For the longest time trainers would collect eight badges then proceed to take on the elite four of their respected region then the champion.

Due to the over abundance of eager trainers. The position of champion became meaningless as it would change every couple of days. To combat this the PTU (Pokemon Trainer Union) created mandated tournaments that would happen every six months in each region. These tournaments would decide who was able to take on the Elite 4 and Champion.

Now at the start of the twelfth Kanto League Tournament trainers from all over the region get ready for the event. Unaware of the dark shadows that loom over them.

I guess some of my first questions would encompass which Pokemon would be allowed.

First gen primarily but if you have a pokemon that evolves in a later generation they're allowed to in this.

No trainers can have legendaries but they will appear
