.

Monty slipped out his phone, and his fingers danced a quick text to Azumi. Now that their mission was accomplished, he could meet back up with his partner in crime within the hour!

Needless to say, the victors would soon find their banks accounts flush with their winnings and a digital voucher they could use to redeem the Technical Records they had so rightly earned.

    Zelda! Zelda! Zelda!

Admittedly, Zelda forgot that there was a monetary reward or a Technical Record involved with prizes. She hadn't expected to win, but she felt a boost of energy from the crowd, though her gaze landed on Indigo, who looked proud of her and that's all that really mattered in the moment.

When it came to the steel type technical records, her pick would have to be Gyro Ball.

It shouldn't be too hard to let Metang learn it.’ was her immediate thought. Her second was that she should probably thank Apollo for the duel before she forgot. Once she collected her prize and made a mental note to get her stuff (like her phone) from Indigo, she turned to Apollo and held out her hand not holding her helmet or spear for a shake.

“You fought well, I had fun and I hope you did too.”

    —

The next morning Indigo wasn't what woke her up, but alerts from her phone did. Texts from family and band mates who were informed from her mother Cyrilla (who had been informed by Indigo), about her win and sent congratulations.

Zelda still didn't know how her mom got her bandmates' numbers, but she set it aside and got ready for the day.

Getting dressed in a white button up and black high waisted pants; she wore her hair loose as she went to walk with Indigo to the food court for coffee and breakfast, tiredly nodding along to whatever they were saying at the moment.

As soon as she saw the breakfast tent she went right for it, only briefly glancing at the Arcanine nearby for a moment.

hearing a chirp as the shiny absolute jumped back once more to turn around as Soul was much more trusting with Pokemon than he was with stranger human, many of possibly bad things could happen when their trainer is in there to intervene from attempting to harm them and more, as without a trainer there's no human in or being back to the other human, calmy walking over to the fellow shiny with the skip in there step as they sat down near of the front of it and gave a "Sol!" (greetings, it's a nice pleasure to meet you!)

Looking over at the arcanine but when they did they completely froze again and their eyes shrink into a sharp tone, they were able to send some special energy was giving off almost a unnatural, otherworldy, something that hasn't been recorded and seen almost like it wasn't from this universe as a whole, this one was very special, very special but they couldn't pinpointing on it either.

“Welcome to Kalos!”
Nine Pokéballs flew, their glossy red surfaces darkened by the purple-blue translucence of their ball capsules. After blowing hundreds of dollars on Ball Capsules and Seals, spending so much that she'd nearly not had enough for that night's dinner, you bet your sweet bippy that nothing and no one was going to stop Esther from splurging.

Dark Hearts, whispering winds, ethereal notes, petals and leaves, coils of fire, fireworks and bursts of water…these were merely a few of the 18 Seals Esther currently had equipped between her pokémon. 18 different effects that emerged and once and promptly threw the world into chaos.

One could've said the air was choke-full of special effects and they'd could've have been more correct. . Had Vixen been present, he would've died on the spot. But that hardly bothered Esther--no, La Peste--since she'd long since equipped her Spritzee mask.

Before she could truly embody today's persona and plague her friends enjoy the day's activities, the Oblivian had returned to the medical tent to access their PC and have the rest of her Pokémon sent over from Oblivia. After all, they deserved to enjoy the festivities as much as anyone else. Also, if she wanted to battle Monty again, she wanted Kasriel in the back just in case she needed to cheese him with Parting Shot-Snarl spam…
Hehehehe!

And speaking of--
“Monty & Azumi are around here, somewhere. A generous award awaits whichever of you darling imps can find them!”
She certainly wasn't going to wander the island looking for them. The Pokémon took off! Or…at least the few that cared for Esther's games: Kasriel, Susu and…that was it. A wry smile and then she was hollering after them,
“Don't cause too much trouble now!”

Frankly, Esther half-suspected neither pokémon was even trying to find her friends. One whiff of the air, snout and antennae moving in sync, then they were gone. Though…why were they both headed for the cliffs?

Eh, they'll be back soon enough.

"Why don't the rest of us find some breakfast?"

POV ~ L'Basseau

Rosey cheeks flushed crimson. It had been FOREVER--read: a few weeks--since L'Basseau had tasted freedom, true freedom, unfettered and unsupervised. Ever since the Wingull Incident her trainer had been a real stick in the mud! It was always "YoU CaN't Do tHaT" and "tHe RaNGeRs aRe GoNNa FiNE Me!"

Bah! What was life without a little mischief?

Susu remembered him. Monty that was. Big guy. Clumsy guy. Her trainer had let her Hydro Pump him into a river once. Good times. Surely…her trainer wouldn't mind? Surely, she wouldn't get in trouble? Surely.

It took hardly a minute for Susu to catch the scent and only a little longer for her to trace it to a section of tall grass amidst craggy cliff-faces. There the Surskit laid eyes on the most glorious thing she'd ever seen--a target and his pokémon.

Four legs practically dancing, the Surskit immediately got to work. Her antennae at attention, the sweetest scent wafting over the grasses. Sure, it would attract some other wild Pokémon, but the scary white one was more than enough to handle them.

Or more like…she needed the white one distracted. Just for a moment…just long enough to lure away her prey--the little silver glutton! Then she could have some real fun.

SNIFF...SNIFF.

"No rest for the wicked," Monty muttered and sucked his teeth as a cloud of sickly sweet pollen erupted around them. Just when he thought they were in the clear, something showed up just to say 'fuck you' to him in particular! This hiking through the tall grass shit was for the friggin' Taillow.

He glanced down at Oracle, and confirmed that there was no point in telling her to keep an eye out. They'd both seen <<Sweet Scent>> before, and they both knew what'd be coming next. The Absol had her neck craned, and she ticked back-and-forth like a broken clock. It was a habit Monty'd only noticed down in the tunnels, and she always seemed to do it when a battle was near.

Monty picked his eyes back up and scanned their surroundings. Escape route? No quick ones. They'd either have to charge through the grassy sea or go back across the sketchiest ledge since pirates made people walk planks. The Sweet Scent's source? Nowhere to be seen. Other enemy Pokémon?

"Damn." Five, no, six trails tore through the grass ahead, all snaking and criss-crossing like homing missiles headed straight for them. This would be the perfect situation to use Chauffe, but the not-so-little pup might end up being an even bigger issue than he cared to tangle with right now.

"This is nothing new!" Monty called out, "Oracle, you're up!"

One of the streaks in the grass raced quicker than the others, and Monty turned to face it dead on. A Seviper LEAPT! out in an admittedly beautiful arc, but it would never reach its end. Black sparks CRACKLED! and POPPED! around Oracle, and she crouched down just as it went airborne.

Monty smirked. Too easy!

FLASH!

The Absol BLINKED! forward, and the Seviper was thrown back into the grass. Oracle followed after it, but just before Monty stepped in to join her he felt something else jump from his shoulder.

"Wha- Abné!" Monty flailed his arms to try and intercept her, but the little Eevee was already gone. Was she fuckin' kidding? The Sweet Scent got her, too?!

HISS!
FLASH!

Oracle was still waging war on the Seviper, and now Abné was MIA. Monty let out an exasperated huff and muttered, "Why can I never have everyone on the same page?"

FOOD! GRUB! SNACKS! Where was it?! WHERE WAS IT?!

It'd been ages since she'd smelled something so good! The snacks that the weird looking humans were forking over on that island were tasty, yummy even, but whatever she smelled now was heavenly! Monty hadn't fed her all day — except for that time in the morning — but that was like a bajillion moons ago!

The Eevee raced through the grass, sniffer working overtime to home in on the source of this divine smell, and eventually she BURST! out of the grass into...ROCKS?!

She pouted and pranced in circles. This was BULLSHIT! There nothing for her to eat here!

SNIFF! SNIFF!

Wait. Did her sniffer deceive her?! She craned her neck up to the top of the rocks. There! There it was!

She summoned all her strength, did a little wiggle to charge her energy, and JUMPED! from rock to rock until she scrambled on top!

Wha— WHAT?! Abné squinted at a weird-looking blue thing dancing around on top of the rock. It beat her to it?! Beat her to her treat sent from above?! She dropped into a defensive stance, and her jaws contorted into her best growl. She'd seen her teammate do one of his roars about a jillion times, but one of those was never the best way to get what she wanted.

Abné's growl curled, and her eyes creased. This would get her family to come running!

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!"

“Eating all by yourself beautiful?”
Through the vents of a Spritzee mask came a voice bold and dripping with an undeserved swagger. The plague doctress ignored every rule of etiquette--taking a seat on the table--and slid right across to Azumi's spot.

Having spotted her from across the room when she came in, Esther had wanted to sneak up a steal a bite of breakfast. Unfortunately, of whatever blondie had ordered, only crumbs remained.

Switching tactics, she'd decided on flirtatious and smarmy.

“Why don't you & I blow this joint and find some trouble, eh?”
A promise of mischief followed soon after by a fit of giggles. With a flourish, Esther slipped off her mask, grinning wide as she stuck out her tongue and threw open arms for a hug.
“Surprise!”

POV ~ L'Basseau

Noisy! Dark mirthful eyes met the Eevee and promptly disregarded it. Why was it crying? Was it stupid?

L'Basseau couldn't be bothered with the silver glutton. Her gaze was fixed, alight with anticipation as the battle raged. This was exactly the situation she'd wanted to see. It would be fun and easy to prank the big clumsy one, but she wasn't a bug of small ambitions.

Now that she'd been let off her leash, she was going BIG.

Her target? The White Queen herself.

It was only a matter of time…

SHHSHHSHH. The rustled--a loud, urgent approach--nothing like the sneaky whispers of the side-winding Seviper, but instead--
“Mon Cheri!”

Bursting from the tall grass, all black and white and head over heels, came a variant of Zigzagoon native to next-door Galar--her teammate. Oh, how she adored him. Susu knew she could count on him to be a racoon of passion, purpose and most of all…predictability.

And for his timely reliability, a gift from her to him: the pinkest, sweetest, stickiest bubble she could conjure. It was a precision strike, threading the needle, arriving in that moment the White Queen's eyes flashed with recognition. Whether Oracle hesitated upon the familiar face or ruthlessly executed her attack, the outcome hardly concerned Susu.

Today was a day that would live in infamy. Today she turned white to pink and if--in that process--her teammate got a moment to be stickily attached, plastered to his crush…well, good on him. A just and noble reward.

He would have to make do for Susu would already be gone, laughter on the wind, leaving behind a sweet and savory trail of syrup and scandal.

Azumi was just considering to go for a walk when a strange figure sat on the table. Maybe it was part of an act or maybe... it was just another person looking down on her. Just like her superiors at work, her terrible boss and her terrible supervisor. She hated being looked at like that. She couldn't tell by the mask, but those words were all too similar to how THEY treated her, especially on her first day. She was a bit fed up and ready to snap back until, it removed the mask.

"Esther?" Azumi was taken back a bit, but the memories and realization that her friend was back rushed back even faster. "Esther!" The blonde stood up and took the offer of the hug right away. "I can't believe you're back. Did you just get here?" She said while enjoying the lonliness fading away quickly.

Azumi let go of her friend and admired her proudly. "How was your journey? Did you meet any new friends? Where did you go? You have to tell me!" She clasped her hands together and waited excitedly. "Oh! Does Monty know you're back?"

Soul's greeting caused Kuro's tail to wag as the shiny Umbreon shifted to get a better look, and given his perch on Indigo's shoulder led to Indigo getting smacked with the appendage and Kuro's nails digging into their shoulder, which that part they had expected.

The trainer grunted softly at being smacked by their partner Pokémon's tail, grabbing at the Umbreon and crouching to set him down on the ground when they noticed Soul properly.

“Oh, hello, aren't you a pretty one.” They cooed while Kuro leaned forward to sniff at Soul then barked out "Hello, I'm Kuro, nice to meet you. That's Indigo," then motioned to Indigo with a flick of the ear, introducing his trainer with a low purr full of affection.

Speaking of Indigo–Kuro turned to look at his trainer, then pointedly at the breakfast tent before looking back to the Coordinator. It took Indigo a moment before it clicked.

“Okay I get it, you're hungry. I'll make sure to bring you and your new friend something too.” they chuckled, scratching Kuro under the chin before heading inside the tent proper.

Zelda had just grabbed food herself and sat waiting once they entered, so they went to go grab something for themself and the two shinies outside the tent, not at all in a rush to do so. Indigo was glad Kuro was making new friends too. Azumi was speaking with someone in an outfit that was apparently plague doctor themed, given the Spritzee mask (Indigo almost stopped to ask them where they got such a pretty outfit but didn't want to interrupt the two), and there were a few other people around it seemed.

—

Kuro had noticed that Soul seemed jumpy, so sending Indigo away to get food made sense to the Eeveelution in case Indigo was part of the reason for Soul's jumpy demeanor. Loud purrs from the chin scratches trailing off as Indigo entered the tent and proud of himself for his plan working, he turned to his fellow shiny but noticed they seemed tense due to the Arcanine laying near the tent.

Said Arcanine wasn't posing a threat currently, maybe the Absol senses some form of disaster on the horizon? Kuro hadn't met too many Absols other than Soul and the one named Oracle recently.

Any he met as a runt of an Eevee were long forgotten and currently irrelevant, especially if he couldn't remember them in the moment. Right now he wanted to make sure there were not potential threats to Indigo and Zelda.

Hey,” Kuro chirped, standing from his sitting position and nudging Soul's front leg with his nose to grab their attention, “you okay? What's got you so jumpy?” he was always eager for a battle if it meant protecting Indigo and making them happy, especially when he got to practice some of the move combinations the two worked on, though it'd been a little while since he practiced.

"N-Nothing....is there anything you may want to potentially do together?"
if it wasn't for him recognizing that it was Umbreon then then he may or may not start to have smacking the shit whatever touched him with his horn, he had no desire to hurt or had malicious intent but it does a instinctive response to him, soul didn't seem to keen or interested about their human though, only looking at them briefly while tilting there head upon getting a random compliment of being pretty? didn't know I was pretty to strangers but whatever, might as will roll with it, giving a gentle mumble growl to the umbreon upon being asked if he was okay.

Miles's Pokémon Team:
Zarc the Kantonian Arcanine (BB)
Louis the Snivy
Doug the Diggersby
Julian the Sylveon
Tails the Alolan Ninetales
Zelda the Thievul

While Miles went in to get his food with Julian on his shoulder, Zarc laid on the ground. It looked like he was snoozing, but in actuality, his trained ears kept flicking this way and that, catching all the sounds of those within the breakfast tent and those just outside of it. He would peek his eye out whenever someone got close to the breakfast tent, but other than giving them a cursory glance, he just kept himself still. Someone could mistakenly think he was an Arcanine whose trainer was paid to keep the tent safe.

The jumpy Shiny Absol from earlier, what with his little scream, did nothing to make Zarc look in his direction again. Zarc just thought of the Absol as just some jumpy Shiny. He smelled like the Absol was already owned by another trainer, and the Arcanine found it fascinating he was able to tell through the musky sweet scent that still stubbornly clung to the Absol. His trainer must have allergies if they're nowhere nearby.

However, the Absol's position had Zarc going from complacent to wary. Why was he looking through the window of the tent? Why was he staring at someone in particular? He's seen many Dark-Types in his day, and while some of them were just mischievous, it didn't settle his concerns.

He glanced up at Zelda as she came by, his tail lightly wagging a little to show he didn't mean any harm. Then his gaze went to the nearby Indigo and his Shiny Umbreon. He gave a gruff grunt in greeting to the Umbreon's chirping, only to settle his head back on the ground.

He listened as Soul conversed with Kuro, the Absol sounding almost cheery if it weren't for his timid nature. His ear flicked as he heard two women talking to each other, one being mischievous before sounding happy, while the other sounded relieved. His ears flicked once again as he heard Soul and Kuro continue their chat. Zarc stretched his limbs and got up, padding over to the two smaller Pokemon. Considering Zarc - from paw to shoulder - was six feet tall, he wasn't surprised that he would be looming over them, so he kept himself at a distance as he stared almost wearily at the Absol, giving a gruff groan. "Why are you staring at a woman inside the tent? You do realize how suspicious you come off, right? I can't tell if you're watching her with benign or malicious intent."

While Zarc wasn't a guard dog for the event, he was Miles's guard dog and has been in a war. Old habits died hard. At least he sat there looking non-threatening as possible.

they let out in an under mumbling growl with their voice not being raised but yet not being too low, piercing his eyes again as he slowly brought his head to look in the eyes of the fiery dog once more "Besides is not like I can sense that you have a small tiniest bit of a aura off you....I should be asking you if it's good or bad or not!" sensing it a little bit more clear as the Arcanine came to them, they were not aware that this energy was found in Totem Pokemon, Z power, Z moves, whatever mumbo jumbo, all they knew it was energy and that is your case sir.

Oracle and the horde of Seviper brought carnage to the grassy cliffs, and Monty gave it a wide berth. There was no telling which of the fallen snakes were dead, hurt, or knocked out, and the gangster didn't much care to find out by tripping over them. He knew that his partner was more than capable of finishing off any stragglers, so that meant his attention should be focused on...

"WAAAAAAAAAH!"
What the— Monty's head snapped to the rocks above. That was Abné's wailing.

WOOSH!

A blur of white fur SHOT! past him, damn near whipping up dust as she passed, and Monty picked up his face to follow along. Oracle could reach the top of the cliff well before he would ever get there, but once she arrived? Who knew what else had been drawn in by the Sweet Scent, especially if their miniature tank had resorted to crying instead of running to regroup with them?

Oracle would need to be ready to fight several opponents right away, which meant it was the perfect time to put some of their post-tunnel training to the test. Monty's partner had already reached the base of the cliff, and he called out, "Oracle! Blow them away!"

Two, no, three at the top. Her horn buzzed with inputs and information, a forewarning of what she'd find, and if she didn't know any better she'd say she was almost delighted to hear that stupid Monty had the same understanding as she did. For as useless as the man was when they'd first met, he'd managed to improve his instincts at the very least.

Oracle hit the bottom of the cliff and immediately LEAPT! up.

One bound.

She flared and flexed her <Pressure>, pushing it out to its limit. Her claws scraped into the rough stone and dirt, and she LAUNCHED! up again.

Two bounds.

She pulled the wild <Pressure> back in, condensing it, swirling it around, and pouring energy into the flow.

Three bounds.

The heavy, blanketed weight turned to a ripping whirlwind that carved into the rock as she flew past it.

Four.

Oracle crested over the top of the cliff, and her venomous red eyes narrowed as she caught sight of a skittering blue bug and a furry pink missile on a perfect course to intercept her. She didn't know what game was being played at, or even what peons dared to confront her, but she did see that her subordinate's dazzling green barrier was up. Good.

Oracle sent her attack SLICING! outwards in a frenzy of sharp, whipping gusts to cut through both of the vermin — <<Razor Wind>>!

“Oh! Well, I stashed away on a cargo ship that took me to Unova then after another sow-away I ended up in Johto! I did make some friends! We bought a inflatable castle and sailed through the Whirl Islands!”
The questions came fast and Esther tried to answer them just as quickly. It was difficult to condense her event-filled weeks into a few words, so Esther just glossed over it.
“I got here yesterday and ran into Monty, I sent some of my pokemon to look around. He shouldn't be too far.”

Razor Wind cleft the bubble in twain, a sharp POP as its sticky payload was caught up with the wind—a mix of water and syrup. The breeze, already tinged with sweetness, was now positively candied, carrying its saccharine scent far across the cliffside.

Susu, naturally, was nowhere near the blast radius—her Quick Attack had already zipped her out of reach, leaving nothing but her chittering laughter.

She skittered gleefully along the jagged ridges, eager to clear the danger zone. Sweet Scent could only drift so far on its own—but Razor Wind? That was the Queen’s contribution. All that power, all that edge, only helping to broadcast the sugary trail.

Whatever it lured this time… it’d be more than just a few Seviper.

So was her brother, but she wasn't bringing that subject up. "Me and my sister were born here after my family moved over. But I do remember visiting Goldenrod, the Pokeathlon, the radio tower... Oh! We also rode the magnet train to Safron, it's a really big city."

Azumi stood up and fixed her outfit. "Do you want to go look around? If your Pokemon are looking for Monty, I'm sure they can find us after. We won't go far and Nana can pick up any emotion if they're feeling lost." She looked at her Gardevoir, but the fairy just rolled her eyes and sighed. "Um, maybe not... she's a bit cranky lately, long story. So, what do you say?" She smiled back at Esther.

Tall, blonde and buxom, Azumi was no Yamato Nadeshiko—far from it. If not for her reserved demeanor, she might've been considered diametrically opposed. The reveal of her Johtoan heritage was…well, it wasn't surprising—not with a name like Azumi. That wasn't exactly a Kalosian staple. Regardless, it answered a few idle questions.

“Neat! Is your sister in Kalos too? Introduce me sometime! And sure, let me grab some breakfast and we can go get lost. Maybe the performance stage? Or we can go wherever.”

“Say, remember those Fossils we found back in Glitter Cave? I've been thinking of getting an Amaura but I don't know if my fossil is an Amaura or how much it would cost to revive one. I heard there was like a pokemon trade thing here, wanna check that out?”

"Splendid!" Azumi looked at her Pokemon. "Let's go you two, we might find something for you also." She nodded towards the crowd of people. Gardevoir stood up with all the weight of the world on her back while Meowscarada just stretched and marched onward, ready to take on the world.

Azumi stepped into the crowd, "A Pokemon trade? We should look it up." She placed her hands behind her back and walked with her head held up high. "An Amaura? That's such a lovely Pokemon. We're going to be fossil sisters! I have a Tyrantrum, who used to be native to Kalos a long long time ago along with Amaura." Her mind traveled back to all those visits to the different science museums back when she was in school. "The theory is that Amaura developed an Ice typing to try and defend itself from Tyrantrum, a dragon type. It's fascinating how Pokemon adapt in such ways. It does make you wonder if we are adapting to Pokemon or if they're adapting to us. I guess it can also be a bit of both."

Azumi's mind wondered back to earth. "Oh, you asked about my sister, right? She's in Kanto, taking care of Cinnabar Island Gym. In case you're looking for a good fight, she can definetely give you one. She's way more passionate about battling than I am. I'm very proud of her." She smiled at Esther and then at the stands. "and I have to go ask a man why they wanted to punch you and not to do that, greaaaat!" the very long and winded discussion once Scarlett woke up went down as all that she knew, he was not happy, very very not happy the time they went through that fun loving story, at least I will be stable tomorrow, his stomach not nearly as tight yesterday with a nice clear cut of halfway through the process so it's not like his stomach so it was like his stomach was still rather pumping around and still prodding out under the shirt, feeling another hard lump coming up when letting out another belch a beautiful wonderful pink mist, effortlessly flapping himself to lay back down slowly dying inside which was the norm for him what's his grumbling stomach.
